An excellent printer. I initially had concerns about the print quality - there were small streaks on solid areas. However cleaning the chroma wire on each of the cartridges using the built in plastic slider cleared this up. As usual the printer is set-up to lie to you about toner usage (hence 4 stars instead of 5). It's WAY too conservative and will prompt you to replace the cartridges almost immediately. I responded by buying in non-brother cartridges in preparation and am now about 2 months of printing after it initially started warning me. Last week it flat-out refused to print unless I replaced the cartridges. Fortunately this model has an awesome feature where you can reset the page count on the toners and so re-enable printing.= Warning, this might destroy your printer / house, don't come crying to me. =You simply open the toner bay, press the X on the numeric keyboard (not lit, you need to establish first where this is while in fax mode) and then select which toner counts you'd like to reset. Printer manufacturers (the guys with a vested interest in you buying toner, using a bit then sending most of it back for recycling - only to have it resold to you) do warn you to not let the toner run out because "bad things will happen". Having reviewed how laser printers work, I'm at a total loss as to how this could happen short of a self destruct mode. But like I say - I'm no expert don't complain to me if clearing the print counts kills your printer.I have successfully printed from windows 7 / 8 and a Galaxy Tab. Used it for a little scanning + copying. All works fine.

I bought this to replace an inkjet printer, I don't print too often by the rest of the family does and so far after a few months its doing really well. Looking at the stats on the web interface we've printed off about 200 pages, mostly colour. There have been no errors printing. We are a multi-faith household, having Linux, Mac and Windows laptops. I've managed to set them all up without too much of a hitch, Windows being the most fiddly but easily doable by a normal computer users. For linux I had to download a .deb for the driver, CUPS was a piece of cake from there. For the Mac just install the dmg, and on windows there's and exe installer, I can't even remember what the hitch was, perhaps the IP resolution.I use the printer wired to the network but did try it in wifi mode, both worked easily enough, the wifi can be setup manually or using WPS. You don't seem to be able to have wifi and ethernet set up at the same time, not sure why.The scanning function I use a lot, most the utility bills get dropped in the hopper and then scanned, I then flip the pages and scan the other side and have a script to merge them back into a single PDF (I then shred the docs and compost them - but I digress). The scan can be done to a number of outputs, USB, SMB/CIFS and so forth. I setup the scans to get dropped on to a windows share (CIFS) on my NAS, you can have a number of named configurations so you don't have to enter the network configuration over and over.I've not used the fax because it 2017 and why would you?

I researched a few colour lasers around the £200-£300 mark and all had their pros and cons. This one stood out as it had doubled printing, only single sided auto feed scanning though you need the next model up if that bothers you. I don't scan that much so it made no difference to me. Also single pass colour printing makes the speed for colour quicker than others. So I'm more than happy with this printer, it is just being used as a home printer. I attached it wired to my network and everything works great. My son prints and scans direct to his Nexus 7 android tablet via the house WiFi. It does a good job of colour photos, nowhere near the photo quality of inkjet but no laser seems to do good photo printing, hence don't expect your new laser printer to fully replace inkjet, I keep my inkjet and a stock of photo paper for just photo printing. But after constantly replacing ink jet cartridges of which I'm sure more dried out than run out I'm very pleased with this printer.Cons if any - it is quite a heavy printer so don't expect to put it on a shelf, unless you have a big deep and strong shelf. Mine sits on a table and make a note of the dimensions as this is a largish size for a home printer.

I've always bought HP Inkjet printers, but the last few seemed to have very short lifespans. And it seemed that every time I used them I had to replace one of the colour ink cartridges which would have miraculously dried out through lack of use.I figured the solution was to buy a Laserjet because the toner is dry, so it it doesn't matter how often you print, it's always going to be sitting there waiting for you. And I felt that I had given HP enough of my money.I read every review I could find and settled on the Brother 9330 - some small way up from the cheapest in their range. As far as I'm concerned it's almost perfect. It is fast, not too noisy (doesn't make the robots having sex noise that our old HP Inkjet made when starting up),the paper holder takes 250 sheets I rarely have to refill it. When we're not using it, it just sits there silently using a tiny couple of Watts. If it has a fault it's that with thin paper I'm left with indented lines running the length of the paper where it has been fed through the rollers. I haven't knocked off any stars in my rating though - it's not bad enough to warrant that.

