I did have an Epson XP-322, but after it developed a fault (a couple of days after buying more ink for it), I threw it away in anger! So I looked at Amazon for a new printer, and choose this XP-6100.Larger and heavier than my XP-322, though not excessively. Setting it up was fairly easy, but it does take some time. When you first load up the ink cartridges it runs through an initialisation which takes about ten minutes. I have no idea what the printer is doing that it needs ten minutes to initialise. I don't know if it's because it's starting up for the very first time, or perhaps it will does this whenever I replace the ink.Linking it to my WiFi was easy, though I did end up using the slow method of entering the WiFi password on the printer itself, rather than via the set up software on my MacBook (which never seemed to find the printer initially). Now that it is set up, everything is running smoothly. The quality of printing is great! I have yet to try the scanning/copying features, but I am confident it will be good.I like the discreet paper tray it has (XP-322 didn't have one), which tucks away underneath the printer. One bonus it has that I did not realise before purchase: it prints double-sided. On my previous printers I would have to manually turn over and reinsert a printed page to get double-sides printing. With this printer, it does it for you. Double-sided printing is a bit slow, but it's more convenient than having to manually do it.So, yes, I am happy with this printer and would recommend it for the home user.

This printer / scanner really does do it all. It functions as a good small office printer, with its automatic document feed and duplex scanning (albeit slow), and the way the feed tray folds away when not in use really makes it much more acceptable. It offers two paper drawers and a back feed as well as a CD printer drawer. It prints envelopes well. Photo print quality is good too, plenty good enough for most ordinary photography use. And it does all this in a space which finds it a place on top of most desks, unlike many of its type. Ethernet connectivity is valued too. Criticisms? It's not that pretty - maybe some more colours? It needs a button on the front to fold away the drawers and screen when not in use.It doesn't do fax (which is all right by me). The ink costs are not as good as one would hope for an office printer. But in comparison with the similar machines I have owned by HP and Canon I am really impressed. I got mine for £100, at which it represents good value, but even at the commoner price of £130 it would have been considered.Read full review...

Set-up was straight-forward, although it took a while, but it all seemed to work as expected (have patience).Once up and running a full-page colour print (i.e. an A4 sized photo print) took around 30s or so.It also printed perfectly edge to edge on a 6"x4" paper with what looked like a lab-quality image. It does print edge-to-edge on A4 and while the print quality was excellent, I only printed on standard paper and it did crinkle due to the wetness of the ink (my fault for not using photo paper), but the image resolution was still significantly better than the Canon printer it replaced.Text was also quick and clear. This is a surprisingly small footprint printer, while you do have to manually extend the paper receiver when you want to use the printer, once finished it very neatly packs away into it's own footprint with an elegance I've never seen in any other printer. It's not the cheapest printer on the market, but it's definitely the neatest form factor.

Not keen on having to pull out grey printing tray to print especially as its wifi forget to do it and machine will not print ! might be just me as last printer had automatic printing tray ready to print! Front panel when pulled down shows separate trays for A4 and smaller prints both trays clearly marked. The bottom cover when down ready to print reveals USB connection and SD card slot. setting up is very easy and straightforward apart from epson connect.print quality is excellent on A4 and smaller prints, the scanner works well in black and white and Colour, the LCD screen looks small but is ok for the many things this machine can do, Like Calendars, cards, colouring in photo, etcoverall for the money its a great machine for printing and for photos, much better than I thought it would be. The box was damaged but the printer was unscathed! This is a great printer for the money!

Printing for most part on a par with replaced Canon Pixmar (speed/quality). Noted that, when printing envelopes or card, the leading edge of paper tends to get smudged with ink.Poor features: Need to keep output tray extended increases an already large footprint - difficult to stow on an extending computer desk shelf. Most annoying feature: at least on Windows 10, the printer's software forces default to Cassette 1 when attempting to print envelopes, for no good reason. Had to Google this to find out this egregious feature and how to over-ride.Usual complaints: cost of OEM inks - large capacity refills cost more than printer itself, although Epson's own prices competitive with discount sellers. Finally not able to find a dedicated stand alone ink-jet printer so forced to buy a 3-in-1. Doubt I will use scanner as I already have a satisfactory, if ancient, Epson Perfection V100.

