I've been looking for a small Go Pro type camera since getting back into cycling and starting to commute to and from work. After a few close call with inconsiderate drivers I decided it was time to take the plunge.Obviously there's a well known name in this area and I began looking at which of their multitude of models might be suitable. The first thing that struck me was, there's a lot of choice and they generally cost a lot of money. Now, I'm not looking to make professional movies but I want a decent image and I may want to use it for other things - I'm going canoeing this weekend so it might be nice to use it there, I also do a bit of climbing too. Thing is, Go Pro have so many models at various price points, but unless you want to spend £300 plus, you could find it doesn't do everything you need. I also had a look at the various reviews of Go Pro products and found a common theme, confusing range, prices too high, not good value for money. It seems the company is also struggling because of this. So, I took a look at Amazon and the deals of the day and spotted this. For £30 it seemed too good to be true - a 4K camera that comes with all the bits and pieces I want plus a remote control and WiFi support? Worth a punt I thought.Definitely it was - certainly not a bad looking piece of kit, small, compact and light too. Image quality is excellent and there are plenty of menu options to play with. I'm using it on standard 1080P and it's very impressive, not yet tried the 4K in anger but it's certainly looks decent. Battery life is good, I've charged it once so far and used it for my 15 minute commute, twice a day for a week and it's just showing low battery. You get a second battery included and a lead to charge when they are in the camera (standard micro USB) but I decided it was worth spending just over an extra tenner on a linked offer for a couple of extra batteries and separate charger. The accessories supplied are numerous and overwhelming at first. I spent hours trying different combinations of arms, screws, pads and Velcro straps to try and get the thing attached to my helmet. Unfortunately, nothing quite fitted well enough for me to trust it not to wobble so I moved onto trying to attach something to my bike frame. Again, unfortunately the fittings there just didn't quite fit as I'd like - the piece I suspect is for use on a bike just wouldn't fit around my frame or handlebars as I have a mountain bike. I suppose that's one thing I would say could do with improvement - the manual shows different pictures of the bits fitted together but doesn't really explain what is for what, it's a case of trial and error although, given there are so many different scenario's this camera will be used in, it would be quite hard to cover everything. If I was being picky, I'd say it could do with a bigger clamp to fit on helmets or frames. In the end, I've now attached it to the straps on my rucksack and, to be honest, it's probably a lot better there anyway. It's early days yet but I have to say that, so far, I'm impressed

I purchased this mainly for my daughter. She and some friends are soon going on holiday with their horses and it will be the first time she has ridden on the beach/sea and I thought this would be a better way to record their experience rather than having to hold their phones in one hand.I am a very keen photographer and I have a lot of high end, high quality equipment so I was considering buying a GoPro as they seem to be considered the best in this field? Then I remembered she asked for a good compact camera, which we purchased at some expense but she hardly ever used and now resides in my glove box!So I decided to purchase an action camera which had good reviews but an actual fraction of the cost of a GoPro just to see.At least it can be used as a 'horse cam' for the rare occasions she has to use the public roads to record some of those dangerous inconsiderate idiots who pass to close or sound their horns, rev their engines and intimidate and spook horses and riders!I am used to complicated photographic equipment, but this was really so easy and straight forward to set up. Good clear instructions and an easy to use menu on the camera itself.I really do have to admit I was rather sceptical about the quality of the images at this price? But I have to admit on viewing the images and videos she had taken as a practice, they are really very good. We viewed them on the TV using the HDMI output. Not only do you get a very good action camera at a great price. It's waterproof too! Great for if it's 'P' ing down with rain or getting splashed riding in the sea? I wish that something like this was available 20 years or so a go for when I was still aloud to go SCUBA diving and I could of recorded all of those magical dives, but underwater equipment then was just so ridiculously expensive!I have given this 5 stars all round. At these prices how can you not? Plus you get the added bonus of a spare battery so you should be able to use it for most of the day?You also get a good variety of fittings. Many I/she will never use. My only criticism is there wasn't a suitable attachment (or I couldn't find one?) to fit a horse riding helmet which I had to purchase a adjustable strap separately. In summary a great bit of kit at an amassing price!Would I recommend it? Absolutely! In fact. A lot of her friends have inquired about it and can't believe the price and also seriously considering purchasing one!I'm just happy that my daughter can record her memories and have a good back up in case it is ever needed and it hasn't cost me an arm and a leg!Horses are her passion and now this is all set up on one of her helmets I am confident it will get a lot of use.Obviously there are a lot of similar products out there in the same price range. I can't comment on them, all I can say is that I am extremely pleased with my purchase!I wanted to post some of the videos, but she has asked me not to as her friends are in most of them and she hasn't asked or got permission to share them which I totally respect and understand.

