So I needed a headset for a job I had taken working from home. After doing a lot of research I came over this set. Now, I don't have a ton of experience with gmaing headsets. I previously owned a Turtlebeach set some years ago and while it was fine and sounded great, it honestly wasn't very comfortable and I ended up giving to my niece. How far things have come since then! Firstly I love that the ear pads aren't some nasty, sweaty pleather but rather light, breathable mesh. Secondly they are so light! Despite having LED lighting and an array of feature controls in one ear cup I barely know I have them on. I wear glasses and quite often a baseball cap and with the temporary job I have,I have to wear these for 8 hours a day with only a half hour lunch break in between and honestly I barely know I've had them on - which is just incredible. They cover your entire ear and perch gently on top of your head with no overt side to side pressure or downward pressure from the headband. I've usually always worn earbuds because of my glasses, over-ear headsets usually end up pushing the arms into the side of my head and hurting after a while. Not these puppies! Now as far as sound quality goes - to me, they sound great. Really deep and rich and bassy. But I'm no audophile. I'm sure someone with a set of Bowers and Wilkins, Bose or Beyerdynamics would have something to say about their sound quality, but for a rube like me they seem great. I've started playing Valorant and with the software you can really tune them to bring out those all-important footstep sounds.Mic quality is spot on, I'm not going to overstate it and say it's far beyond anything you'd expect but sits perfectly adequately at this price point. None of the people I speak to during my job have ever complained at not being able to hear me and none of my team mates in CS:GO, Apex, Valorant, COD: WZ or chats in Discord, Skype or WhattsApp have ever complained about a sound issue. As a bonus feature, the mic is removable. The LED's in the ear cups aren't the brightest, my mouse and keyboard LED's are much brighter, but c'mon... it's a set of headphones. The colour selection is incredible, though. Full RGB so whatever your set up theme is, you can get your ear cups to match which is a nice touch. Not sure I really like the micro USB connection - can we puuuhhllleeaaazzzzeee start getting USB-C?! It's a much more solid and reliable connection.Build quality feels really nice, metal and high quality plastics that are matted so they aren't finger print magnets. Seem like they'll last a good while. The buttons have a reassuring tactile feel. The only weak spot I worry about is the USB connector, I feel like if they fell and landed on that, you could end up with a redundant headset.... well.... almost.... it does have a TRRS 3.5mm jack connector so you can use them with your phone or whatever, but then you don't get the lighting or software enhancements. At least they have the option for that if the worst happened.Do I recommend? Well, if you need a headset and have about 60 quid spare then I struggle to think of a better set you can get. It's really down to you and your budget, yes there are cheaper options and yes there are more expensive options but if I had to make the purchase again I would definitely and without hesitation be looking to get another set of these because between the comfort, mic clarity and sound quality they make a very compelling package at a highly affordable price. In my opinion, Creative knocked it out of the park with these and as the OG's in PC audio, you can safely assume they knew what they were doing when they put them together.

Lets make something clear up front, these are not cheap plastic headphones, these scream quality, and are made using reinforced construction whatever that is, to me that means they can stand up to being thrown on the table or on the floor when you have to go get a drink or food etcThey also have microphone sensitivity which may not mean a lot to most people but when you are playing games late at night and the kids are in bed, not having to shout to be heard is pretty cool. The microphone is also detachable and having the ability to put it on and off really makes this set much more versatile, plus the other half can use them to watch a film when im watching Game of Thrones or vice versaThey are super comfy, will hold up to a 6 hour gaming session without any discomfort, plus the headband is adjustable and thats really helpful as my head is not that big.The scout mode feature is something i am having to get to grips with as you notice things you never did before, especially when playing destiny, ive jumped a fair few times, but for people who dont like it you can in fact turn this feature off.For the price i dont think you can go far wrong, and whilst you think they may be expensive to buy a teenage gamer for example, the ability to be able to fully immerse yourself into the game because the audio is so much better makes the gaming experience overall a much better experience. These also have a neat little additional function being the sound blaster connect, this connects directly to your pc/laptop enabling you to alter volume, mic sensitivity, chat volume, and game presets, this is really cool and so easy to use, however it would have been better if i had been able to do this via my xbox or ps4.These however are not just for gaming despite that being its primary function, they also are awesome to watch movies on or just listen to your music, there is no dullness, they are clear, crisp and loud, just how i like it.Highly recommended as long as it doesnt bother you about them being corded.I like the fact that they light up, however its kind of pointless because the things are on your head and you cant see it, also on that note, i dont like the button placement on the cups, i would much prefer that it had a line control because yet again you cant see the controls as they ae on your head.Overall i like them, but i think they are definitely one for younger gamers who are used to such technology.

