It's no exaggeration to say that I have been longing for this AAA Trilogy to come to the Nintendo Switch since I bought the console on launch day in 2017......and here it is in all it's amazing glory.....Remastered with all the DLC's!I owned these 3 games back in the day on my Xbox 360 & infact, BioShock was the sole reason I originally purchased the 360. If you have played these games before on other platforms then they need no introduction. If you have not played these games and are going to buy them, then I am jealous of the journey you are about to go on. The amount of effort, skill & love 2K poured into these masterpieces is a joy to behold. The storytelling, the gorgeous art deco graphic styling, the atmospheric crackly audio logs, the beautiful soundtrack to the insane & unnerving chattering from Splicers you can hear nearby before they jump you from a dark corner are some of gamings most memorable moments. Small details & touches matter to me when playing a game & so I encourage you not to speed-run this trilogy and instead take your time between battles & fights to look around Rapture & Columbia & explore every nook & cranny for hidden items & soak up the stunning atmosphere these games create.BioShock is a FPS with some RPG, cutomisation & stealth elements with a bit of horror thrown in for good measure. The player takes on the role of Jack and you are guided by various characters that have sight of you via audio through the worlds of Rapture & Columbia by objectives. There are moments where you will have to make stark choices which impact the story. The game concept incorporates ideas by 20th Century dystopian & utopian thinkers such as George Orwell & Ayn Rand aswell as historical figures such as John D Rockefeller & Walt Disney. I won't spoil the stories in these games other than say that they were some of the first I had ever played that offered the player a moral dilemma. All 3 games & DLC play beautifully on the Nintendo Switch in both docked & handheld mode. These Remastered games look even better than the original versions I played on my 360......and there was nothing wrong with the originals. If you're looking for FPS games with a bit more to them, then I encourage you to get this trilogy. It will not disappoint.

The original Bioshock is one of my favourite games of all time and I have played all the games in the series before on the PS3 and then remastered on the PS4.Therefore I must say common sense regarding spending more money abandoned me somewhat when I decided I just couldn't resist buying the collection again for the Switch! However, I must say that I absolutely do not regret this rather questionable decision at all and I'm 100% happy with this frankly perfect port of all 3 games. They are all simply superb on the Switch, they look pretty much exactly like the PS4 version to me and the sublime award winning soundtrack is still one of the best ever heard in the gaming world. More importantly, the games play fantastic on the Switch both Handheld with Joy Cons or docked with the awesome Pro Controller, they are honestly a total pleasure to play through again maybe even more so than ever particularly on a portable device and the original Bioshock is 12 years old now which is a testament to how great that game was and indeed still is!It is fair to say that BioShock 2 is perhaps the weakest link in the series but it's still very good while the final installment BioShock Infinite is another brilliant game and all single player DLC is included with every game, there is plenty of replayability with the harder difficulty levels as well. The story that runs through all the games is both imaginative and excellent and there are some great ideas brought in here that many future games followed bringing together both FPS and RPG elements in tremendous fashion. To summarise, BioShock The Collection is a flawless port of one of the best series of games of all time to the beloved Nintendo Switch. There are some people saying not to buy the cartridge version due to the fact that you still need a 30GB download but while this is a fair point I have no problems with downloading and I still like to have the physical cartridge and case etc plus it's £7 cheaper on Amazon than the Nintendo store version anyway, just be aware that clearly you will need a micro SD card for the downloads!A real portable trip down memory lane and easily 5 stars every day of the week for me, if you own a Nintendo Switch.... Buy this!

All three of the remastered games in this collection are fantastic, regardless of whether or not you’ve played the originals. The games stand out for me not just because they are good shooters, but also because they offer great stories.Bio Shock 1, which initially looked like an average shooter, really turned the tables and impressed me with its clever story. It's not clear why you are there at the start, but the plot twists that unravel in the game are brilliantly conceived and makes it a story you wont forget. The underwater city of Rapture looks beautiful, yet macabre, giving quite a contrasting atmosphere.Bio Shock 2 often gets a bad press, but is actually quite good.I think if you’ve played the first one you'll kind of know where it's going, so it doesn’t have quite the same feeling of suspense. That said, I still loved the story. The combat is slightly improved over the original with the main change being able to use plasmids and weapons straight from the trigger rather than switching.BioShock Infinite is easily the best of the three in terms of overall story, gameplay and graphics. Slightly less variation in weapon ammo, but still great flowing combat. The story is again ingeniously written with a witty twist ending. If I had to name one downside it would be that for the first few levels I was wondering if they really wanted this to be more of a stealth/adventure game than a fps. The action does pick up though and is more deadly now that you cannot carry medikits.I'd recommend you play them 1, 2, Infinite to get the best experience. The stories don't continue directly, but 2 contains a lot of spoilers about 1 and I think you'll appreciate Infinite more if you've played the first two, especially once you go on to the Burial at Sea DLCs.

