These are a lovely red colour exactly like the picture. I've always wanted a pair of red boots, so when I saw these at such a good price £48.09 I thought I couldn't go wrong. I now am beginning to recognise the Fly styles that I can get my poorly feet into and I saw these had a zip and are similar in style to two other pairs I own in brown and black so I thought they would be ok. I find Fly shoes/sandals and boots (when they fit) to be the most comfortable footwear that is also stylish. These arrived as promised by Amazon prime. They are as I said a lovely colour. They also look very good quality even with the slightly (in my opinion) worn look. I excitedly undid the zip and then disaster....I could not get my foot into the boot. They are quite ridged to get into and I am sure if I pushed I could have succeeded in getting them on, however having had ops on my feet I find pushing my foot in quite painful. I also think that they may have been a bit hard to break in with my heels the way they are. I'm quite surprised by this as I have as I said boots of similar styling but hope that this is a one off and that I will continue to buy Fly from Amazon where I know I can try on in the comfort of my home without having to trudge around shops and looking rather uncomfortable trying to prize my feet into various boots to find the right fit. Find Fly good quality, as I said stylish and very stable to walk in.

I wasn't too sure about these when they arrived but walked around in them for a bit indoors and realised how comfortable and warm they are.As other reviewers have said, they are on the narrow side but are leather so will mould to the shape of your foot eventually. I personally think that it's quite nice to have a pair of winter boots that I don't have to wear extra thick socks with just to keep them on my feet. I'm a size 6 and they fit beautifully with a nice amount of wriggle room for my toes. The chunky heal is a good inch and a half with a nice shape that makes me feel taller and more elegant.I've worn them constantly for 3 days now with no rubbing or pinching of any kind. I only have 2 concerns:1.The amount of scuff marks that have appeared around the toe area, but this is due to the type of leather used and, to tell the truth, they add to the look of the boot quite nicely.2. The hard plastic used for the heal has proven to be a bit slippery in wet weather, so I will be replacing it with a standard rubber heal. However the sole area has excellent grip.Look good with thick tights and skirts/dresses of any length as well as leggings and skinnies. Only wish they weren't so expensive, but the quality is outstanding so you get what you pay for.

I love the design of Fly London, but their sizing is appalling. I really wanted these boots in purple, so I ordered them in purple in an alleged size 8 (not from Amazon) & though I loved the design, I could not even get my foot in them! That's because Fly believe size 41 is an 8. It's not. A 42 is an 8.So with perseverance, I shopped around & eventually found the Mel in red (not my favourite purple) on Amazon. They arrived this afternoon (3rd attempt at delivery - if you used Royal Mail Amazon, I'd have been able to collect them 2 days ago & you would not have wasted time trying to deliver to me when I'm at work!) & they haven't been off my feet since. I found them in an alleged UK size 9 & they fit & they're SO comfortable!I love the look & design & even the colour - not had red boots before. There is no way though that they are a size 9. I'm an 8 at most (usually an 8 due to width of feet), but these are the same size as another pair of Earth Spirit boots in an 8 (yes, I measured!!).Message is: Fly, sort your sizing out. You make fab boots, but your sizing is dreadful! Be warned folks when you buy Fly London boots.Just wish I could get them in purple in the right size... *Sigh.

I love these boots. I have them in red & now this fab petrol colour. They are stylish & SO comfortable, that if I could, I'd get them in all the colours they make them in. They walked me round the West End first day of wearing them & my feet did not complain.Like most of Fly London's designs, they are a bit different & I love the mix of suede & leather, plus the 2 tone colours. This petrol colour is a teal & it's fabulous! However, Fly London are very strange with their sizing. I am usually a UK size 7-8 (a 41-42). However, I initially ordered a pair of what was being sold as UK size 8s. However, looking at them when they arrived (they have the size stamped on the inside of the ankle),they were a 41 & I couldn't get my foot into them. So I checked their sizing & Fly London believe a 42 is a UK size 9. It's not. Therefore I ordered a UK9 & received a 42 & it fits perfectly. It also measures exactly the same as another pair of boots that I have which are a UK size 8. Irritating & it cost me money in ordering & returning boots. So be warned, check the sizing as Fly London size oddly!

I'm so pleased with these boots. They're very stylish and yet very comfy a holy grail boot really. Just enough of a heel to make them feel smart but they feel just like flats on your feet. I sized up from my usual six and a half to the seven and actually I would've been fine with the six . I've had to put an insole in them , however that means there will be room for thick socks in the winter. I got them in petrol which really is exactly that colour. A peacock feather colour. They look very funky in this colour but beware if you wouldn't be confident in them because they're not subtle. As others have said they do sound quite clip cloppy but I have no issue with that at all.I've worn them only twice and both times I've been stopped to be asked where they were from. Absolutely delighted with my purchase, both the boots and the price are right!!! Confident girls looking for the lovely individual looking pair of comfy boots- look no further they're here!!!!

