This was bought for a new system build that was lacking a rear exhaust fan. I'm running an AMD 6300 Processor which doesn't come with that great of a heatsink cooler, and so whilst my system didn't appear to be suffering any performance detriments in the few days I had it running without a rear fan, the closest stick of RAM and the motherboard connector at the back were getting noticeably hot as a result of the hot CPU air being pushed around the case and not really going anywhere. I was getting idle temperatures of around 50°C on the CPU and 45°C on the Motherboard. (GPU and Hard Drives were largely unaffected due to the GPU being an XFX DD card so excellent built-in cooling and the Hard Drive being closest to the front intake fan)After installing this fan,my CPU now runs at 35°C or less at idle, barely scraping above 55°C under the load I've tried it with over the past week. The cables on this item come with a built-in splitter. So I plugged this fan straight into the CPU fan header, and daisy-chained my CPU fan onto this. I had actually purchased a splitter separately not realising this, which may be something to bear in mind for anyone else using it for a similar purpose to mine.I've also installed this fan with my own rubber screws harvested from an old computer. I've no idea how noisy this thing would be without them, but I can honestly say that with them I'm yet to hear a peep from this fan even under load. Not an ounce of disappointment from this product for me as of yet. Would gladly buy another as a side-panel intake but the temperature improvements from just one extra fan have meant I don't look to be needing it for a good while.

I bought this for my 6 year old Coolermaster Wave PC case, which is currently fitted out with a Pentium quad core but has been getting quite loud lately. Cleaned all of my fans out with my vacuum's brush attachment (inc graphics card and CPU) and used this to replace one at the rear with a noisy bearing. Given that its one of five other fans that weren't replaced, I can't be specific about its noise levels / cooling ability. However I can say that it fitted, came with the smaller three pin connector so I could plug it directly into my motherboard, and my PC is now overall much quieter and cooler. The one thing of use here is it comes with the smaller three pin connector so it can plug directly into your motherboard instead of plugging to the power supply like some, which means your system can adjust its speed as required.I can't think why they felt this little nugget wasn't important enough for their product description.Oh and buy it fom Amazon themselves because I tried several of the other sellers and they ALL TRIED TO OVERCHARGE ME FOR THE STATED POSTAGE.

I have to say that this is an excellent fan. It's quiet & pushes a lot of air through. It's also good looking & comes fitted with rubber mounts between the fan cage & the main casing.Although it moves my exhaust air in a very impressive way, I have not found a way to turn it into an input fan. I bought 2 of these because they sounded so good, thinking that I could use 1 for the exhaust air & the other either on the side of my case, or at the front to cool the bank of hard drives I have fitted. After playing with it, looking for reviews & options on various sites, Nowhere does anyone say that the fan can be reversed to draw air into the system, due to the fan blades being mounted on the cage (as opposed to the main body). If I had known, I would only have bought 1 of these. If anyone can correct me on this point & maybe show me how it can be used to input cold air, I could use the 1 which now sits in my 'spares' box in the wardrobe.I have given 5 stars because, despite the above problem, it is still an excellent EXHAUST fan.

I needed a small lightweight fan for my computer case that I could fit on an arm so I could place it over components on the motherboard that were too hot.The Arctic F8 80mm fan really fulfilled its function. I connected the fan to a fan controller so I could control the spin rate but even at its highest RPM the noise is very minimal and barely noticeable in my case (Fractal Define R4). Fitting was a breeze and the airflow rate is fantastic even at low RPM. The price point is great too for a small fan and would recommend this to anyone needing a smaller fan in their case. The fan has a square sealed frame with a 3 pin fan cable approximately 30cm. I do have a minor issue with the fan and it's the bare fan cable,no sleeving at all to hide the red, yellow and black wires from the fan. This makes cable management difficult as they are difficult to hide. Overall a good fan.PROSSmall, good airflow, quiet and cheapCONSNo sleeving on the fan cable

F8 PRO PWM PST 80mm:These fans are cheap but the design - the cage holding the fan off the fan base - needs care, i.e. don't go holding it by the cage when installing it - also make sure all the attached wires are clear of the fan before switching on.With no problems they work extremely very well! One point however, if you buy two of these with the intention of fitting side by side on the case, note that cage overhangs the base - this can cause enough deformation of the fan position to result in extreme clipping noise. discovered this the hard way, so only one fan operation atm. They are uni-directional, i.e. push air out of the case, and I most definitely WON'T fit one to the outside a case - I value my fingers more that a £4 fan.