Bioshock came out in 2007 and was in instant classic, Bioshock 2 continued that tradition of great game play combined with atmosphere. Then Infinity came along with a angle on this amazing series. All 3 in one place and on Xbox one superb... £10 per game can't grumble. I am really enjoying playing them again.Remastered? If remastered mean higher definition then yep they have got that. The graphics are crisper.Bioshock when it came out was a real system tester for all PC's. It really looked stunning. The initial trip down into Rapture was lovely to watch back in 2007. But now it does look a touch dated, higher definition, but dated. The octopus that swims through is quite angular, the lighting is not quite the stunner it was back then. These are minor issues, but when I read "re-mastered" I did expect updated graphics. Not just higher pixel count. You get 2 disks which was a surprise. B1 and B2 on one disk and Infifnity on the other. THere are supposedly all the add on packs as well. Not got to them yet though.Install is a slow as ever.. B1 and B2 only play with thier disk installed. So disk swapping is a must if you from them to infinity. Which is a real disappointment.Glitches- I have noticed a few in B1 but nothing so far in B2.Lock ups - I have had a couple of lock ups in B! and in B2, At one point neither game would start and an error code came on screen.ALL IN ALL - I am really pleased to play these games again, do I notice the higher def graphics? Well to be honest no. If I set up my 360 again and ran the games on there at the same time then maybe. But really to me this is a reasonably cheap way to play 3 of my favs on my xbox one and hopefully on the new xbox next year.I say buy it

If there is a must when it comes to remasters, it's BioShock. These 3 fantastic games are back in 1080p and 60fps and they look glorious. If you haven't played any BioShock yet, this is the best time to get stuck in. All 3 games, remastered with all DLC. At £32 it’s a bargain to play a fantastic game with a deep story. As a veteran returning to play through the three games of BioShock: The Collection is a pleasure to play and I cannot wait to fully explore these games again with the new and improved graphics. The original BioShock receives the greatest overhaul with new textures and lighting that bring it almost up to modern standards. Even Bioshock 2 and Infinite look like they are the PC versions of the games.Simply put, the YouTube comparisons don't do this collection justice at all. You really need to experience it yourself to see it. There is also no day one patch for any of the titles, so you can play these games out of the box without a problem. I’m pretty sure this is an industry first in the past 5 years of gaming. I literally cannot remember the last time I bought a game that didn’t have a day 1 patch. The extras are mind blowing with all DLC thrown in and new features like the developer commentary and concept arts. The packaging is also slick. Considering how much effort 2K put into this collection, it's worth the price than most "remasters" being put out at slightly lesser price. The file size for all three games with DLC is 72GB so make sure you have enough space on your HDD to avoid disappointment!

I have written relatively in depth reviews on Bioshock and Infinite before. I don't believe I have for the much maligned sequel which isn't that bad it just isn't considered a true sequel as Irrational didn't develop it. I would imagine if you're here you know about the titles you know the story and incredible characters. You just want to know if runs well... well it does. The water effects in the opening sequence of Bioshock when the plane crashes still holds up. The fact that this title works and works well is slightly bewildering. Obviously not like on a home console but I wasn't expecting it to be.As people are finding out with The Outer Worlds you can drastically diminish graphical fidelity and the game still doesn't run properly.I have had to finally purchase a Micro SD Card but it was overdue. I paid £35 (Now £33) for two of my favourite (And Bioshock 2) gaming experiences ever. The narrative, multi-faceted, fleshed out three dimensional characters, beautiful art deco environments and layered story still make Bioshock stand out. These games make me want to re-read 1984. I only bought a PS Vita years ago as Bioshock was supposed to be getting released on it. Truly wonderful experiences that I cant recommend enough. Must Buy and value for money.

Bioshock games are arguably some of the best narrative FPS games available and now you can take them anywhere on the Switch in their remastered form.Graphics are brilliant with their own quirky style and the levels are engaging. Enemies are well designed and are pretty creepy. But the gameplay really sets this series apart. It is just so fun and offers a real challenge.Everything runs brilliantly on the Switch either hand held or docked. Joy cons work fine however I do use a Switch Pro controller just because it in my opinion is the best controller ever made. Really makes this and all games better as it is so responsive! All games are on the cart. Downloads are required so make sure you have a SD for the extra space. However, good news, there are no one use download codes with this collection so the game can be shared with others. All in all a great value amazing package with the added benefit of being able to play these amazing on the go!Read full review...

