I wrote a detailed review of my Corsair Crystal 570X RGB case which came with three SP120 RGB fans and all the wiring and controllers installed. All I had to do was build my PC around it. The Crystal case is an ideal platform for LED fans that are as colourful and controllable as these because they are fully on view. Theoretically I could have just added the three fans that came in this LL120 kit to my existing case but that would have been a waste of the quite expensive Corsair Lighting Mode Pro controller that comes supplied with this kit, added to which I would then have a case with six LED fans blasting away inside and even though they are PWM controlled I doubt whether I would be able to keep the noise down to an acceptable level.Like all my PC projects this left me in a dilemma.Start yet another completely new PC build just so I can use this LL120 fan kit? The issue being that you really want to see the light display, and my main work PC has all metal panels so it's impossible to see inside. Added to which it has a water cooled radiator, and although I realise this has two replaceable 120mm fans it's not something I want to tamper with for fear of voiding its warranty. So my son came to the rescue with his PC Specialist PC which he had recently bought a new case for that has a glass side panel. The ideal candidate for these LED fans. This is where the fun started and I got my friend who is an expert at building PCs to help me figure out the best route for the wiring for this kit. Unlike my Crystal case that had the LED fans pre-installed - and therefore no real decisions about wiring to be made - this kit demands planning to make sure your wires run neatly. Bear in mind you're illuminating your work with this kit so if you build a messy PC everyone will be able to see it. So we took my son's PC apart, did a bit of planning and rebuilt it, which is a good way of cleaning out all the nooks and crannies.I suppose if you're looking at a fan kit like this then you already expect to spend some time setting it up, but aside from the wiring you will also need to fiddle around in BIOS and with the Corsair Link software getting your fan speeds right. I don't claim to be an expert, so saying this to some people will be teaching granny to suck eggs. But on my main work PC I've spent a ton of money making it as quiet as possible, and that's not the market these LL120 fans are aimed at - you sacrifice some noise performance to get that beautiful LED light display. Finally, the light display itself - my son loves this on his PC, they're nice and bright.

This review is for the Corsair LL120 RGB LED PWM Fan Triple Pack (with lighting controller) at a cost of £89.99 (price at the time of this review). Each fan features 16 independent RGB LEDs, 12 of which are embedded within the frame and the remaining 4 in the inner fan blades. The three fans arrive well packaged and presented inside a colourful and attractive cardboard box. On the rear of the product box is a full list of technical specifications. This also lists everything included inside the box.The box contains the following:3 x Corsair LL120 RGB PMW Fans1 x RGB Lighting Hub1 x Corsair Lighting Node Pro12 x Mounting Screws2 x Mounting Strips for Lighting Node ProUser manualThese fans appear to be extremely well made, the blades are created from translucent plastic with a slight flexibility. Each fan has nine blades in all. The rear of the fan is made with four holding arms to make sure that the centre of the fan remains steady. At each corner of the fans there is a rubber pad which helps to reduce any vibration that might be happen once the fans are installed against your computer case, radiator or other parts. The Corsair LL120 fans are easy to install, you simply screw it in. It fits any standard PC case with four screw hole.In use (using the lighting controller), these fans are really quiet on the low to medium speed settings which is probably the settings that would suit most people … if you set them to the higher speed settings then the fans do make a fair bit of noise. It is worth noting that the lighting controller can be stuck to the side of your PC case (using the mounting strips provided) when not in use.The main reason for buying these fans in my opinion would be for the fantastic light show produced from them … and in this area these fans are the real deal. The LED lights are very bright and using the controller to operate them, can cycle through various combinations of colours and you are also able to control the speed the fans cycle through the colours. My son has a gaming PC (which he built himself) housed in a translucent case, he installed these fans over the weekend and is absolutely thrilled with them. He plays a lot of high spec games such as Assassins Creed, Modern Warfare, Battle Field and also some fantasy games. Since he has installed these fans he plays these games with his bedroom lights off and loves the effect of the colours that emanate from his PC case onto and around his room.

