I had a new boiler installed (Worcester Bosch 30i) with the EasyControl CT200 thermostat and 10 of these smart TRVs.The TRVs themselves look neat and are very unobtrusive when fitted on a dual rail radiator. They only stand out slightly when fitted to a single rail radiator. Once fitted, it can be difficult to view the temperature displayed on the screen (the display really should have been on the top), but after the initial setup these temperatures can be viewed in the EasyControl app on the smartphone.Configuration is designed to be fairly straightforward:Log in to the EasyControl appGo to 'Rooms' and create a new room (zone)Go to 'Devices'and add deviceScan the QR code in the battery compartmentChoose the room to assign the TRV toInsert the batteriesWait for the display to present '-|'Screw the TRV onto the valve by hand(Note several adaptors are provided if needed)Press the 'O' buttonNow the TRV should configure itselfThis can take several minutes and should display the chosen temperature once completed. (Default is 15.0).In operation, the motor is audible but not very loud. If you were watching tv, you would be able to hear it for maybe 5-10 seconds as it opens or closes. The chosen temperature can be set on the device with '+' and '-' buttons, but if using the EasyControl app this is not necessary. The EasyControl app allows the creation of heating plans so the heating can be set to start at different temperatures and times for different rooms. If the room feels cold you can easily switch from auto to manual at the touch of a button and choose the temperature you want. One useful feature is that the app displays the current temperatures of every zone, so if your house is losing heat, this can help to determine which rooms are cooling more quickly. In terms of efficiency, I haven't had it long enough to determine the impact, but it stands to reason that by heating only the rooms in use, it should be more efficient.A couple of words of caution:At least one radiator should be left without a TRV to act as a bypass. This means that in the event that there is still hot water in the boiler but the TRVs have all closed, the hot water can still flow away from the boiler to the radiator without the TRV (potentially preventing damage to the boiler). In my house I left the radiators in the downstairs and upstairs hall without TRVs. Note that any such radiators will always heat up when any other radiator requests heat from the boiler. If you have Myson branded valves (which the documentation states is supported without any adaptors), the configuration may not complete successfully. This is due to a slightly larger gap between the protrusion on the valve and the moving part in the Bosch TRV. To overcome this, you can balance a 5p coin on the valve protrusion, then carefully lower the TRV on top of it and screw into place without knocking the coin off. It's a bit of hassle to do but this bridges the gap and allows the TRV to configure. I had to do this for 7 out of 10 TRVsThe TRVs will occasionally open and close even though no heat is required. This is normal and is designed to prevent calcification in the valve (for example where a radiator may not request heat for a long time in warm weather). If fitting two TRVs in the same room, these should be setup to be separate rooms/zones in the app. For example I set up two in an open plan kitchen but in practice, when the room demanded heat only one of the radiators was heated. So I setup the second one as the dining area and used the same temperature settings as the kitchen area. Conclusion:All in all, it seems great once configured. The app could be more informative regarding how certain features work or why the TRV configuration can fail but once setup is complete it seems relatively easy to use.

Had the Bosch Easy Controller for a couple of years and love it. I was having issues in one of the bedrooms not getting warm due to the placement of the controller as that room was getting up to temperature before the bedroom and shutting off the boiler. As my plumber is doing emergency work only due to COVID I decided to get the WB smart TRVs. They have come down in price since I last looked. 7 rads are done eeek. Easy to fit and pair with the app. The main unit I have set the temperature really low so only the TRVs call for heat. Got them all in their own rooms in the app so I can monitor them to see when they are calling for heat and calibrate their temp with a thermometer placed in the room.Once I am happy I will look at combining them to get down on the number of program schedules. Didn't do two rads that are in drafty locations as I didn't want them kicking in all the time. I just moved the Bluetooth smart TRVs I had on to them so they will close down when required but not call for heat You have to leave a least one rad free flowing to protect the boiler (big towel rail in the bathroom). Only downside is I have confused the hell out of the wife as the wall controller if turned up will fire up the boiler but the TRVs could be closed if it's before their wake up time so the boiler will just be pushing water through the free flowing towel rail. Rather than confuse her with app I am just setting up groups in Alexa. "Set the house temprature to 22 degrees" turns on all the TRV. Set the bedroom temprature does just the ones in the bedrooms etc. I will deal with Alexa being off line when it happens lol. It's solved our problem but not cheap. Still I can off set it against a call out to move the stat which may only just create a problem in another room. Just need to keep my eye on the smart gas meter. I have noticed it's on more but is not running the boiler at such a high temperature. Daily gas useage seems around the same but I will know more when my provider sorts their app out so I can compare it with a couple of weeks ago. Will take an age to recoup the cost of the units if I ever will but it is giving us the right temperatures in the rooms.

I have Worcester Bosch boiler. As boiler is not using open communication protocol it can only be really smart (water control, heating modulation) if used with Bosch controller. So I decided to fork out for Bosch controller (£190) and install 5 smart valves with it (£41 each). Mind that wiring controller itself is a bit technical. Valves are very easy to install and connect. Overall I am very happy with purchase. I installed valves only on main radiators I want to control. Valves operate quietly. They do show preset temperature only. Through app I can see measured temperature but this one is typically higher than room temperature as valve is installed near radiator. That however does not stop the system to operate correctly (I believe system runs on temperature change / mass flow, when it notice that valve temperature drops fast it adds more heat increasing temporary the set point to keep room cold) it uses weather forecast to predict when more heat is required. I run the setting one degree up from what I like to achieve in the room. I installed a bit of radiator foil between radiators and valves (I am not sure if that does much). App is great. I can see and adjust temperature when I want. I wish Bosch would remove screen and buttons from valves to make them cheaper.

