A nice, inexpensive chisel roll. I bought a Narex four chisel set which came in just a cardboard box, so I was looking for a cheap roll to store my chisels in and this item fit the bill. The roll itself is a nice thick leather, which feels like it can stand the test of time. There are 6 normal size pockets, and 2 larger pockets. The largest chisel I have is 32mm wide and this fits in the normal size pocket, no problems. The only downside to this roll is that the strap to keep this roll closed is in my opinion, too thin. While it is the same thickness as the leather used for the actual roll, you may be inclined to pull too tight and I fear that this may break. I'm happy to take this risk as I use my chisels infrequently, but I cannot give this item 5 stars. If you use your chisels periodically like myself, then this roll will be perfect for you. However, if you use your chisels quite frequently or daily, you will want to look for a sturdier roll as the strap will more than likely break under frequent use.

I got this after had a look at several other options and decided that, for the price, this was worth a punt. Pleasantly surprised about the quality of the leather which is soft but thick. The roll looks well made and the flap keeps my chisels in place and prevents them falling out. The strap and buckle looks ok but if it fails it wouldn't be an issue to replace with a tie instead. The only reason this doesn't get five stars is the stitching for the tool slots - the stitches go across the mouth of every other slot and given that my chisels are pretty sharp it is almost impossible to not cut the stitches when putting chisels into the slots.Ideally the slot dividers would have been double-stitched so that rather than going up-across-down-across-up etc. they went up-down-across-up-down-across etc. This would have added extra durability to the dividers and prevented chisels cutting the stitching. It's a minor gripe but one that will affect the longevity of the roll.

This is actually quite good. I recently bought some hand forged gouges from a blacksmith in Lithuania via the internet and wanted a leather roll to protect and store them at a level not provided by the card box they were delivered in - at this price I was happy to take a punt of it being useless but was quite please that the 'pockets' were actually wide enough to fit the shallow bowl gouges and although it is longer than the length of the chisels it perfectly stores my draw knife and a few other tools as well.... Quality of leather/stitching seems fine and would imagine that it would be very easy to repair if I do puncture it at some point.... probably just with duct tape ;-)

This is a nice traditional leather tool or chisel roll , thick leather too but supple enough to roll your chisels up into a nice neat roll , it has six deep pockets and two wider outer pockets , it has a good strong tie with a buckle attached not shown , the edges are double stitched for extra strength , although i would recommend you still protect the end of your chisels with protectors or insulating tape to prevent them piercing the bottom of the pockets , the stitching is not weak by any means but to preserve the life of this roll makes sense it will probably last you a long time , a nice product ....

Bought this for my son as he has started to get a taste for carpentry. He has told me he is very pleased with it. However, I have noticed that the part which is supposed to keep the chisels in place over the handles is good but if you place this over the handles as is its intended use, the strap isn't long enough to keep it rolled up. If this isn't used, the strap is then long enough but the chisels fall out if the roll is picked up upside down! Perhaps when he qualifies he'll be able to afford a better one but of the same make

I bought this for storing my new chisels. It is well sewn, riveted at stress points, has a quality buckle and provided it doesn't get nicked like the last one, should last me out. You need to "train" it into shape the first few times you roll it up with the chisels, and then it remembers its shape. The suede seems tough and looks good. Will fit 8 (or 9 really, as end pocket is quite wide) standard chisels, up to 1' long. I keep the chisel guards that come with the chisels in the roll, but it would probably be fine without.

The leather roll with use softens and becomes easier to roll up. There are eight pockets of different sizes and takes my four chisels with their plastic blade covers. When laid out on the work bench it is easy to slip the unused one back for protection whilst another is removed for use. Exactly what i wanted. The leather tie will need replacement fairly soon as there is a fault in the leather half way along and it will not take too much stretching.

This is a nicely made and sturdy chisel roll, with quite thick leather and a surdy leather belt and metal buckle to hold it together. I have all 8 slots filled with my chisels and all fit without a struggle. My only gripe would be that the two end pouches are slightly wider, which results in the chisels slopping out of the sides a little bit. A couple of extra runs of stitching at each end would solve that.

Using this as a field archaeology tool roll rather than chisels, and it's ideal. Plenty of room for my smaller tools and recording kit. Now that it's a couple of weeks old, it's nice and supple and seems very sturdy. Much more reasonably priced than the specifically 'archaeology' ones, and lots of people on site are pretty envious. I think the buckle will be the first thing to break, but until then...

Impressed with this product. Leather is good quality and my chisels are nesting nicely in it.I have labelled the slot of each chisel and the little plastic end covers push down into the slots and the leather is soft enough to feel the chisel sitting into the covers without a danger of you cutting your fingers.Would recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their chisels safe and sharp.

I bought two of these leather rolls and I'm really pleased with them. They are made of good quality leather and worth every penny I paid. The leather is of a good thickness and very stiff when you get them. I treated mine with beeswax and it quickly softened and became easy to handle. If looked after they should last for years. Good value for the money.

A nice old fashion tool roll, it's made of quite thick leather with decent looking stitching. I have put six wooden handled chisels in it and still have plenty of strap length left. I would suggest you spray it with some leather protector as I think it would be very susceptible to stains and such, but other than that it's a great chisel roll.

I’ve had two of these now and the first is still going strong after at least ten years. I needed another for additional chisels and has no hesitation in getting this. The leather is stronger, supple and durable and affords the best protection that you can expect from a chisel roll. If you value your chisels then this is well worth getting.

I purchased this item for a friend who is blind, so I help him if he needs the buy anything that is difficult for him to find either online or in a shop by himself. He uses it to put some of his piano tuning tools in. He is very pleased with the quality and says that it should last him the rest of his working life. He is in his 60's now.

Nice product that is value for money. I immediately gave it a few coats of "dubbing," which made the product much better in my opinion, hopefully extending its life. The leather on the buckle strap is a bit thin, that is my only criticism but should keep my chisels in good order for years to come. Cheers
