I AM BATMAN!!! Absolutley loved this game. Rocksteady have really outdone themselves on this managing to incorporate almost everything you could think of when it comes to being the Batman. The plot itself is just as gripping as Arkham Asylum and out does the scale of Arkham City/ Origins. I dont want to spoil any of the plotline itself as there are a few surprises in store especially for close followers of the game series. I found myself glued to the TV, ignoring my family and friends for almost a week playing through and absorbing everything this game has to offer (that i could discover so far), With appearances from characters I didn't expect and again intriguing side missions that are more than worth your time just for the entertainment value. This includes the appearance of a certain Professor who has haunted my nightmares since I encountered him in his first appearance in comics. The identity of the Arkham Knight was slightly disappointing, I say this because as you play through the game the mystery disappears not as gradually as I would have liked and by the time you unmask the character you're no longer that excited or surprised.. plus, because I had guessed who it was behind that mask before the game was released took away most of the suspense.I was also left a little bit upset by the lack of boss fights, and I don't mean all them hefty tank battles becuase yes they are boss battles, but i missed bataranging Poison Ivy, countering Deathstroke I cant recall any of that going on in this game atall. Dont get me wrong though the boss fights in the Batmobile are fun, challenging and new, I just miss going toe to toe with baddies and the feel of fist in face. The city is rich and detailed with Easter Eggs around every corner alluding to a vast DC game universe, from Kord Industries to Lex Corp I was constantly having to stop mid journey to check these eye treats out. The graphics really are beautiful and the city really feels alive and explorable which is a big step up from Arkham City and Origins which felt more like obstacles rather than a living breathing city with a story to tell on every brick. The controls where a bit of a throw off seeing as im so used to the gameplay of the old Arkham games but it does a good job of keeping Arkham Veterans on their toes and getting the game to feel fresh for them. I don't understand the negativity surrounding the Batmobiles controls. Depending on the individual is how you find the Batmobile, its new and requires practice, I for one found the racing and chasing easy to learn and master but I am however still struggling to master the Battle mode controls, that doesn't mean i should take to the internet and blame the game makers for *boohoo sob* making the game to hard for me to play and complete 100% in under 24 hours. If you want to master the Batmobile then master the Batmobile if you don't then get over it and move on, you want them achievement's your supposed to earn them not get them all handed over for just putting on the Batsuit and calling yourself Batman.I really hope this isn't the end for Rocksteady Batman games, They've apparently shown interest in tackling other Superheroes in video games for the future but i sure hope they come back with a Batman Return of the Dark Knight style game or maybe even a Batman Beyond game. Owell for now.. The Arkham series is dead and im laughing, Rocksteady Batmans gone and im laughing.

