Furreal Friends Bootsie Pet Toy is another in the Furreal toy pet range. Bootsie is a cat and she reacts just like a real cat - she will purr, but she will also hiss and look extremely cross. Her fur is super soft, but you can obviously feel the hard parts of her body beneath the covering. I suspect this is so the sensors will work, but it does make these toys less cuddly. We have had a few of these Furreal toys now and I would say that Bootsie is mid-range in terms of what she can do. You can 'feed' her the fish, pet and stroke her and she will react. Her facial expressions are good and you can move her legs and body, so she is more stretched out and easier for a child to hug.My big issue with all the Furreal toys is that they seem to arrive in Demo mode.We were obviously testing this, so it didn't matter, but as soon as I opened the box, she began miaowing and making noises. If you are buying this for a present and want to keep it hidden, you will need to take her out of the box and turn her off. The buttons to do so are under her bottom, hidden by velcro, so the only way you can do this is to actually open all of the packaging and then reach the switches. Otherwise, wrap this up and it will continue to be making noises and movements under the tree! The sensors are also very sensitive. Obviously, in some situations that is great, but it does mean than even walking past can set it off - if your child still has naps, or has this in their bedroom, switch it off at night/naptime. Overall, very cute and sweet, with a fun, grumpy side, but I wish Furreal would design toys that you can switch off while they are still in the box.

I love this cat. It is the same size as the domestic cat we are all used to.It is triggered by a moition sensor, everytime time it is touched or you walk past it ,it goes off. It will happily meow, it will give a contented purr, and also has a cross meow. I brushed past it this morning and it gave a right cross meow of a telling off, it really is quite funny. It comes in a sitting position but when it is stroked it will stretch out its front legs a little and his moves to. The funniest is the cross frown when hes in a bad mood! The cat has soft grey fur with a pendant collar. The body is quite hard but that is due to the mechanisms inside. You also get a fish treat for the cat which doesn't actually do anything but then what treat does? This toy is suggested for 4 years up and I know that my granddaughter who is 7 will love it.If you are saving this for xmas or other occasion you want to remove the batteries as it will go off each time you walk past it or move it or just wrap it and keep out of the way in a quiet place.

Oh my I love this toy and I’m a grown woman! Ok, so I’m a cat lover without a cat at present but any child of four plus would absolutely adore this toy as a gift. It meows, hisses and purrs and the movements are lovely .It’s highly entertaining for all the family because it is so life like. This is a quality product and comes in a wonderful generous size for children to handle and cuddle. It has grey and white fur and comes with food accessories which are included in the presentation box. From the predominately pink packaging is obviously aimed at girls but any animal or pet loving child would love it. So I suppose if I had one negative comment it would be perhaps about the packaging/marketing of the product aiming the toy at girls. Not sure if they do a version for boys, perhaps a dog, but I just love any toys which teach children to love, respect and care for animals. Couldn’t fail to love this charming, adorable toy. Highly recommended and most importantly my niece loved it too...

Daughter saw this is a high street store just before Christmas and it went to the top of her Santa list. Amazon was cheapest place to buy this in December. Expensive at full price but bought on offer. Daughter who is four years old absolutely loves it and carries it around everywhere. Was well worth it to see her face on Christmas Day when she opened it. We did have a slight problem wrapping it as you can't get to the switch to turn it off without taking it out of the packaging and it arrives in demo mode - lots of purring even in when wrapped so had to be hidden away at back of wardrobe until Christmas morning!!Have since bought another one for my niece for her birthday as she liked my daughter's so much.

Oh my goodness, we have had some laughs over this cat! I jumped a mile when I opened the box as there was suddenly a loud meow from within. I was also really surprised how big she is, I was expecting a small furry cat but she is just over a foot tall.I wouldn't describe Bootsie as cute but should imagine she is quite appealing to a child. Her expressions change depending what mood she is in.Pat her on the head, tickle her ears and she news, purrs or hisses at you, if you wave your hand in front of her and she meows, watch out though as she can hiss at you too. Use her fish to get some response too.

Bootsie the cat is LOVED in our house. For the past few weeks since first opening the box, our toddler won't be separated from this toy. It's aimed at ages 4+ but our daughter is coming up to three and this toy is a firm favourite. Bootsie works with sensors - if you touch/wave at different parts on her body she will purr, meow etc. She comes with a toy fish which she responds to when you try to feed her. The cat has an on/off and demo switch on the base so easy to switch off when needed. It's not a cheap toy by any means but our daughter really loves it and the two will not be parted.

Got this for one of my neices. When it arrived i had to stop the wife keeping it!.The fur is so soft and the cat is a good size. About 12inches tall. When it purrs it sounds so cute. The eyebrows move to give it some facial expressions, it meows and hisses. It responds to you by detecting movement as well as by stroking it.Well worth the money.Even comes with a treat so you can pretend to feed it.Would recommend to anyone whose children want a cat but cannot have the real thing.

My granddaughter loved this though I did have a bit of a nightmare when I first opened the box to check it out. It was in demo mode so every time I went near it it either mewed purred or hissed at me! The off switch is on the base but as I didn’t want to destroy the box but wanted to switch it off I had to try and cut it out. The thing kept hissing and yowling - you’d think I was hurting it! Much preferred it when it purred at me once it was out and I could stroke it! ?

My daughter loved this for her 7th birthday however with all of the FurReal Friends items there isn't a function to turn off the noises they make so we had to hide it wrapped in the garage because it kept meowing... when we moved it into the house for her birthday it spoilt the surprise because even wrapped it started meowing and purring as she was opening other presents! However the quality of the item is great and she loves it!

Where to start....this has been the Christmas gift of the year for our three year old. She loves kittens/cats and although she wanted a real cat, this seems to have filled that gap-for now! It’s soft, makes noise moves it’s head and eyebrows. It’s a good size and is pretty good quality product. It is expensive but if this was all that she was given would have been enough. She would give it 5/5 for sure!

What a cute toy this is! It's incredibly soft, appealing and it's animation and interaction amused my daughter and myself endlessly (our real cat was more perplexed) It looks excellent quality and was a huge hit. Looses a star due to not being able to entice it to eat its fish yet ( it apparently should make an eating motion when it's put to it's mouth) Other than that... We're very impressed.

My daughter asked Santa for this grumpy cat! Beware - it comes on demo mode and cannot be switched off so as I opened the box it was delivered in it started meowing at me hahaa! I hid it in a cupboard for a few weeks and it scared the life out of me every time I had to go in the cupboard for anything. My daughter (5yrs) loves it though - not very cuddly but it can lie down and picked up.

nice gift for toddlers. it is exactly what it says it is, it meows, it purrs, it moves its head, i think my 1.5 year old daughter would prefer it not moving, my 4-year old son carries it around with him, takes care of it, feeds it puts it to sleep, and sometimes it uses the cat to express his emotions maybe? for example he will say "the cat is angry now" (or maybe my son is!)

I am ten years old. I admit , after seeing the reviews i wasn’t so sure whether to buy . i was looking for a Christmas present . some customers said that her fur came off . only a slight piece or two . some said she was robotic . i don’t think so . some said she was annoying only a bit . honestly , this is a great buy , you won’t regret it !