Solid performance for such a cheap fan. With a PWM port set to minimum these things really do spin slowly making them almost silent. Obviously the airflow is fairly low at these speeds but its still respectable. When the system heats up and starts to spin-up the cooling fans, the noise is a fairly low pitched hum, making it a lot more bearable that other fans I've tried that click or whine.I have a load of much more expensive fans from companies like Noctua (amongst others) and although these are not as good overall, bang for buck these things are brilliant. If you are looking to improve the cooling in your PC without breaking the bank, this is the fan for you.

This is a decent quality fan. I chose this for its PWM function. Going through my quiet PC building stage I wanted to be able to slow the speed on a load of fans at the same time. With this model you can daisy chain them together to the main CPU fan. This allow the whole system to either slow down if cool, or ramp up the speed if the temperatures rise. And, it does exactly this. I had this one plus a smaller unit of the same brand all linked up. They are pretty silent on low and move decent amounts of air when on tap. They look good and you can tell they are designed well with decent quality parts. The price is also a winner. No complaints here!

I wanted a quiet and efficient fan to replace the fan on a noisy GPU cooler and after reading reviews and considering the price, this one looked like a winner. This fan puts out a lot of airflow due to it's 9 blade design, perfect for my needs. I modified it to use on a Zalman VF-900 GPU cooler and with a fan controller set to the lowest voltage the fan is completely silent whilst still putting out enough airflow to keep my graphics card cooler than the stock cooler. After using this fan I had no hesitation in replacing one of my Lian-Li 120mm case fans with the 120mm version of this.

Very cheap, very quiet, very good.I had to replace an aerocool fan in my brothers pc as his stopped working due to the bearings. Replaced it with this as he only wanted something cheap which worked. Firstly it massively reduced the noise from the case as this is a very quiet fan. The old fan was fixed at something around 1500rpm due to how it had been attached to power, meaning the noise was loud regardless of activity. The Arctic fan is very quiet at no load and my brother has barely noticed any increase in noise when gaming or otherwise. It comes supplied with normal screws.

The fans are very quiet and appear to push/pull a lot of air. They're also very simple to install, being packaged with 4 screws. They have pretty long power cables, so you can fit them pretty much anywhere on a midi or perhaps even full case. The cables are also made in such a way that you can stack up to 4 or 5 fans onto the same 4-pin connector on the mobo. The fans also have an optional connector which allows you to manually vary fan speed via the bios.A good, cheap cooling option that I would recommend to anyone looking to ensure better airflow.

I uprated my wife's computer with new motherboard, memory and processor and added a 2TB Hard Drive. Almost everything but the case. I should have bought a new case too because the computer started to overheat. The fans (I bought two) seemed like a cheap alternative and they worked by pulling more air through the case. The fans were simplicity itself to fit and connect and they are quite quiet. The computer ran for almost an hour, unfortunately, the 12GB of DDR3 memory still got too hot so I had to buy memory fans too. Should have bought a new case.

I really like this fan. it comes with a PWM connector so it can be controlled by the motherboard and 4 fan screws. It feels well made and has very little packaging. The item fits standard 8cm fan screw holes in the case.I purchased 2 of these to go into the top of a modified budget case along with a PWM splitter and 2 x 8cm fan grills. After doing the modifications and starting the PC up I was really impressed by how much air these fans kick out with very little noise! I think in future I will stick with this brand. Recommended!

Its nice to see that this size of fan is still being made, even though most case makers prefer 120mm. As with the other fans in my rig i chose Artic Cooling because of the great price point and the blade design which seems to balance cfm and noise really well. The thing is, because these have smaller diameter blades, they do spin faster and hence make a whine, which is a problem for my HAF XB as its pretty much next to my head and is open air.Can you really complain though at this price for a little whine and no air noise?

I bought these to match my Artic air cooler and they look fantastic sat directly behind them drawinig in air. They really do draw in air as well, lots of it and very cold as well. There is a downside to this though and that is that they are definitely NOT silent and are in factr quite loud ! I am sat at least 10 feet away from my PC with the side on and I can easily hear them. However, due to them being dirt cheap and very effective, no temps are above 40 now, I will forgive them for their noise.

8.7.2016

This is a good cheap case fan. I installed one of these on a build I was doing for a friend. I have my own doubts about the usefulness of small fans, but case size dictated 80mm as being the only size.Have to say though that the PC temp is cooler with the fan running and when it is running, it is silent. Fitting is slightly unusual in that it will only go on one way (that I could work out - no instructions or manual). On the basis that most other fans can be push or pull, four stars.