At the midrange price point (£60 in May 2019), this headset represents a great value option and should definitely be considered. The set up was easy: plug in and download the program from their website. Apart from the program there are physical buttons on the left side including a monitor button which will pass outside sounds into the headphones, so you don't have to take them off - a great feature. The sound was really good for music with really good bass, mids and highs which can be adjusted via the program to your personal taste. The program is easy to use with a great many presets provided out of the box, but you can easily make your own custom ones. However, it fell short on the gaming side. The virtual surround sound has a slight echo/ethereal quality and is not as precise as they suggest, but that will come down to personal taste. At this price point the surround sound is fairly typical of other headphones and will only be beaten by much more expensive headsets so keep that in mind. In game you could just about tell if something was behind you although it got confused some times when things were actually beside you.Stereo sound is where it sounded best and probably beat more expensive headsets I have used past and present with the crystalliser and smart volume it was really adjustable. The biggest selling point to me was the comfort these provided - some of the best on the market without breaking the bank. The earpads are over the ear and super soft and breathable. Long gaming sessions are effortless for this headset they get 6/5 for me some of the best earpads I have ever used to date. The Mic is decent enough clear but a bit bassy for my tastes but is of higher quality than a lot I have used to date.Yes it has RGB lighting as a thin strip on each earcup which looks quite well done and tasteful. If it's not your thing it can be turned off. I have mine red or green to go with the rest of my PC peripherals.Overall this has to be one of the best mid range gaming headset packages out there and can easily compete with headsets £30 more than this. I would recommend this on comfort and music sound alone, it will do you proud.

These Creative Sound Blaster H6 Gaming Headphones represent a good balance between performance and features at an affordable price point. The immediate impression is of a well-made set of USB corded headphones with a detachable boom mic. These are comfortable cans with well vented, non-sweaty and replaceable earpads, I've found wearing these for a prolonged period is quite comfortable, if I had a minor gripe I'd have liked a thick padded headband as opposed to a soft feel one. The important thing though is that the earcups seal to your ears comfortably and efficiently, the latter is important to ensure good sound quality. Also, the fact that the earcups feature customisable illumination is great, okay, it might not affect function but it's part of the gaming get up.The boom microphone is detachable and I like the fact that it features a red LED to tell you when it's muted plus you can if you wish, hear how your voice sounds to your team via the monitor feature. Based on feedback from fellow players the mic produces clear audio. The important thing is that the audio quality of the headphones is pretty good especially at the price point. Specifically, the bass is taut and strong plus mid and high-end frequencies are clear without being too harsh. The overall sound stage sounds big and wide and the Virtual Surround Sound adds a noticeable sense of presence in the games I tried the headset with. The Soundblaster Connect software is decent and complements the headset providing features like EQ presets and Surround Sound etc.The controls are set into the left headset cup and include an ambient monitor which allows you to hear what is going on around, this switch is also duplicated in line. I think I'd rather have traded the inline ambient sound switch for an in-line volume control based on the frequency of use.In summary, given the price point of these Creative H6 cans they tick a lot of boxes for features but at the same time deliver a quality audio experience - I like them a lot.

I genuinely like the Creative products and I have previously bought and owned other earlier versions of the creative gaming headsets, in fact the ones I had prior to these are creative too... I was delighted to therefore be offered a pair for review! The quality of creative headsets cannot be faulted as far as I am concerned and every pair I have owned has stood the test of time and the quality of these is equally as good. What is new about these is the cloth cover the the ear muffs, rather than a leatherette. It is different, but I found it is actually more comfortable and my ears seem to be less sweaty when wearing them. The fit is comfortable and adjustable to various head sizes...my hubby has a large head compared to my own and they fit him just as comfortably as they fit me.For the price, the sound quality is excellent and you have extra features added for gaming, like stealth mode. I also quite like the button which allows you to have noise cancellation or hear what is going on around you... it is often my pet hate, especially when the hubby is gaming, that he can never hear me when I am trying to talk to him, so at least with these, either of us can wear them and not be completely ignorant of whatever else is going on in the room... unless we want to of course! Also the mic on this set is detachable, so you can use the headphones for just listening to music or watching programmes on your laptop/pc.Creative are always working to produce great headsets and I've never had cause to dislike them, since my first introduction to them when I bought a creative MP3 player, which has lasted me over 15 years! They are always priced competitively, often being much cheaper than other similar quality headsets, which can retail up to double the price for similar quality. My current headset is well over a year and a half old and is still working as if new and I hope these will also prove to be just as durable.