I never played the previous Batman game "Arkham Origins", I can only go on Arkham Asylum & Arhkam City both were incredible for their time... Arkham Asylum introducuded free flowing combat, linking an enemy to another while decideding on the move who to attack first. An element of exploration somewhat limited to the asylum walls. The Joker was a major villian & was right at home as head of this domain, the story was excellent, voice acting spot on. City introduced the open world of moving rooftop, to rooftop explorering the higher parts of Gotham City bringing in more fiendish puzzles & larger exploration, bigger map, more moves... A larger cast increased the chaos, the Joker brought along allot more villians to create traps for you over 400 riddler trophies to collect, while increased side missions & depth to the city.Arkham Knight - 3hours in...First off the graphics & lighting is imense the best in the series using the latest tech to create the tension in Gotham, allot has gone into this title time, effort, passion for the characters & loyalty to the fans. The opening scene is a clever move to invite you in to the "Scarecrows" world & how the story unfolds, Batman moves very well, keeping the combat moving fluently, gadgets in check also. The freedom of Gotham like city is here also flying high on the rooftops with an introduction to a better control system in the air also. New additions, Arkham Knight brings for the first time the batmobile... This as you see it for the first time is amazingly well done, It looks as good as the Nolan Batmobile & seems at home on the streets of Gotham. There are enimes gallore that litter the streets, which as you have the Batmobile are easy to dispose of... which brings me to the "tank scenes" The enemies need a weapon to take on the caped crusader so bring on the Arkham Knight & hisarmy of tanks to attack the Batmobile, They attack in a pattern format like some of the old Super Nintendo games I have played repeat patterns & no creativity after your first 10 tanks you do get a little ohh.. The batmobile is equiped with its own tank mode which is operated by holding LT on the controller, feels easy to do and makes moving easy. Strafing from side to side is fun again but gets tiresome in a Batman game. The whole idea of the batmobile is grand, however the repeat process is a bit annoying. Also you take it with you everywhere... And i mean everwhere, places you wouldnt had thought too, it's almost a part of the suit! The Riddler trophies are here, like them or loath them & the 100% out there will be putting in the hours to collect them all. Introducing suprise a batmobile riddler trophy section, where the riddler tests you & your car to fiendish traps which seem right out of a Saw movie.OverallI really like this game from the moment I started to feel the way it plays, yes the Batmobile is a little used but thats my only issue this is a contender for Game of the year & its looking very good for the series to go out on a bang. There are loads of fan geek bits, the side missions to explore plus the predator & fight parts expand the game to get the best score... I haven't tried the DLC as of yet but for what I have played this is worth your time & money.

There is a tangible heaviness to the atmosphere of this game. Batman is weary after four games, and so are we. It is more of the same gameplay, but polished to PS4 standards. Combat is faster, sleeker but unchanged. The game world is much bigger this time, but also much more empty and there is not really a reason to explore every nook and cranny.Rocksteay included the batmobile this time, but it is not implemented well. It is difficult to steer and you keep crashing into buildings. Even after having finished the game, I still feel that I never got the hang of driving the batmobile. Worse, about half of the game revoles around driving, racing and battling tanks. About one hour into the game I already started thinking "o no,not the batmobile again". There have been several times I just could't finish a mandatory car race because of the poor steering, just switched off the PS4 because of how weary I was of it all, and stopped playing for a couple of nights. Worse still, even when not driving, about every enemy you meet on the street will constantly remark about how dangerous Batman's "tank" is. DURING THE ENTIRE GAME. It is just too much.On the other hand, the game constantly throws new gadgets at you in about every new situation you encounter. And forces you to use those gadgets for that specific situation. It makes for a very forced, mandatory solution to any new situation. This continuous to about 80% into the game, so it doesn't get much better. Then there are about five upgrade trees for your character, but I never felt the need to upgrade beyond the basic "increase resistance to bullits and melee attacks", because it was no use anyway because the game forces you to play a certain way all the time.Sidequests: some good especially ones about side characters (man-bat, Azrael, crucifications quests), but about half of them just boring fetch/do this/disable that quests. I only finished about half of them, whereas I am the type of gamer that usually finished about 90% of them.Story: the story is actually quite good, but we all see where it is going. The ending fits the atmposhere and the theme of the game quite well, so no complains there. Well. ok, one complaint: after having finished the main quest, it turns out you need to have finished the mayority of the side quests in order to get the second ending. And in order to get the "real ending" you have to find all Riddler trophies. Since I didn't like the side quests, I just can't be bothered to finish them for the 2nd and 3rd ending. I just looked up the endings on Youtube (shame on me!).Technical aspects of the game: the game is very beautiful, great atmospheric soundrack and I didn't experience a single tecnical problem. Very fluid gameplay. To conclude: the story and atmosphere were quite good (but with a certain heaviness to it all), but to me the gameplay experience was very unbalanced and, as such, I almost didn't finish the game. I personally think that gameplay-wise Arkham Asylum was the best of the three "Arkham" games.

