This looks pricey but believe me it's worth it. I actually bought it from Screwfix for the same price, but only because I needed it immediately.It's a substantial bit of kit - heavier than you might imagine. The long foot makes it really easy to use. Adjustment is in 0.1mm increments and appears very accurate. Easy to use and the results are really good - so smooth there's really no need to sand after use. It operates just like a hot knife cutting through butter. It's impressive and after you used it the price seems more than reasonable. Register with Dewalt and you get a 3 year guarantee. What's not to like.

Fantastic planer. Accurate and powerful. Smooth finish even at deeper cuts. Very controllable. You can wind the depth gauge to zero as you plane to taper the cut. Depth gauge is clear and robust and does not slip setting even when used as a handle whilst planing. Much easier to use than corded machine. Robust and sturdy. Quite heavy which is excellent for control. Dust collector bag is essential and works very well and very easy to empty out. Easy to change drive belt as well when that’s needed. Coupled with 5Ah battery this last all day - three doors at my rate of work!

This completes my selection of Dewalt battery power tools and this one in particular I’m very inpressed by. I’ve got a full range of saws (circular, jig, and mitre) grinders, drills ( impact, standard, and SDS) so I’ve got a lot of Dewalt material in my workshop and am very familiar to their quality. This particular piece of equipment is very well built and performs the task asked if it very well.Literally all aspect of this is fantastic in my eyes.Easy adjustment, great extraction of material, and very solid in construction.

Superb product - what a piece of kit!Really substantial build and very easy to use. I now have a whole heap of these XR products, and each and every one is superb without equivocation.If you are looking for a cordless tool system, all I can do is recommend this whole set from DeWalt.Highly recommended.N.B. The products I currently possess are the Circular Saw, Jigsaw, Smallest Blower, Planer, Drill, Driver, Reciprocal Saw, and Nailer.

Have not used an electric planer before and was surprised how easily and successfully it performed. Makes the old hand planer seem really ancient ! I used it with a 2.0 AH battery from my DeWalt drill, and while a more powerful battery would be a better option if you have a fair bit of work to do, and with hard wood, I still managed to plane three sides of an oak door before it started to tire and they don't take long to re-charge anyway.

Had an 240v Makita planer since 1990's and still work's as good as ever.But cables trailing and rain are a hazard so as the Makita was about £290 for body this is about £140 body, delivered.Smooth operation, quick charge and a handy compartment to store spare blades which is very handy when you need a spare quickly on the job.Al in more than satisfied with DeWalt.

The best planer I have ever owned. I have used this to level off a work bench I built from 2x4's and using it was a breeze. The blades cut through pine like a knife through butter. I can't say how well it would do through harder woods as I haven't tried it yet, but I see no reason to be concerned as this has plenty of power behind it

well made, relatively light as power planners go ...accurate cut.. safety trigger release not well positioned making it awkward to use... not had this problem with my many other power tools, however still a worthwhile purchase because of the convenience of a powerful cordless planer with an effortless cut.

This is a fab machine. I wish i'd bought one 5 doors ago! Made planing doors down to fit very simple. This is aworth addition to my dewalt toolbox. Can't recommend enough.Pros: takes all the effort out of planingCons: it makes a lot of mess. So make sure you buy the dust bag or vacuum adapter.

I done a test with a Milwaukee planer and DeWalt planer they look similar but boy two different machines around doors the DeWalt is the champion by a long way it's so smooth you'd think u and the planer are floating in air when it comes to doors the Milwaukee planer is not allowed out

Needed a planer for a big job .. the site had no power .. looked at others but this one did everything I needed and having lots of dewalt tools it was the natural choice... you do need the bigger batteries as it uses a lot of juice ... but couldn’t fault it .. saved me a lot of time.

This is an excellent planeThe adjustment is straightforward, the controls are in the right position, and give a very positive control.It does tend to eat batteries, so have one on the unit and one on charge and you will be going all day...Recommended.

This will not replace your 240V planer. This is a full size machine and it drains the battery. It does 2mm on the 80mm width but it's better suited for trimming. Negatives: RH dust port only. Dust bag has to be bought separately

An unbelievable planer deffo from another world will never buy a makita again they just don't make them the same anymore I have the shed full off them they just don't last anymore but this is from the heavens great great planer

It is a bit bulky so you need a deep t stak case to store it. However this is deceptive as it's still useable single handed. Very good quality and worked very efficiently. Make sure you buy a dust bag as this is optional.