Been using this headset for over a year now, so have a fairly good handle on it.As a gaming headset, I'd wanted something that had decent enough sound quality but was comfortable enough to wear for a long session. There's plenty of padding on the ears so, whilst the headset as a whole is chunky, it's comfortable for hours of uninterrupted use. It was originally intended for weekend use only but, following lockdown, ended up being used for hours every day and still remains comfortable.Surround sound quality is exceptional, whether for gaming or listening to music. The mic is slightly sensitive but easily mitigated by the flexibility to move it away from your mouth. Two negatives for me:1)The supplied USB cable is rubbish - it was regularly losing connection on calls when I shifted in my seat, which is a pain at work, and such a stupid thing to cut corners on in a £65 headset - a replacement braided cable from China cost £2 and provides a far more stable headset.2) The mute button doesn't light up on the headset. There's an audible one beep off, two beeps on mute setting on the headset, but the number of times (I can only assume that) I've knocked the mute button whilst picking it up to answer the phone and then launched into a conversation to be followed with "Hello? Hello?" beggars belief. Just stick an LED behind the mute button so that you can see if it's on and it'd be so much simpler. That said, one of those is easily fixed and the other doesn't change that the headset more than meets expectations for what it was bought for.

GOOD THINGS:1. Windows 10 installed it in seconds.2. When connected, other sound outputs (external speakers) are automatically switched off (USB only).3. Light weight, well balanced.4. Comfy and secure fitting, dense memory foam.5. Good quality sound - crisp and bassy.6. The mic now has a removable foam pop filter (but this is not shown on the box or explained in the instructions).7. The Volume control wheel adjusts Windows output volume (USB only).8. It has both USB and 3.5mm analog jack connections. :)9. The EQ button makes a small difference (EQ presets: gaming is less bassy, movies and music are more bassy.NIGGLY THINGS:1. The hard plastic USB cable (if tapped)resonates and amplifies as knocking sounds to the left earcup. A braided or corded USB cable would have reduced this.2. The mic is low output by default. This can be boosted to 80-100% via Windows Settings > Sound > Input > Device properties; or by using the Creative Connect software.3. The Ambient Monitor button just turns off the sound input and lets you hear the mic input. Any normal person would simply lift the headset off, rather then fumbling around for a button to do this.4. You have to install additional Creative Connect bloatware to re-configure it (e.g. change the colour of the LED from red to something else, or change the EQ settings).

This is a good set of gaming headphones though not quite 5 stars in my opinion. The general build quality and comfort is good though I found the spring tension quite tight. The cups are nicely padded and sit comfortably giving good insulation. I can feel a slight weight resting on the top of my head where the band presses down. It is padded so not too uncomfortable. The sound quality is good - good enough that you can listen to music with them. I found a hiss with the volume above medium which surprised me since I have them plugged straight into a good quality external SBX sound card made by Creative.I find the absence of bluetooth a drawback. The cable is really annoying for me as my soundcard is under the screen. Some people will have more convenient configurations but it is always going to be a nuisance to some extent. I guess this is to avoid lag but I have played games in the past using bluetooth without noticing a problem from lag. The other advantage I suppose is there is no danger of running out of battery at a crucial moment of gameplay.Overall it's good value for money and should make a decent choice unless you are looking for something in a higher price range.

This is a gaming headset suitable for use with all the common systems (PC, Mac, X-box, Nintendo, PS4). It's comfortable and not too heavy on the head. The earpads are comfortable and removable. The sound quality is good and does feel somewhat like "true surroundings". This headset's sound is not as good or as sharp as (what I thought of as) my humble samsung earphones but I've come to realise that it's my earphones that are really good, not these headsets that are bad.The ambient monitoring works well but in my opinion is a really odd feature, I'm not sure why one would want to be able to hear the surrounding noises as loudly as the noises from the computer whilst wearing a headset - isn't thewhole point of a headset to cancel out sound from the environment to focus on the game?Another odd feature is having the sound controls on the ear. It's unusual and hard to get used to and it would be annoying to move the hand so much to change the volume whilst in the middle of a game. Conclusion: a headset proving good quality sound, and lots of extra features which in my opinion don't add any extra value.