This is an incredible game, its a perfect ending to rocksteadys amazing story that began all the way back in 2009. It takes some getting used to, as it is a far cry from the original arkham asylum, but rocksteady really have gone all out in trying to make the player feel like batman. With gadgets ranging from the usual batarangs and batclaws, to the new remote hacking device that can do everything from blinding sentry guns to unlocking doors and the voice synthesizer that batman can use to fake someones voice to get into certain areas. Combine this with an incredible neon filled gotham city to glide around and you truly do 100% feel like your the dark knight himself. The story is incredible, scarecrow returns with a major dark turn even for crane, with a plan to destroy batman. He dosent even want to kill him, he wants to destroy him, his myth and then break the fear that batman instills in criminals. In his own words" I want the world to see you for what you really are, a man. Just a man". Not only that but scarecrow has teamed up with the mysterious "Arkham Knight" who claims batman needs to pay for what he's done to him. Really its not a big reveal who he is, we're practically told halfway through the game when batman begins having flashbacks to a past trauma. Batman is pushed to his limits in this game especially mentally, theres an incredible twist involving the joker and we see batman slowly losing his mind. This is easily the best arkham story to date and the already perfect gameplay from asylum city and origins has been polished immensly. Rocksteady said they were developing this game solely for the next gen consoles and its definitly payed off. The biggest change is the batmobile, and while it does take some getting used to, i now cant imagine this game without it. It handles perfectly, it feels powerful and it creates a sense of powerfull destruction without feeling like its breaking batman rule of no killing. Batman dosent just have Scarecrow and arkham knight to worry about, tons of other criminals try to take advantage of a worn out Batman. Penguin, two face,Harley quinn, Hush, riddler, man bat, deathstroke, professor pyg, deacon blackfire, all make apperances as fun side missions. Some of which rival the main story. All the usual allies make an apperance from Commissiner Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Oracle, Alfred and lucious fox as well. Overall an amazing game and the ultimate batman experience.Update: Now that the dlc season of infamy has been released, there's four more sets of side missions if you purchase it. These include Killer Croc, Mad Hatter, Mr Freeze and Ra's al ghul.

'Arkham Knight' is the final instalment in Rocksteady's Batman series of videogames. This game adds a great deal to the fictional Arkham universe, and is a worthy successor to both ‘Asylum’ and ‘City’. The game draws upon several sources of Batman continuity, but also offers us much by way of original material. Here we get to see Batman at the height of his abilities, skills and prowess ... but it's also a somewhat aged Batman, whose career as a heroic crime-fighter is unable to go on for much longer. In this game, a vast roster of super-villains seek to destroy Batman - and he must rely on his skills and technology (especially the Batmobile) as well as his colleagues (not only Alfred, but Nightwing and Robin) to achieve victory. The introduction of the Arkham Knight character was innovative, and there are plenty of Riddler puzzles to solve ... But what makes this game special is that on this occasion some the darkest moments of Batman’s past are catching up with him. This game offers us a truly immense world to explore (as a free-roaming environment), and – like previous games – we get to play as Batman (from a third-person perspective, i.e. ‘over-the-shoulder’). While I've really enjoyed playing this game, I don't think it's quite as much fun as 'Arkham City' and it lacks the cohesion of the original 'Arkham Asylum' game. Nonetheless, it’s a really great game (I give it 85%). The videogame imagery is amazing. How the game flows is fantastic. And it sounds great (with good music). I think that this is the first game that's truly "next gen" (and couldn't play on an Xbox 360 or PS3). The makers of this game deserve praise, and have rightly won awards.Yet I think that at times there's too much going on. In this sense, it reminds me somewhat of ‘Resident Evil 6’ - which I thoroughly enjoyed, but found was a little too diffuse. I prefer a game with a straightforward plot and a single narrative. If it's going to be multi-layered and complex, that's fine - but add such layers as additional content, once the main story has been accomplished.Still, I'm left feeling very impressed by this game. I always enjoy being Batman ... and here I've especially enjoyed controlling the Batmobile. Having the season pass, I've just been driving the 1989 version of the car (wearing the black suit of Keaton). A lot of fun.Note: a novelisation of this game was released, and it's quite good. Also note, this game is rated '18' (so it's not suitable for young children).Overall, a very good game, but perhaps not my favourite in the series.

