I contacted the Canon helpdesk because of an 'error' message on my previous (inkjet) printer. The young man there told me that the problem was one which could only be tackled by a mechanic and would therefore cost +/- £50 or so to fix. He then went on to ask me about what I actually used the printer for and subsequently recommended buying a laser printer from the Canon outlet site on ebay which sells recon and display models with a 2 year guarantee as standard. I got a £200 'all-in-one' machine for just £49, and I'm very pleased with it. Would recommend.