These are great looking fans, but i have to give them 4 stars for a couple of reasons, 1. i had to do alot of messing around with them to get them working properly, updating firmware, downgrading firmware, and 2. the halo is only one sided so if you got a case like mine the rear of the fans looks out of place, i also ended up with 1 faulty fan but that happens with all electric products, Amazon as good as always sent me out a replacement straight away.the lighting is amazing, 1 on its own sure it looks great but if you put 6 together it looks breathtaking, with the Corsair Link software you can sync them together to make great effects, Rainbow, Rainbow wave, Colour Shift, Colour Pulse, Colour Wave,Static, Visor, Marquee, Blink, Sequential (channel Effect), Arc, Heartbeat, Pong (it mimics the old pong cant, battle a ball from one fan through all the fans then back again) Temperature (can sink it to turn a different colour to match temperature of your hardware)you have 2 wires from this, a Corsairs own RGB header and a normal PWM fan header, You get two controllers with this triple pack, a "Lighting node pro" and a "Fan LED controller" which plugs into the lighting node pro, how ever the fan controller only controls the LGB of the fans and not the fans itself so you will still ned to plug them into a PWN slot of proper fan controller.**Lighting node pro**The lighting node pro (same one that comes with the LED strips) plugs into the usb 2.0 slot on your motherboard, and also needs a sata power cable to power it**Fan controller**The fan controller just need a Sata power lead, this does not need the USB 2.0 slot as it plugs straight into the Lighting Node ProDo they work with Aura? NoDo they work with NZXT? NoDo the work with Mystic Light? Noas of this post date it only works on Corsair Link (im using Corsair Link 4)Feel free to leave a Comment and ill be happy to try and answer any questions you may have

If you are serious about your computer you probably already have the fan, along with the power supply, at the top of your priority list for getting quality components. Getting a fan to move air powerfully without making much noise is a difficult engineering challenge and worth spending a lot on.£100 on. This one does a reasonable job but a lot of what you are paying for is the pretty lighting. If you just want good fans, there are better options. These are quite powerful and quite silent but they get loud when revved up and when silent the airflow is too weak for a powerful machine.Because the lighting is an important feature, and you can't control it properly without the lighting controller,I don't see any point buying it without the controller. I don't take off a star for that because it is clear from the listing that the controller is an important accessory. One thing puzzles me. I have one of the top end corsair tower cases and it is entirely opaque. You would think the case and fan teams would talk to each other and release products that go well together. Finally it is disappointing that a company of Corsair's quality is posting fake reviews (rating D on fakespot - 51% of reviews suspected fake -for this product).

The LED effect on these fans is obviously the headline attraction here, but it should be mentioned that they are very high quality and effective fans as well. With a speed control that allows you to control throughput and noise- although they really aren’t very loud, even at the loudest fastest point you can set them to- they’re far more than just a pimp-my-PC novelty item.Though of course, the main reason people will buy these is the sheer sci-fi-disco joy of them. There’s nothing subtle about them. Solid colours is my preference for long term use, and the spectrum-shifting effects are fun at first but I don’t imagine many people will leave them cycling for very long times unless their lifeis just one uninterrupted sugar rush.I’m reviewing the triple pack with lighting controller and that’s the full all-in-one set, exactly what I needed for my system, although some other reviewers have systems that needed more- but depending on your set-up, you can mix-and-match by buying the first pack and then expanding as necessary.Come for the novelty, stay for the quiet effectiveness.

So the fans themselves are amazing. They work flawlessly, They are super quiet and the rgb is stunning. What I really don't like is how they sell these. So you have to buy the Pack of 3 to actually get the RGB hub and the Lighting Pro or whatever, but what they don't tell you and what I didn't even find from pre-researching is that each fan has its own individual fan connector for the motherboard to actually spin. And I'm guessing for many people like me they don't have 6 4-pin fan connectors on their motherboard so you need to buy splitters and stuff. The thing is, even with many splitters you need to be careful not to overload them and you can't control the fan speeds so corsair is gracious enough to provide a solution to all of this!.... For £50 Extra... So buy these if you know you will be able to facilitate them on your motherboard or if you are prepared to pay an additional £50 for the "Commander Pro" (I just call it a crappy piece of plastic but whatever) otherwise stay away

A quick rundown of what i loved and any difficulties these overall great fans provided:Pros: 1.Exceptional cooling, case is 10°C cooler with these added.2. RGB lighting looks fantastic3. Fits easily in even my relatively small case without hitting the RAM or cpu power cable.(Minor) Cons: 1. The 2 nodes took a little it of figuring out, but were simple once all the parts fell together.2. Not advertised as needing 3/4 pin fan headers when you definitely need them to power the fans, as well as a Usb 2.0 header3. You need to use a SATA power connector to power the 2 nodes, also unmentioned in guide.4. Fans can be tricky to screw in due to very tight plastic hole that isn’t threaded.Just takes a bit of a push.Overall: Really great performance, they add colour and cooling at a reasonable price for the aesthetic. 10/10 will be buying again when i upgrade my case.

