I had to move my thermostat from its original location on the wall, I didn't want to drill moe holes in my wall so thought this would be a good solution. As with the Nest thermostat itself this stand is very high quality. Everything from the packaging to the stand itself seems premium. The stand has a good weight to it which is important as you don't want the thermostat sliding around on the sideboard,This stand for the third generation is white rather than having a chrome finish on the front like the previous version, I assume this is because the Nest thermostat now comes in multiple colours and it is easier to create a single stand which will work with all colours.I think I would have preferred a chrome finish but it still looks very nice on the sideboard.Opening the package you find the stand, a couple of screws and the instructions in the box, installation is easy, you plug the original USB cable that came with the Nest thermostat into the back of the thermostat, you then use the two screws provided to secure the thermostat to the stand, that's it!Overall I am very impressed with the stand. I do think it is quite expensive for what it is though, I think £20 would be a more palettable price point.

The Nest Stand is a near essential purchase unless you either spend money (or time if you're handy) channelling in power to a wall mounted Nest Thermostat or have a cable dangling down the wall. The stand is an elegant solution, but perhaps pricey for what it is. This is an official Nest product - so that's where the inflated value comes in, £15 is just about okay, the £30 RRP is excessive. Due to the limited mounting options for the average consumer, it would have been nice for this to be included with the Nest Thermostat itself rather than a paid accessory. It's very solid, has an minimalist but elegant design and very much does what it's designed to do. Extra value could have been achieved by including an extra power cable, but alas that's not to be. There aren't many options out there for Nest stands so it's tough not to recommend it, I just feel this is closer to essential accessory rather than a luxury one so would have liked it included with the Nest Thermostat to begin with.In the box:StandInstructionsScrewsPros:Looks good.Very solid.Cons:Price.No additional power cable.

Bought the best to replace a wireless, non smart thermostat because my wife couldn't work it.I installed the nest on my Worcester 28i junior myself in about 1 hour after finding a how to video online. It was quite easy to install although I'm quite happy doing things like that. You will need some cable and to be comfortable with electrics. I recon a good electrician or heating engineer shouldn't take more than 1 hour to install one if it's a simple fit.Set up was pretty simple and it is now connected through our Google home app and can be controlled by voice on any of our 7 Nest speakers. It does take a few days to learn how you like the heat for it to auto schedule but it's got it about right for us and it's easy to say "OK Google, set the heat to 21 degrees" or what ever if it's colder than we want.Easy to adjust heat up or down on the thermostat manually also.

This is a great little stand for the nest which allows it to stand on any flat surface instead of being attached to the wall. You need to be aware that the Nest itself needs to be plugged in so although the stand gives you a larger degree of flexibility, there are some limits as to where you can place it (although the nest has a small internal battery allowing it to be moved from location to location, you are only gifted a few minutes in which to do this).Although the stand seems to be of a high quality (with a channel for the wire to go integrated withing the stand), for some reason my nest seems to want to fall out if not carefully moved. This isn't too much of a problem for me as most of my interactions with the nest is through my phone or my Amazon Echo; however, for those who want to change the temperature manually this may get quite annoying.

When my husband suggested we buy this product I was moaning saying ‘What a waste of money’ ‘Why do we need this product’ etc but I’ve been completed converted! I can turn the heating on from bed, or turn it off in an evening if I’ve forgotten from bed! I can heat the house when I’m out so it’s nice and warm for when I arrive. The only downside is my husband can control it too through his phone haha! It looks stylish, we’ve since had friends purchase it after seeing ours. I can’t comment on installation as our friend who is a plumber installed it for us, it didn’t take him too long though. If you’re thinking of getting one you won’t regret it, I was the sceptic and it’s definitely worth the money, although we got it on a prime deal so even better!

