We bought Two Deuter Fox 40s in 2013 for our then 7 and 9 year olds. Over the last 6 years they have seen a lot of use from hiking the full Long Trail (272 miles plus), to day trips, to winter camping. They have grown with our kids from pint size to bigger than I am. Yet, they are as comfortable, versatile as ever, and still look near new. These packs are the real deal. The back straps are highly adjustable making it easy to dial in a perfect fit. In fact, on 15 mile days, I’ve been quite jealous. The fit is great and the load distribution, even at 20 plus pounds, is great. Their size works for weeklong trips with ultra lite gear and yet doesn’t feel over sized for a day hike.

Dad got it for me for Christmas and i love it. Recommend it to others who are small and serious about camping.