I have lusted after these for a long time and finally took the plunge and got them.....they are so so beautiful! they are understated but manage to look amazing in the typical fly attention to detail: like the different textures at the back of the boot, the wondrous buckle and the pleating at the top of the boot so that when you're wearing them and you look down they have this beautiful shape. I got them in green and they have a darker green almost black at the toe so they look a bit aged or distressed. The pattern and colour of the lining is also gorgeous and even the soles are pretty.Even better was the price I paid for these lovelies a generous discount code took a significant amount offthe usual price couldn't be happier with them - just have to work on my guilt because I wouldn't normally be this indulgent. I'll never part with them but can imagine that sooner or later they will need a fly friend.

The size I chose is a little larger than my actual size, but as I couldn't try them on, & didn't want the hassle of returning, I thought after reading other people's reviews of Fly London boots it was better to err on the side of getting a slightly larger size, as some seemed to think they were a bit on the small side, and at least you can put an insole in to reduce looseness if a bit bigger. I would get the next size down if I bought another pair. They are good quality, & nicely made with good lining. They are not really quite how I thought they would look from the way they are displayed in the photos, although they look very good quality. They look a little bit pigeon toed & more clumpy or heavy when on,but the colour is great. They are apart from that very comfortable to wear, & very easy to get on & off with the slanted zip on the inside.

A bit disappointed to be honest. I already own -- and have worn to death -- a previous pair of these perfect and comfortable boots. I was so pleased that they are still available so I'd be able to get a new pair to replace my dead ones, but when they arrived I couldn't even get them on. Identical in every way to my originals, they'd just got smaller. Having been a fan of Fly boots for years, I now don't know what size to order and this makes me sad.UPDATE: I wrote the review above about a dark brown pair I'd bought to replace my original dark brown ones. since then I risked getting my usual size UK6 in this Diesel colour. good colour actually, and this pair fit me just fine.snug to get on and firm support round the ankle when fastened, but roomy enough inside for toes not to be squished. phew. but sort your sizing out please Fly.

I love Fly boots and have many from the last few years - this year I have bought more...(you can never have too many boots!!) but I have found their sizing weird. I'm a 39 and always have been - in Fly and in all other boots - including some of this seasons boots. But!! this year who knows what size I am in Fly... sometimes a 39 / sometimes a 38 and others a 40..I have never been a 40 but I couldn't even get my foot in a 39 and replaced them with a 40 and they fit great.Style and colour is gorgeous - really would recommend but sizing is an issue. I actually think that some sizing has gone wrong at source but it does mean you need to order a few sizes to get it right - annoying but true. However I will say they are worth it - great with skinny jeans/jeggings and lovely colour.

Whilst I really like the look of these boots and the colour is striking, I have issues with the build quality. The first pair I ordered were sent back as the stitching on the inside of the zip did not go all the way to the top. This left scratchy nylon threads and glue exposed. The second pair that arrive had better stitching but I feel it is still not to the same standard as two other styles of Fly London boots I own. The other thing to note is that I wore the boots out for dinner and literally walked from car and back and the heel is already showing signs of wear. I’m dubious that these boots will stand the test of time.I’ve owned my other Fly London boots for years and walked miles in them and they still look great.

My hubby said they look really expensive. Like a Timberland or Barbour equivalent. Imagine how pleased he was when I told him the sale price! ;) They feel a tad bigger than my 3.5UK (my one other pair of Fly London platform shoes fitted more like a 3.5), but I like it that these have some toe wiggling space. And though they feel big, they don't look it, which is good for my 5-foot frame. I do wish though they're not so noisy.. I could be heard approaching from miles away! They are very comfy and I cannot wait to put them on for the Autumn/Winter season as a classier alternative to my sheepskin boots which I've been wearing year in year out!

Stylish and comfortable, built to take a few knocks. I decided to wear these boots a few times prior to rating them, the leather is of a good quality so should age well-I've walked a fair bit in them already! They are very comfortable although I would advise anyone buying a pair of Fly boots to be aware of the wide fitting aspect in all of their boots-I had to return a pair as the width / circumference was far too big-imagine a bird with hobnail boots on! Improvements could be made in terms of description, informing the customer regarding calf / ankle circumference measurements and not just height.

I have had my eye on the purple boots in the FLY range for a year now and this design was reduced after Christmas into my price range. Having had the flat or wedge style boots these are quite a change! The heel is a bit noisy but has good grip. The fit is my usual size, slightly narrower.. The only thing I would point out is that the ruffle of the front (over your foot) can take some wearing in. You will feel it the first few times you wear them, but it does break down. The beauty of the distressed leather is that you don't notice the scuffs that come from everyday wear. I am really enjoying them!

I loves these boots. They are the first pair of Fly boots I've owned and they are really nice to wear, stylish and incredibly well made. I am a size 7 and they also fit well and as expected, so I didn't need to return them for another size. Lovely blue/black colour called Petrol, nice lining and comfortable heels and a comfortable fit overall. Only minor issue is the leather scratches quite easily but you can't have everything and they look quite retro anyway. I would recommed thse boots particualry if you can get them for a reasonable price

The boots are gorgeous. The stitching is high quality as is the leather.I tend to fit into half sizes and they seem very hard to find. I went with a 7, and it is slightly large in the heel but fits well down the length of my foot. I was pleasantly surprised to find arch support in the boots.I'm giving the boots a full 5 stars. The fact they are tad bit large is subjective to every brand and I did buy before trying them on. Because I often run in half sizes, this is always an issue for me. I've already treated them for the coming winter!