I picked this game up first thing this morning, so far I’ve only had time to play it for a couple of hours, but they were a great couple of hours! When you begin a new mission the cinematic intro begins, which in itself is beautifully done, it's authentic Batman and sets the tone for the game. When the impressive intro is over, and you have picked your jaw off the floor, you then see Batman (you) perched high above Gotham, the city skyline looks wonderful, your mission now begins.I won't say any more about the story, I don't want to spoil it for you, but first impressions are the graphics are absolutely stunning. The open world is exquisitely detailed, the lighting & reflections on the wet streets gives the game an atmospheric feel,it feels like you really are Batman, especially in Free Roam mode, which is epic. The Batmobile pursuit mode is awesome too, everything about this game looks polished & feels proper next gen. The combat system is familiar, pretty much the same tried & trusted controls as on Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, there are also a few new moves thrown in for good measure. If you have played either of these games you will be able to jump straight in.I have also spent a little time in Free Roam mode, this adds an extra dimension to the game. You can navigate Gotham in your Batmobile, it’s like GTA on steroids! A cool feature is you can use the momentum of your vehicle to launch Batman skywards, then with the aid of your Bat Wings, you have the freedom to swoop around the dark streets looking for scum to take down, when you happen upon a gang of thugs you can exact some Batman style retribution, temporarily making the streets safe again, it’s brilliant!Arkham Knight serves up the definitive Batman experience, and is by far the best Batman game yet, and I have no doubts at all that this game is going to be up there with The Witcher 3 for Game of The Year. If you are a Batman fan, and/or played the previous games, you will love this!

This game is fantastic, large scale open world with tonnes to do and the ability to go anywhere and climb anything. All set in the beautifully crafted Gotham City and believe me graphically this game looks stunning, colour saturation, frame rate and anti aliasing is virtually spot on.Combat is just as engaging and satisfying as it always was in past games but it's the batmobile that steals the show, weapons and gadgets galore and can be driven around the streets across most of the map. As per usual you can either make progress with the main storyline or make a detour and take down lower level criminals along the way and believe me there are plenty to go around! So what is the story and what do i think about it,well needless to say it's incredibly immersive and the more you play, the more you want to play! Essentially from what i've played so far Scarecrow has released a new type of the fear toxin in the city, most people are evacuated in time but those infected remain, you as batman and Commissioner Gordon along with some help from Robin and even Poison Ivy are the only ones left to help.Verdict: So far at least some 6 hours in i'm very impressed with how it looks and plays, they've removed all the barriers to truly exploring and you can literally go anywhere you want, I love some of the gadgets that batman has like the grappling gun and the ability to glide for ages makes travelling the map a breeze and the batmobile is simply the cherry on the cake. I've yet to encounter any bugs or glitches and it seems very stable and judging by what i've played so far i don't think i've scratched the surface of the game especially if you take into account all the side quests and missions available. The variety of game play on offer is to be applauded as is the level of detail the developers have put into the map!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and depending on how the game progresses could well end up being my game of the year!!

