What can i say this game is simply amazing it has stunning cut scene graphics which you have to see to believe, when i first seen the graphics of cut scene i was taken aback by just how great they were. The gameplay is fantastic this provide gamers with hours of fun with over 50 missions to keep you and your army busy with different army's to fight such as the yellow turbans. The best part about the gameplay is its not to difficult and not to easy they have got the balance of play just right which just adds to the gameplay. Plus the fact that you can modify the guards which adds that fun element to the game you can modify the gurads weapons and stuff which makes the guards different. But keeping in mind that you have to stick to your objective which is ultimately defeat the army on that level which are in strongholds which are different groups and each level has groups scattered around the map and you have to take out each group which is fun. Each group has their own officer which you have to destroy the officers are fairly tough to beat so i suggest sticking with your buddies on that one. Plus the combinations you can have 5-6 hit combos at any one time which are really useful when trying to defeat and officer. Gamers watch out for LuBlu hes incredibly difficult to beat and me being a first timer havent beaten LuBlu yet a lot of practice needed i think he is really difficult but what i have found is jumping and hitting him helps or attack from behind so he can't defend himself but this is easier said than done. To truely get happiness from this game you have to love fighting games if you like fighting games then this one i reccomend. Particularly the strategy side is good when you go around in your army and groups of men taking on their groups this i think is excellent. This game is worth every penny of the price tag you wont regret it for all you fighters out their. Happy playing.

First, read the title of this article. Now, read it again. Repeat it to yourself when you go to a video store, game site, etc. Don't let any of the other games in this series fool you, not even number 5. (If you check the reviews in number 5, you will see I have done one there as well.)OK, so what have I got to back up my opinion? I have had this game for a year, and I haven't even come close to completing it. Every character is different, with different moves, weapons, and attributes. Then, when you have exhausted all the weapon experience and stats that every person has to offer (and if you say you have then you're a filthy liar) you need to get all the level 10 weapons. Then what? Stop lying, play it again for three years, then maybe I'll believe you. Have you done that? Now you need to get Xtreme Legends and get the level 11 weapons. If you're finished before you turn 50, you're either god, lying, or awesome.Right, so much for longetivety. Now, gameplay. It's exactly the same as the previous installments, but SHOCK AND AWE, you get 6 hits to wallop the bad guys with. Each of these has a charge attack tagged on to it, and yup, these are different for each character. Now, you people who play number 5 will say, but in DW5 you get 9, haha. You don't need 9. Six is enough for anyone to get along with, and while we're at it, you forgot the musou rage attacks. Why bother? My friend and I own all the games between us, and we both agree that DW4 rules all the others. The balance between innovation and just adding frills is perfect. Buy this game, and if you don't at least don't waste your time and money on any of the others.

I've played Dynasty Warriors 3 and the game is like no other. It may look like your typical hack and slash, but the game actually has more thought to it. Your are put in to a role where you have to lead your chosen team to victory and gain the ultimate prize, China. But to inorder to achieve this, you must participate in some certain battles. Your actions will decide the outcome of the battle. Perform well and the battle is in your favour. If you haven't perform well, you will still have to fight, but in a more disadvantaged position. The graphics in DW4 seems to be more crisper than the previous games and some annoying bugs are now fixed (The problem where the soldiers kept disappearing in DW3 is said to be fixed). The music in the game is still in 'rock' form which really doesn't suit to the background of the game. However, it may grow on to you if you play the game for a while. The sounds in DW3 is pretty much average I have to say. Some speeches made by the warriors are quite laughable to be honest. Hopefully they will make the actors a little bit more enthusiastic for DW4. Also there will be more stages and new features like create your own warrior mode! Previous Dynasty Warrior games were unfortunately overlooked and didn't really get the credit it deserved. Hopefully DW4 will changed that. For DW fans this game is a must. For the curious, I recommend that you should try it out for a bit. You may end up liking it!

I first played this game at my friends house and never stoped playing it. (i ended up staying the night) The games amazing graphics look even more spectacular than the last DW games, the modes are ace including Mousou (arcade) free mode (no time just complete the level for fun) and chalenge ( complete challenges like surviving the longest) The choice of characters is imence starting with 9 and unlocking more extremely quickly the different unlockable weapons just keep getting better and better the more you unlock. The layout of the battlefield is great including maps health bars and mousou gauges (for your special)and on the pause menu there is easy to understand objectives that are easy to follow and can be completed quickly or slowly depending on how you like to play. The edit mode is brill i love making my own officers or bodyguards not that you need to when there is so many cool characters already. I reccommend this game to anyone who owns a ps2 because you;ll love the graphics, modes, characters, weapons, layout, maps andthe pure multiplayer fun a great game for anyone. This is the best game in the world!!!

from the moment i played this at my friends house i knew i had found one of those games that not only allows you to shoulder the responsibility of being a high-ranking officer in an army, you can win or lose the battle for your sidethe graphics are brilliant, and far exceed tose of the previous Dynasty Warriors. the generals have ups and downs. some are slow and sluggish, but deliver one hell of a smash, others are quick and nimble, who use agility to cut their enemys 2 shreds.the game has a story mode (mosou mode) and a free mode. you can play the entire story of ur selected kingdom as one character from that kingdom, or mix and match in free modelevels are huge, and the mapos are highly detailed and change according to what unfurls during the battle. different events happen depending on the order tou take the levels in, and above all, its amazingly addictive, mind-blowingly powerful and a hell of a lot of fun 2 play!this is worth buying, and i reccomend it to anyone who is serious about their ps2

This is a brilliant game. No questions asked. No really. I was a fan of the seires but this blew me away. It has more characters, battlefields and costumes than expected and is truly enjoyable. For a frustrated person home from school or work this game offers relief in the ability to KO 1000's of men in one battle. These battles are huge and event riden. The game contains stats and build up but you can ignore this completly if you wish. It will not ruin a game if you are not into this.If you buy this it will take over your life. It is massive and the real storyline is fantastic. If you are still not sure buy Dynasty Warriors 3 as a test. If you think that is good, you will love this.Choose your favourite looking character (Lu Bu all the way!!), take a deep breath and prepare to surrender your life to the greatest battler ever to exist (on ANY platform).B U Y T H I S ! ! ! ! ! !

