This is labelled as a beginners camera, and for good reason. I bought this for my Wife who wants to get in to photography. However, don't be fooled that it takes lower quality shots. Speaking as an owner of a 7D, 5D Mk iii and a M6 Mk ii, It is fantastic with the right lens and in good hands (and the supplied kit lens is very sharp). People say the hot shoe with lack of support for third party flashes is the biggest lacking feature, but I think the lack of a custom (C1) setting is. This feature would allow someone to at least be able to go back to a custom set of settings if they find themselves in a state where the camera does not operate as they expect.

I upgraded from my point a shoot camera 2 weeks ago and decided for the Canon 250d. I wanted a camera that could shoot 4k and when I saw the reviews of this camera I said to me. I have to get this one one day. For the past 2 weeks I could do stuff that I wouldn't be able to do with my point a shoot like timelapses etc.

Just a beginner. Wanted to learn and be able to take good photos and video.Studied reviews of this camera and just what I required starting out.Really pleased with the product and all it’s accessories.Willing to learn how to use it properly which will take some time. Would recommend this camera.

Bought to upgrade eos 550d. Pleased with image quality generally and wifi/Bluetooth a big advantage. Expected better low light performance from new DIGIC processor but pics still seem to grain out at fairly moderate light levels. Change in flash shoe to block non canon compatibility also disappointing.

I agree with most of its youtube review. The missing pin from hotshoe is not a big deal for me. Great photos for premium beginners. However, once mirrorless became more practical and with decent available lenses I'll move to mirrorless one. Mirrorless is for the future, but future is not here yet!...

This is a fantastic camera. Intuitive to use many different modes for shooting every day stills and video.Very light and stable zoom lens.Time lapse is great fun.
