Canon EOS 2000D Body OnlyAlong with the Canon EOS 4000D, they term this a good ‘entry level’ camera for budding photographers who want to enter the DSLR age.My previous (non-digital) SLR was also a Canon, an EOS rebel, which served me very well, but I stopped using it because the rigmarole of buying film rolls and then having to sending them off to be developed without knowing if I’d even taken any good photos was becoming a chore, and expensive.I invested in a Canon digital PowerShot A560 as backup and, although simple, it proved to be a very neat little gizmo. So I’m happy with the Canon brand, and no, they ain’t paying me to write that!I opted for the 2000D over the 4000D because it has 24.1 megapixels as opposed to 18,and a larger LCD screen (3.0 as opposed to 2.7). Also, the lens mounting ring is metal, rather than plastic, so I figured it would be a wee more robust. A tad more expensive, admittedly, but not by a huge amount, and I figure it's worth paying the extra if you can afford it.I did a bit of checking first, though. I contacted Canon to see if the lenses I used with my non-digital Rebel (Canon EF 35-80mm 1:4-5.6 III and Canon EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 II) ) would work with this digital model. The good news is they do. So all I needed was the body. Result..!So far so good. However, a couple of tips to follow. The manual that comes with the camera (in 26 languages - so only 20 pages per language) is, frankly, a complete waste of a tree. I also found the Canon site a bit of a nightmare to navigate and not that helpful when I did chance upon what I was looking for, so I ended up hunting around for more user-friendly info.I found three great You Tube vids that cover all the topics a complete beginner or someone with only a rudimentary knowledge of photography will need to get started with this camera.1) Best Canon EOS 2000D | Rebel T7 Basic Settings video | How to set up your Canon #RebelT7This is a tutorial designed specifically for the 2000D by CameraWize Photography and covers the basic camera functions – from unboxing to explaining the various menus and settings.2) Canon T3/T5/T6 & 1100D/1200D/1300D Overview TutorialDo not let the title of the video put you off. The 2000D is, in effect, a replacement for the 1300D, so the camera controls are identical. What you get is a terrific 50 mins tutorial by Tony Northrup. The comments below the video speak for themselves.3) Connect your Canon EOS 1300D to your Android phone via Wi-FiAgain, it states it’s for the EOS 1300D, but the instructions also apply to the 2000D. This video explains very simply how to connect the camera via wifi not only to your smart phone but also to your tablet. (I have a Kindle Fire 8HD).Back to the camera kit. The box doesn’t include a cable to connect the camera to your computer to allow you to download images that way but the cables are only around a fiver, so they're not expensive. Fortunately for yours truly, I used the cable provided with my small PowerShot, which worked just fine.I’d also suggest you invest in a screen protector. They're only a couple of quid and so they won’t break the bank.Happy snapping…!

This is an excellent entry level DSLR camera and perfect for anyone wanting to take their first step into more creative photography. These days, phone cameras are capable of taking excellent photos, but they lack the more creative controls such as manual control over aperture and shutter speed. That's where a DSLR comes into its own. A camera such as this one allows you to learn the basics without having to spend a fortune, and as this is compatible with Canon fit lenses, is easy to add to as your skills and requirements change. The camera is really easy to use. Leave it in auto mode and its pretty much a point and shoot. One of the big advantages of a DSLR however is that when using the viewfinder, you are looking through the lens, so what you see is what you get. It's really easy to start experimenting with the manual controls. Manual control over the shutter speed for example allows you to slow the shutter to give a smooth flow with a waterfall for example.Another key advantage with a DSLR over a typical compact camera or phone camera is speed. Auto focus is fast and accurate, and you don't have any real lag like you do with a camera phone. This means you get the picture you want, especially when photographing wildlife. I've used this to photograph otters, deer and eagles in Scotland with very pleasing results. The camera comes with an image stabilised lens. This does what it says, and allows you to slow the shutter speed a little without adding any shake to the picture. Be aware however that the image stabilisation is on the lens and not the camera. If you do at a later date add a different lens, then unless that lens is also stabilised, then there is no stabilisation. Not a big point, but something to be aware of.Overall, I really like this camera. For most people wanting a really decent camera, this will do the job. It doesn't have all the features and speed of the really expensive models, but for most people, they simply don't need these. For example, this camera I believe will take 3 frames per second (fps). Paying more will get you an increase in fps, but consider whether you need this and whether the benefit is worth the cost. The downsides - DLSR cameras are larger than compacts, and it takes more thinking about when you take it out. It comes with a neck strap which is comfy but you know it's there. This is also relatively small for DSLR's and sometimes I felt it was a little small for my hands. Most of the time its fine. Best thing to do is to go and try before you buy.Overall, this takes great photos, is compatible with a huge range of lenses and isn't too expensive.

