I have owned a few different blood pressure monitors over the years but never a Braun branded one. It is made by a company called Kaz, which is part of a larger company called Helen of Troy and uses the Braun name under licence. This is something important to know when it comes to using the connected app (Healthy Heart) as all the agreements you are asked to accept do not mention Braun but the manufacturing companies. In the box, you get the monitor, a set of Duracell batteries, 2 cuffs (1 large and 1 small) and a case to hold them all. Getting the right cuff size is important and alongside the instruction book, there is also printed guides on each cuff. You are looking for one that when wrapped around your upper left arm (they are both left-arm cuffs), the index line is somewhere inside the range markings. Helpfully this printing is done so you can read it correctly when it is on your arm, so looks upside down when not.To take a reading, you select the person on the main unit and press the blue button twice (once to switch on and again to take the reading). The motor is reasonably quiet as it inflates the cuff but I have had totally silent ones when using top brand wrist readers in the past. It takes a short period of time to take the reading, during which time you can feel the pressure in your arm. It is not too bad but like all upper arm readers, I do find them uncomfortable when at the highest pressure (I find the same with the manual readings my doctor takes too). You can review your old readings on the display as well as getting an average reading, but I have found it much easier to use the Healthy Heart app to review readings.Pairing the display to the phone is easy as you press the two buttons to turn on Bluetooth pairing and then add through the Healthy Heart app. It worked first time for me and then also updated the date and time on the display to match my phone.I am not sure of the total accuracy of the unit. It is consistent if you always measure your blood pressure from the same place, sat in the same way and with your arm the same distance away from the body. I found it gave me readings about 5-10mmHg higher for the Systolic pressure (top) but the same as for diastolic pressure as my big brand wrist monitor does. My doctor is happy with the readings I get from my wrist monitor and believes them to be accurate. This may just be down to how I am taking the readings as I have never had much luck fitting upper arm cuffs and stopping them slipping down.I also found I could seriously influence the readings by having my arm tighter to my body, but as that is not how the doctor takes them, I believe those readings to be totally false (they were very high).I would recommend getting some reading from your doctor to give you a baseline (they will normally be slightly higher for many - something that is known as white coat syndrome) and then comparing with the readings from any monitor (not just this one), so you know what accuracy level you are reading to. My readings from the Braun ExactFit 5 match what my doctor gets when they try to take a single blood pressure reading from me.The Healthy Heart companion app is reasonable as it gets the readings from the monitor very quickly and allows you to see a quick overview of how your blood pressure is changing. It would be nice if it had synced with things like Google Fit so I could get a picture of total fitness/health in one place. The bag that comes with the monitor to store everything is designed to only take one cuff. With both in the bag, I have found that the display unit sits a bit high but the bag does zip up and stores everything neatly and securely.

ExactFit 5 Connect BUA6350 with 2 Cuff Sizes*Accompanying video shows a full measurement being taken from start to finish, to show how quick it is.*Impressively well made device as you'd expect from a company like Braun. There are two sets of cuffs supplied to suit the one that matches your requirements which is one of the biggest factors in ensuring an accurate reading. The cuffs are comfortable in use and the machine is relatively quick and quiet. It appears to be as accurate and comfortable as the top of the range 'Omron' brand. It's easy to use with a large easy to read display and connects easily to the Braun Bluetooth Apo called 'Healthy Heart'.▪︎ The Cons:It does have a function that alsomeasures the pulse and indicates if the pulse rate is irregular but this is quite sensitive and if you move your arm at all during the blood pressure measurement then the machine may indicate you have an irregular heart rhythm even when you don't and could cause unnecessary anxiety and raise blood pressure for the unwary! This is a slight issue as this is not a heart rhythm monitor but has it as a bit of an extra function. But it's not a well executed accurate analysis of the heart rhythm so caution is advised! The other minor thing is that there is no option to connect to an external power supply if you happen to run out of 3 x AA batteries (it's required power), but an initial set of Duracell batteries are supplied to get you started.▪︎ The Pros:Overall this is a well built device which is accurate and easy to use and allows you to keep a handy history of your home blood pressure measurements which you can then discuss at leisure with your GP or medical specialist by syncing your data to the App.▪︎ Why You Might Want It:Anyone who has had their blood pressure measured in a medical environment will know that the blood pressure reading is likely to be higher in the slightly stressed hospital environment as oppose to within the comfort of your own home. For this reason and to satisfy any concerns you may have in this current pandemic climate, especially if you are isolating yourself and potentially are worried about your health, it is worthwhile having a good blood pressure monitor.▪︎ The Extras:It has all the things you would expect from a good b.p. cuffed machine ie. memory function, setup for two separate users and average readings, the ability to sync your data onto the App. Once the batteries are removed, the device seems to retain the blood pressure data, although the date and time on the machine is wiped.. So backing up your data in the App could be your critical personal lifeline to keep an updated record of your history.4 starsI hope you found this useful.

