Everyone needs at least one game on their Switch where they can jump in, make some meaningful progress and then jump out again. Diablo 3 is that game.D3 is all about the loot grind: go to a dungeon, massacre the inhabitants, collect the loot, upgrade your gear. For most players, the first time through campaign mode (which took me about thirty hours) will be a power fantasy: playing on Normal or Hard you will not be challenged, though you can level faster if you are willing to select one of the (many) higher difficulty settings. Only once the story is over will you begin the long post-game in which you will learn to optimise your gear and skills, taking on ever-harder dungeons along the way.(Important tip: start your first character as Seasonal because this will give you an extensive set of challenges that ensure that you get targets and rewards as you work your way through the Adventure mode.)Because this is a AAA game the music & sound are great, the classes are satisfyingly fleshed out in terms of abilities, and the plentiful gear is all shown on the character model. Unfortunately the low poly count on the Switch version means that you will not see your character (or banner) as clearly as you might hope, meaning that some of the pleasure in customisation is lost in translation. But the graphical resolution is the only compromise here: the game runs like a dream at a stable 60fps even when you are being swarmed by tens of demons shooting off magic effects all over the screen.I haven't tested this game online yet but co-op is where the best experience is to be obtained as I know from playing couch co-op on the PS4 version. Refreshingly, Blizzard have added a mode so that two people can play with one joycon each: clearly that would be a huge compromise but at least it's there. If you have a pro controller I strongly recommend it (it's easier on your thumb when you're pounding that A button) but many will play purely in handheld mode and it works well in that configuration as well.If you consider that there is almost endless play with each character yet you can play through with multiple characters, value for money is not in question here. If the game loop gets you, this could easily become your most played game on Switch. What's not to like?

This game had lots of negative press in the beginning and it put me off from buying it at all. After no really good games coming out I was lost on what to play for a while and this game kept popping up that it’s a great game now and a lot of effect was put in to reclaim its fan base. I can honestly say that they did a great job with this game. The seasons they have introduced was an excellent idea and players have a new challenge to work towards every couple of months. So if you get bored of the grind you take a break and go back again when the new season starts. The concept of the game is simple, grind for gear get the gear sets you want or need and then do the dungeon runs and see if you can complete the levels.Once you completed your max level, you will need to continue grinding gear if you want to achieve a higher level. What you put into the game is what you get out. I have to mention that gear is all RNG based and this can be very frustrating if you looking for that one specific high geared item as there are so many items in the game you might never end up getting what you want. With regards to this though you are able to re-roll stats on items but this also comes at a cost, not really money but just lots and lots of time.I like the characters and roles you able to choose and I have multiple characters for both season and non-season. I really love the pet designs in this game and all the Easter eggs that are also possible to find. The maps and dungeons are well designed and laid out these enemies also look cool and there isn’t really any bad I can say about the overall visuals in the game.Overall this has been one of the best games I’ve played this year, even though I picked it up late I have still put in well over a 100 hours into this game. The last season was great and I managed to get to around level 115 which was awesome. The new season is now upon us and I will be jumping into the grind again soon when there is a lol in the gaming months.

This is one of the best PC to console dungeon slash RPGs on the market! The Eternal Collection has the complete Diablo III package including Reaper of Souls + Necromancer package. The gameplay is very smooth, graphics are well rendered and doesnt glitch when playing 4-player co-op modes regardless of how much activity is on the screen at any given time. The gameplay is hack and slash style with a birds eye view camera style. Multiplayer Modes are on a single screen with a drop-in / drop out player system. The game hame 21 difficulty modes to keep you challenged and tonnes of customisations, weapons, moves, pets etc to choose from and upgrade. The are plenty of additional challenges and extras to unlock after completing the game so the game has planety of life afterwards.I find it more entertaining when playing with friends (either couch co-op or online). If you play on some of the insane higher difficulty levels, you will need all the help you can get.The XP for characters are evenly distributed when playing Multiplayer modes so other players won't feel left out.The only downside is that the online Multiplayer mode is not as straightforward as other games. If you are playing with another person on your console and wish to join another party online, then all players must have a PS Plus account to participate online, not just the main account holder. I found this quite annoying as I play this game with my wife at home but I am the only one with a PS Plus account. Unfortunately she can't join in if I play online!Other than that, the game is great and will gives hours of fun once you've got the hang of it!