For a ‘technical’ review of this camera. Please see the other reviews as they seem to have covered everything.Personally, I chose this camera as an entry level DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) to explore the world of photography beyond a) my history of 35mm SLRs/and 6cm TLRs and b) the very handy and capable ‘pocket sized’ digital compact cameras. From reading many reviews, from many sources, I decided this camera would be my most cost-effective approach - by minimising my initial spend (especially when this camera/lens was on offer), allowing subsequent investment once and if, I enjoyed the DSLR experience.I wanted a reliable, time proven camera that would a) provide easy yet comprehensive automatic shooting (happy-snaps!)and b) a semi-pro level of manual control. This camera was my choice. The camera has many, many features and functions and I have a long way to go before I will be able to use them all.I would like to offer the following though:The camera is well designed and fits comfortably in the hands for right-handed use, the camera is also surprisingly light – much unlike the rather heavy cameras and lenses of my past! The supplied handbook is next to useless, it is very long, but that is because of the inclusion of pretty much every language you can name. Some have complained about the unavailability of a handbook, but if you go to the manufacturer’s website it is quite easy to navigate to/and download the handbook for free. It only took me a couple of minutes.Would I recommend this camera – Yes, I believe it is perfect for one’s initial exploration of the DSLR world.Be sure to order a memory card as one does not come with it. Personally, I think Canon could have provided a minimum sized card to help get started, but oh well.Similarly, there is no camera to PC cable. I chose a card reader to overcome this.I hope this helps, if you are considering purchase of this camera.

Impressed with this camera, which allows you to happy snap to your heart's content with the "intelligent auto" setting if you're not in the mood for effort, or to get a professional-grade result with a few seconds for setting up, using the many options provided or going for entirely manual control. It's a big camera, but is thoughtfully designed to make it easy to hold, and as a left-hander who struggles with camera controls I must say it's the easiest one to hold and operate the buttons on that I've ever used. Where it is let down sadly is by the Canon Connect software, which connects the camera for picture transfer via WiFi, but to Android or iOs devices only. One selling point for me was that the camera can take photos in both jpg and RAW format, RAW giving a higher quality picture that can be post-processed on a computer to enhance it or bring out detail. Unfortunately Android devices will not store RAW images sent over WiFi, and they are converted into jpgs. So, if you want to use RAW format and all the advantages it gives, you will need to spend extra to get a USB connector to attach the camera to your desktop or laptop. This seems a bit shortsighted on Canon's part, as I think that most people buying this type of camera would want to use RAW format, if only to try it out.

Bought this in July 2018 on prime day (bargain) and can truly say I love this camera as I have been using it for a while now. I'm a First timer as far as owning a DSLR goes, so I am still on a bit of a learning curve, but I am finding this camera quite easy to use and operate. As such I am really enjoying taking photos and learning some of the more 'advanced' features that I have never used before with my old point and shoot. The only limitation I have come across so far is the continuous shooting speed (as in how many photos you can take per second) is quite slow. Think it can only manage about 3 shots per second which is quite underwhelming. Still,I managed to get some great shots of my daughter playing football using this feature. The wifi makes it so easy to download photos to your phone or computer and also to take self portrait shots. My more experienced photographer friends keep saying I will soon want a more capable camera but at the moment I just don't understand why. You have to walk before you can run and I am still enjoying the walk!In summary, a great buy as I have had some great photo results so far and look forward to my photography skills developing with this camera. Who knows when I will outgrow it.....

First things first, my first mistake was not checking my basket, I bought two of these, second mistake well more of an issue, first set of cameras were left of my doorstep and were ultimately stolen and after numerous calls and chat messages they were replaced even though I said I only wanted one of them replaced but they still sent me two, I spoke to them again concerning this and they said don't worry keep the 2nd camera for free and I had to speak to 3 people to explain no it has been paid for..... NOT HAPPY... Finally after 4 cameras 2 stolen 2 finally delivered after taking a day go work and then having to return the extra camera I was finally happy as I had a camera I wanted. The camera overall is amazing for beginners and the interchangeable lenses are amazing, I have bought more lenses, Not from Amazon as Id worry I wouldn't get them. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CAMERA if you are a newbie photography fan. Also on a side not I walked past my neighbours today and they had an amazon delivery placed under there door mat, wouldn't have been bad if the box was small but the box was quite big so looked like the mat was levitating.