Crosstour CT9000 V5.120-B - Price £36.79 with discount, normally £50.99Note that I'm comparing this action cam with my WiMius cam purchased about 2 and a half years ago. (side by side they look very similar) I am not an expert in action camera specs, just an ordinary consumer, so bear that in mind as you read on.The WiMius cam cost me around £76 and came with all the same accessory pack and extra battery. Prices have really come down a lot since i bought the WiMius. There are so many of these action cams coming out of China and they are all pretty much similar to each other, they use the same software have similar phone apps ect, ect.Video capture: There's not a huge difference in picture or video quality between both action cams,OK the 4K video is marginally better on the Crosstour. The main difference between the two cameras was the LCD view screen which was a lot larger on the Crosstour, as well as the remote control for the Crosstour, although you can use your phone as a remote if needed on any of these action cams.Functions and settings are limited on the Crosstour compared to the WiMius*Does have self timer control for normal shots The WiMius has 3 time intervals (3sec,5 sec,10 sec)*No audio control for microphone (you can turn this on or off with Wimius cam)*No motion sensor on Crosstour but available on the WiMius*Image stabilizer - no setting (perhaps auto ?) available on the WiMius*no Car mode on Crosstour, and this available on the WiMiusSetting up and using the Crosstour action cam was very straight forward, as I said before there all pretty much the same operation, probably came out of the same factory.**Time stamp error on Crosstour (off/on) (Date) (Date & Time) separate Date & Time main setting. This kept looping back to main setting every time I tried to get into the setting, it finally corrected itself (glitch)You get an incentive offer from company to write positive review (I did not take them up on this offer) So completely unbiased.Crosstour on 4K ? is it better or noticeable? Yes...just! The video sample was taken on a dull day, so wasn't as good because of low light, it doesn't handle low light very well, audio was good, but a bit too inadequate and small, no audio setting to adjustSD micro card was a little fiddly to slot inNavigation & direct control via buttons on the Crosstour is much easier, so you don't have to spend to much time going into settings.Overall the Crosstour could do with a bit more control in settings, but there's not a lot of difference between the two, except for the price. The Crosstour action cam is a fantastic product it's cheap and has good quality video and picture capture. If you are on a tight budget then you can’t do much better.

So I finally - after help from the support team - got this camera to work. And I have amended my review accordingly.Good points:1. Price. For around £30-35, it's not a bad little camera. Picture quality when played back on a PC is actually pretty good considering the size of camera and the price!2. Accessories you get with it - probably worth buying for this alone if you want cheap Go-pro accessories. A good range of attachments for all kinds of activity... except cycling (see below).3. Picture/video quality - is actually pretty good for the price. Distortion at the edges, but if you buy the CT9000-NEW rather than the CT9000, this improves through a new distortion setting for low frame rate HD video. But 4K still quite fish-eye. Picture quality for non video is also quite good.4. 2 batteries, 1050mAh, each will power the camera for exactly an hour on video recording with the screensaver on & wifi enabled. (I know because I tested & timed it!)5. Support, once they get back to you , are helpful.6. The App - once you get it to work - is very useful as well. Not so good:1. Batteries only last 1 hour. If you're a cyclist like me, 1 hour isn't very long. I really did buy this product to video any issues I may have on the road, and switching batteries after an hour is a bit of a pain.2. Cyclists - this will NOT fit on your handlebars if you have a standard 31.8mm bar or stem. You will need to buy another fixing accessory. It's also a little too big and cumbersome to fit to a helmet for road biking, but you could place it on your body with a chest strap.3. The camera is very fussy over which SD card you use. The first one I put in (SanDisk 32GB class 10) caused it to block the settings menu, and I couldn't change or save any settings. The second one (a 64GB Ulta SANDISK, £7.79 here on Amazon) works fine. I've already emailed support to let them know of this problem.4. User interface is not brilliant, and the instruction manual is not very well written.5. The app initially takes a real amount of effort to get it working. It doesn't work with Samsung phones very well, according to the Support team. But once it's set up, it's pretty good.6. Did I mention the battery life ?So, overall, for a £30-35 camera, it's OK. Not as amazing as all the reviews on here (but I've not tried it underwater), but it does a very reasonable job for the price. The main problems for me are the corner distortion on the video (which you can improve with the new CT9000-NEW camera for resolutions under 1080P) and the ability to use it on a cycle for safety tracking over an hour long journey.Overall, though, it's OK for the price and good value for non cycling applications