This arrived in a glossy branded box with details and images on the outside, inside you get a multilingual instruction manual, the main pressure monitor unit, the universal cuff and four AA batteries. The manual has numbered diagrams on the first page linked for identification of the parts and functions; the manual is fairly good going through the setup and usage step by step.First impressions: this is a compact unit that sits on four small rubber feet with a good clear LED screen with the systolic, diastolic and pulse readings labelled to the right hand side of the screen so each reading is easily identifiable. The pressure monitor armband is secured with Velcro and has a metal loop bar that the strap feeds through; it has fitting instructions printed on the strap I thought was a good idea making fitting it correctly simple without having to refer to the manual. The batteries go in the bottom with a slip cover and can be fitted easily, the pressure hose just plugs into the side of the monitor.I take medication for high blood pressure so I do need to monitor it on a regular basis to ensure its being kept stable. After fitting the batteries I gave it a try out, fitting the armband is very easy just slipping your arm through the loop and tightening and securing with the Velcro, the instructions printed on the strap make this straight forward and it is very easy to fit yourself in a matter of seconds. I followed the instructions sitting on a chair having my feet flat on the floor not moving or talking, and pressed the power button, the reading appeared to be very accurate in line with my regular readings. The unit has two symbols on the front button separated with a line, one power and one with a heart symbol but they both appear to perform the same function as the second heart button does not seem to be referred to in the manual, as far as I can see although the button is a long giving the impression pressing either side of it performs a different function it does not.Overall this seems a simple, easy to use and effective device, I had reservations on how the batteries would last as it does not have a mains power option but it has been used over 30 times now and the batteries are still going strong. Fitting is very easy and I do like the fitting instructions being printed on the armband, having two symbols on the main button separated with a line makes it appear to have two different functions but pressing either side seems to perform the same function, I would have liked to have seen clarification of this in the manual, apart from that minor point I think this is a very well made and designed effective unit for monitoring your blood pressure.

Braun ExactFit 3 Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor for Home Use with 2 Cuff Sizes, BUA6150A new “upper arm” blood pressure monitor from Braun. The only point in having a blood pressure monitor at home is so you can check your own condition, at a time that suits you. For some people, this is essential - a life saver, others think they don't need one, perhaps they don't but it is more likely they don't know ! Usually by the time they find out it is sometimes too late. There is also no point in using a blood pressure monitor if it is not ACCURATE. If not accurate, it will give incorrect results on which you will probably act or not depending on what they say. This in my mind is worse than using one at all so it is reassuring to find that this one works and gives correct/accurate results. It is probably the most “attractive” of the monitors I have tried and used. A few months back I tried the Braun Wrist monitor which I found quick and easy to use, convenient as it had it's own wrist cuff and a novel display. However it gave inaccurate results and when I asked my GP she said wrist monitors were not worth using. The Braun BUA6150 comes with everything you will need, even the batteries needed (4 x AA). It even has two upper arm cuffs, one large for adults and a smaller one for younger family members and all contained in a handy carry pouch. The monitor is easy to set up, even if you are the type to ignore the instruction book however it is really necessary to fully understand what you are doing and what the results mean. There are only 9 pages to read (in English) and it makes such a difference so take the time. There are facilities to keep results on file for two users by switching between “User A and User B”. This protects readings over a period for two people and it is often the case that the period average is more important than an instant reading. The display is clear giving date and time, blood pressure both systolic and diastolic, and pulse. A large On/Off switch and a similar sized activation switch.Blood pressure readings can change within a minute or two so testing against my normal monitor (Omron ME6 which I knew was accurate having had it tested by my GP) was dependant in taking several readings using both monitors. I was a little sceptical however both monitors were well within acceptable limits – in fact almost the same.On the basis of this accuracy check, the value for money (two cuffs) and the attractive display, two year warranty, I would be happy to recommend this monitor.EVERY HOME SHOULD HAVE ONE.