I've never played the bioshock games when they were released on the old gen consoles but I've been told numerous times to play the series and I've finally come across to buying the collection on Xbox oneI can honestly say the game as a whole is unforgettable and amazing from the story to the gameplay I was captured by every scene and was very surprised in how some of the characters turned out and was also struck to the storyline.I will be recommending this to anyone who hasn't played the bioshock series before as someone who is new to the game. If your having second thoughts about buying this i can make it simple for you to definitely purchase this, the YouTube videos don't do it justice it's one to experience for yourself you will not be disappointed and for me it's £32 well spent and one of the best games I've played in along time and wish I had played this when it was first released.

I remember fondly, playing the first BioShock when it came out and it blew me away! The gameplay, the story, the setting, the characters, the twists and turns - it was all so familiar yet original to the core and incredibly interesting. BioShock has kept this formula going over the course 3 games without getting at all stale or dull. This collection has certainly arrived at the right time, with the first game having come out 9 years ago! The game looks as great as it did back in 2007 and I'm sure the others look brilliant too (I can't comment as I've not made my way through the first game just yet) and it's such a great injection of nostalgia playing them again!I don't want to comment on the visual upgrades and all of that because I believe this game's story and gameplay are enough to keep the player satisfied without the need for amazing, life like visuals!

As an avid bioshock fan this was a must for me! I have already played through all 3 bioshocks on the Xbox 360 and they were smooth and awesome but this just blows that out the water for remastering! Everything has been polished with extra little touches with lighting and framerate. If there was ever a remaster with great value for money, at £32 this is a steal! If you haven't played any of these bioshocks or have just played 1 etc...then you are in for an amazing adventure with these. Brilliant storytelling with great and fun enemies, awesome weaponry and gorgeous surroundings. These games are what single player games are about, engrossing and brilliant. I would recommend bioshock the collection, like another reviewer has said it will never be out of my top ten either! Great stuff 2k! Happy gaming!

Money well spent, played the originals on PS3, but great to replay on the PS4, not sure there has been any improvements to the PS4 Version. But don’t have my PS3 connected anymore so it’s fun to be able to play these on PS4.I replayed the first Bioshock to my surprise its even better than I remember it’s an outstanding game even compared to newer PS4 games, Bioshock 2 is a good game but it’s to similar to the first game, and that was the criticism at the time of its release. But Bioshock infinitie is great in its own way. It’s a bit more action shooter than the first game, it’s visually more appealing than the first and feels like it was made for PS4 considering it was actually PS3 game which is really surprising.Great collection,a must buy.

Having loved the Bioshock franchise since the first game was released in '07, but not being a PC gamer, I was ecstatic as soon as I learned the full collection was coming to the Xbox One. So, being an Amazon Prime member, it was quite infuriating that I didn't receive the game in the 'guaranteed' next day delivery time-slot. Delivery did only take 3 days, though, so I can't complain too much.Haven't even taken the cellophane off the case yet but I'm rating it 5 stars: the original Bioshock is the best game I've ever played (closely followed by Infinite). Plus, you're getting 3 games plus all single-player DLC for cheaper than a standard AAA title at £32. If that's not a bargain, then I don't know what is.

This is a great collection of games with all post dlc, i absolutely love the bioshock series, to the dark setting of rapture to the bright colours of Columbia, the controls stay the same throughout the series with a few changes to the powers you obtain in the games, vigours replace plasmids in bioshock infinite. I also really liked how the burial at sea dlc for biochock infinite tries the whole story together. It was a shame that irrational games ended, as i was looking forward to where they would go next with the bioshock series, i know 2k marin have now taking over the development duties, i just hope they will do a good job on what ever the next game will be.

As someone who has never played the bioshock series I didn't know what to expect but my golly gosh! I have been blown away by this series I've just finished bioshock 1 and starting the 2nd and the story is superb let's just say if it weren't for me being off work due to covid I'd have some serious explaining to do to my boss why I'm looking half dead and sleep deprived haha last night I didn't go to sleep until 6AM!!!! Because I was so hooked on the game I couldn't put it down it's a 12/10 recommendation from me!The game itself runs super smooth and loading screens are rather fast and the graphics look rather nice considering the age of the games !

So only halfway through Bioshock one but Ive played this game millions of times. Know the plot from start to finish but it didn't stop me buying this. The remaster is awesome the graphics are incredible from the previous game the videos didn't do it justice. The water looks much better, shadows look better and the graphics look good enough for a game today.I've played Bioshock 2 before but haven't got around to the remaster yet. Never played infinite but sure will in this collection. Look forward to it.Game is a masterpiece and the atmosphere of rapture is even more believable and realistic in this remastered version. Buy it.