im updating this review after recently going out on a bike ride to properly test the camera and get some footage. on first inspection it seems like a solid budget choice for anyone wanting their first action cam. it comes with a nice selection of accessories for mounting the phone to a bike helmet, dashboard, selfie stick and various other things which is nice. also comes with a replacement battery and basic instruction manual that lets you know you can pair the camera with your phone via the 'official app' but there is no mention of what the app is called. i found out later that it is called iSmart DV on the android app store. ok thenthe camera doesn't come with any sort of memory card so isnt functional out-of-the-box.you have to go and buy a micro sd card. friend of mine got a similar priced action cam here off amazon and recieved a free 32gb sd card after leaving a product review so a promo like that or just a small sd card bundled in would sweeten the deal a lot. the camera also apparently only supports up to 32gb micro sd but im using a 64gb sandisk extreme in it with no problems yet.the main issue that i discovered with this camera after being out on my bike with it recording for less than an hour is .. battery life. granted i had it paired to my phone so i could control it remotely and make sure i was recording my ride at an optimal angle etc but the camera went dead after like 45 minutes. that is truly appalling. and of course i didn't bother to take the spare battery so .. RIP any sort of good footage on the downhill part of the ride.when i got home and plugged the camera into my windows pc though the footage i did get seemed ok. i chose to record at 1080p over 4k as the 4k is only 25fps which is just .. not great. the camera also records in around 30 minute clips. when i loaded up the folder with the video recordings there were 5 seperate files even though i didnt manually stop and continue the recording.next time i head out with it ill try it without the wifi and take the spare battery and hopefully manage to capture a full run but on first use i wasn't super impressed by the camera but for 40 pounds i cant really complain that much either.all in all its worth buying if you dont fancy forking out the big bucks for a GoPro and just want a cheap action cam for whatever occasions. 4/5follow-up 28/02/2018: i was contacted by the seller after initially leaving my 3/5 product review and asked if there was anything they could do to make up for my mild dissatisfaction with product. the seller offered to just refund the item without having to return it or send me a replacement free of charge. seller gets 5/5 for customer service

