I had not previously seen the Berserk manga or anime before playing this game for fair few hours but then went and watched some of the anime films to compare. The story meshes pretty well with the warriors hack and slash style of gameplay and was creative enough to give you the feel that you are playing through the story of Berserk. If you are familiar with the warriors series (Dynasty, Samurai, Orochi) you will be very comfortable with the control system and display from the off. If you are not familiar, its pretty accessable to pick up. One of the major positives is the gore on the battlefileds that gives that extra edge of realism that I personally think the warriors series should look to

This musou game has plenty of untapped potential. The lack of any multiplayer and a ridiculously small character roster hold it back from being one of the bests, especially since the story mode doesn't feature any character-exclusive missions they could have pulled from the manga. That being said, the gameplay is extremely addictive thanks to the decapitation system in which the main character can enter a devil trigger-like state and crush their opponents to bloody pieces. While some details of the original story are left out, and although it reuses and censores scenes from the Golden Age Arc movies, it tells the story of Gut the Black Swordsman far more faithfully than most adaptations,

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is a little repetitive, but its combat is still somehow addictive enough to be an enjoyable action game with a dark-fantasy story that stays true to its source, most suitable for fans of Berserk. It even left me craving to try out new characters in Endless Abyss Mode.A Seriously Fun Hack & Slash Gore Fest With An Interesting Story Plot With Much Depth Behind It. Interesting & Insanely Fun To Play.

I loved the anime and was excited to hear there was a game. I boughthis game a while ago and I'm so glad to see that they kept to the story line, what's even better is that you can play in that story. For the one's who watched the 1997 show sadly this game dose not have this story line. It is based around the Golden Age Arc story line plus I think the 2016-1017 anime show.

I'm a huge fan of Berserk and I always wanted to try this game, I don't regret purchasing it, it's not the best looking current gen game so don't expect much from the graphics, the gameplay is typical for a musou title, your character faces hundreds of enemies and you have to kill them with your huge sword.