Creative have been synonymous with quality sound-related products for PCs for nearly 40 years now, and they show no signs of stopping with this gaming headset.Considering the price (£65) compared to some of the high-end headsets, you'd be forgiven for expecting issues in build quality, installation, comfort and the sound itself. This headset suffers from none of these. The build quality is great, feeling solidly made and when wearing are nice and comfortable. The cloth ear covering is different, and arguably better, allowing for a cooler feel due to better breath ability than the leatherette used previously. Installation simple, plug in, download software from website, done.Sound quality is excellent, and really not a huge amount of difference in quality than other headsets you'd pay a lot more for, the range suffers a tiny bit, but nothing that would be considered a problem...the mic works well, give or take the odd dropout, but that's arguably to be expected though with any headset given latency at any given time. All in all, given the price, awesome value for a quality headset.

PROS:+ Nice balanced sound signature, slightly lacking in bass but still present.+ Software suite is easy to setup and simple to use, offers lots of customization through equalizers etc.+ Has one of the better virtual surround sound implementations.+ Removable cable, both USB and 3.5mm.+ Multi-platform compatible, although you lose most features unless you connect via USB.+ Controls are all located on the left earcup, they are intuitive and easy to use.+ Headset feels solid and well built.+ Microphone quality is well above average, especially when used on PC using the software. No noise or background hiss, natural sounding voice.CONS:- Headset is on the heavier side, makes it quite fatiguing after an hour or so.- Clamping force is also above what I would like.- Ear pad material is quite scratchy on the skin, you do get somewhat accustomed to it over time.- Ear cups have very minimal articulation, so they may not fit every head shape well.- Overall the general comfort was not great, your mileage may vary of course.

Every pair of headphones is different. This make them hard to review and recommend. I’m lucky enough to have tried a fair few in this price range. The audio quality is one of the best I’ve heard. Voices in chat and in game sound brilliant and bass, whilst not the heaviest, had a great punch to it when needed. They are very light and comfy to wear for ages. The mic is reported back to me as being very clear. Although I’ve never heard different from any headset mic in the price range. The only issue the the cable connecting them. To use the usb cable and have the lights working, you must connect to the headset via micro usb. This comes out all the time. Just with general movement and brushing against it.It’s not loose or anything but just a terrible idea to do it this way. I feel this is the reason they aren’t priced higher. Everything else about them is brilliant. If you can put up with the cable and be careful not to move too much then these are a steal. But due to this annoyance I wouldn’t recommend them. Such a shame

For the price you cannot go wrong. For a mid-range headset with 7.1 surround sound. What more could you want? I really like the RGB lighting. It's a nice little touch. Sure, you can't see it, but still nice. Now for the more important part ... the mic. Now don't get me wrong the mic was good for the most part. I tested it on Discord. But, at times you will get feedback as it is sensitive. Other times I experienced sounds distortions and other issues. So, far it's working fine now. Compared to ... hmm, well compared to the Hyper X cloud 2. I'd say they are near identical in terms of sound quality. But when it comes to mic and communication. Hyper X wins hands down. There is a software suite called Sound Blaster Connect 2,which allows you to enhance and enrich your listening experience. Always handy to be honest. But yeah, it losses a star due to the issues I've had with the mic. But, if you don't talk much then, by all means. Greatness and immersion awaits

Before I gave these to a friend's ardent gamer teenaged son, I thought I'd try them out myself, purely as listening headphones. I was very impressed. They deliver exceptional sound quality at the price, and for me they were a winner. As a set of gaming headphones, I thought I would wait a couple of months before placing a review from conversations I had with my pal's son (when he's not gaming, of course). He ranked them very highly. He's been known to spend hours on the gaming console during school breaks, and I am pleased to report that these 'phones have not only survived, but he has come to really rate them from a sound point of view. He found no problems with the microphone, and teenagers can be a bit cavalier about how they treat items like headphones, they've proved durable - he liked the adjustable headset, and found them comfortable to wear over long periods. All in all, the boxes are ticked, and happy to recommend them to would-be purchasers.

I wanted a headset that could fit me better than the Kingston cloud hyperx, and that used fabric instead of PU leather.Sound quality is good, earcups are big and fit is greatThe microphone works over 3.5mm 4 pole jack & over USB.The extra features (volume control, monitoring, EQ, lights) work when the USB connection is used.Update - Jan 2020Still impressed by these, especially at the price (about £60). I have (or used to have) the Kingston Hyperx, Steelseries Arctis 3, Sennheiser Game One, Creative Tactic Sigma and an on-ear Sennheiser PC headset (PC 155?)My favourite headsets are the Sennheiser Game One and this Sound Blaster H6, both for the sound and comfort - have often found it hard to find headphones/headsets large enough to fit my head and ears...these 2 are nice and comfy! You can also unplug the microphone and use them as headphones for a mobile phone etc. using the 3.5mm jack cable
