I have the 300 which is also a very good pump but not very powerful. So I bought this 1000 version and it's much stronger. It's virtually silent and you can easily control its output. I use this for my water changes rather than as a filter or flow pump, as it saves me having to to lift buckets back and fourth for my 240ltr tank. Therefore the hose has to snake across a couple meters and then flow upwards and in to the tank and this pump does this effortlessly and still produces a good flow. It comes with two pipe fittings 12mm and 16mm as well as a really nice inlet filter with very small holes, which is perfect for keeping small fish and Shrimp safe.I did try it in the tank as a flow pump and you just couldn't hear it,

My wife uses this to pump fresh aquarium water from a floor level 25 litre container into the aquarium (5foot lift) using an Eheim hose suitably clipped on on as she has weak wrists. It works very well and the resultant outflow is fast enough without being to robust. Having said that the pump could have been toned down if it had been to powerful but this doea the job just fine.
