Fairly Loud, but keeps it very cool!I bought this to cool my computer down a little more. There was no specific thing to cool, I just wanted the PC in general cooler.I was surprised to find my CPU at 6C, which it used to sit at when i got the PC a year ago. Because of age and/or dust, the processor now runs fairly slower and has dust underneath the heatsink fan, and i can't really get it off (or can't be bothered, one of the two....) But to my surprise, the fan actually cooled the processor a lot and games now run without the occasional lag. This happened mostly on Saints Row, which is strange considering Battlefield 3 runs without it, compared to Saints Row 2. The fan removed the lag entirely from Saints Row,which makes playing the new Gat Out of Hell a blast! The lag I used to get was running in slow motion occasionally, and when the CPU usage restored itself to 50-60%, the game would suddenly run in "fast motion" to catch up.Overall, the fan is great, and runs very well. It sounds like a jet engine starting up and shutting down, the classic pitch drop, but it's not too loud to put up with. I'd rather trade the lag for a little more sound. If your computer really doesn't need the cooling that drastically, don't go for the fan as the noise probably won't be worth the benefits for you. There again though, if the PC needs cooling that drastically, i wouldn't recommend the fan as if it was that necessary, you should probably invest in more expensive cooling options. For a cheap, effective fan though for dropping general temperatures quite a bit, this fan works great. Finally, for those that want to know about the price, the £6.98 i paid for it is well worth it. The fan works as great, if not greater, than some of the fans for nearly £20! According to Amazon, the RRP for this fan is £40.04, and you save £33.06 (83%). This fan doesn't seem anywhere near worth that £40, making me question if that's true, but if it is, then great, the sale makes the fan worth what it should be.

Bought 2 of these to connect to 2 computers within a computer desk (recently purchased to tidy up my study).Housing the computers in a desk really does raise the temperature a heck of a lot - I would suggest from outside to inside by about 20'C if door of desk remains closed. Looking at the temperatures generated then I bought some Coolmaster CPU Fans (see my other reviews) plus two of these fans that I wanted to house at the back of the computer desk cabinet to draw out warm air. They come with with two really useful items of wire craft. The first is a long cable you connect to your motherboard as perhaps a system fan or PSU fan connection so it comes on when the computer activates, the other addition in the box is a link cable (4 pin hard drive type) so you can link your cable to one of the HD cable runs from your power supply and lead the cable out of the computer case. So far so good but with the addition of an extension cable (available for £2.00 elsewhere on Amazon (and again see my reviews on this)) you can connect your fan with a really long cable to allow pull out push in of the computer unit easily.I would suggest covering the fan entry and exit paths with a safety grill (sorry see my other reviews on this elsewhere) to protect fingers from penetrating the fan spinning. Remember spinning at 2,000 rpm you do not want a finger poking into the fan. The fan comes with neon blue lights when on so perhaps an added 'feel me' factor you don't want!In a nutshell then, these fans do everything I want of them and more, they look good, feel good and do the job I want good too...and all for just a few quid really...PERFECT!!!Buy.....with confidence.Colin.

Okay, so starting off. These fans are truly of amazing quality, great job Cooler master! As I am a PC gamer myself good cooling is key to a good experience, so naturally I needed some good fans. And I needed that on a budget, these fans perform better than I expected for this price range. The rpm is locked at 2000 , however noise is not a massive issue like in many other low price products. The speed can be controlled through bios if connected to the motherboard - great for extremely silent operation. Speaking of silence, 19 dB-A is quite quiet. The fan comes with a 3 pin to 4 pin Molex adapter (useful for extra fans running at stock speed straight from psu on lower end motherboards) and 4 screws. The LEDs look amazing when the light bends through the dark tinted fins, stylish!Pros:Low noiseGreat build qualityGreat lookslighting is not too bright, could be a con - I prefer dimmer fansVery versatile - water cooling radiators etc.Cons:RPM is factory locked at 2000rpm and can get loud unless changed in biosAt the price range of £8-£15 the addition of RGB LEDs or an RGB model would be fantastic

Just what I wanted - an affordable cooling solution for my desktop PC that also looked good and matched the colour scheme of my case, black and red. First impressions show that the LED lighting is maybe slightly dim (although it may just be the ambient lighting cancelling some of it out) and the cable is actually quite short, but with a bit of fiddling it can be worked out. Unlike some other cheap, budget fans I've seen, the plastic of the casing is well finished and sturdy. My only dig and the only reason for 4 stars is the noise generated by the fan in operation. As there's no automatic speed variation, it makes a fair bit of noise at full speed. However, in my mind, this is easily shadowed by the immense amount of air it can shift for the price of it. The noise can easily be reduced quite significantly with an anti-vibration gasket, which is essentially a rubber layer between the fan and the case (or whatever it mounts on).Overall a great fan and I would definitely consider this product again if the one I have fails or even to replace other fans. It's a shame they don't do 92mm LED fans!

This is a very good fan, it really does blow. - However, I must note, while it shifts a lot of air there isn't much static pressure so filters or radiators will restrict its performance. I have a few of these and quality does seem to differ. Some are much quieter than others but, having said this, all are very quiet for the amount of air that they move, especially at low speeds. It is also worth noting that this product is not switchable like the Bitfenix or Nzxt equivalent fans but it does appear to shift more air.Regarding the look of the fan, personally I think it looks awesome on its own or with transparent panels, however with a filter or any type of dark slats and grills then the effect gets 'lost'.- Although the blue LEDs are very bright, the smoke effect blades and black casing does not create a blue 'glow' as with some other products (e.g. Akasa Blue LED quiet fan). - However, obviously 'looks' are subjective and you may have a different view to this.

