The MFC-J5335DW is rapid when printing, and it's very useful to have the double-sided option and A3 facility, though we have not tested this yet. I feel that colour-print quality could be better (our old HPs beat it, and that's with non-genuine cartridges), though maybe some tweaking of the settings would help here. The software could be better - Brother has released two firmware updates since we bought it, and both times have involved full reinstallation of the software on the PCs as well, which feels inconvenient. In addition, if allowed to switch off (rather than sleep), then it now loses the connection to the wi-fi. Brother Help did try to resolve this but it seems they could not.Not a massive issue, as it means the printer is always ready, but does mean that it use more electricity than if it were switched off. The router could be partly to blame, as it is quite old, but there was no problem before the first firmware "update".Another minor niggle is that there is no status indicator on the printer when printing: it says "receiving data" when it might be handier to detail "page/job x of xx". The ink monitor was unhelpful with the supplied cartridges, going from sufficient to too low very quickly. Time will tell with the XL version of the cartidges, which are much better value (if initially expensive) than the non-XL ones. So far we have used genuine ink. It is handy that it uses separate colour cartridges rather than one tri-colour.I think it would probably be a 5-star review if it weren't for the irritating software upgrades: the functions offered by this printer are excellent for the price (plus there was a cashback promotion), mono print is quick and good, colour print is okay, and the device itself has been reliable so far.

Excellent product. Prints really well in A4 and A3 and starts up quick. Brother have made set up fool proof but it does take a while so be patient as it is extra efficient. Scans in A4 only but can do multiple single sided scans to computer and to usb stick. It is heavier than average printer but contains all these extra facilities in a frame that is not too big for a home office not much bigger the A4 printer. I got it with choice of £50 cash back or 3 years Guarantee from Brother - brilliant!

Awesome printer. Our last printer did such a terrible job on printing. The colours was never bright enough the quality of black and white was low. And it was SLOW and get paper stuck all the time. This printer does an excellent job of giving vibrant colours, no paper jams thus far and all black & white printing is clear w/high quality. It's also very quick, spits out my scores of music in no time. After years of dealing with a piece of junk, it's a luxury to have a printer that works so well.

Our 4yo HP OfficeJet printer started to jam and make horrendous graunching noises, so I began looking for a replacement. I used Which as well as a number of online review sites, but always knew that my options would be limited as I wanted to buy from Argos using Nectar points. After much consideration and many comparisons, I plumped for this printer - noting that one review mentioned less than startling print performance... So far, it has been utterly brilliant: a great choice of MFP printer!

First impression - compared to my last Brother A3 printer, the J5335 seems twice the size and certainly much heavier at 21kg according to the box.Setting up as a wifi printer was a doddle.Software installed on the PC, a few clicks and we're off.The quality of A3 photos was important so I immediately undertook a test. Using the software provided, the machine burst into life and within minutes a richly coloured A3 photograph appeared. Quality I never expected. Excellent! Fully recommend!

Very pleased with this addition to our new business.Higher spec than we need currently but everything is there ready for our progression. It is compact neat well designed and sturdy. It was easy to install with a quick set up guide. Connection to WIFI and computer was equally simple.Printing and scanning is quick and quiet with good quality prints. Also prints from tablet and phone. Paper capacity good for multi printouts and can print both sides. Ideal for home office and business use.

I bought to replace an older version that had done many years service, but stopped printing in blue/cyan.Very quick and easy to set-up, good quality printing and scanning. Like my old one, multi-scan options, photo prints, but with a larger paper tray for even more sheets.Smaller in size than old on, but still can cope with A3 printing.Scans to file on computer, or scan to print. I don't use fax function. Sits quietly in standby and wakes automatically when you send a file to print.

You can print A3 but not copy/scan, surprising as this machine is just as bulky as the MFC-J6520DW I replaced which did. Beware, no support for Windows XP, I have to print to file and then transfer to my W10 laptop to print everything, thankfully, It will scan to my XP machine, odd? For some reason It cannot read/print some older jpg files from sticks plugged into usb port. The CC4 printing software is not very clever, if you want to print some photo sizes you will need 3rd party software.

Bought this for the A3 printing ability for daughter to complete art assignment. This is a big printer and needs quite bit of space. Very easy to set up With clear instructions and installation software. Printing quality is excellent with vibrant colours. Connects easily to wifi and all devices can print, scan and copy from it. Doesn't seem to use much ink and benefits from using separate ink colours. Double sided printing adds to economy. Haven't used fax facility. Overall very pleased.

Includes A3 but not a specific tray for it, you must use the back slot for this, so only one sheet at a time, it’s very quick, sometimes too quick that it spits the paper out.Cartridges are on the expensive side, but if they last as long as they claim without drying it will be worth, but only time will tell as I’ve not had it for long.Setting up was easy, on a Windows 10 unit, prints fine via AirPrint from an iPhone. Loved the touchscreen, great addition. Well done brother.

Only had the printer for a few weeks however so far so good. Took about 30 mins to set up, not too difficult but a bit long winded.I have been printing using the economic ink settings, and have you to purchase the full size ink cartridge (ones that come with the printer are smaller), but seems to work ok. Print is good enough for what I need, obviously not quite laser printer quality that you may get out of a more expensive laser printer but sufficient for small office / home use.

It's a good printer, I think value for money..Photocopying, scanning is easy. similar to what you would get in an office. wireless function makes it easy to connect with most laptops and desktops.. usb for memory stick is great to scan and save directly on to it.. You need 4 ink cartridges.. they are independent. Easy to replace.. All 4 costs about £50 but you can get it cheaper.. look around.. this is for the original cartridges.. B/W aprx £12 to £15.. I would recommend it..

Needed printer that printed on A3 for my daughter who is doing a graphic design degree bought another model originally but returned after poor print quality and purchased this printer instead. Seems to be working fine so far and print quality is good. Not used much myself but my daughter seems happy with it. Was easy to set up but we need to figure out printing on photo paper as if you put in tray it prints part on gloss paper and halve on plain. Just need to read instructions.

I was in need of a new all in one printer of better quality and lower running costs than previousones from Epson etc. After reading the reviews i ordered one by fast track delivery. It took a while to set up due to my main server still on windows 7, with other computers on windows 8 and 10.The print speed and quality is very good, the scanner is a bit limiting as it misses some text that is close to the edge.A recommended printer if you don't need full A4 page scanning.

So pleased I bought this very sturdy 'proper' printer!PROS: easy setup; ADF; automatic double sided printing; excellent print quality even for photos on plain paper; no cables trailing everywhere if using wi-fi; no visible paper tray as paper is fed from internal tray; A3 and A4 copying; easy to use screen with facility to store shortcuts for most-used functions.CONS: only that someone not very tall, like me, may find it difficult to use the manual feed tray at the rear!