Overall, I am pleased with this printer/scanner but it does have two annoying issues.Firstly, it is chronically slow, a 20 page document with some colour and printed on both sides can take an eternity to print compared to other colour lasers I've owned in the past. I contacted Brother as I thought increasing the intermal memory would help but you can't add memory or replace it with a larger one.Secondly, I print a lot of double-sided documents, typically 15 - 20 pages. As the printer ejects the page after the second page printing, it invariably pushes out other pages from the collection tray so you end up with your document all over the office floor which you then have to collate.I use 90 gsm Navigator paper so I don't think it is down to paper quality, it seems to be a design fault. That said, the print quality is very good as are the other features.

I've had an old MFC-9970 for several years as my main business premises printer. Despite going through countless spare consumables, it has generally been a very good workhorse and churned out God knows how many thousands of pages. When it came to buying another printer for home, I wanted something a little smaller and lighter, so I got this and I have to say it is excellent. It is smaller than the 9970 but every bit as good, and you could say better as it is more modern, with better functionality. It connects without fuss to all of our computers and, importantly for school work, to my daughter's iPhone and school Apple tablet. For the price you won't get anything better than this, and the non-Brother compatible laser cartridges are very cheap to buy. Having looked into the other major printer manufacturers, that's more than I can say about them!

Seriously the best buy of the year.... Connects instantly to wifi, laptops, phones etc, and our LAN, very intuitive.. solid quality compared to the HP alternatives in its class... it just works. Was concerned about ink life and cost... bought two extra sets of unbranded toner cartridges... and have not need them yet... have done hundreds of pages and no sign of toner finishing... had to reset toner setting on device (easy)... this is brilliant...Scanning to file, PC or NAS or anything on the network... just works... this is so intuitive even my pet cat is printing his recent cat scans (true story, it's in colour)

I am new to the world of lazer printing, and in particular, to the concept of duplex colour lazer printing. When this printer arrived if frightened the life out of me, cos I was used to dealing with lilghtweight ink jet printers. This printer is beautifully engineered,, appears to be bulit to last,, and has the easiest printer installetion programme that I have ever experienced. I am a novice,, so others may disagree, but the process of buying and using this printer has been very user friendly, in my opinion. I have yet to assess the running costs, but the performance and prints are excellent!

I luckily bought this printer from Amazon for £250. At this price this is an amazing piece of kit. Fax, colour/BW copier, scanner, double sided prints - colour and BW, easily and cheaply refillable toner cartridges.Fantastic full colour prints. A wealth of internet connected cloud features. DropBox, Google Drive, Google Cloud Print. Fast. A easy to use colour touch screen (resistive not capacitive). I wish they made an A3 version. I would buy that too. This machine is fantastic value at twice the price, at £250, it's a no-brainer.

If anyone is considering buying a laser printer, well look no further. This was easy to install and is very easy to use. It is really quick to print and is quiet compared to ink jet. The cartridges are easy to install and this product is well worth the outlay. For any small business it is an absolute boon. I am extremely pleased with the product and would saythat value for money it is just that. Mine is used daily for long periods and so far so good. Top Drawer Brother.

Amazing Printer. I purchased this as i hate relying on cheaper printers and other pieces of equipment to do what i consider simple and every day tasks like scanning, copying etc.Very quick to set up at home. No issues linking to home network. I have used all the functions including two sided prining which is so useful. If you download the brother app you can print from mobiles too.Love this! Hope i never have to buy another printer for years to come.

Wireless and cloud printing works a treat; print output is fast. Shame that the double-sided feature doesn't work when using Google cloud print (a problem with Google, I believe).

Replaced similar brother printer. Set up so easy on Mac, android and iPhone. Windows 10 took ag Les, but. Wireless printing is a doddle and am very happy with it.

Very happy with purchase, easy to set up to computer and linked to mobil phones. Working as a central printer for the entire household.
