This backpack looks cool. I love the design. It looks serious and smart. The sharp and aggressive detailing appeals to me.Not only does this look the business, it is well made and designed too. The bag itself appears rip and tear proof. It is highly durable and robust. The zippers and zips are YKK branded, these are probably the most reliable and well constructed zippers in the textile industry according to Insider. And I have to say my experience would also confirm this. The mesh pockets for bottles are well constructed and look durable. This is important as they could be carrying a fair bit of weight. A one litre aluminium bottle is quite weighty and the mesh needs to secure that well.Being exposed to getting scraped it's important that it could withstand that. They look up to the task. The sunglasses pocket at the top of the bag is a handy compartment. It is not as soft as I expected. It's not microfiber fleece. It's not really fleece at all. I never put my sunglasses in things like this anyway. But this compartment fits in my Galaxy s9+ easily and is perfect for that. The main section of the bag is a good size. Suitable for a good few exercise and text books, a pack lunch and a jumper. At a push. The front pouch is suitable for a tablet. The drawstring cord at the front is great for if your bag is stuffed with things then you can carry your jumper using that. It will even carry a bike helmet. An added bonus is that these have reflective materials sewn into them. And they are extremely reflective. The back and straps have a suitable amount of high density padding. Suitable for daily use for commuting or to and from school or university etcetera. It's comfortable to wear for a few hours. Although I could imagine the material would make your back rather warm in hotter weather as it is that kind of material.Ultimately this bag is functional enough. But what really makes it stand out is how cool it looks. I like a few of the other designs too.I'm unsure as to why the product description really emphasizes this as a school bag. Yes it would be brilliant for that but it is also suitable for a number of other adult uses. It would be great as a commuting backpack, good for days out and even a modest hike.

I think this is a cool looking, small backpack that is perfect for school/college or commuting with. I’m a fan of the design which looks snazzy but not too much that it stands out and the logo on the front goes really well with the bag. It’s extremely lightweight which makes it great for travelling and even though the materials are thin, they feel high quality and durable with the only exception being the side pockets which may tear if caught on something, but the quality of the mesh is still good. You have the main compartment which is big enough to hold most items you might take to college or a place of work,I managed to fit a thickly padded coat into it with a bit of space to spare but it could easily hold a small laptop or tablet along with books and a some other medium sized items. The zips only open to a quarter way down the bag each side though so it doesn’t open out fully. The fleece lined pocket on top can easily hold my Galaxy S10+ although you have to insert and remove it at an angle as the mouth isn’t as wide as the phone when its sideways. The front pocket is large enough to hold an A5 book or a 9-inch tablet and the mesh pockets can each hold a 500ml water bottle. The shoulder straps are adequately padded although they might get a bit uncomfortable after carrying a heavy load for a long period of time. Both straps are adjustable, and it’s got another strap to go across your chest to help take some of the load off your back and aid stability. There is also a bit of padding on the rear of the bag and it features a carry handle on the top.Overall, I really like this bag and I think its ideal for commuting with. It’s got a great design to it and is highly reflective of a night-time for added safety which I also like. Although the price seems on the higher side, I feel its justified by the higher quality of the materials and stitching that are used, there’s no doubt it’s a well-made bag, even the zips are quality. For all these reasons I’m happy to recommend this backpack and I feel it deserves five stars!

My dog walking backpack had bitten the dust and this has fit the bill perfectly. It's a great size, not too big nor too small. I can fit her blanket/towel, walk toys, food, bowl, water bottle, poo bags, treat bag in there as well as my own water bottle, phone, keys etc Although I wouldn't use the top 'sunglasses' pocket for my sunglasses, it is perfect for my phone and I feel confident it's safe as it's kept separately from everything else in the bag, and won't get scratched as the interior of that pocket is very soft - not really fleece, more like the fabric you get in the pockets of a lot of walking jackets. The bag is very lightweight (so would also be useful as a plane carry on bag when you want to make the most of your weight allowance). It appears to be at least shower-proof and may stand up to more than a shower - I haven't been able to put that to the test yet. The zips are quality/strong, and the fabric that makes up the majority of the bag although thin feels quite strong and may be more durable over time than it feels. The side pockets where I store the water bottles I'm less confident about; I feel the fabric used could snag and perhaps even tear quite easily with regular use.At this stage the bag costs far more than I would be prepared to pay for such a product. I suspect it will stand up the the rigours of my intended purpose for it, so who knows, if it's still serving it's purpose in a few years time I may think differently, however for those who know they need a robust product that has longevity and will stand up to heavy daily use, and perhaps an certain amount of abuse, I'm not sure this is the bag for you, at this price. As an example, having had teenage children who used a backpack for school, carried books, kits, lunch, chucked it around (as they're prone to doing) I doubt this bag would have lasted them very long although it would have been an ideal size.

