If you've never tried maraschino liqueur, don't expect it to taste like juicy cherries (try Cherry Heering instead for that). Maraschino liqueur is made from cherry pits as opposed to the flesh and has a very unique, floral, cherry/almond flavour, a little soapy even. Compared to the classic Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, which is nearly twice the price, Giffard's version has the same essential flavours, the only real difference is that they aren't as intense (not necessarily a bad thing), and the Giffard has a slightly lower proof - 25% as opposed to 32%. I think I actually prefer the pungency dialled back a little as maraschino liqueur can easily dominate and overpower in cocktails,

Very pleased wiith this indeed. Find it a lovely taste and it works great for mixing with gin for cocktails (Aviation etc.). Will definitely buy again when the bottle is empty.

really nice, better than other brands I've tried, I warn you I've not splashed up for Luxardo yet so cant compare it to that but so far it's the best I've had