We bought 5 of these on Prime Day Deals to replace our manual valves. Originally when we had the boiler installed, we were quoted around £150 for two of these valves, so we passed. Then £37 each on Prime Day seemed great value. The first one to fit was a little tricky, figuring out the adaptors but once that was on, the other 4 took 5 mins each to fit. Our bathroom radiator is very snug to the wall, so the thermostat only just fit - something to consider for anyone who has the same. The valve is pretty deep.So far, so good in terms of functionality. We’ve been playing around with different schedules and settings for each room and the functionality seems pretty good. The noise it makes when setting the temperature is slightly annoying. I’m guessing it’s when the room hits the desired temperature, the valve is frequently adjusting to turn off the radiator and then when the temp drops a bit, it kicks back on again. Either way, this morning the valve was adjusting a lot while I lay in bed trying to ignore it. So I changed the temp to way lower, giving me some peace! ?It’s important to note that it mentions everywhere that you must have the Bosch Smart Home Controller to get these to work. This isn’t true if you have the Bosch Easy Controller like we do.

These are a brilliant product, but it might be overkill to install them all over the house. It depends on what you want.As a reminder, these work just like a normal thermostatic valve, with the following additional features:- the ability to set temperature digitally- the ability for the thermostat to turn on the boiler. The second point was the clincher for me, because the boiler controller (with built in thermostat) had not been installed in the coldest room in the house, which annoyingly is my lounge.I got three of these in a pack with a new controller (the Bosch EasyControl). In reality, I only needed one to solve the problem that I had - so I installed it in the lounge. If you want to do things like turn off heating in certain rooms (during the day for example),then buy more valves for those rooms. But if you want the coldest room in the house to be a little bit warmer, then you might find one is enough.Edited to add: These are a little noisy. I’d be cautious about putting these in a bedroom, particularly if the heating comes on before your alarm.

What a fabulous product. When I opened the box and saw a small amount of very basic instructions I ‘hmmmmm’d. But then it all fell into place. My old manual TRV literally unscrewed from the rad by hand, spinning the metal ring. Popped in the batteries that it comes with (I was chuffed with that! Little things) and it came on. Screwed it on to the rad then pressed the O button and it started whiring for a minute. I scanned the QR code within the app to add the device and it just worked. They’re going to save a lot of unneeded water heating in rooms that are hot enough.I have a curved rad whose valve is close to the wall, so I just turned it round a bit till it fitted. Then I used a separate thermometer and moved it away from the rad to get the true room temperature and adjusted the calibration setting within the app, 1 degree out coz of being so close to the rad.Now I can set different schedules for each room which is just fabulous.

I already had an EasyControl included with my new boiler. I installed these thermostats myself, dead easy scanning the code from my phone, they are almost silent, work perfectly. I now have a fully zoned heating system with each room easily programmed from my phone. I don't have time to waste manually changing all the radiator stats twice a day, it would never get done so I would be wasting gas. With this setup the boiler doesn't fire until at least one of the radiator stats demands heat. I use eneloop rechargeable batteries, they last ages. I do have one older radiator valve that the bosch thermostat is not happy with, so I use a much noisier Terrier i-temp on that one.

The Bosch smart TRV’s work well with the Worcester easy control allowing you to set temperatures for individual rooms at different times and even zone areas, for example if you have smart TRV’s on all radiators you can zone upstairs so that it can be a different temperature to downstairs or just do individual temperatures in individual rooms so it offers savings on gas. If you are having trouble getting these to connect ensure that you have the grey plastic pin adapter fitted to the pin on the radiator valve body, in some cases you may have to cut this down.

Bought these to add to my existing heating system as we added several radiators. Generally work flawlessly. Only negative about these is that they are quite noisy when operating. It's not noticeable during the day with all the other noises and sounds, but very apparent early in the morning. Nice integration with Alexa which can be controlled individually, or as a group. I e. 'Alexa set house to 20°' or 'Alexa set bathroom to 22°'. Battery life is also exceeding my expectations.

This Bosch thermostat is quite bulky so the clearance of the existing valve from the back wall is crucial. I managed to shoe-horn one in place in my dining room and having done so it works well but I can't read the display. I plan to buy more of these but in order to fit one to my kitchen radiator I will need to rejig the existing valve fitting.

bought 4 of these for my house and the smart home controller ( required) , very easy to setup, about 45 minutes to replace the normal valves. The hub took a time to update but after that no problems. Comprehensive control features in the app, timing periods etc. Gets my vote

First radiator would not calibrate, next one worked fine. Be aware, the trv is chunky and if your pipes are too close to the wall then you cannot attach the trv. I have now discovered that 3 of the 4 rads I wanted to use them on are not compatible just due to the shape.

13.6.2021

Bought 7, 4 work perfectly the other 3 repeatedly read “valve travel too long” . Still await an effective response from Bosch after 7 days.

7.1.2020

Was difficult to set up initially due to not being able to span check. Had to buy adapter and use a coin. Got there in the end.

20.3.2021

Bought as present at recipient's request. Bought when on offer but still good value at higher price.
