A friend of mine recently asked if I had an action camera. Unfortunately for him, I had sold my GoPro Hero 6 Black just a few days before, so he went out and bought the GoPro Hero 7 White. On the plus side, he loaned it to me for a day so I could test it.On the whole, it's a good action camera. There are, of course, many cheaper alternatives from China, but for a GoPro it's a decent camera. There are some flaws though, such as the bizarre 1920x1440 resolution recording rate.Pros-----* Improves upon previous GoPro entry level models in most areas* Microphones have been improved over earlier models (but there's still a lot of room for improvement)* Timelapse video mode works really well* Videoquality is good if you have natural light* Can charge via a USB type C cable and record at the same time* No need for external housing to use in waterCons------* Only records at a strange resolution of 1920x1440 pixels at 30 or 60 frames per second; despite the fact the box says 1080p* Doesn't have HDMI out, a replaceable battery, or the option to use the GoPro microphone adapter (you need to upgrade to the GoPro Hero 7 Black for those)* The GoPro app continues to be temperamental* Low light performance is, well, awful* Battery life is still average (though this is a problem all action cameras have)* Many cheaper alternatives are available from Chinese companies such as Yi and SJCam that offer similar performance and more featuresAll in all, the GoPro Hero 7 White is a good camera. If you really want a GoPro and don't need all the bells and whistles of the Hero 7 Black, this is a great option and the cheapest model available. If you don't care about your action camera being a GoPro, you may want to consider some cheaper Chinese equivalents as you will get a lot more recording resolutions and save some money too.:)

I had another manufacturers action camera but it went faulty and Amazon refunded me the price when I returned it. Thank you Amazon. I added some money to the refund and bought this as a replacement.I like Action Cameras they are compact and fun to use and give good results most of the time. The positives of this camera are as follows...Great Build Quality.Waterproof without a case.Takes great 1080 and 1440 video.Very acceptable photos.Close to £200 cheaper than the hero 7 black. The negatives are...You can’t change the battery but that’s common to other electronic devices that cost over £1000 - some mobile phones! It does occasionally freeze but that is definitely a firmware issue which GoProwill - I’m sure - fix in an update. So I’m pleased and hopefully will get quite a few years use out of it.On the point of no 4K video. I feel I should say a few things...For many of us the only device we can play it on is a 4K TV if you own one.If your internet is slow like mine it takes ages to upload. The files can be so big that you may have to buy a decent external disk to store them if your pc is old.So I am not bothered by lack of 4K on this camera.Added a while later.I had a bit of trouble getting my videos onto my Android phone but I decided it was my mobile. So I did a software repair on my mobile using the manufacturers PC software and then my GoPro started working with the phone for remote control and download. Also, I should say the video is really good and I found that I can get closer to subjects with my GoPro without loss of sharpness when compared to other Action Cameras.

1st gopro. Was between getting gopro or knock off for holiday. Mixed reviews but I went for gopro as they seem to have better product that I know will work and a support section if needed.Had issues at the beginning.Issues where Battery drain. Even if switched off. Would not last an hour. The problem was with the sd card. If you buy the ones compatible as per website, you won't have an issue. I've got the SanDisk extreme 32gb spec as per website and it works a treat. Also had trouble updating the firmware, but eventually did this manually. Not a big fan of the enclosed battery, but for my use it's more than enough. And it's waterproof so no additional cases needed. One thing I would say is the assescories.I think for the money, it should come with more. Ie case, card or stick. But still happy with the product. Will be using this on my holidays so can't wait. The other thing I would say is as it's an enclosed battery, unsure if a battery pack would work on the go to extend battery life. If the notes can clearly state as my help users buying.

Over the years I have used several GoPro action cameras (since the days they used full sized memory cards). This one is a "budget" model for the "7" range and only has basic features. No GPS, No Stabilisation, battery cannot be removed, lens cover cannot be removed / swapped and only 1080/1440 video resolution. It does however have a good touch screen. The image quality is very good but I was surprised that it suffers from the fish eye issue where anything straight not in the middle of the image e.g. the horizon goes all curved if you pan up or down.Integration with their Quik app works well and it can turn your long videos into quite exciting short video clips. The sound quality (if not windy)is not bad either. You may want to compare this with the cost of one of the Hero 6 models which offer batteries that can be swapped, GPS and can record in more video resolutions.Be careful not to damage the lens or touch screen and third party protectors are available which work pretty well.