Just bought this camera today. Never owned a camera before this EOS 2000d, except for the disposables back in 1990's or my iPhone. I really regret not buying this before. It feels solid and well made. The buttons are not loose, and feel like a BMW or a German Engineered car...it is Japanese engineered that is also a high mark of quality. The companion app was easy to set up but what's annoying and I can't still get is how to set up my MacBook Pro (2017) to this camera. I downloaded a drive with 4 apps within it and it's so convoluted to use, that I just gave up. Now I'm looking for some sort of cable to use, since I have a MacBook Pro with USB Type C (USB-C) and this camera has USB ports.I really just want to plug and transfer, and I feel this is the only lacking feature. Canon really ought to focus on this. I guess I can buy a SD card reader for my MacBook Pro but why would I do that? Ah...just wish Canon created a simple laptop sharing app or at least provided FAQ page for users with Macs or Windows computers.

This Reflex is perfect for the people that are approaching the world of photography, it have all the functionality that you need to understand all the technique to become a ph, in the manual mode i find it very clever in every aspect , with the rotating gear you can select the shutter speed or change the setting and perhaps set the iso that go from 100 to 6400, with this camera i've buyed a 50mm canon 1.8 to have a nice blurred effect for the portraits that i want. It's a difficult lens cause it zoomes a lot, because of the size of the sensor that is a aps-c and has a crop factor of 1.6 so a 50 mm become an 80 and so wiht other lens, you can calculate it doing the mm times 1.6.This camera has all the modern technologies from the wifi to remote control with your smartphone.

I bought this a little over 6 months ago, but wanted to really experience it before giving a review.to start with, I love the camera, its easy to use, by a first timer, and not so complex compared to the impression I had before buying.it fits perfectly well on the tripod I bought randomly for the camera.Picture quality is tops with an auto focus function which was not as fast as I wanted, however its much faster than other cameras. come with a flip up flash, however, without the flash, this works well in low light as it auto adjust to the ambientlight. I will definitely buy again, but of course not the same, but. higher grade of this, though I highly recommend of this.

The basic EOS 2000D is light but feels solid enough, my only gripe is the noise when taking shots but that aside I am more than happy with it. My reference is the EOS 100D as used in school.Using the various Shutter and Aperture controls my photos look great which is what I hoped for.The battery life appears to go on forever but I've yet to do an all night photo shoot.Wearing glasses is no issue when looking through the viewfinder and using the adjuster wheel, this make life so much easier than looking at the back screen.Although the reviews I've read put it down due to using an older image processor as an amature and for the price I have no complaints in this area.

I was looking to buy an entry level DSLR and this one fits the bill, easy to use, light and versatile and I can finally do justice to the fantastic scenery up in the Lakes. I particularly like the metal lens mount rather than the plastic one on the 4000D which should be far more robust. The only problem is the manual which comes with the camera which is almost useless so I took the advice of other reviewers and bought The Canon 2000D / Rebel T7 user manual which gives you all of the info that should be in the manual which comes with the camera.

I wanted a camera that was not too expensive, but gave me a good quality introduction to the DSLR world...I’m still getting to grips with the various functions, but the pictures I have taken so far are of very good quality, being sharp and clear...More complicated than the standard ‘point and shoot’ cameras, but that was the point of me buying it, as I wanted something more ‘professional’ to learn with, but also something that would mean I would not have to upgrade (other than the lenses)...

I sold my 1100d as I wanted something with a little bit more. I am certainly a amateur and I love using this camera. In fact I tried getting back into photography but I wasn't doing enough with the 1100d. Since I've had this camera, being able to link it with my phone and upload it I've used to so much more. For a beginners camera I think this one is brilliant. I've even ordered the 55-250mm lens so I can get a bit more close up and the camera itself is a very reasonable price.

11.6.2019

Very good quality pictures and easy to setup and use. Although the instructions manual doesn't provide all the information needed there are enough reviews on YouTube to support any one in setting the camera up and using all the features provided. I originally bought the Eos 4000D but had to return it due to issues setting it up and the recording function did not seem to work. This camera also has a recording function.

The bag isn't the one in the photo but is bigger than the one shown (so I am told). The memory card is a make I have never heard of but seems to work fine. The camera, of course, is superb and I'm over the moon with it. Great picture quality, intuitive controls, feels sturdier than I expected. So, in a nutshell, buy the camera - you'll love it.
