chess set arrived within days. As it was a present it was opened fully a few weeks after, and we were dismayed to find one castle with no turret. I dont know how to contact the seller, so we have to put up with this. Also there were no instructions on how to play, only a little telling the names and moves of the pieces, so setting the board up we were reliant on an expert who happened to be there, otherwise, the recipient, a four year old, would have been mighty disappointed..However, the game itself has gone down brilliantly with the four-yr old!

I've never actively sought out a product online to express how much I like it, but this chess set... I'd looked for a reasonably priced chess set with good reviews and found it with this set. I ordered it for my son and it's just fantastic. At this super-cheap price I was braced for poor quality, but instead I got a set with durable and weighty plastic pieces. My son has accidentally stood on them and sat on them, and they've survived. Thank you so much HTI - you have a great product. Have some more stars: *************

Ordered seven chess sets for a School club. More than fit the bill. The boards are a little flimsy where they are folded (and caused some confusion for the kids as to how to put them away) but strong tape would do well to support it. The pieces are large enough to use and recognisable (better than other sets I've come across for similar prices). Only problem is that some of the piece's bases have detached though this does not affect the piece itself. Would recommend to others.

This is a great chess set for actually playing with, rather than putting on show, and it really is great value for money. Although it comes in an impressively big box, the board actually folds into quarters, so its possible to repack it in a much smaller container and use it as a (full size) travel set. (providing you're not travelling off-road, that is.) Even if you don't play chess, buy this set and learn. At least you haven't wasted much money if you don't like it.

What's there to say? It's your straightforward school chess set - except without all the mismatched pieces! Hard cardboard board, plastic pieces, cheap and cheerful, but that's what I was after for my university hall kitchen (you might think that people would snuff at it, but it was actually a real hit). Folds away easily, the box even contains separate sections for the different colours! Fast delivery on Prime of course, all in all a great buy for the price!

This Chess set was for my grandson (aged 9) who is beginning to show an interest in Chess.I did not feel that I wanted to spend too much money initially as children change their minds so quickly about what they want to play, so this Chess set suited the bill, if he continues to show interest, I would maybe look for something more substantial. Incidentally My grandson loved it and even got his sister playing on Christmas day. Thank you very much.

Brilliant value. It's a basic set - plastic pieces and a shiny cardboard board but the board is a decent thickness and the pieces are chunky enough. For the price it's superb value. I've bought it to teach my 6 year old how to play. So far my 3 year old is showing more interest in the knight charging at all the other pieces but it's a set that we'll bring out for years to come and for under £4 I'm not precious about it.

Bought for my 7yr old greatgrandson who expressed a desire to play chess when he saw it on the games section of my laptop. Unfortunately he found himself playing against the computer, not very beginner friendly ! I sent for this as I am not a chess expert,so can play with him and we can learn together ! Very good value, and arrived promptly.

Overall great for the price, was slightly dissapointed in the attention to detail, some pieces appear slightly 'melted' but still recognisable. The board is a good size and does fold down for convenience however the whole package is still fairly larger than most travel sets. Item arrived faster than expected and boxed well.

Bought this as my 5 year old grandson is keen to learn to play chess. I didn't want to spend a lot in case he changed his mind. I couldn't believe how good this set is for the cost. Fantastic value. My grandson loves it as it is "like a real chess set". And he is making great progress. Would definitely recommend

Initially worried about quality and content due to the price but on reciept of the set, it is complete and the quality is most definitely good enough to play with. Firm foldable card chessboard, play pieces and instructions on how to play. Excellent value for money!

As a chess newbie I've been pleased with this compact, good quality chess board. The plastic pieces are basic and the board is thing and foldable but it does the job and is goof value for money. Would recommend for those who are in it for love not money.

Happy with the product. It's a good, simple set for beginners and easy to fold away the board to store and save space. It's lightweight, but decent enough quality for the price I paid - should last a while if the board and pieces are treated with care.

Amazing game for the price! When ordering I had low expectation for the quality of the board and chess pieces for some reason but when received it, I must say it exceeded my expectations by a lot...A must have for any child and as well as adult !!

I bought this chess set for a young child, and its perfect. The first set sent had 2 queens and no king, I wrote to complain and was sent a complete new set very quickly. Product was really good value for money and customer service was brilliant.