After a months upon months of my nephew walking around with one of my GoPro’s in his hand... usual child with dreams of being the next big youtuber whilst filming himself watching someone film themselves opening an easter egg... He asked me for one for Christmas. Now he’s 9. It took me a while to convince myself to upgrade my GoPro’s. And i manage to break them. I couldnt see the point of spending that much money on a GoPro for a child who will probably put it in the bath without a case on and who has this amazing ability of falling off curbs. So we settled on one of these. It was cheap enough, it had a screen, it came with a few accessories and if he did break it falling up the stairs it wouldnt be a big deal since you know...It’s under £50. Not over £200. He could have fun with it without worrying about destroying an expensive product. When it came, i obviously tested it, mostly to makesure it worked for him to open on christmas morning. I ended up taking it to wales on a quick mountain bike trip to test its full capability. Now, i own a few GoPros, Ranging from old to new so i wasnt expecting much from this camera!Boy was i shocked. The camera itself held up even after a few minor crashes and hits from flying rocks. I exported the footage and had a look at it and i was surprised at how clear everything was.I accidentally took it out for another test. Just to double check it would hold up against a 9 year old who thinks hes a stunt man who once got ran over off a parked car. This time there was a big crash. Again, the camera held up... better than i did. After a few days of testing i ordered another. (I couldnt give my nephew a camera with a scratched up case afterall). He got the new one. I got the one i tested. After christmas i was still shocked and impressed i ordered another one (a second one) for myself. The best thing is the majority of the accessories i have for my GoPros fit on these cameras. I did notice the sound isnt as good, there are fewer settings than a GoPro. But ITS NOT A GOPRO and I paid a quarter of the price of a GoPro. a 9 year old is happy to film nothing and everything. Myself, as a 26 year old idiot who gets in fights with concrete, dirt and trees is happy i can have more cameras.Ive recommended this product to a few mountain bike/ snowboarding and skateboarding friends. Who all laughed at me (to be honest i would laugh and tell them ‘it aint no gopro tho bro!’) i shown them the raw footage... they were speachless. And If they eventually break in a crash. We can just order new ones without having to take out a mortgage on our souls to pay for.

Ok so I was a little dubious concidering what you are paying for this but I am happily surprised. The first thing I panicked about was I ordered this Friday night and it came the next day. But when I went online on Saturday Crosstour had upgraded this to 20mp camera so I thought I was going to be stuck with the 16mp ordering 5 hours before the update. Turned out I got the 20mp camera too so off to a good start. The camera and accessories come in a simple box but we'll packed. The camera itself is tiny which isn't a bad thing but I've never had an action camera so was quite surprised. The running theme here is suprise as you'll read on.Build quality is good the buttons feel sturdy and the accessories all feel quality although I have no clue what half of them are for.I bought 2 of these for mine and my partners trip to Mexico as I don't want to be carrying expensive phones with me and swimming with them. My idea was find a camera that wasn't expensive take it in the water and on trips and keep the memories (little does she know there are some special ones planned whilst there). I wanted the ability to be able to upload the photos to my phone each night so that if worst case we lose or break them then we won't lose all our pictures and videos made so far. This appeared to tick those box's with the fact it has wi-fi too making downloading each night simple. So reading other reviews I didn't think the app would be very polished but hey guess what surprisingly it is. You can alter settings download the images and even move them from the app to the phone, the cool thing is you can even use your phone as the screen which is handy. The wi-fi side of things I thought you'd have to connect phone and camera to the same network but that's not the case either as the camera transmits it's own WiFi signal so you don't need internet to move files.Camera and video quality is impressive lots of different modes and the 1080p video lets you do 120 FPS so good for slow Mo and action videos. Camera pictures so far look really good, image stabilization isn't the best but for everything we've got and what I paid that's minor to me I'll just keep my hand steady for the pictures. The only things I can't comment on yet are battery life and how good it is underwater but I will update when we get back. There are alot of reviews due to the free gift you get for reviewing and I'll admit that's why I was going to write a review but genuinely everything I've wrote is my honest opinion. For the money I'm truly happy. Worth a try