With the recent 2nd lockdown I was unable go into my GP surgery to use their blood pressure machine. This caused an issue as I take medication for blood pressure and want to monitor it carefully. This product was my solution, and I guess this is my story. The item arrived earlier than expected and was packaged very well with no damage at all to the box. The monitor comes with two different sized cuffs that I think would fit any arm unless you're a hulk in which case larger cuffs can be purchased I believe from braun direct. There is a colour led screen that is bright and easy to read.Within minutes of unpacking the monitor it was squeezing my arm and taking my blood pressure as well as my pulse. It is tight but not as tight as others have reported and not as tight as the GP's machines. The machine is easy to use with its simple display, I downloaded the app, set up a profile and by the magic of Bluetooth my readings appeared on my phone. These can now be saved on my phone as well and sent go my GP via email to negate the need for so many appointments hopefully. The readings seem accurate, they are in line with my usual readings from the doctor so I'm happy with that side of things. I will say it'll be interesting taking my blood pressure at different times of the day to see what trends it goes through. The machine also has two profiles and a sixty memory for both I think if you don't want to send your readings to a phone. The app is great and shows a lot of information and allows you to set reminders for medication and blood pressure readings. The machine is so easy to use, just pop the cuff on, press one button and off it goes. Can't really get any easier that that can you?In short for the offer I got this machine at, and the performance it gives it really was a good buy. I cannot recommend it enough if you need to watch your blood pressure.Update. Apprx two weeks later.I have had to return this monitor, while I was haply with the results my father in law took ill. We took this blood pressure three times whilst on the phone to a GP and the results led to paramedics being called out. They took his readings with their monitor and it was all in 'normal(ish)' range. I asked for them to test me and I was showing quite high, while this monitor was showing slightly high. The paramedic tested herself with both machines and the home one was about 20% out all of the time. This led to paramedics wasting a trip and me passing 2 weeks of false readings to my gp which now has to be sorted out.

Given that heart disease is probably one of the biggest health risks we face (COVID-19 aside), information on blood pressure is probably one of the most important types of information we could have. As information on safe ranges of blood pressure have become more widely known, it has also become much easier to monitor your own blood pressure, only going to the doctor if there is a recognised problem. This blood pressure monitor is very easy to use, and doesn't come with any complicated, unnecessary functions. Broadly, it consists of the monitor, a large cuff (32-42cm) and a small cuff (22-32cm). The functions of the monitor are basically limited to the measuring of blood pressure, storing the results in the on board memory and providing an average blood pressure reading over time. For the memory and average blood pressure settings to work properly, the unit can only be used with a maximum of 2 users, as it only has 2 distinct memory banks. However, if you don't really care about the memory function, it can be used for as many people as you like. The cuff is very easy to connect to the monitor (it simply plugs in) and position on the upper, left arm. Once the cuff has been tightened on the upper, left arm, the power button on the monitor is pressured and your blood pressure is measured. On the monitor, the results will tell your you systolic and diastolic readings, along with your pulse. It also shows a green/yellow/amber/red scale to indicate where your blood pressure is in the "safe" range - fortunately mine was in green on this occasion. It is also possible to connect the monitor to a smartphone, using the Braun app however, this doesn't provide much more information than the monitor itself. Perhaps the most useful function is the calendar which shows the particular days (and times of day) when you have measured your blood pressure and where it falls in that green/yellow/amber/red scale mentioned earlier.Perhaps the only negative thing that I can say about the monitor is the size of the cuff, as even the large cuff wasn't strictly big enough for me, as I didn't fall within the stated range (clearly the circumference of my upper arm is greater than 42cm). I appreciate that I am on the large size (18 stone) but would still have expected a large/extra large cuff to have fitted on my upper arm. Having said that, it did still work, but perhaps it does need some care in ensuring that the cuff is a suitable size before you purchase.

