♦ Introduction ♦Creative's 'Sound BlasterX H3' headset is not aimed at just one device, it can be used on the following: PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One and Android/iOS tablets and smartphones. The compatibility of multiple devices makes this an ideal headset to have if you want one headset for all.♦ Contents ♦- Inside the box you will find:∙ Main headset which has a fixed audio cable with in-line controls for volume and muting.∙ Attachable boom microphone.∙ Microphone/Headphone splitter cable (for PC & Mac use).∙ Instruction Manual.♦ Set-Up ♦No matter what device you're planning on using this headset with,it's a simple and quick set-up:∙ Smartphone/Tablet: Plug the headset into the headphone jack.∙ PS4: Connect the headset to the DualShock 4 controller (You may need to select the headset in the audio device settings).∙ Xbox One: Connect the headset to the controller.∙ PC/Mac: As there are dedicated microphone & headphone ports, you will need to use the included splitter cable. When connecting the microphone, you will need to make sure it's aligned properly and firmly clicked in, otherwise it will not work. Finally, the volume is partially controlled by the connected device and using the in-line control.♦ Comfort & Sound Quality ♦- Comfort:I'm really happy with the comfort level this headset offers. The ear-cups are nicely padded which provide a soft feel. They also fit nicely over my ears as you would expect from an over-ear headset.- Microphone Quality:The microphone quality is EXTREMELY good, very clear sound and I can't say anything bad thing about the microphone to be honest.- Audio Quality:To be quite frank, the audio quality is not that special at all, it's very average which is the only real let down. There definitely could have been more bass to make the audio sound a bit fuller. Don't get me wrong, the audio is clear, it's just a bit flat in my opinion.♦ Final Thoughts ♦If you're wanting one headset that's compatible with multiple devices that won't overly break the bank, than this may be a good option.✔ Pros:✓ Versatile with multiple devices.✓ Comfortable to wear.✓ Detachable microphone.✓ Very good microphone quality.✓ In-Line volume & mute controls.✖ Cons:✘ Average audio quality.

In the past I have some headphones that have caused my glasses to dig into the side of my head. With the Sound BlasterX H3 that's not the case. The cushions on the earcups fit snuggly over your ears, making these an extremely comfortable pair of headphones to wear, especially over a long period of time.As a gaming headset they do the job extremely well (especially for the price). Clear and crisp, with a strong bass. I tested these on the PS4 whilst playing Alien: Isolation. These headphones are fantastic at blocking out sounds so help you feel really immersed in whatever your playing. The mic is detachable (just plug it into the jack underneath one of the earmuffs),so if you don't want to use this headset to talk to anyone you don't have to (there's even a switch on the volume control attached to the cord to turn off the mic). However, if you do choose to use the mic you will find that your voice comes through clearly. As mentioned before, there's a handy volume control on the cable, making it easy to adjust the sound. The cord for the headset is long and braded for extra durability. There are drivers you can download on your PC to change the output of the sound if you wish. Not sure how well this works as I have yet to do this. For the price this is a fantastic headset to own. I don't just use them for gaming, I've also plugged it into my iPod and they work just as well. The headset fold down, meaning their perfect to just slot into a bag if on the move. With their great sound quality, portability and just fantastic price, this is a perfect headset to consider.

It's been a long time since I've needed something like this; those 10-hour World of Warcraft sessions are a thing of the past for me. So, instead, I used these for watching Netflix for around 5 hours. The positives include definitely include comfort.During those 5 hours, I didn't feel like my ears or head ached and that's good. Everything has a limit though and you get what you pay for. For that reason, I'd suggest trying them out (and sending them back if need be) if you intend on using them for 10 or 12 hours at a time.I tested the microphone briefly and it seemed fine, but I don't really use that functionality. It can be removed, though, which is a big bonus for me.The inline volume control is another nice bonus.Personally, I prefer wireless headphones, but if you want good audio and extended use, wired is usually the way to go.That they're foldable (and thus, portable) is a nice bonus, too. Not every OEM thinks to design their headphones and headsets for portability and I appreciate that. For me, these are pretty good, but not perfect. That said, virtually no product is.As they're foldable, it would have been nice to see a cheap carry case included. That's the only real negative to me and I'd give them 4.5 stars if I could. 4 seems fair, though.

If you want wireless (either for comfort or you are playing on an Xbox and TV some feet away) you will be looking elsewhere. However, if you are at a PC and a lead distracts you it is possibly a boring game. This lightweight set of cans don’t try to be a big statement piece but neither do they feel cheap. They are ‘get on with the job’ headphones with typically decent Soundblaster audio quality (Soundblaster have been around for nearly thirty years!) and depth of field – the speakers are about 4cm across. There is a good margin of adjustment to the headband and nicely padded earmuffs. Neatly foldable with detachable microphone means they don’t use up too much drawer space when not in use and judging from the gauge of plastic (the matt plastic has a quality feel)they will take knocks. There are some lovely designer statement headphones out there but there is a diminishing return as you go further up the scale and at this price point the phones are delivering high on performance for maybe a third of the cost of some of the flashier gear. A nicely understated piece of kit that meets expectations and neither are they too bulky in profile. Sounds good to me.

My manager, at work told me that her son has gone through quite a few gaming headphones as he has a tendency to sit on them! I thought he would be an ideal person to help with a review of these super headphones and here are his comments.StructureThe headphones are light and very comfortable and an additional bonus is they do not give you an indentation (I wish!) in your hair after a long period of use. (Headband Hair!)In all they are a very comfortable fit.SoundNot completely soundproof, and this can interfere with the gaming experience. I was disappointed with the microphone quality; this made it difficult for others to hear and understand me.OverallI would recommend them for personal use, although they are not the best headphones to communicate in online games with friends. With many thanks to Jo for putting them through their paces, and to Amazon Vine, as always.

This Creative Sound BlasterX H3 gaming headset performs really well at an affordable price. The sound they produce is loud and clear and I was also told that I was clearer than I'd ever been to others as well, so that's a thumbs up for the microphone, too. Pretty comfortable to wear for long periods and they fold up into a fairly compact package so easier to carry around then most similar sets if you need to.They certainly perform better than some more expensive headsets I've tried so they're good value, for the price of these it's hard to go wrong, definitely not worth passing over for a more expensive set if you're looking for a gaming headset.

I've been using these alongside another brand that is more cheaply priced. Both have been used exclusively on my PS4, both are wired and both slightly uncomfortable after prolonged use.Audio quality is good to excellent while the microphone is acceptable. Setup is a breeze and these headphones are stylish without being garish, which a lot of PC hardware can be.Overall, for the price, they're adequate but for less money you'll get similar quality audio/microphone/style. Recommended.
