I asked relatives to buy this much-requested toy for my two children (5 and nearly 7) for Christmas, with some trepidation as I had read a number of negative reviews about it. We have had it a few days now - so there is time I suppose for the lead to break and for all the food/poop to get lost, but so far this hasn't happened and to be honest, I can see ways round this even if they do happen.A review I saw said Pax was 'useless' after the lead broke - probably not the case, as the mechanism for pooping is dependant on Pax sitting back on its legs. Yes, the lead facilitates trundling him forward and then getting enough momentum to enable a quick pull back on the lead to bring about the legs giving way,but I would not say this would be impossible without it - you'd just have to bodge an attachment at the place on his back or make him sit back manually.Another review said Hasbro were 'stupid' not to sell replacement food. Well I haven't proven it yet but I reckon you could make replacement pellets very easily with FIMO or air-drying clay. Don't think there's anything special about them in terms of materials or shape to make substitutes impossible to fashion.Pax is very soft and makes silly pooping noises. The children find it hilarious to make him poop and have often played games involving taking various things for a walk (mostly one of those wheeled, wooden animals on a stick), so I'm sure he will be well used.

Pax is a small and extremely cute puppy. He takes two AA batteries (not included) and he also arrives with an instruction booklet, a lead and eight small pellets of food. Like all the Furreal Friends, Pax is cute, but not particularly cuddly. When you touch him, he feels quite hard beneath the material, although that did not seem to phase my toy testers, who found him adorable. The leash comes in two parts - you snap these together and then clip it straight into the back of Pax's neck. This enables you to 'walk' Pax. However, his particular novelty is his ability to 'eat' and then 'poop' out the food. So you put a pellet in his mouth and he makes eating noises. When you start to walk him - ie push him across the floor (this works best on a smooth surface) he makes whining noises. Pull him back slightly, so his back legs fold and he will 'poop' out the pellet - cue huge amusement from young children! This does not have as much play value as other Furreal toys we have had, but certainly, although you can 'feed' other Furreal toys - by holding food to their mouths, while they make eating noises - this is the first one in the range to actually eat the food. It has lots of appeal, with a nice expression and children will enjoy feeding him.

I do worry for poor Pax's nutrition - his poops and his treats look identical and you keep them in the same baggie - and not unlike some real dogs, he will willingly and happily eat his own poo! This dog has those big huge eyes that my daughter and all her friends love, it can be taken for "walks" by having its lead attached to its back, and best of all it eats a treat and really poops it out the other end with sound effects too! Then you can scoop the poop into the bag and you're ready to go again - poor Pax! This pooping of course provides absolute delight from little children and they are much more ready to suspend their disbelief and make pretend that the brown nuggets are poop /food depending on which end they are by!This is really reasonably priced compared to some of the fur-real toys and it has a novelty factor which will delight - Prepare for this dog having to go everywhere with you as he will be a favourite! I think even once the novelty has worn off, if your little one is an animal lover he will be cherished - I just wish he was a little softer and cuddlier and my little one wants to take him to bed! I also wonder how long it will be before we have lost the little nuggets as they are quite small!

Pax has become Betsy for our 3 year old and she arrived well packaged and securely enclosed. She requires two AAA batteries to operate (not included) which are fitted easily into her chest cavity with the use of a Phillips screwdriver. Her fur is very soft and she has big blue eyes making her a very attractive and cute looking toy dog. She has a blue tag with matching lead, which is easy for a 3 year old to attach and detach without assistance. She 'walks' with the aid of her wheel situated between her front feetShe came with a pouch of snacks which she begs/sits for. She also yips for attention whilst being played with. As she eats the treats, she makes a chewing noise and sometimes burps.Once fed, she will poop when she sits and makes the matching noises. When left inactive, she is quiet within seconds. A treat or making her sit re-activates her easily. The toy is recommended for ages 4 upwards due to small parts and is not recommended for children under 3 years old.In summary, a great toy which my pre-schooler is happy to lovingly care for and play with/talk to.

Well this is something I have not come across before but when I thought about actually sends out an important message about clearing up after your pet as well as causing much amusement to young and old. Pax is supplied in an open box with a two piece lead, a clean up bag and and eight small pellets of food. He looks cute and well made although the tag and food pellets mean he is not suitable for small children and the minimum age recommended is four years. The lead is in two parts and clips to the back of Pax's neck. This allows you to walk Pax on the floor or table top. To feed him you put a pellet in his mouth and he makes munching noises. Then you walk him until he makes whining noise which shows he is ready to perform.Pull him back so his back legs fold and out comes the pellet along with accompanying sound effects which you can put in the clean up bag supplied. And that is about it so it is a little limited but definitely unique!