This blood pressure monitor comes in a zipped bag so you can keep the arm cuff and the main unit together. It looks a bit complicated at first but isn't really. The thick instruction booklet turns out to be in about 30 languages so there are only a few pages to read.I put the included batteries straight in and set the time first (an annoying process so don't test your blood pressure straight after doing it...), intending to test my blood pressure later after figuring it all out. But it turned out all I had to do was velcro the cuff to my arm and press one button, so I gave it a go straightaway and it was dead easy. The machine is almost silent in operation. It squeezes your arm surprisingly tightly, like a boa constrictor. The process takes just a few seconds and you get various readings on the big clear LCD.If you know what you're talking about or watch Casualty a lot you may understand what all the numbers mean, but if you don't, you can just look at the simple pointer in the red/amber/green zone, which probably tells most people what they need to know. I was relieved to find my reading right in the middle of the green zone. I haven't had my BP taken for years.Braun suggests you take two readings a day – in the morning and the afternoon. The memory holds 40 readings and you can display an average over time or individual days. It can detect morning hypertension. This model also shows your heart rate and can detect an irregular beat. No problems there for me either, which is nice to know. The cuff is easy to attach, by the way, and has a helpful diagram on it to make sure it points the right way. Actually you get two cuffs in the box – the extra one is for larger arms. Bit of a waste really unless you have two people in your house who need both sizes. The main unit has a handy slot for the small paper 'quick guide' to all the readings.Overall I'm impressed with the quality of the kit and the simplicity of operation. Blood pressure is one of those things you have to monitor because you might not realise it's too high or low, yet it's incredibly important, especially as you get older. This machine can set your mind at rest (it's medically approved by all kinds or organisations according to the blurb) or give you a useful nudge to change your lifestyle or see your doctor.

My uncle who is a doctor verified the accuracy of this device for my use. My family has a history of high blood pressure and so are heavily dependent on blood pressure monitors to maintain a stable lifestyle. This BP monitor is both lightweight (portability is essential so it could be taken anywhere) and easy to use (big buttons that older members of the family can press comfortably). The screen is also big and the numbers display is clear so it can be read easily.Has a traffic light coding to visually show whether one’s reading is good or not. For the non-medics or non-techy this feature is really helpful, because if it’s anything but green, then monitoring is needed. One really useful thing about this BP Monitor is that it comes with two different sized cuffs – now this is great because it lets you cater one device for the entire family regardless of the width of their arms. Other monitors usually come with the small cuff, and you would have to buy the big one separately. This is not the case here, because you get both a small and big cuff. There is one more great feature with this monitor and that is the APP. The wealth of information that you get, the ability to record and save data and also share it is fantastic. You get charts to visualise the data, a calendar view to show you the day and month you got a certain reading and it saves so much data – so many readings you may never need to delete any again. The build quality is what you would expect from Braun. We tried so many of their products and they are always reliable and long lasting, and I expect nothing less of this BP monitor. It comes supplied with the batteries and ready to go.As for the accuracy of the readings – I compared the readings given by the Braun BP monitor to two other monitors belonging to my siblings made by Omron. The range of difference in the readings is almost non-existent (up to + or – 2) which is superb. I would highly recommend this monitor for keeping an eye on blood pressure.Comes with a storage/travel bag - which is really useful for carrying the entire kit around safely. If this review helped, please click on the ‘helpful’ button to let others know! Well I got this to review and happily took it as whilst I already use an Omron unit I pass these out to my family to keep an eye on things having had my father die suddenly due to cardiac arrest because of a heart problem that should have been noted.Primarily this does what other high end home use BPM's do. It reads and records accurately your blood pressure and is verified by the European Society for Hypertension. Never heard of it and assumed it was the EU headquarters in Brussels given my blood pressure every time Junkers pops up on the TV.....but apparently not. . You can also use the app which is free to download and use and works well to record and monitor your pressure. In use it is simple. You pick whichever armband fits you best and press start and everything is automatic after that. It will record 120 readings over two users and of course infinitely more on your phone or tablet through the app.You get to see in colours if you are green, yellow, amber or red which gives you a bit of a heads up to either sort out your problem or write a will and speak to the local Co-Op funeral directors depending upon your views...I like the colour coding because it is a quick and easy way to check yourself. The other reason for getting your own BPM is to actually get accurate readings. If. like me you suffer from 'white coat syndrome.' when you visit the quack you end up with blood pressure that's more like a Foster Wheeler boiler than a normal human being. And if you have to undergo medicals then this can be a problem for work. So I record my BP each day and keep a history to take with me to show that hopefully I'm still within the limits. Now, the biggie. Why buy this. No real reason over the market leader, Omron. I have both and they are each as accurate as the other. The Omron looks a bit slicker but this has a bigger easier to read screen. The Omron comes with one cuff that covers all my family but this comes with two so potentially can ensure a better fit over a more extreme range.Bottom line is that this is as good as it gets. If you like Braun then this will admirably suit you.

