This is the second deuter I have owned, the last one on its last legs after ten years daily commute. Primarily to protect my laptop, it also holds lunch and assorted cables, gloves. Didn't look at any others. It's so comfortable, no sweaty back and hardly know it's there. The design updates are very good overall, although I do miss the small outside zip compartment. That said I did buy for 62. Not sure I'd pay 83.

My wife suffers back problems, which causes problems with a lot of backpacks, as the weight pulls down they hang off the back. But this particular design has a semi-rigid frame, which ensures the backpack is supported against the lower back, making it much more comfortable. This is brilliant for a weekend travelling bag.