I have always fancied buying a go pro camera, but could never justify the price to myself, as I suspected that after my normal few weeks of tinkering with it, it would be confined to my pile of gadgets that ‘seemed like a good idea at the time’That’s when I stumbled across the Crosstour 16mp 4K action cam. The price was a tiny fraction of the flagship ‘go pro’ camera, so to be honest I didn’t expect too much, but I placed my order. Under £40 delivered for all that was quoted.... camera and a big bundle of accessories... surely this couldn’t be any good?Well, the camera box arrived the following day via Amazon prime delivery service. The first thing I noticed as I took it out the delivery case was the absolute premium feel and quality of the packaging.... a good start I thought (photos included for reference). On opening the box, the camera was already housed in its underwater case. A great touch I thought, as it offered perfect protection for transit. This sat next to a box full of individually wrapped accessories. Incredible. The camera and all the various mounts and accessories are of excellent build quality. Far beyond any expectation I had for the price paid. So many accessories in fact, I doubt I will ever get round to using them all.Within ten minutes, I had managed to attach the small cradle attachment to the top of my selfie stick (previous purchase) and set about testing it out. The battery was almost charged on receipt, with a spare in the box too.The camera is easy to use, but has plenty options at the same time. I chose to pair mine with a 32gb Sandisk micro SD card (that’s the maximum capacity the camera accepts). I picked up a class 10 one from Amazon as part of the same order for £9 with a free SD card adapter. Very nice! The camera can take still photos or videos at various resolutions, and so far I am impressed with everything about it.Other reviews have said that the sound onboard the camera was almost non existent, which is indeed correct, however when you play any videos back from the memory card on a computer or Mac, the sound is perfect with no issues, and I have been very impressed with the picture and video quality produced thus far.I’m still in the early stages with it, so still to fully test all the functions and get to grips with it properly, not to mention I haven’t got a clue what some of the mounts and brackets are for, but this little camera and accessory package is serious value for money and potentially one of my best purchases from Amazon.

The Crosstour CT9000 is very reliable. Small and really light, it looks like it will be the perfect companion for bike rides, hikes and even jogs. The waterproof casing does what it's meant for while still letting you use all the buttons on the camera.Picture quality is very impressive for such a cheap camera. Videos are really good too (do not rely on the preview from the camera. Export it onto PC for full quality !) and sound quality is ok. There is several modes for picture/video. I have not yet tried them all properly but they definitly add to the experience. The camera can be connected to a smartphone through an App. In my experience, it is very unreliable !The app shuts down unexpectedly quite often which is very frustrating as it is also quite difficult to do the initial connection. However, I was not really going to use the app anyway so it does not bother me too much.Accessories : Well, to be fair, there is only a handful of accessories. From the description, I was expecting a bit more but accessories are dirt cheap so I'll just get a set. On top of the waterproof casing, you have a bike fitting, a few straps (for fittings to bike helmet, arm, …), a standard tripod connector (but no tripod included ! This is clear from the pictures in description), a spare battery, a remote control (very useful if you use the camera as a body cam or fitted onto something that is but NOT WATERPROOF !) and several connections that can be fitted together. It does take a bit of time to work things out if this is your first time but they are very basic. Definitely not enough for a proper use of a so-called Action Cam !Overall I am very impressed with this Crosstour CT9000. For a fraction of a Go Pro price, you cannot go wrong ! I would strongly suggest to invest in the charging station and, as mentionned above, a kit of accessories to fully enjoy your action cam. Of course, this is not a Go Pro ! but the quality of it is absolutely brilliant for the price you pay.Note that in exchange of my HONEST review, Crosstour is offering me an accessory as a gift. Yet, my review express for honest feeling about this product and is, in no way, influenced by the seller or the company.

This is a review of the Crosstour CT9000 as supplied by Amazon UK. Having used a GoPro Hero 4 for the last four years I ordered this as I wanted a cheap, simple, action camera with a viewfinder! It’s main use will be for snorkelling and catching snippets of film as I travel. I cannot yet say how this will perform underwater but my first impressions are positive from the initial unboxing and setup which is pretty straightforward if you read the accompanying manual. Remember to insert a battery, insert and format an appropriate memory card and switch off screen time out if you want the screen to remain active for longer periods when recording. The lens is fixed at 170 degrees and gives a fisheye angle perspective .Film and photos are therefore best taken at a distance to avoid accompanying distortion. If you want to set wide, narrow fields of view etc you need a different and more expensive model. The camera responds well on auto settings to varying light levels although you can adjust ISO settings etc in the menu which is navigated via the use of four buttons on the body. No touchscreen. Images to date are good for the price point. The camera’s weak spot is audio although it is not as bad as some reviews would have you believe. You can film with or without sound and there are a wide range of other parameters that you can change unlike say, the basic GoPro Hero 7 white entrant offering. The camera comes with two batteries (charged via USB cable) and a plethora of mount accessories including a waterproof case! The software used to view and download, DV KING 4, is very basic but worked first time outputting to both my iPhone and iPad. No video editor is included in DV King 4. Amazingly Clips can subsequently be edited using the on board apple video editor!, I paid £32 on an Amazon offer for this product and, at this price and functionality, I cannot really fault the package unless of course it stops working or the waterproof casing leaks. Only time will tell. The camera comes with 12 months warranty. Overall product presentation is nice and I have some confidence that it will do the job.