This is a cute little dog. It is soft to the touch - although it isn't cuddly as it is plastic underneath the fur.Out of the box, the lead is in two parts - they are easy to join together and then to push into the back of the dog. The dog requires batteries, which are not provided. The battery compartment needs to be unscrewed to get the batteries in.Once up and running - the dog barks happily as it is pushed about on its lead. The little bits of food can be pushed into the dogs mouth. The dog then poops them out again when you make it squat (!...). My four year old daughter thinks that this is absolutely brilliant and finds it extremely funny. I have to admit, we are a bit tired of hearing about dog poo now...The joke is getting a bit old...However, the toy is serving its purpose - my daughter has had so much enjoyment out of this toy.Would recommend.

Hasbro always do a great range of animal /pet toys for kids. They tend to be softer and more animated . This puppy is very soft and cuddles and does a few interactions. I bought the far dearer walking dog last year and it didn't walk to great , this walks far better and is easier to carry and use.It has a clip together lead and is easily pulled along , with the novelty if you pull it back it poops . This novelty does wear off after a while ! You can also feed him which the kids like , sadly he doesn't make any noises which would have made it really great. However I'm giving it five stars because kids want these kind of things but they generally cost a fortune. This fits the bill of being able to move easily,be carried, does basic functions that appeal to the kids but doesn't cost over the top .My neice thought it was very cute as we all did so recommended

This is a happy little toy which is ideal for toddlers and perhaps older children (thinking particularly older boys for who "poop" is so funny).I have been using this with a 2 year old who comes to me twice a week, he absolutely LOVES it and it's the first toy he goes for.You feed the dog with the pellets and then push him along the floor...and he poops. You wouldn't have thought this could be so funny but the two year old finds it hysterical. One thing is you need to keep the "pellets" safe as they could easily get lost. Your child also needs to know not to eat the pellets so for younger children supervision is required.

My little boy wanted a dog that ‘pooped’ for his 4th birthday - after searching reviews and prices the cheapest place was amazon. He absolutely loved it! The dog can’t do too much, makes eating and burping sounds when you feed him the treats which then make other sounds ??as they come out the back end as poo and that’s about it - it does come with a lead to walk it. Not a bad price and I’m sure my son would give it 5 stars. The only downside is there’s only 9 little treats/poops so you really need to keep an eye to make sure they don’t get lost as I haven’t seen replacements anywhere.

This is a very cute dog with a soft plush fur. You simply activate the batteries and feed the dog some treats and he make lots of sounds including panting, munching, howling and barking. You then walk him on his lead and make his back legs bend in a sitting motion and he then poops. He also farts. This tickles kids and although great fun, it is a one trick pony and maybe not hold their attention for too long. The sound effects and the soft fur make it for me. Take care with the tiny pellets of food because of choking.

My 19 month old grandson is loving walking his dog. We've obviously not let him feed the dog the snacks as he is too young due to the age of him. He has enjoyed putting his finger in his mouth to make him make noises. I was worried if he'd transfer this to his parents' cats or another dog but he hasn't. I don't feel this is worth the rrp however and if I'd purchased this at that price I'd be disappointed. It is a hard toy and even the lead is hard plastic.

I have bought 2 of these. My 7 year old daughter asked for one for her birthday and I've subsequently bought one for a friend. The kids seem to enjoy playing with them. I wouldn't say its a favourite toy but it does get played with. The only negatives are that its so easy for the little biscuits to get lost and also the "lead" is difficult to take off once it is attached, which makes storing it in a cupboard or drawer a bit tricky.

We all LOVE this toy. It's hilarious, there's some videos on YouTube which had me and my eldest daughter in stitches.Bought for Christmas for my 4 year old and it was her favourite present. So I bought one for my niece for her 4th birthday and it was a favourite present for her too. The only downside is the poo's are easily lost and we may have to experiment with raisins as replacements!

Hugely amusing for my kids. Great enjoyment of the feeding / pooping process. The toy seems to be well made, it works and seems pretty robust. Good price. Small parts, so keep away from babies. Really fun toy... Guessing it won't keep their interest for ever, but for the short term, all good.

This toy reminds of the tiny tears I had as a child. It is very cute looking with lovely fur. He isn't very cuddly due to the hard body. It is annoying that batteries aren't included. Anyway the "pooping" results in much hilarity in small children. Highly recommended.