With the facility to store 40 readings for each of two users, this blood pressure monitor allows you to keep an eye on your measurements and take appropriate action where necessary.2 cuffs are provided to fit small/medium arms (22–32 cm ) Or large (32–42 cm) arm circumferences. A booklet provides details about how to fit the cuff correctly to your arm and then it is a simple matter to attach the blue hose to the monitor and start your first reading. The monitor takes four AA batteries, which are supplied. Once inserted, you set the year, month and day followed by the time and you are then ready to take your first reading. The blue button on the monitor starts proceedings and the cuff inflates.I found I had incorrectly fitted the cuff initially and I abandoned the first reading, re-adjusted and started again. The second reading worked correctly and, although I experienced some mild discomfort, this is no different to the experience at the GP surgery and, after gritting my teeth, the reading was completed. The display shows the results, which is saved for each user. I have no idea off the top of my head what a normal blood pressure reading should be so it is useful to have a colour-coded display with an arrow pointing to where your reading sits according to the WHO and the European hypertension Society guidelines, so you know whether you can sit back and relax with a cup of tea or need to dash along to see your GP. Despite my blood pressure historically being low, the monitor indicates it is currently falling within the normal range. The monitor provides an easy way to keep an eye on your blood pressure. I like the fact that everything is provided including an easy display to check that your reading is within the correct parameters without needing to refer to vast charts. Despite my false start, it is easy to use and becomes intuitive after a few uses and a supplied case ensures everything is kept together for each use.

This has to be one of the biggest blood pressure monitors I've seen. I think even the one at our doctors is smaller! It has what can only be described as a console, which reminds me of an early 80s business computer (commodore PET!?) albeit a lot smaller, but still almost comically large. You get TWO cuffs, one for what I can only describe as normal arms (like mine it seems) and another for what I can only describe as larger than normal arms. This is where you start to think "oh, this is a bit more professional isn't it?". It's important to use the right cuff, but almost no consumer monitors have more than one cuff!If you need to track your blood pressure then you can use the braun app to store it,this is transferred pretty easily over a bluetooth adhoc connection within the app (no explicit pairing required) and I found this worked fine. In terms of immediate results though, the unit gives a very clear readout in fairly large numbers, so anyone slightly hard of seeing will not need to squint to read the result. You also get the usual visual readout of whether you're being told off or not, from green to red. Notably there's only one green section, most I've used before have a lower and upper green - convention I guess, I never read much into it.I found measurement used a higher pressure than normal, I wouldn't say painful but definitely not comfortable. I don't know if this results in a more accurate reading or if it's just being intentionally mean.Overall though, it's ridiculously easy to use, and unlike some meters, I tried both arms and got consistent readings first time, I didn't have to do a "best of 3". So that's promising. And a relief, because I imagine your arms would get sore pretty fast if you had to do this three times!

