I was super excited to get these and start attempting to build some great structures. The box is self-contained with a bag of the plastic bits (hexagons, triangles and squares) with magnetic rods and metal balls, with an instruction manual with instructions on how to make some stuff already. The Good: This kept me and my partner entertained for ages! Luckily the little polystyrene boxes the rods and balls come in are easy to put things away and take them out again, so we could pick up structures and stop and start without too much mess. The instructions are really straightforward but we wanted to make our own thing (bit more tricky, see the bad below!) and popping the plastic inside the rods works seamlessly. It's a great game of concentration and imagination so would be great for adults and children alike. You get a lot of pieces out of the box with a mixture of big hexagons, small triangles and squares - so a great starting point. They're also very robust and can be moved once things are built (providing you put them together well!). The magnets are very, very strong. The Bad: I wanted to make a tesseract (a cube within a cube) which proved to be fairly difficult. For some reason the rods going out at all corners were simply unable to create an equal amount of distance to the outer square. I had it a few times whilst making structures where things wouldn't fit as I expected them to and I have no idea why, plastic would pop out as things weren't at perfect right angles. It was almost like some things weren't the same length. It could just be me, though! When you figure it out it is very rewarding. But, you may run out of bits for complicated structures so bear this in mind when you start your journey!I'd recommend these for somebody wanting to encourage positive mental stimulation and also a great deal of creativity. It requires hand-eye coordination and when putting them away you need to make sure the magnets are positioned next to their opposite sides (otherwise they repel!). Such an innovative solution for fun and games - worth the money if you actually intend to use them and spend the time making great things.

I have previous experience of Geomag products. My two (nearly teenage) girls still enjoying using Geomag, whilst experiencing and learning the physics behind magnetism. We were therefore keen to try this out. The product is well packaged and comes with the 174 pieces. There is a detailed instruction manual and the children needed some help to support holding it when making some the advanced constructions. We have not made everything in the manual, but it did offer peace, quiet and concentration for quite some time.I do find Geomag products generally quite expensive - and we are fortunate to already have one set in the house, as we often find multiple products allow for more flexibility when creating. So you may find you wish to invest in more of them. The children do enjoy using them and watching the spinning magnetic creations they have made. The plastic sheets that slot in between the creations are new to us and we had not seen them before in a previous kit. This added an extra level of dimension. I would recommend this for older primary children who like technical Lego kits and investigating. A very good product, although a little pricey.

This is the first time I have come across the Geomag products so I didnt know what to expect from it. This kit is the larger 174 piece kit and with it comes a booklet of varying different items to construct. The booklet though seems to contain products that require more pieces than is available in this kit though and I think there seems to be an expectation for the user needs to buy other similar Geomag products to expand the range of builds. However, the builds I could do were fun, some of which were quite intricate and complex. My 10 year old daughter loves building the different contructs though and it has been really nice to have a product that we can enjoy together. The finishd articles though are really worthy of ornamental status, and I would be happy to keep some of the builds on the mantlepeice but I never get more then 3 days before the next build is started. All good fun though and has been a bit of a godsend during the long days of lockdown.

There's a lot in the box, all very neatly packaged, and there are clear and well laid out instructions... BUT the first set of instructions don't work, with there not being enough magnetic pull in the design for it to work. This meant my child was put off continuing to follow the instructions and gave up on the set. Overall this is disappointing... You wouldn't expect instructions from Lego not to work, so it's a real shame to find these don't work. 4 stars for high quality, but I'd give it 3 based on the first set of instructions not working.

These magnets in this Geomag Pro-L line are really strong compared to other sets our eight year old grandson has, we spent an enjoyable wet afternoon playing with this hands-on activity , working up to more creative structures like the bridge. A game that teaches a child to use their imaginations and dexterity, starting off with simple shapes and working up to more complex creations, there are 174 pieces in this set ,There are other creations to collect and build up to, these games are not cheap but will last the test of time.

There's an awful lot of pieces in this Geomag Building set (174 in all) which means any child....or young adult.....can indulge there creativity and engineering prowess to great extent. The magnets all hold well and all the various parts are well made. Our nephew is absorbed in it as I write building a strange and exotic looking tower block. Mu only small criticism is that at circa £75 it does seem a little on the pricey side. Somewhere nearer £50 would be more appropriate in my opinion.

This was the first set of this kind we have had and we were not disappointed. There is plenty of scope to build lots of different designs but ideas to get you started too. The slight disappointment is the strength of the magnets which do not always hold together once the structure gets past a certain size. There are lots of little pieces so definitely not for little ones.

This set is really cool. My daughter enjoyed building the structures in the booklet and making her own creations. It does fall apart quite easily which can get frustrating but it does help teach persistence.Whats great about this set is you can add on other sets and make super structures.

This was quite good fun. It does work and there were no problems with any of the magnetic components. The instructions were generally okay. You can of course make stuff of your own design. Possibly this is currently a little bit expensive for what you get.

Lovely Silver and blue magnetic structure building!Hours of fun and imaginative thinking skills!Magnets are pretty strong but could be bit stronger for bigger buildings!Interesting trying to put everything back in box was a challenge!

Bought for my daughter who loves it. It is a good "starter" pack, as it can be a bit limiting what you can construct with what you get, but is still great fun

This was well received by my grandson who has now more than one set.
