Found this item on Amazon after a good trawl of the net.Having built a raised outdoor chess board in my garden this year, I was looking for a sturdy set of pieces at a reasonable price.This set fitted the bill a treat. All the pieces are a good size and its immediately obvious from the shapes which pieces are which. Iv found this important when playing the game with children as they are easily confused when the pieces all look similar.The only down side was that the pieces are very light which would be expected for the price, a gust of wind will send them flying round the lawn,I have , however, been able to combat this by slitting the bases with a hot sharp knife and putting about three inches of play sand into them.

I ordered this to use on a chess board paving area. We were thinking of the really giant size set, but at 10 times the price for a set not that much larger, I wasn't sure how much use we would get for that price. This set, although light, is a good usable size for outdoors and is by no means much too small for the size of our squares. It is also more easy to store than a huge set. The seller was very efficient, the item was delivered extremely quickly and was beautifully wrapped. A great purchase for our requirements.

I ordered this as a prop for an Alice in Wonderland fancy dress party. I didn't realise at the time of ordering that the company did not deliver to Northern Ireland (??) however I was contacted by the seller to advise me that they would deliver which was greatly appreciated. THe product itself is large thou not sure how robust it would be on a windy day if using it out in the garden as the chess board itself is plastic and quite flimsy - over all though this is a good product for the price.

Think this is very good value for money and fun to play. King does stand at 30cm so it is quite a good height. Larger sets cost several hundred pounds. So this is fine for me. However unless you have a very flat lawn the mat needs thinking about. Either stick it to a hard board or stand it on a patio area.

Good size, as the price suggests cheap moulded and very light, as suggested in the review, filled the base with silver sand, about 15Kg overall. It is great fun. Put the Chess Board on a hard board base, I had left over from another project.

Bought for school play times along with large draughts to play on large chess board outside. Used everyday. Children love them. Good price too. Would have liked a carry case with them though!

A great product bought for a themed party. It made a great feature in the White Queens court from Alice in wonderland.

This has been bought as a Christmas present so has not been used yet. Opened up and although lightweight looks good.

It's fun but the pieces are not very heavy so can blow over and the same for the chess board.
