The chess set is a good size for transporting around for holidays and the such like.I prefer a more substantial set for one location use i.e. at homeOverall a simple straightforward set for mobile use.The only negative about it is the chess booklet you get with it. The text is so small you need a magnifying glass to be able to read it. Did the printers/designers not think it odd to print a document that you can't read unaided?However, still a good solid 4 stars.

So i thought the chess board its self could of been a little bit bigger and that there would be holders inside the chess board to hold the pieces rather then just chucking them in and then they get damaged over time due to them being loose. but apart from that i thought it was a good quality board for the price of it.. chess pieces at good quality, easy to use and move about. all in all 10 out of 10. !

I bought this for my 8 year old. It is a lovely set for beginners. The pieces are a good size and the board folds to make a storage for them. They feel good quality for the price and the box/board is nicely finished. I particularly wanted a set that stored the pieces but most seemed to be travel size so this was good as it is compact but not so small that it's fiddly to play.

I bought this for my 8 year old son who wanted to learn chess. It is a perfect size, both the board and pieces are mde of wood and finished to a high quality. The board folds closed with space to put the pieces inside. It is very much like the traditional chess sets but with a magnetic catch to keep the board together. We are really pleased with it, an excellent buy.

This is a incredibly well made for the price. Beautiful wooden box and pieces. No plastic including plastic packaging. Only downside is pieces are light so knock over a little easily, but heavier wood would be much more expensive, so really can’t complain for the money. Looked at other wooden chess sets online and they were upwards of three times the price.

I got this for my son for Christmas, he has only just started playing chess and I found this set to be just perfect. It is smaller than a standard size board but this also means he can take it with him as it’s small enough for a back pack. All the pieces pack away nicely in the board which is well made for the money. Very pleased with it.

I recently took up chess again after several years absence and I looked around for a reasonably priced set to get started again. I was very impressed with the quality and appearance of this set when I opened the box. This is an excellent starter chess set for anyone wishing to take up this absorbing game. Highly recommended

It is a present for my son who oves playing a chess. Kasparov designed very good chess set which is very attractive and the fact that it is wodden makes it more attractive by giving a natural feeling to it.I recommend this chess set as a good present for anyone who likes playing chess and anyone who likes Garry Kasparov.

Bought it for my kid to learn to play chess. He loves it and he plays chess now at least 20 times a day and hes getting better not be long before hes beating me. wooden effect nice and feels and looks much better then any plastic set. would recommend if you like chess and dont want to pay too much for a good chess set.

We purchased this set for our young grandson who learned to play aged '5'. He just turned '6' and according to his dad, this was the "BEST CHESS SET EVER!" Comments from his son upon opening his present.Based on that assessment, we too would like to recommend this Chess Set as possibly the 'Best Chess Set Ever!'

Exactly as advertised. The chess pieces fit safely into the folding chess board (which is compact so can be stored away easily to save space). I'm glad I purchased this particular set and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the game or wants to learn. It also comes with instructions on how to play.

At a loss to know what I should give my grandson for his 5th Birthday I remembered that he had shown an interest in my own Chess Set.I placed my order on Saturday afternoon and it was delivered with great courtesy early on Sunday morning.My grandson was delighted with his present! Many thanks.

This amazing chess set arrived for 9 year old chess enthusiast who could have been happier. Very good quality, stylish, practical and educational. On top of it- signed by one of the greatest chess masters. Also, there’s a little chess booklet included as well . Really happy with the purchase.

The four stars are for it being a very nice home set. The missing star is due to the fact the magnet lock is not strong to keep the box sealed when being transported which is why we bought it.The pieces and board are a nice size for clear play and even works well in a classroom environment.

Well made, sturdy chess set. Board folds in half and chess pieces can be stored inside when not in use. Also comes with a great instruction manual that explains in detail the rules of chess, and shares some common strategies. Great purchase and has relieved lots of boredom during lockdown!