The camera arrived in really nice packaging and already inside the waterproof housing for added protection in transit. The packaging is strong and sturdy. I was surprised at how small and light the camera itself was at 6 cm wide, 4 cm deep an just over 2cm thick ! I bought a "MENGMI Micro SD Card 64GB Class 10" SD card on amazon also and it works a treat. Just pop it in and format it and you're away ! The package also contains a separate box that contains all the accessories, remote control, wristband, bike attachment...etc. all individually bagged - The attachment all seem of the standard (Go Pro style) connector type.I found the instruction book to clear, legible and well written...do yourself a favour and take the time to read it.Operation of the camera could not be simpler, there are only four buttons - Easy.I downloaded the "DV KING 4K" app to my android phone and it was easy to pair with my phone via WiFi...The app works well and you can now use your phone as a remote control for the camera and also download pictures and videos when connected, so thumbs up for the app.I have the video set at 1080p 60 FPS which seems to be great ! I don't have a 4k TV so I do not use this setting - plus the higher the resolution, the more space your recording will consume on your SC Card. I have the Camera setting set at 20 MP and it takes brilliant pictures, they are sharp and crisp with good tones. This is our first action camera and I was eager to test it in the water with the kids...got the opportunity 2 weekends ago when the weather was really warm and sunny. I Put the camera in the waterproof case and gave it to my nine year old daughter...she took some great videos in the lake and needless to say the waterproof case is great and keeps the camera nice and dry (there is a good silicone gasket with a tight seal). She loves this camera now.All in all, great little camera for the money and I would whole-heartedly recommend this to anyone looking to buy their first action camera. You won't be disappointed.

I have no links to Crosstour, and the impression is based on what I've found. If it was crap I would say so, but read on.......For those who are unsure about buying this camera, fear not, and do it. Why have I come to this conclusion ? Well, last year I bought a 'tube' type camera, to attach to a motorcycle helmet. While the concept was good, the application was rubbish, and if you read up on them, you will see why. Numerous times, I returned home to find the camera had failed to record anything, as it was difficult to know if it was on or not, and when it did record, the quality was poor. Now forward to the Crosstour CT9000. First impression out of the box is that it has an excellent finish, with protective film on all the delicate surfaces. It is light, and easy to mount with the brackets supplied. As for setting up, logical and straight forward, and while it comes with instructions, the device itself is intuitive, and once in the main menu, instructions are unnecessary. Thought has been put in to the menu's and the operation of the camera. The quality of the video is excellent, with no lagging, or jumping of the picture as you pan. It has a 2 button remote, one for starting and stopping the video recording, and the other for taking photos. This for me saves having to feel for the control buttons while its attached to my motorcycle helmet. It also has the ability to send a wifi signal to be picked up by a mobile phone, via an app. With a 32gb micro sd card, the camera informs me of nearly 3 hours of recording at 1080p, and with it set to loop, and a claimed 90 minutes of recording per battery, and 2 batteries, all the bases seem covered. Its always a big decision to make, and while some people will love it, others will hate it, because, it is a personal thing. All I can say is what I have found, and I would recommend it. How so much can be fitted in such a small device, and for the cost amazes me, having never owned a gopro, I fail to see why I would need to now.