I bought three of these fans, two for the front of my case as intake fans, a rear exhaust fan and a 120mm triple pack to fit to a radiator. First of all, the price. These are expensive! For 3 x 140mm and 3 x 120mm it cost me a small fortune. Having said this, that is the only negative i have. They look great, they perform well and they aren't too noisy at full speed. I have them hooked up to a fan controller, and run them 24/7 around 80%. The customisation of the lighting is great, via the icue software and they really look make your PC look special. Worth noting, these don't come with any accessories like the Corsair Lighting Node Pro, which you need in order to use these fans. For that, you need to buy a triple pack of 120mm or a double pack in the 140mm.

I have recently bought 4 Corsair LL120s to complement my Corsair 280X and, I must say, this looks absolutely superb! I'm very impressed with the performance of these fans!I have 3 attached on radiators, and 1 on chassis, and they definitely give my PC excellent air flow.I have to add that these fans are also PWM, and not DC controlled ones, so it uses the full 4-pin fan slot.It is rather dear, in my opinion, going around £20 a pop, but whenever this product becomes on sale, I suggest you go grab yourself one!Note: You would need a Corsair Lightning Node Pro kit to have the RGB function via iCue. Without it, your fans are simply normal fans.

After spending an hour installing, I finally got to power on the system. At first I thought all was looking good but the Lighting node pro did not show up in iCue. Then after checking the USB connection two of the fan lights went off and started to flicker. After doing research on the corsair forum I found that there is an issue with installing firmware. Although I had not upgraded the firmware yet. I followed the instructions to reset the Lighting node pro, delete the firmware and add it Manually. Then it all came to life and worked as it should. Total installation time came to 2 hours due to the issue with the firmware.

Purchased 3 pack with node and it was very straight forward to install although watching some videos helped while waiting for the delivery so i knew what to expect. Maybe if i hadnt things would have took more time to work out. Looks awesome and actually helped with temperatures slightly too even though i had good cooling anyway but wanted the RGB look. Lots of cables to deal with but with good cable management its not too bad once setup and complete. Replaced 3 out of 5 fans but will buy other two soon as i was very happy with what i bought. Price i think is fair as you get what you pay for i guess :)

I have owned the majority of the different types of RGB Corsair fans and the ll series are definitely the most visually appealing and are definitely the brightest they kick out a lot more light than any other of the fans and have the outer RGB ring around the fan which further improves the appearance they also very quiet and have anti-vibration pads in the corner to improve sound transfer the only real downside to these fans is the cost at current pricing £75 for a pack of 3 is quite steep but I can understand why they cost that much compared to the other fans

31.12.2017

As expected with Corsair, these RGB LED fans are simply stunning! The effects of the colours are brilliant! They are very bright to behold and will illuminate even the darkest corners of your computer case, at the same I wouldn't recommend sitting too close to you computer tower as they will strain your eyes after a while. The fans themselves have adjustable speed with the controller however they have good flow and low noise regardless of what speed you run them at. You can build a very cool system with these and they are worth every penny.

28.2.2020

Great fans, built quality is high as with all corsair products. As for the RGB LEDs, the variations you can create are almost endless. There's one downside which is the need of having the commander pro or lighting node which are not that cheap especially the first one which works as a controlling hub for any compatible corsair product. So, remember that buying the fans alone won't let you to benefit from all of its features which makes the purchase a bit pointless in the first place.

14.12.2019

I'm probably a bit biased but I think these are great, the fans that came on my case were really loud and had no speed control, I've ripped them out and put these on the front and put a noctua on the exhaust, it's so quiet now it's ridiculous (although previously my PC sounded like it was going to take off). They look really nice as well, a lot of lighting options, requires some cable management to keep the PC looking tidy but no issue. Definitely recommend.