This Nest stand is good quality build, and comes with a cable. Beware other Nest Stands (I got one before getting this, and it was £40 and had no cable/plug, so I returned it and got this completely identical Stand for £30, with a plug and cable...... figure that one out.You don't need the stand if you are having the Nest "hardwired" into your living room (for example) wall. It's only if you will be leaving the thermostat off a wall.... Eg on your table, as it then needs a stand. The Nest needs a power cable too, so don't get one of the Stands out there that comes without a cable.... I you do, you will find that the average USB cable is too thick to fit snug under the stand (this cable providedis slimmer than normal and fits perfectly)

Installation took me about 2 hours as I had to figure out the existing wiring to replace the programmer. Works flawlessly and effortless. One thing to notice though, if you wire it for Hot Water, make sure you go to the settings on the actual thermostat and disable the antibacterial mode for the Hot Water, otherwise, you will find the boiler going on for no reason. That drove me crazy because I couldn't figure out why the boiler was on if I had the hot water set to OFF. Once you disable that setting it works as expected. The mobile app is a bit basic, it's the standard Nest app, but Google is working into integrating into Google Home.Works great with Google Assistant and my set of Google Home Minis. Can't complain.

First up, this is very steep for a chunk of injection moulded plastic. You have to use the backplate that came with the thermostat (screws to attach it to the stand are included) which was unexpected for the price, however it does come with a nice Nest branded USB brick and micro-USB cable. Also it's very nicely weighted, with a good grippy pad on the bottom, which means my rather pricey glass thermostat isn't at risk of being knocked over. Overall it's worth buying if you don't want to or can't stick your Nest to a wall, seems to have been getting better temperature readings sat on top of our hallway unit as well.Added bonus, stick Farsight in analogue clock mode and it looks like a rather posh desk clock!

Bought it last autumn and it just sat on my office drawer before I had the time to install it a week ago. Was really no pressure since I'd already had a functional wireless programmable thermostat made by Salus. Installation time for my Viessmann Vitodens 050 took less then 15 minutes, and I'm not a boiler pro. Just connect the Heatlink OpenTherm OT1 & 2 to your heater's OT +/-, screw in 2 110/220V wires to N/L connector, start the thermostat and you'r all set. I've also bought a stand for my nest, as I wanted to be able to quickly move it around the house, so no wall drilling was involved. Just brilliant appliance and gorgeous looks.

After have a new Bosch greenstar 24i boiler fitted I decided to have one of these to control the heating rather than doing it directly from the boiler. The thermostat plugs into the mains and runs off my homes wifi. May choose to have it hard wired into the boiler but I'm happy where it is (on my living room sideboard). The app for it is quite good too meaning I can control the heating and switch the boiler on or off, wherever I have an internet/wifi connection away from home. Great product. Just wished the 'History' section in the app could be made bigger as you can't pinch the screen to read some of the data.

While installing a new boiler and Nest system we suddenly realised that we didn't want the Nest on the wall but would like the ability to make it mobile so we could have it anywhere. This stand is perfect and the Nest just snaps into place and is held firmly due to the solid nature of the plastic. Now we are able to move the thermostat into the room we want to keep at the correct temperature.Yes it's a lot of money for a stand but it really does make the thermostat mobile and means we are heating rooms much more efficiently now.

Great product, really enjoying having a easy to use timer with remote access. Great for when you go out and forget to turn off heating or are coming home early so can warm up the house. Not sure if we had any savings yet, but have been able to finally set our heating up and balance the house (because we had a working stay & it was move able to the coldest part of the house. Fantastic for the hot water too with v3 we had ours on most of the time but have managed to get it down to 30 minutes in the morning and 30 in the evening.

I decided that I didn't want to mount the thermostat on a wall, as my previous thermostat was wireless also, and was on a stand. The Nest needs a power supply, which means plugging it into the mains - via a 5v adapter. This stand helps to hide the connecting wire, and provides a nice firm base for the thermostat to live in.It's solidly made, and performs it's task well. I purchased it for £15.00, which I think is reasonable - but I'm not sure that it is worth it's original £30.00 price tag.

To be truthful it takes a little getting used to! Once about 7/10 days it comes up with heating 'solutions' for your everyday (inc Hot water). As previously mentioned by other buyers, it figures out when your not at home & shuts down. Even to texting to inform of its cleverness. We have ours in the hall, which has a lot of movement & this seems ideal.Obviously very beneficial in the winter when any combination can be achieved on both heating & hot water.Highly recommended.

We tried to install this - we had difficulty and thought it wasn't working (Even our local plumber had an issue. Sent it back thinking it wasn't working. Regret it as we got another at £50 more expensive :( It seems we didn't have enough power going to the unit (Be aware) Once we got another plumber to sort it, it worked well. We are still trying to work out how to programme it properly so may have an expensive heating bill this month! I think it will be an asset in the future
