We moved to a new place with a very large area of trees and bushes including many overgrown Leylandii conifers with trunks up to about 14 inches thick . I've never before owned a chainsaw but bought this one after reading many positive reviews. Its great - really easy to use and cuts through large tree trunks with ease. It has already despatched around seven large conifers and a many other thick Hawthorne and other trees and we logged them with about three battery charges. We bought two batteries which ensures long enough sessions cutting and lopping but probably could have managed with one battery as they seem to charge really quickly . The saw uses oil to keep the chain lubricated but it pretty frugal with that resource .

Bought this for some heavy conifer pruning and log chopping for an open fire.It has hugely exceeded my expectation. Its had some falls over 10 feet and is unharmed.It can easily cut through green wood up to 12 inches diameter.Battery life is very good, but I would stick to 5Ah, with two batteries I was easily able to charge as quickly as I was using them although I am not a professional so I'm not pushing it as hard as some people would.Doesn't leak oil like my old Black and Decker mains powered saw, but isn't as powerful as that saw either.Its very quiet, especially compared to petrol saws.I would definitely recommend.

Its a great bit of kit, equally as powerful as cabled electric chainsaws. Its light and easy to use, and can be used one handed, although clearly that's not recommended. if you have other dewalt tools then its a must have item. 5A Battery lasts about 60 minutes of fairly continuous sawing through my woodpile. so for pruning work I would imagine it will last a lot longer. Even my wife used it and really enjoyed it, so it must be easy to handle. Dewalt have definetly gone for quality working with Oregon to produce a great little saw.

I bought this for cutting 4x4 fence posts. It is fantastic at doing this and is a great addition to my Dewalt set up.Compact, powerful, light and well balanced tool.If you need a chainsaw for quick cutting of 4x4 posts or 4x2 timbers - this is the saw for you.I have not tried it on trees and branches but it would be great for that too as long as the trees were not too large.Great piece of kit !!!