This is a very decent light-weight backpack. I like the modern designs that are available, with a variety of colours and patterns in the mix. One point worth mentioning though is that there is quite a fluctuation in the price, depending on what colour/pattern you choose. At present, the 'Barley' is priced at £21.45, whereas the Greyscale will set you back £40.55.I do like the features of this backpack though, the fleece-lined sunglasses pocket is a nice touch. Having an adjustable sternum strap is a bonus - how many kids have you seen running to the bus stop with their shoulder straps slipping off? A sternum strap keeps everything in place, and offers more comfort to the wearer. The 'stretchy'outer side pockets are useful for securely holding things like a water bottle. There's also reflective zig-zag bungy storage on the outside. The bag is made from high-grade polyester, which has a surface that is easy to wipe clean, and offers reasonable protection from the rain. The base is made of a thicker nylon material that feels robust enough to take all the likely punishment a school kid is possibly going to give it.

I’ve tried my hand at a few sports, and I know the Dakine brand from surf and outdoor shops - where you’ll find everything from Dakine clothing to board bags, harnesses and leashes. This Dakine 18 litre backpack is a small lightweight backpack made from a good quality polyester material. It’s got decent stitching and zips, and like most things Dakine it feels like it’s made to last. On the exterior there’s two stretchy side pockets, a bungee strap storage area and a zip pocket. Inside is just one open area, but there’s a small fleece lined zip-pocket at the very top for your sunglasses and mobile. Most everyday backpacks tend to be around 20 litres, so at 18 litres this bag is noticeably a little smaller. It’s actually a really nice size though - not too big for a kids school bag, not too small for an adult day bag. Arguably your paying extra for the Dakine name, but it’s still a really nice little backpack with a great design.

I have tested many different backpacks over the years and I still think Wenger make the best ones for quality and longevity. The major issue with the ones I have tried is their weight. Buying a well made Wenger usually means you are carrying quite a heavy bag on your back. This bag is very simple and lightweight. This has both advantages and disadvantages. The advantages its lightweight, portable and you can fit an Ultrabook in it without any issue. The downside is that I do not think it will last as long, nor does it have as many pockets as most backpacks that you can buy. This is a simple backpack, maybe aimed at children who do not need to have a number of zippered pockets and who will not put it through the rigours of airline travel. It is a good quality backpack, but it has limitations. Recommended.

I quite liked this backpack when it arrived. Attractive looking but not flashy. Has plenty of storage for various items. Mesh bottle hold on either side. Small zip pocket on top and front. Roomy main compartment and drawstring area wear you could stuff anything from a jumper to shoes. My slight downside is martial felt thin in place and although good for lightweight wonder how strong it will be. Guess time will tell.I have given it to my 9 year old son to carry around on various outings. From trekking through the woods to weekly cubs meetings. He finds it easy & comfortable to carry. I haven’t used it myself but trust his judgment. He’d be more than happy to very loudly tell me it was uncomfortable if it was.

This bag is well made, and even has a fleecy lined pocket for sunglasses that looks big enough to take a compact camera. and several outer pockets for drinks bottles and cans.It also has a mesh at the back to you could fasten difficult loads to it.However it's not really suitable for anywhere but nice urban walks or work as it has no bladder pocket for a water pouch, something that has become normal in recent years. The harness is reasonably comfortable and the chest strap a useful addition not often seen on urban bags.

This backpack is small in capacity but the straps are adjustable (and padded). It's suitable for a young person to use for school but could be used by anyone. I like the material which is showerproof. It's strongly made and the side pockets are a bit stretchy so provide a good grip. There's also a small top pocket. Little pockets are very useful. This bag is light, smart and strong. A great bit of luggage.

A very lightweight backpack for girls or boys in varying designs. This will be perfect for my grandson who starts senior school this year and although he is old enough, he is small for his age and definitely will not want a heavy back pack; this one will be ideal. It has many pockets and is waterproof with a quality feel to it. Not too small at all, just light and strong.

A good, sturdy day back pack. very roomy and can hold allot in it, very lightweight as well so your not weighted town. This makes a great day bag for trips out, or for use when cycling to old all your gear in. My brother uses it and he like's the cord on the front of the bag as thats where he rigs his back light to when he's biking home in the dark.

I like this stylish backpack as it holds a lot, has an adjustable chest strap and it is very lightweight. I think it is a good size and nice and roomy holding 18L. It doesn't take up to much room when not in use. and isn't bulky. I like the fabric design. It is a little pricey I think.

I am really pleased with this bag. It looks nice and is a good size - not too big but not too small. It is well made and contains handy pockets. It has a waterproof material on the outside which I like.It is quite lightweight as well. The design is definitely unisex as well.

I love the style and design of this bagIt looks really cool. The material is thin, making the bag light, yet it still seems strong. The chest strap comes in handy when carrying very heavy stuff; it relieves the load on the back.
