I have had this computer for a year now, and I have played a number of games on it. This chess computer is reminiscent of the early1980's chess computers before LCD screens. I have been playing with chess computers since they first became available in the1980s. I think this machine is well worth five stars. I find the board sensitive to the lightest pressure, put a piece on a wrong square and the computer will instantly let you know. Changing levels could not be easier, and a well written manual is included. I think the pieces could have been better, they are light in weight and they do not have a magnetic base, they tend to fall over and scatter too readily around the chess board.

This is a great little set to play with when you are on a budget. This is a superb tool for learner players who struggle to find people to play with (that aren't online). The computer has 64 levels of difficulty (although 4 levels are not existence because they are all 2 player modes...). The computer comes with 4 styles of play (Normal, aggressive, defensive and high-risk). It also comes with a Mating option but players must enter in positions of the pieces and the computer can only work out up to 5 moves which isn't that far... The take-back function is a little frustrating as I wanted to go back a few more moves to find that it only goes back 1 move. Overall for an electronic chess (on budget)

I have had this computer for a week and I have played a number of games on it. I have been playing with chess computers since they came out in the 1980's. I think this machine is well worth five stars. I find the board very sensitive to the lightest pressure. Put a piece on a wrong square and the computer will instantly let you know. Changing levels could not be easier, and a well written manual is included. If I have one minor gripe, I think the pieces could be better. I swapped them for a set of Gold and Silver pieces which makes the computer look more attractive. The chess computer is reminiscent of 1980's chess computers.

Purchased this electronic computerised chess set designed for single players a few months ago. Wanted to start playing chess again at home in my spare time - used to play when I was younger. Bought this for the excellent price and because I could play against a computer. I consider myself a reasonable player and so far have been playing the computer at a low difficulty level and finding it very challenging - hence plenty of scope to improve and play against the computer at several higher levels still available; hence well worth the money. No issues so far with electronics (comes with a 2 year warranty I think).

it takes a bit of getting used to if not played a computer before , so don't think there's a problem with the chess set unless the problem persists after playing a few times . I am a chess player since childhood but not at any great level and it took a while to sort out whose turn and where does the computer want to move to , obvious for some people I'm sure , but for others, be a bit patient and determined and it will be fine.

Love this chess set super sensitive board press very gently with your finger to move your pieces not a great chess player but know about defense.pieces are very light but not a problem.I've got slim fingers so that helps.Computer may go nuts sometimes but don't panic it's not faulty there is a needle hole at the back of the computer saying reset just press with the needles eye job done it goes back to factory settings.

I liked the various playing levels, which is better than using a chess app for over the board games.Strength of the computer is higher than me, which is exactly what I wanted.Price is very low for a great product. Why spend more for an expensive computer, unless you are an IM chess player of course.During play you have to take care not to confuse the bishop with a pawn.More than happy with my purchase.

A competent chess computer,good program,easy to set up openings,and a first class piece locationFeature.The only negative point is the instability of the chessman which are prone to fallOver if you catch adjacent pieces with your fingers when you move a piece. I bought aWider base set of chessmen to over come this.

A nice compact chess set for those who enjoy playing friends or against the computer software. A very handy training mode helps you to improve your abilities by letting you know a move was good. If you are into chess or just a beginner, this is a good choice to buy for the price.

Although the chess pieces are small and lightweight, I am happy with this item as I am learning to play chess on my own. It does the job! Strangely, the converter and plug to use it on the mains is not included so I use batteries.

bought this for grandsons christmas as this is his first chess board it has everything he needs to help him get startedhe was really pleased when he saw it as well.
