So at first glance, at 20 pounds, these Bristle Blocks might look a tad on the expensive side, but when you get down to it, they are so strong and sturdy they will never need to be replaced and I would hazard a guess at no broken pieces. This makes them excellent value for money. There is lots in the box and with so many different combinations, it is quite easy for the kid's imagination to run wild and build build build. The little characters are really nice and well made too and the weird thing is, the kids have no problems with breaking these up after spending time making them. That USUALLY leads to arguments when building lego, but I think with the different combinations available, they usually have another idea for another build which keeps them from fighting over breaking them up :)The only bad point, and I am nitpicking here, is they come in a plastic tub, which has a flimsy lid which becomes unusable after a couple of days use, so these would be much better in a box with a lid. Apart from that, its a top toy.Edit: the video is unwatchable. For some reason it is uploading in horrific quality

Now hands up who in their youth had 'Stickle Bricks'? These were one of the main alternatives to Lego and something I always wanted as a kid, but was never lucky enough to get given.Well now years later here I am finally getting to play with these bricks which are essentially the same thing under a different name, but now they are even better having some 'special' bricks which as far as I recall the originals never had. These special bricks include characters such as a lion, a monkey, flowers, plant stems and others. This greatly increases the playability of the bricks as now you can for example build a little dwelling for your favourite character. You also get quite a few (54)bricks in this set which is quite a good base to build a bigger collection on.If there is one criticism its the fact that these bricks are just as much fun as I always thought they would be when I was a kid and as such when my nieces and nephews visit I don't get a look in! Guess I'll have to get more so I can play as well :)

Well, from a kid's point of view these are great. They are wonderfully versatile and robust, and the 4 year old likes making theatre scenes while 1 year old prefers just making towers. We also got the suitcase set and both loads of bricks can fit into the case, which is good news for tidying up and storing. However I don't see this having the longevity of Lego so for the environmental footprint I think I'd rather go for Lego....a good toy but too much plastic for one that's not a keeper...Also, I hadn't realised but these are not the same as the Stickle Bricks that I remember from my childhood. I don't have any to compare, but that's another thing that makes me a bit tepid about these, even if the kids enjoy them.

Aha! Now these I do remember, I had very similar toys when I was young....way back in the 70s and its good to see they are still popular. I guess its a less fiddlier, easier to use precursor to lego for young folk though just as painful when stepped on. These ones are amazingly good quality and you get LOTS, nicely packaged in a storage bag. Endless building possibilities and the animals included are a very nice touch. They fit together well, are brightly coloured and extremely durable. Most toys these days are easily broke and forgotten about, these things are up there with coloured wooden bricks....a staple of play, Ive enjoyed trying them out myself as they brought back memories.Top toy!

This is a nice little set of block and they're well made. You get quite a lot for the price and the little animals are colourful and fun for toddlers. The bricks themselves go together easily but lose a star because they just don't hold that well. For the price though they are good and my children loved them. And if you've had any Stickle Bricks in the last few years you will have noticed that they don't seem to be made as well as they used to be. These are better than the modern Stickle Bricks from what I can remember but we haven't bought any for around 2 years so maybe they've out whatever they were doing wrong.

These are fantastic!I am of an age to remember playing with Stickle Bricks as a child, and as far as I can tell these Bristle Blocks are almost identical. They are perfect for little builders who are too young for Lego, and they are a more interesting texture and design that other comparable young-child building products around. My nephew (nearly 2) found them very attractive and easy to put together, and has had hours of fun from them already, and his older sister (4) enjoys building with them too.Excellent product at the price - highly recommend!

Amazing construction bristle bricks set jungle theme comes into a clear sturdy plastic tube being easy to tidy up and storage at the end of the day . The pieces are very strong but flexible enough to build anything what your kid's imagination can build , a variety of colors and shapes and a few extra special characters. The bricks sticks together quite well and works good with other stickle bricks , I would recommend this for 4+ though, can be used by 3+ but with an adult support , otherwise good quality product

So they mostly get 5 stars due to how much my 2.5 year old absolutely and utterly adores them. He already had a basic set and these were bought as an add o . He got the basic set for his 2nd birthday and has not gone a day without playing with them. It's one of the few toys he's very particular about and makes sure to treat then well and not lose any pieces. He can entertain himself for hours with them and comes up with the craziest things to make from them, things I could never have imagined

When I was a child I loved playing with sticklebricks; these Bristle Blocks are essentially the same thing; simply join them together to make models. Very easy to use, great fun, and an upgrade on those from 40 years ago as they come with some animals and wheels to expand the range of what you can make. It would be nice if they came in a more sturdy container that you could use for storage going forward, but other than that, these are brilliant. Four stars.

What a fab set. It’s nice to have a blocks toy that’s not simply based on a Lego style of brick. You get lots of colourful pieces and other bits like animals. I might be tempted to pay just a bit extra though for the bigger 85 piece set as you get a storage box with it rather than just this flimsy packaging. Our youngest loves this and it’s nice for him dexterity to be challenged in a different way than constructing Lego styled blocks.

These are great little bricks for little hands, very sturdy and will take a lot of tugging and pulling and throwing about. All very colourful and come in a nice little bag to keep them tidy. There are 54 pieces including little toys to make little towns shops etc all brightly coloured and easy on their little hand. Had these years ago for my kids and they lasted years. Great little product will give them hours of pleasure.

my 15 month old has just discovered these bristle blocks and he loves them bought a couple of different packs so he has a good collection of them, (7 year old daughter really likes them too) much better than they used to be when I was little with the added bonus of little animal characters, we've had hours of fun building and playing with these would recommend and would definitely buy more!

In an age when even babies gravitate toward smart phones and devices for their kicks, it is nice to have a traditional toy that exists in the physical world and requires thought and a little effort to enjoy. Stickle bricks tick this box, and are a great stepping stone while the little ones are two young for the ultimate toy (IMHO) which is lego! This is a good value pack.

Bristle blocksGreat little starter set , flowers have my little one amused and fascinated.Would be better if the box would last more as now have them in a different container.Great they spin and do other functions than the norm!Be careful if your little one still likes putting things in their mouth as Some pieces are small and could be dangerous