The important thing to remember here is the price of the product. At £40 (or around that mark), you're not going to be taking on the likes of the latest GoPro's. However, don't let that put you off. I've been thoroughly impressed with this camera since I've got it. In the box comes 2x batteries, a remote, and a bunch of mounts, sticky pads and accessories. Aside from a Micro SD card, everything you'd need to use this camera properly is included in the box!For the price point, the image is amazing! I haven't tried the 4K options yet, however the 1080 is more than good enough, and I'd have no problem cutting this with other cameras such as my Canon C100. Low Light performance is okay,no cameras of this size have great low light performance. To get the best image out of the camera in low light, I've found that setting it to -0.7 EV works best.Battery performance is good! Obviously, with WiFi on, it's going to be worse but that can be easily disabled. If you don't mind paying for an extra housing, and don't need the waterproof, just drill a hole in the side of the housing and then you can power if off a USB power bank and run it forever. The wifi on this works well, there is virtually 0 latency when previewing through the app and is great for when you're mounting in awkward to reach locations. Such as on an AC unit 9ft in the air.Suggestions:- The ability to turn off the LCD would be nice just to save battery.- Record light on the front of the cameraMy use for this camera is filming concerts, it's always used to get side, or awkward angles that a big camera couldn't such as on drums, guitars and looking up mic stands. I chose this because of the price and how often I use it. I don't use these types of cameras enough to warrant spending hundreds on a top end GoPro so this works perfectly, and if something happens to it, it's not mega expensive to replace. I'm seriously considering ordering 5 more of these to place in cool locations at gigs!

I have never owned an action camera before and was looking for something that I could take decent pictures and videos with whilst swimming, snorkelling and skiing whilst travelling, without paying 2-3 times the cost of my actual camera. This action camera fits the bill perfectly - it's a great starter's camera, fairly simple to operate, easy to transfer the pictures, comes with lots of useful accessories and is actually affordable!! It is remarkably lightweight and small and even with all the accessories fits into a small box.The picture and video quality is decent too - think like decent camera phone levels and better than my friend's GoPro picture quality from a couple of years ago,so 5 stars relative to that, although don't expect DSLR quality (and why would you?). Sound is a bit quiet (hence 3 stars), but to be expected and for what I will be using it for (underwater and skiing), I am not worried by this. The remote control, water case and spare battery are all great added extras that alone would cost more than the camera itself if you bought the GoPro versions. The provided cases screw on to my tripods and selfie stick, so no compatibility issues there. I personally really like the ability to control the camera via my phone and see the pictures and videos I have taken and delete them or download them etc. as well as controlling some of the camera settings. It's a cool little feature. Reading reviews it seems that some people have had issues with the app, but I haven't experienced those (using Android 8.0).The battery itself lasts reasonably well - although connecting via wifi does drain it quicker. The battery rating gets 4 stars though because of the spare battery and whilst I am not using the camera I can charge it using my portable power pack. One minor point is that the sound switches itself back on, but I'll get over that.Overall I'm happy with my purchase and the value for money and looking forward to trying it out in anger.

I bought this to take on our family holiday this summer, as I was looking for something small, rugged and waterproof to take with me, as a complement to my compact camera and phone. My initial impressions on receiving it were good; it comes equipped with a large number of accessories, the most useful of which for me was the waterproof housing... it pretty much lived in this while we were on holiday, mounted on a (separately purchased) handle. The kit includes a wireless remote shutter, which I also attached to the handle. This made it very easy to just pull out and use for video or still pictures, especially in situations where you wouldn’t always pull out your regular camera, or phone...on the beach, on a rollercoaster, and on a river rapids ride are only three examples.Video quality is great; I mainly used the 2.7k 30fps setting, as a compromise to conserve memory card space, but I did take a couple with the 4K and 2.7k 60fps settings, and was very impressed by them, especially the higher frame rate. Audio is a wee bit quiet, probably a result of it being in the waterproof housing, but still acceptable.I was less pleased with the still photos, which seemed a wee bit desaturated, but that’s easy corrected on your computer, or indeed phone. However, they were of good quality, with plenty of detail on the 16mp widescreen setting. I’ve attached a couple of samples to this review. The WiFi functionality was great for letting me review photos and videos on a larger screen, and also to share on social media without the need to download to a PC.Battery life was great... it generally lasted me all day, and I only once needed to change to the spare battery which I kept with me.Is it as good as a GoPro? Maybe not, but then it is a fraction of the cost, with a great feature set. I was happy with my choice of budget Action Cam, and I think you would be too, if you’re looking for a budget alternative to the name brands.