I have come from playing this game on pc , some of my family members cant stand using a mouse / keyboard so i waited and purchased for the Nintendo Switch . Blizzard have done a superb job with this and many of the negative comments on their pages are from people complaining "You should have released this or that for PC gamers" i can understand PC gamers have waited a long time for a brand new Diablo release from Blizzard but that doesnt give them the right to deny console players the right to play games - This is between them and Blizzard. Graphically it looks fantastic especially for a console release , playing on the big screen in couch co -op ( we have tried it with 3 playing so far )is fantastic . So far i cant complain at any aspect of the game it contains all the dlc ever released and a couple of extra items which are switch exclusives , They wont make any difference to your gameplay as they are just cosmetics . Great game and if you love destroying hordes and looting there are literally hundreds of hours gameplay here . People are complaining about the price , The average gameplay hours for people on Diablo is over 200 hours , Many people are happy to buy a game release and get 20 hours so i cant personally see a problem paying £42.00 and getting a few hundred hours gameplay or more . If you havent played diablo before this is a great investment , If you have and love D3 its still a great investment . I have played around 20 hours so far and will be playing many more on Switch with my other half and kids .

Diablo 3 I remember watching gameplay footage after the PC version was released for the Xbox 360 and was very skeptical about picking up this style/genre of game. After picking it up on the 360 I never looked back. The gameplay was enticing, story was very well thought out and put together, graphical style and frame rate were fantastic with a levelling system for your choice of 4 characters at the time was enough for me to fall in love with this game. In fact so good I then repurchased it for the Xbox One and played it all the way through again.I'm now back for the Nintendo Switch version and I'm now on to my 3rd playthrough and I can honestly say I'm having just as much fun with the game asI did all them years ago when it was first released only this time it's in my bag and I can take it anywhere. Not only that the game looks just as stunning as it does on my Xbox, maybe not as sharp but my god it runs buttery smooth on the switch with graphics on par.You have the character choices of Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, Witch Doctor, Wizard and each with there own style of play! Trust me you can get so much out of this game plus it comes with every single piece of DLC that was ever released. If you've honestly never tried a game of this genre please don't hesitate and give it a go you'll either love it or hate it but for myself I never looked back. There is also the added bonus of online/coop play with your mates!! This being up to 4 players!!Give it a go you'll have an absolute ball!!

Man, I've had Diablo 3 on the PC since soon after release, but I never really got into it. Something about clicking the mouse over and over again just wasn't too compelling for me.Then, years later, this port comes out to one of my favourite consoles of all time. All I can say is that I LOVE it. The controls just FIT, and feel so much better than the PC. Yeah, the graphics have been reeled back in a bit so that it works well on the Switch hardware, but for me this isn't an issue at all. In my opinion, the game looks and runs great in both portable and docked mode.Have played a bunch of it online with a friend of mine and it's such a dream, it just WORKS! Admittedly,we use Discord either through our PC's or mobile phones for voice chat, but that's so easy to set up and run that it's not an issue at all. Haven't experienced any lag this way, even when I was playing it upstairs in my house with 1 bar of WiFi signal. It sucks up the battery in portable mode, played about an hour and a half and was down to 33% battery, but I have had my Switch for about 2 years, and it's obviously the older model with the 3 hour battery, so to be expected I suppose.Anyway, great game which is lots of fun to play alone or with some friends. Sound, controls and graphics are all top notch as you would expect from Blizzard. If you are on the fence, just get it!!

It's Diablo III, so you're more than likely aware of its existence on PC and consoles. I've enjoyed all Diablo games though I do think III is the weakest (still a 4-star game though).Hack, slash, special move, roll, collect loot, repeat. The gameplay beats can be quite addictive and if you love finding out what might drop next you'll be in heaven. You can get rather locked into the gameplay, but it's really quite shallow. The main campaign is short at around 10-15hrs, but a wealth of practically infinite content awaits after. The game looks great and plays smoothly in handheld mode (I rarely play anything docked on Switch), and any graphical concessions made when the action heats up are barely noticeable. For such an old game the price point is a little sore.£24.99 would be more appropriate. That said, Diablo III on Switch marks the first version of this game I've actually finished - there's something about portability that makes this game that much more appealing.

It's the full game and it is awesome for those long travels that you need to kill some time. The graphics are obviously never going to match a PC, or even maybe the console variants, but it maintains a constant 60fps for the most part and very rarely do I see those graphics drop even further unless there is some mondo action going on, on screen.well worth the price and my opinion one of the best games you can get for the switch.Control and movement have been well thought out and makes for an easy transition from PC/Console.I will say that that the only disappointing thing is that there is no cross-play, and no way to link my progression on PC over to the switch, which means you are basically starting from the beginning again. But they have made it so you don't need to complete the game in adventure mode to be able to use any of the other modes, so it is totally easier to level and grind your way back up.

