I have had a borner slicer for over 15 years. Unfortunately, it broke. The replacement is just as good. My gripe is the stand. The old stand was slim and held all the parts in a compact and easy to use manner. I tried the new one in the old stand and, of course, none of the parts fitted. No choice but to buy a new one. However, having bought the stand, I had to buy another part to hold the two julienne cutters. The whole stand takes up about five times the space the original borner stand did. It is not very stable and is not as easy to use. I am very happy with the slicer, but not the stand and julienne cutters holder. The stand and cutter holder seem very Heath-Robinson. For a product that is not cheap,

I've had a Borner mandolin for decades, and it has been a very dependable tool. Now it has finally become time to retire and replace it.This new Borner - which is almost (but not quite) identical - is also excellent and I am sure will last just as long. If I was to be picky, I would say the lager "chipper" produces rather thinner "chips" than I'd like; but this seems a pretty minor point and I'm sure I will adapt!I haven't rated this item for "sheerness" as this is a term I associate with nylon stockings and Medway towns - neither has much to do with a kitchen slicer.

I've been using Börner Slicer since 80's when I bought first one. After over 30 years of using I decided to buy a new one as previous one at last started to losing its sharpness. And believe me I am frequent user as my family always have fresh vegetables for diner and with this slicer its really easy to prepare everything in a minute. Cabbage, carrot, parsnip, tomato and potato are easy to dice or slice doesn't matter how tough they are. The price however could be a little bit lower but if you like to prepare own meals instead of eating ready ones it's worth it.

As an avid cook I purchased this after alot of hesitation but I was honestly quite impressed by such a simple but effective slicer.After purchasing numerous chopper slicers with so many different attachments I was ready to try something simple.The build is superb and sturdy, each slicer was labelled it also comes with a safety cover which is super handy.Bought whilst on offer but I do understand why they are bit more higher end priced because they are super durable.

It's a good , very well made piece of grating fruit , veg etc... But you have to be extremely careful while handling and washing it ( we dont have dishwasher) . The blade is very sharp so when I wash it under the running water it take a bit of a time to do it properly and you have to do it slowly otherwise you can easily cut your fingers. I guess it is safe if you have dishwasher.I gave a 4 star because I thing it's slightly overpriced .

I remember my mum had the orange one. She bought it about 20 years ago and the quality was great.It is still one of the best V slicer on the market I believe. I have tried different (not V shape) slicers and was very disappointed.Some of the little blades on the ''chipper, fries'' insert are little bend, not in right angle to the base ( Borner quality check?), but it didnt affect the cutting.Other than that, great slicer

Bought this to replace the one I bought in 1995 and was still using until recently when I finally snapped part of it. Shame really because my old one was still sharp and worked fine. It was because of this I didn’t hesitate to buy a replacement. Even if this one only lasts 10 years it’ll be a bargain but I expect it will outlive me!Recommended.

Perfect for its use, German quality for longevity as cheaper thin mandolines tend to break with constant use.Not the most simple model, but highly customisable for use. This makes it not the best model for beginners, but if youre buying a second mandoline this is the one.Cant wait for easy near-instant raw salads

This is my second purchase in 41 years of marriage,my last one finally broke last year and I tried another make because of the cost.I won't be making that mistake again..worth every penny.xi just wish they weren't so expensive.

This the best slicer I have ever used.Great product been used in commercial kitchen so have had heavy use and still preforms 6 months good as the first day.Save ur self the hassle and buy this one?

Happy with product, Takes a little practice but fairly easy to get used to. The blade is very sharp so keep your fingers clear!. A box or container for storage would have been nice.

Pleased with the product, but would have thought some form of box to store it in would have helped. Also this did not have the non slip feet as shown in the YouTube videos.

Happy with this in general. Sturdy product, ideally I would have liked a smaller item. I have a camper and it's gonna take up a lot of space.

My mother has since 20 years so I bought it after her experience.The blade is still sharp since the beginning.

Very quick and easy to use. The only issue is that the product does not come in a box for storage.