This is the latest installment in the gaming series that looks set to continue for infinitySet in China in the battle of the Three Kingdoms (as per usual) you have 40 legendary officers at your disposal all revamped with new combos looks and skills, 3 of which are brand new: Zhou Tai the uncle of Zhou Yu, Cao Ren the cousin of Cao Cao and Yur Ying the wife of the master strageist Zhuge LiangWith all new Weapons Experience Modes and and item set up your sure for many hours of single or multiplayer action of non-stop funWith new head-to-head modes, Challenges it will also give the ability to pit your skills player vs. playerThe main flaw is that there are only 17 different maps for many more levels meaning repeated, cut, copy and past maps that can leave you disappointed but it is still a good gam from a good series

I was new to the DW series, so was uncertain exactly what to expect from this game. This is a superb title with immense replay value with 42 (!) characters to upgrade and play with after unlocking. Detractors of the series say very little changes or is improved on between the DW games, maybe this it true, but regardless this is an excellent game in itself, immensely satisfying when you slay a difficult enemy general or rack up a 1000 kills of enemy troops, or upgrade a character to discover cool new moves.Difficult to fault really. The rock music seems an odd choice as a backdrop for medieval China and some of the voice acting is cheesy, to be expected really as few people seem to do it well...But all of these things matter not. I'll buy DW 5 if it comes it without a doubt.

Dynasty warriors 4 is an amazing, gripping game. It has over 40 characters to play as. More inprovements have been made since the last games, with more kingdoms to play as and more battles to be fought. You can create your own officers and bodyguards, adding more depth and creativity. You now have orbs, a type of attachment that adds effects to your attacks. The weapon system has also changed. Your weapons gain weapon experience by defeating enemy officers, and upgrade. More items have become available, also more officers ahve been added since dynasty warriors 3.I recomend this game to people who are interested in an epic fighting game, and people who are interested in the Romance of the three kingdoms saga.

The fourth game in the hugely popular Dynasty Warriors series (hugely popular in Japan, anyway), has now made its appearance on the PS2. Superficially, it doesn't seem that different from its predecessor. A closer look, however, reveals a multitude of improvements; weapons can now be customised with upgradable orbs, with each character favouring a certain element. There are more items than ever before, allowing you to customise your character to your own particular preference (I'm a True Musou gal, meself). All these items need to be collected, along with extra costumes and characters, meaning that you will be playing this game for a very, very long time if you are a completist. Buy it, but it,buy it!!!

Evem more characters are available in the latest installment of the DW series, it also gives you the chance to be able to create up to four of your own bodyguard units - orginal four not so good, so recommend changing! & also creating your own edit officer to be able to use in various modes of the gameThis time you gain weapon experience instead of collecting them & you do this by defeating enemy officers, hitting them with charge attacks & attacks that are above eight hits in a rowNu Wa & Fu Xi from the last game are no longer in this game, a little strange but their lack of appaereance is made up with several new playable characters instead

Absolutely amazing, thats all i can describe it as. My boyfriend introduced me to DW3 around xmas time and i love it. This one is alot better though, better graphics, more characters, one on one duels with enemy generals and the added option of creating your own officer or bodyguard. The amount of levels is astonising, i'm on battle 13 and still not finish we as the last one was only 9 battles each. Unfortunately there is a small downside to this game, in DW3 in 2 player mode you could play anyone you unlocked, in DW4 you can only play a character from the same army as player 1, despite that the game is still worth a 10 out of 10

Out of all games, this has to be one of the best. Where do I start? The characters, the graphics, the battles...oou, it's just all good! You are able to choose from a selection of unique officers, and are faced against a whole variety of opponents who are armed with tricks, strategists, and ambushes! The officers are different in their own many ways. There's the feisty and ambitious Lu Bu, the beautiful and charming Diao Chan, and who can forget the jolly but normally drunk Zhang Fei!? =DFor any action game lover, this is a must! Buy it! Rent it! It's the same with all Dynasty Warriors Games: Miss it, miss out ;)

20.10.2003

this is a really good game as the graphics are good the game lasts a long time as there are lots of things to unlock. the levels do get boring after a while and the weapon upgrading system isn't as good as dynasty warriors 3. there are more challenges in challenge mode.on the unit info(in battle) the faces are crap as they all have genreally the same faces unless they are a playable character. the fact that lu bu is impossibly hard to kill is no fun and most generals retreat if you kill all of the sub-generals under him.

When I typed in Dynasty Warriors, and it came up with Dynasty Warriors 4, I nearly fell off my chair! I already have Dynasty Warriors 2 and 3 and also Extreme Legends on the PS2, and they rock. Dynasty Warriors 4 promises to be a lot better, with better graphics, improved combat moves, new characters with their own mini-adventures and a whole lot more. I have pre-ordered this game and seen and read many reviews about it. For those fans of the previous few Dynasty Warriors (and for those who are not), this is a must buy!