We needed to replace our aging Epson 3-in one printer and this looked much neater and smaller. Although we liked the individual colour refills on the Epson, we didn't feel that we'd saved that much over Epson ink so we went for this neat white unit. Printing is as you would expect nowadays - very good and quick. We connected via cable so cannot comment on the WiFi set-up. A bit disappointed that it won't take the cheaper replacement cartridges and OEM cartridges are outrageously expensive but we put in XL's and a couple of months later it's still saying 75% full, so not too bad. The screen is a little bit of a fiddle, but we mainly control everything from the PC anyway. The scanner is good quality and quick too!Overall I'd give it a 4 out of 5. Better than the Epson we had.

Great prints. Copies well too although....Document cover (lid) hinge on the right hand side popped out on the first scan of a thick textbook's page.Managed to gently pop it back in with a screwdriver (suggest opening the cover, tilting the offending hinge back about 15 degrees, inserting part way, then while very gently pressing downwards and straightening the hinge, press the clip on the front to let it pop in).Document cover definitely needs gentle use, and this may be a week point, but then I might have been unlucky, or pressed down too hard (which the user guide says not to do). Luckily the other hinge did not snap off once the other came out.Document cover feels slightly flimsy - my wifesaid so too.

I bought this to replace our old epson xp300. Had this for about 3 weeks now. I am very well impressed by the speed and print quality. It is quite heavy and sturdy unlike some cheaper flimsy one. Initially was going to buy the xp4100 but luckily they were out of stock. I am pleased that i paid a few more pounds for a far superior printer. It has bags of options. It has a proper paper tray so no need to feed paper through the feed slot at the back. It has an output tray that you pull out to print. The printer will remind you if you have forgotten to do it. The display and options are fantastic. Install was super easy. Overall, very chuffed to have purchased this printer.

This is a very competent printer. The set up was straight forward, and the printer connected to the computer Wi-Fi on it's own without any trouble. The print and color are excellent and all the features work great. My favorite is the automatic duplex printing which it does without having to manually re load the paper. As a home user, it has all you would ever need, but I thought to go for this as I thought the overall build quality of a printer at this price would be better than buying a cheaper model. I will probably only rarely use the Automatic document feed.Altogether am very pleased with the printer, and look forward to using it for years to come

If you like me spend 3 hours pulling out the top paper draw thinking it is the printed paper shelf don’t beat yourself up !!!!! I pulled it out, pushed it in did the f-ing hokey kokey and still it would not print. Today whilst I was calm ( !!!!) I gently put my hand above the upper paper tray snd low & behold there was the tray hidden right at the back. The top flap had never lifted itself up to allow that view.Apart from all that drama ( only 2 weeks worth) it prints really quickly. From my phone & computer over wifi. Very neat. Good value for money AND I can print onto DVDs which is why I bought it. Now I can move on to the rest of my life !!!! ?

This is an ideal printer for the home - the paper tray is not very big, so it really works best for low volume personal use. It is relatively compact and is easy to use. It sometimes shows an error due to the paper feed, but this seems to clear just by opening the top of the printer and shutting it again. So far, there has not actually been a paper jam. I linked it wirelessly to my laptop relatively easily, but have not yet managed to link my phone and ipad. Will have to try again as one of the reasons I bought this one was to print from those devices. I'm glad I bought it.

Arrived a day ago, this is my initial impression. A neat machine, the set up information could be much better, if the customer is not tech minded then I guess they would struggle to install the printer using the instructions enclosed. What was not apparent in the on-line description is that the output tray must be extended fully before the printer will print, so if the printer and the computer are in different rooms it is imperative that the tray is fully extended or you will have a queue. I'm gradually trying all the facilities and so far I'm impressed with the results.

Having had printers in the past that say they would do wireless printing and printing from mobile devices that never actually did what they were supposed to do, I was very reluctant to buy another printer. I decided to go for an all in one and I’m so glad I chose this one. It was easy to set up, connect to my WiFi and then printing was a doddle.I’ve got 2 happy boys who I can now keep busy with colouring pattern, they don’t yet realise I can now print the school work being sent during the lock down ?All in all, fab little printer. I would defo recommend.

As a long term Epson printer user, I was faced with the previous long serving machine starting to prove unreliable. As I have a frequent need to print on to card stock, the old machine had a thick paper setting which was ideal. The new XP-7100 has both front and rear feed so that I am able to print single sheets of card stock easily with no need to change basic paper settings. Print quality is as good as expected, the machine is quiet and - a bonus - it will use up my stock of cartridges from the old XP-640. I hope it runs as long as the old one did.