Along with my wife, we've been using this monitor for a week now. It comes in a zippered carry case with a set of Duracell batteries and an instruction manual. It has the facility to retain the measurements of two people. For consistency we took our measurements at the same time of day in the early evening. Braun says to take two measurements a day, but if you're working or have a hectic schedule then settle for the one. It is recommended you rest for around 10 minutes before taking any measurements, and to take all measurements sat down. The monitor comes with two different sized cuffs (large and small) of which you strap one to your upper left arm. Ensure your arm is resting against your chest, near your heart when the reading is being done. The machine works exactly the same as the one you may have used in a doctors or hospital. Air is pumped into the cuff, you feel it tighten, and the unit eventually displays the results. There are also indicators on the readout to alert you to anything of concern such as high hyper tension, or an irregular heart beat. So, after a week all readings for both of us have been consistent and other than some mild hyper tension on my part being detected, nothing untoward has come to light. Braun also provide an app which you can record your readings, but it doesn't automatically record them via Bluetooth. On reflection however, I feel that I wouldn't be tempted to pay the high price for this monitor unless you need to keep a regular record of your blood pressure; I feel there are are just as able monitors available at far lower prices, The Exact Fit 1 and 3 being such models. The Exact Fit 5 is the Braun flagship monitor, but consider their other before you purchase.

I have been using the Braun Smart Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor for about a month now and absolutely love it. The monitor has become part of our daily regime to check blood pressure and monitor the evolving scores. The monitor come nicely packed and with a convenient storage bag. There is also a very comprehensive set of instruction in many languages. Once you have chosen which of the two sizes of cuffs is right for you it is easily push fitted to the monitor. The monitor then simply operates via push of the button. Within seconds you have blood pressure reading. It also give you an assessment of whether your reading is good or not.The pressure of the cuff feels appropriate as I can feel my pulse through it.The first great add on is the accompanying App. This is easy to install and pair with the device. Once you have done this then every time you use the monitor the reading is sent to your phone or tablet. You then have an ongoing record of how your blood pressure has changed over time. You could then take this to your doctor to show this evolution.Since Doctors will all agree that blood pressure recorded over time is so much better than a one off in the surgery, this has to be a great boon.Secondly, there is a button to tell the monitor whether you are user A or B. This means two people can use the monitor with their readings kept entirely separate on their own devices.I have no idea how accurate the monitor is but it feels really authentic. And for me the importance is to see the trend over time to ensure my blood pressure improves or stays the same.Love it!

This is a quality heart rate monitor from Braun. One that is also very simple to use, I'm pleased to say. I've included a video demonstrating all of the functions as well as some photos which I hope you find helpful. The main unit is a compact and one button affair with a lovely clear digital display. The armband is also well produced with good velcro and adjustability for putting over the arm. I like that the armband has been produced to stop it sliding fully open and then requiring rethreading. There is a piece of foam bar at the end to stop that happening. It is of course easier to put on if there are two of you to do it but you can manage on your own as well.Put the included four AA batteries into the main unit and plug the blue hose from the armband into it and you are good to go.Put over the arm, a couple of centimeters above the elbow and with the blue pipe running down your arm. Push the button and the armband will inflate, getting nice and tight before relaxing it's grip and producing the blood pressure reading. The machine has a memory for the last recorded reading which is helpful if monitoring over time. If you experience any discomfort whilst taking your pressure the unit has a emergency stop function where you press the main button and the machine immediately deflates. In the manual is a guide for what the reading means. This manual is accurately written but the text is quite small if you have aging eyes. This is my only real complaint. This is a great little unit, that isn't too noisy and I love the clear digital display.

A 5 star product so far in terms of accuracy and ease of reading. The monitor is extremely easy to use, the display is a good size and it’s colour coded so you know if your reading is normal or elevated. The monitor comes with 2 cuffs (which are suitable for arm sizes Small - XL), batteries, instructions and a storage bag. It can also connect to a smart phone via the healthy heart app and store 2 users readings in A and B settings. It gives you the option of seeing trends/patterns forming etc.The only thing you need to be aware of and what I think is a slight negative is the arm cuffs have a blue pipe that connects to the monitor, and I feel these are quite short in length.if you place the monitor on a table and move, turn or ever so slightly twist the monitor will fall! You really have to make sure you do not move at the point the cuff is connected to the monitor, so if it’s connected to the app…open the app first and place the phone nearby… you won’t have enough flexibility to reach.Obviously, you should be sat still when you take your reading and I’ve given it 5 stars as it’s a really good product, but I would imagine it would be a bigger consideration if you were a wheel chair user and couldn’t get close to a table/flat surface (it needs a longer length tube) or potentially if your larger in size and there’s a longer distance from your arm to whatever your resting the monitor on.I’ve used the monitor for my own personal use and on family members and it’s been accurate so far.