My case was becoming quite hot inside and I needed a front fan to improve air flow. I read reviews and plumped for this 12cm fan.The delivery was fast and the packaging was probably adequate. I fitted the fan using the four supplied screws and the three-pin fitting matched the motherboard perfectly. I turned on the computer and the fan worked and was powerful, certainly. On the Cooler Master web site the fan is billed as silent, but I can reveal that it is not: When running it emits a low pitched whine that - after a while - goes right through your head. Since the rest of my fans are quiet, I will be buying a replacement - and not a Cooler Master.Update: I attached the fan further from the case grille using spacers and its whine is all but gone,so there's a tip! I also now use a a speed-reducing cable and it's completely silent, all that's audible is the air passing through it.

The fan feels solidly built and looks good, although its a shame about the LEDs, they could have been a little brighter, however this is a minor issue. The fan itself is far better than the previous (stock) case fan, delivering better temps (much higher CFM than the stock fan). It is a little noisy running at max RPM(connected to psu via molex), but its far from unbearable, however at a later date, I may replace with coolermaster jetflo fans, running off motherboard PWM header if the noise levels increase with age. I will likely however replace the 3 pin female-molex adapter, as it feels very cheap, and the connections were not clamped particularly well (fixable on a temporary basis with a pair of needle nose pliers and a small screwdriver for leverage). As for the seller (skydigital)item was well packaged, and arrived the next day with first class postage, so no complaints there,

This fan is built very well, you can clearly tell by it's design that a lot of thought went into it.Good Points-Insane amount of airflow due to the design of the blades.-Can be plugged directly into motherboard or a 4 PIN molex.Bad points-When the fan is used for air intake, it is VERY LOUD because the blades are very close to the honeycomb mesh on your case (I imagine the sound could be reduced by using washers to create a stand off between the fan and the back of the case). However when used for air out-take it is very quiet.-The LED's are not that bright.-You have to thread your own holes into the fan using the screws provided. (As simple as that sounds,it took me around 20 minutes to mount the fan).Good fan overall.

these are the best led fans i have used in a long time. 70cfm at 1800rpm and 20dba. many have complained about the noise from these fans but as i have found out the noise depends on your wether your using as an intake or exhaust fan. if used as exhaust the fan is bearly audiable. but if used as intake for side window for instance then your going to hear the fan more as the air is being sucked through the vent/mesh. the bigger the holes on the mesh the less noise you hear from the fan and the more you increase airflow to. my side vent made these fans reach 36dba at full speed. pretty loud for a fan but as soon as i modded my side window i reduced the niose to 24dba not that loud at all.

The fan came with 4 installation screws and a 3 pin to 4 pin adapter that goes into PSU supply socket - NOT MOTHERBOARD fan socket. If plugged straight into the PSU supply line, it would run at max speed, making a noise which is quite audible in a silent room. However I realised this could be fitted in the 4 pin motherboard socket for front and rear fans on my Intel motherboard....and that made it 5 times quieter though it doesn’t run controlled by the system still. Perhaps the board voltage/amperage is modest as compared to direct PSU line.LED effect is good... n I got a quiet pc for just a few bucks...Worth the price totally...Amazon - perfect as usual in price and delivery!

pushes out lots of cool air at a really high pace you can instantly feel it as soon as you turn it on. i have a founders edition gtx1080 in a small form factor node 202, the temps used to go into the low 80's and high 90's with that damn card. i installed this fan, placed it right under the card to blow air on it and now my temps stay in the low 60's, the highest it occasionlly gets to is 73 degrees but mostly just 65 to 67 with regular gaming.down side however is that this sucker is a bit loud and i dont know if there is a way to control the speed to quiet it down. i wear headphones when gaming however and it does not bother me.it cools very well and i recommend it.

Brilliant product for the price, fully deserves the 5 stars as long as it lasts for long which im sure it will. Not fussed about the LEDs but they are a nice addition, although the fan actually dropped my tempreture of the whole system very significantly, my system is now a lot quieter and cooler. My processor fan doesnt have to work overtime and make a horrible noise due to this brilliant addition. The fan fitted nicely in my Galaxy 3 Tower case and is being powered by one of the many sets of cables you get with the VS550 80 plus power supply.Brilliant product for such a low price

i already had 3 of theses fans already and so i got another one as i wasn't happy with the stock fans (i have Zalman Z11 case) there not the quietest fans around but they make up for it with the air they move, if u want a quiet rig theses are not for you. the blue LED's rather good they are not distracting they ad just the right affect to ya case where its not over baring. I have 5 fans total installed and 4 of them are theses cooler masters 5 are prob over kill but its that peace of mind knowing that my components are keeped cool very happy with theses

I bought this product for the rear of my HAF 922 to suck out rising hot air. I have heard complaints from other reviewers that this fan is extremely noisy. My HAF 922 has 3 200mm fans fitted besides this one and of course the hefty CPU fan to cool my 8 core AMD CPU. I can say with all honesty, that this is the most quiet computer I have EVER built; and I've built a few in my time. I can just hear a quiet purr from where I sit (about 3 feet from the unit). I would highly recommend this fan, hence the 5 stars awarded.

30.12.2013

To start, all those complaining about loud noise try plugging the fans 3 pin connector directly into the motherboard instead of using the molex connections, this will allow you to alter the speed of the fan using either the bios or a program like MSI Afterburner. Now as for the fan itself it performs incredibly well when installed and has very little noise and bumped down my temps at least 3-5 degrees under load which is quite good. anyway its good value for money.