A surprisingly good running port, Diablo 3 never stutters, ever for a second, when you are killing 30+ monsters at once. Been trying out the necromancer and that easily increases the number of on-screen mobs by 10 in any fight. One thing I'm not crazy about is how they've handled the inventory screen. Instead of the classic Diablo inventory you have a wheel for every slot. Selecting that will show all the gear you have for it, basically filtering it. My main issue, and where the simplification comes to play, is that there seems to be no limit to your inventory anymore. No reason to pop a portal and go sell something. Not sure if this is just for the switch or if they did this for all console ports of the game. But still,a very fun dungeon crawler that runs extremely smooth. Careful if you plan on playing outside though. The game is quite dark. It can become hard to actually see what's on the screen.

Still a fantastic game even though it feels like it came out ages ago (actually only 6 years)! Much more action orientated than Diablo 2 and a lot of the systems have been refined and simplified but it is all the better for it.The console version is far better than the PC version as the faster gameplay is much more suited for a controller rather than mouse and keyboard and the PC version simply doesn't support a pad. The dodge control on the right stick is also very useful and full local co-op is great so I can go demon hunting with my nephew.Mutiplayer is actually very well done with pretty much any combination of local and remote co-op being supported so you can have 2 playing local and 2online and it works. The Xbox One version runs smooth and actually looks better than the PC version plus you get all the additional content such as the Necromancer character.

One of the best games on PS4 hands down.I have played Diablo since the first one on PC and even though nothing can beat 2 in my opinion this is close. The vanilla version is nothing compared to Reaper of Souls, it added a whole new game to Diablo, with rifts and greater rifts and the new chapter V and also adventure mode where its endless and you can farm high end gear. Blizzard are still releasing patches adding new seasons and content so you get ALOT of gameplay and content for the price. Its so good I have got platinum on 3 different versions and still go back to it every now and again. It also has multiplayer of up to 4 players which is also fun, challenging and more rewarding.I bought this for my son for Christmas so we can play multiplayer even though I have full level 70 characters

I've played many (if not all) of the Diablo series of games (on numerous platforms), but I'll keep this short and to the point; I really like this. Why?1. Really well suited to the Switch (portable, but powerful, which is more about the console than the game).2. It's looks and feels great (yes, in game navigation is a little tricky, if you're not used to it, but it plays really smoothly...)3. It's great to play, but more importantly it's great value! I'll go back again and again, to play this as different character types.I suppose it doesn't really offer anything particularly new (or exciting?) but then 'if the format's not broken' (just make it all run better?)Personally,I really like it and I'm more than grateful that I can play this on my console, at home and on the move.

I was really amazed by just how good the port of this game to nintendo switch it. I often find with switch games that the ports are functional but have really long loading times and just don't give the same experience. Diablo doesn't do this at all, the graphics are still very good and everything is incredibly smooth, the wait times are short and the game consistently runs in a very high frame rate (feels like about 60)The game itself works very well on the platform, the controls fit nicely and its a really solid choice for a game to pick up for anything from 10 mins to hours, I couldn't recommend it more. I only somewhat enjoyed the game on PC,but I've had so much more fun with it on the switch and could easily see a good 100 hours or more of game-play coming out of this one

What a fantastic game, and an excellent port to the Switch. A lot of fun to play and very addictive "I'll just do this part before I finish for the day .....". The controls are first class with the Joy-Cons or Pro Controller and the user interface has been very well adapted to the Switch. It's wonderful as both a single player and a network game and it will keep you occupied for many, many hours.Easily one of the most enjoyable games that I've bought for a long time and well worth every penny.I'll also add that if you have a PC there's a short demo version of the PC game on Blizzard's site if you wish to try before buying and get a feel for the game - it's the same game of course just differentcontrols and user interface (PC version is keyboard/mouse control).

Its diablo on the go? What more can I say?Its still baffling that you can just jam the game card in your switch and boom, off you go.The complete diablo 3 with its dlc's additional characters and the free seasonal content. The wealth of content this game offers if its your particular taste is nearly inexhaustible, plus you can play co-op and i nary experienced a drop in performance which was equally amazing because when things used to get busy on the ps3 version the game would start chugging and slowing down.Like I said a damn solid purchase and an excellent way to enjoy this venerable game on the go.In short well worth the money and works great as a portable title without skimping on features, content or performance.
