UPDATE BELOW!!I’ve only played a few hours and I’m enjoying it. It’s a straight up arcade racer and very much like the first game. The ultimate edition; includes all dlc. In the form of, seasons, 1-3 and a bunch of other usual cosmetics and a %10 bonus earnings. The main part of the dlc, is the 3 seasons. It’s just more of the same, from what you get with the main game (loads of races/events). If you only like sims, you may not like this. If, like myself, you love all types of racing games, then It’s a must buy. It’s not a sim , it’s pure arcade racer and I’m fine with that because it’s really fun. I see a lot of people, complaining that there isn’t a deep championship, career mode etc and that’s true,so bare that in mind. I’m totally fine with it. It’s basic but fun. Click event, do 2 or 3 races, back to the basic career mode and select next event. You have events, with different types of car, which is nice. Muscle cars, street Racers, Super Cars, F1 type etc. Something for everyone. I’ve not completed a whole set of races in a given class. I’ve dabbled a bit in each class, but I imagine you’d do a 5 race event, at the end. Decent graphics, a STABLE frame rate (Thank You Lord) really fun racing. Loads of races, Nice selections of cars, great sound, nice locations decent weather effects. Oh, there’s 2 things that may initially annoy some. 1st there’s a Nemesis system. Basically, if you crash into a Ai car, they will get really angry with you and will make it their mission, to take you out of the race and trust me, they are bloody good at it. 2nd, if you go slightly off the track, you get penalised and they take seconds from your time. I learned the hard way. Finished a race in first and as I cross the line, it says I came 5th. I’m like wtf, then I realise that I got punished for going off the track, once and my first place turned into 5th lol. Other then that , it’s a really fun game. I’ll deff be playing until I finish everything. Cheap price ultimate edition only £25After a good few hours with Grid, I’m totally loving it. It’s some of the most satisfying racing I’ve ever come across. I’m about halfway through career mode. Can’t wait to get to the dlc. If it wasn’t for Ps5 coming out soon, I’d have bought a racing wheel to play this game. I was looking at a Logitech wheel priced at £300 then down to £215 but I’m unsure if it will work with Ps5 . If grid can be played on Ps5 then I will deff buy a wheel compatible with Ps5. There’s well over 100 races in career mode, and a bunch more races, events and cars, with season 1-3 dlc. At first I thought the base game seemed lacking in content but I think it’s acceptable, especially as the racing is so fun. I’d deff buy the ultimate edition. It’s by far the best value. I payed £25 for ultimate and after playing, I’d have been happy to pay £50 on day 1 for base game alone. Don’t know how so many people didn’t like this game. It’s by far 1 of the most fun racers, available and there definitely isn’t a lack of speed. Especially when you buy the high powered super cars.

I bought this having played GRID 1, 2 and Autosport in the past, and remembering that those games were actually very competent arcade racers. The new GRID follows a similar formula: simplified handling model, mix of fictional and real circuits and a nice roster of cars from various disciplines. The fundamental gameplay has been enhanced slightly, with a more prominent damage model and much more aggressive AI (a benefit rather than hindrance when you actually start racing).Every race is an event in itself and rarely plays out the same way. You have an AI team mate who you can command to defend and attack depending on where you think they would be best utilised,so if you were struggling to make up places you could use your team mate further ahead in the field to slow down the cars in front of you to gain the places back. Not a hugely complex or unique feature, but can be good fun to try and slightly strategise a race.Multiplayer seems a bit D.O.A but I suspect it's more down to the fact there aren't actually that many people who have bothered to sign up to RaceNet right now. Lobbies are filled with AI to reach the player count, which I prefer. However there was never any more that 4 actual players to a lobby, basically making it like single player but with 4 slightly less aggressive and consistent AI thrown in...I didn't buy this for online so it doesn't bother me, although this is something to consider for those of you buying it to play with others. The handling takes time to get used to as well. Because of it being designed around a controller the out of the box configuration means it is very slow to steer off-centre until it suddenly accelerates the axis so you can reach maximum steering lock. This can make cars initially feel inconsistent, but you just need to practice with both the handling model and get used to easing the throttle and brake in and out of corners-smashing either of these to 100% will just result in a spin. The controls are also completely adjustable and re-mapabble, so you can adjust it however you like.Ultimately, if you are looking for a nice pick up and play racing game I can't think of any other ones for PlayStation that can offer what GRID has. It is easy to use, easy to get into and doesn't stress you out like Gran Turismo or other PS4 racing titles can.

This game works on both the xbox one and one x series. It was reputed to have uprated graphics on the basic machine.... I am using it on a 4k upscaled new ultra hd lcd TV and I would say at that standard the graphics are slightly dissapointing. Also the track count is limited once you take into account that a smaller number of tracks contain many variations to make up the track library. But it works well with my obsolete Mad AKatz wheel and pedals... which is good.

Not a racing sim. Far more arcade based driving physics. Great fun and looks amazing. The addition of A.I. variants in terms of aggression make each race unique, and if you are overly aggressive the new nemesis system gives a skill boost to the driver you've wronged. Recommended to casual and serious racing enthusiasts alike. Track selection is somewhat limited at the moment but future DLC will certainly rectify that.

Best driving game on PS4 period, IF you’re a casual gamer. I used to have this on PS3 and loved it, sort of game you can put on and be racing in a couple of minutes. Unlike every other driving game on PS4 that are so convoluted. I’m sure the expert gamers out there will find this too easy but for a busy dad when you might have only half an hour spare it’s fun......oh and it drives/handles just how I remember it.

I’ve been a massive fan of this game franchise for a long time and this latest version steps up the level with their attention to detail. This game has been long overdue. If you like cars and driving/ racing games you will not be disappointed. Codemasters have once again raised the bar and further enhanced their reputation as the producers of the best driving games.

Good fun racing game. Have spent plenty of hours having a good time racing. Please note this is not a racing sim so if you are looking for physics sets ups etc. This isn’t for you but if you are looking for endless fun racing then I would recommend this arcade style racer. Fine with pad or wheel

Brilliant game. Waited a long time for a new grid game and this has to be the best grid game out. Huge campaign with lots of races and cars. Unfortunately not a huge selection of tracks. Overall worth the money and would recommend buying it

Fantastic game. Been waiting so long for a racing game to come along that will keep me hooked and this one does. Took a little while to get used to the way the car reacts. Graphics are great. Game play is great. Well worth the money

The game arrived well in time by the way but the game itself is brilliant special hardcore mode makes the whole Grid game more realistic by car action. But it's a great and fantastic game to play

Bought as a Christmas present for my grandson,so I can't really comment on the content, what I can say is that the buying experience, delivery etc. was 1st class no complaints from me.

This is a remake of the original grid and the racing and whole package is dated. To arcade but if you enjoyed the original well you know this is the same but better graphics

10.12.2019

Great arcade racer!! I wish a ps3 had these graphics as I wouldn’t of got a PS4!!! Slim on tracks but the ones they have are awesome!! Really enjoyable game...