GoPro have managed to squeeze some amazing technology into one tiny little camera. It's versatility above and under water is remarkable. If you need a camera that you can take anywhere, this is it. Because of the size the battery life is not what other larger devices will give you. The only other limitation worth noting is the camera is only useful for close pictures because of the nature and size of the camera-that's to be expected. But worth remembering so that if you're traveling, make sure you've got a good phone or other camera with you for "normal" pictures. FOr it's size, this is an amazing product and so worth what it cost.

Really happy with the white GoPro. Enjoy the simplicity of it, functions are easy to use, it connects to the app perfectly on iOS. Purchased it for my next visit to Florida, wanted something easy to handle for use in the water parks and for on boating/kayaking trips. Have not tried using it in the water yet but recently took it on a walk and i was really impressed with the quality. Had a issue where it froze on me, I just removed the memory card and held the power and the shutter button simultaneously for 10 second to reset it and it’s been fine since.

Just like when people say hoovers when they mean vacuum cleaners, and the program name Photoshop has become a verb, if you want to record yourself on the go, be it sports, motoring or any other medium that you can't use a standard camera - you look for one name alone, and that's GoPro. I avoided buying one in the past because they are so expensive, so I really did have to look twice when when I saw this GoPro in Argos for such an incredibly competitive price. Brilliant, no hesitation - buy it.

I owned an older GoPro previously but changed to a product from Akaso based on the higher specs. What I gained in specs, I lost in ease of use, app connectivity and overall user experience so after a couple of years away I've come back to GoPro.Whilst this is an entry level product I've been really happy with the quality, different modes available and most importantly the ease of use. Have only used this on my mountain bike so far but can't wait to take this on family holidays. Recommend!

Finally joined the GoPro bandwagon, mainly due to realistic Argos pricing. Budget Hero7 White does what it says on the tin but seems short of battery time with no spare option and no power lead access when mounted. Field Of View is fixed at extreme wide angle....zoom is only solution...awkward if wearing motorcycle gloves. Voice control is good but only after pressing power button. Kept clear of GoPro apps due to bad reviews...had to upgrade Apple iOS to import into iMovie for proper editing.

This was my first go pro and video camera. I wanted one for horse riding whilst I was hacking on the roads. I was torn between, the silver and black but decided to go with the lower price and thought I can always upgrade if I do like it and I do use it! Camera is small and light, fits easy onto my hat with a strap (available separately). It is very easy to set up and I am very happy with the video quality. I have only used it for short rides. It has froze on me once but it is easy to reset.

I bought this Go Pro for my holidays, it is a brilliant tool, it takes great photos, & videos we used it when we went snorkelling the footage is brilliant clear waters, great colours of the fish etc, & using the go pro app u can make quick stories that build up ur footage into a montage changing the music to suit, I love this Go Pro it’s the first time I’ve used it, it’s small & easy to use it also have voice commands, I also have the Go Pro stick which is useful & the head straps.

I bought my GoPro Hero7 camera specially to record my 512ft Charity Abseil down the Barclays Tower at Canary Wharf in support of the Lord Mayor's Appeal on 5.7.19. Attached to the top of the helmet of someone who abseiled down with me, it caught all the video action, including the sound, perfectly. It was easy to pair with my iPhone using the free GoPro app and all the photos and the video are now on both my iMac and my iPhone. It's easy to use and I would recommend it to anyone.

I bought this for a snowmobiling holiday so that I didn't risk damaging my phone to get photos. Perfect for what I needed it for. Only thing to be aware of is that these really are designed for iPhone and with my Samsung, I had loads of trouble setting it up with the app even though they make it for android too. I had to buy SD card adaptors and set it up manually and its temperamental whether it will link and send the pictures to the app on my phone.

This straight forward simple to operate GoPro was perfect for my requirements. Yes it doesn’t have all the functions of the higher priced GoPro’s, and only shoots in 1080p, however the clarity of the video and sound is amazing. Simply choose video, photo or time lapse mode, and your good to go. Perfect for holidays and any adventures. Can even view and hear the footage via its own in built screen and speaker. Very pleased with my purchase!

Decent quality photos and videos. Not packed with features but has the build quality from a good brand. Basic but perfect for someone like me a part time adventurer. Battery life average but turning off WiFi and other settings does make it last longer. If you want something packed with features and you want to swap out batteries for long filming periods I would consider going for the Black model. “A good entry level GoPro”
