Looked for a long time at various chess sets. I actually bought a chess set from Regency Chess as they had very good customer reviews but after a week of waiting for it to arrive they suddenly cancelled my order so had to look elsewhere.I was worried that this chess set would be more of a child's set, inferior quality and not suitable for an adult. I wanted a smaller set in case I wanted to display it and was short of space.When it arrived I was happy before I opened the box as it was much heavier than I expected. It was very well packaged too and came in a nice gift box.The black case is actually very nice and pieces are stored in draw string felt bags but upon reading reviews about difficulties

Beautiful, quality chess board and nice, weighty pieces, too; all amounting to a real joy to play what is undoubtedly the greatest board-game - ever!The black, leatherette type case is a nice touch; and has three compartments, one isn't really needed but may come in handy for something. The board itself fold up and fits snugly inside the case over the compartments. The chess pieces come in two black cloth bags.Lovely product, and one I highly recommend.

Product is an excellent design and quality is good however the pictures on Amazon were a little misleading and I didn't pick up on the fact it was a folding chess board. Weve kept the product as all other aspects of it were so good and when the board is open it is barely noticeable that it is hinged but it was disappointing that this detail was not more obvious to purchasers of this item as it had been more easily identified on other similar merchandise.

Its a chess set, not much more to say. The pieces feel substantial and the board and case are practical without being fiddly. I like it it is very good.My one complaint would be on the standard of the quality control, one of the knight's manes was chipped and I had to tighten some of the screws in the board's folding mechanism to stop it wobbling about.Still, all said I would probably buy this product again.

Good quality chess sets seem very hard to come by at a reasonable price. I have recently had my fingers burned buying sets which I have had to return because the pieces were finished so poorly. This set bucks this trend, with very satisfyingly finished pieces, and a sturdy folding board, all contained in a nice case. This is where the rest of the industry should be aiming for mid level chess sets!

Having previously ordered a much cheaper chess set from a different company and been very disappointed with the quality I was very pleased with the quality and size of the pieces. Although quite expensive it was worth the money. A full size board that is easy to store in the case with the chess pieces. A pleasure to use.

Lovely set, nicely made and good quality. Nicely weighted. Only down side is all the pieces in a Bag, not placed so can be slightly difficult to align pieces and board in Box to allow it to close but that is very minor. It would have been nicer if they had included draught pieces too in the set.

This is a really good buy, it's not cheap but a very good investment, it will last for years and you and your family and friends will get a lot of fun and entertainment from it. It is also very attractive on the coffee table!

It's not the cheapest set. The quality of the board and prices is great. The quality of the faux leather box isn't impressive and I don't think I'd trust the handle but apart from that I really lovely traditional chess set.

Great chess set for a very reasonable price, well made pieces, good quality board and carry case, all fits away neat and tidy in the case, nice touch to have the felt bases on all of the chess pieces overall a great gift

What an exceptionally high quality chess set.Each piece well defined along with a high quality chess board, and carrying case.Highly recommended as a gift or for personal use.

This chess set is no toy. Lovely quality wooden pieces and board, in handy travel case. Bought two, grand children love them. Only trouble now is I get no peace.

Our son and his family were delighted with this chess set at Christmas. Perfectly good quality and even a case to put it away in, so you don't lose the pieces.

I bought this as a present for a friend. He was really pleased with it, It looks more expensive that it actually is. Would make a lovely present.

Exceedingly Good Value. Pieces very nicely made. Wooden Board excellent. Quick delivery. Highly Recommended. Oh, and the Grandson loved it too!