Now, I bought this game as a pre-order and let me tell you, I was not disappointed in the slightest. This does define itself as the touching end to an amazing trilogy created by Rocksteady Games.First, the Gameplay. If you've played any of the Arkham games beforehand you will find it familiar. The combat system that they have inspired has only been bettered and added to. The entire thing feels very flawless and smooth. The predator style gameplay has also been touched upon, making it more challenging and fun to play. One thing I will say about the gameplay was that the batmobile is heavily used. It can be a nuisance but once players are used to it, it can be rather fun to play.It can be a bit of a negative but it depends on your playstyle. The Story was not the best in the trilogy. It definitely does pay off and there are some interesting nuances touched upon as well as surprises and twists but it doesn't do itself justice. The chronological timeframe of the game does not seem to suit it, making it feel too compact and not very in touch with open world gameplay. Also, some plot points seem rather obvious and reused but don't let this put you off.The graphics themselves I personally think are phenomenal and definitely highlighted how they can be used this generation of consoles (at the moment the Xbox One and PlayStation 4). The attention to detail and general landscape comes together spectacularly and offers a vivid experience that will make you not want to put the controller down.To wrap it up, If you are a fan of Batman or have played this series, I recommend it. The easter eggs and the game in general offers a lot to you. For casual players I warn off getting this game unless it interests you, I would say this game requires knowledge of the previous games in the franchise to really get a payoff from your experience.

Never written a review before but felt compelled to. I've read a few negative comments in respect to the batmobile and yes I must say at first I did find it very frustrating, especially when faced with riddlers riddles or the racing round the track with the bat mobile. It did feel very clumsy but once you have spent a few hours with it it does become easier to control. So be patient people before going all guns blazing and saying how bad it is.The game itself is beautiful Gotham looks amazing in all its next gen glory.. The story so far I have found very immersive and lost many hours playing but have barely scratched the surface. There are so many side missions to keep you entertained if you wish or you can just follow the main story. You don't always play as the bat so far I have played as catwomen and Jim Gordon admittedly only briefly but it all adds to the experience..The general gameplay is brilliant the combat system flows very smoothly and has some new moves added as well. You can find it a bit repetive at times but as said the system is very smooth.Love the gliding you can seem to glide for an age especially now the grapple gun pulls you even faster so mean more height. You can ever glide out of the batmobile which is a pretty good touch.Anyway all in all love the game have been a massive fan since the 1st game and for me this does not disappoint and is probably the best to date shame it's the last. If you've played the previous games then you won't be disappointed and if you are new to it all I can't recommend it enough.Overall a 10/10 from me

I don't think I could possibly do justice to this game in this review. It's better than the previous games in so many ways. The flexibility of gameplay has been upgraded with every edition and this one takes it to the max. This one in particular rewards an intelligent approach to confrontations and investigations, while also making it more fun with the dual team takedowns and... THE BATMOBILE.Bat's tank is insane and is a fantastic inclusion. It becomes the preferred mode of transport and offers a completely new layer to battles and investigations. It's one of the most fun features of the new game and it just looks incredible (in one level, it pans to take in the Batmobile and its wheels in a cutscene and it just looks awesome...So awesome). The story is great, creating a new character, but still ensuring elements of existing comic book storylines are referenced and adapted. One of the biggest draws for this game are the graphics. When I firstly played it, I struggled to adjust to the sheer level of detail. You get used to it, but initially your eyes struggle to absorb the level of detail and activity in the streets of Gotham. And that is fantastic!I will be playing this for a long time to come with all of the side missions and also the additional DLC content (which obviously costs extra and I look forward to seeing how good this is - fingers crossed it's equally superb)All that is to say further than this is.. BUY THIS GAME. It's worth it.

As a long time fan of the Batman: Arkham games, right from the beginnin with Asylum and also the not-so-impressive Arkham Origins, I knew that I had to buy Arkham Knight. Once it arrives I was straight on it and had the most amazing feeling of nostalgia and excitement. From start to finish, this game kept me occupied and just in awe of the sheer beauty that the scenery holds and the size of the playable areas was ridiculous. The story itself was just fantastic with the overhanging question of "Who is the Arkham Knight". When playable the game I found myself sometimes wanting to take a break from the doing the main story missions and having a crack at the side missions that were available. With such a wide variety of missions that were available, I was extremely pleased to see some knew enemies, as well as some old, familiar ones.To anyone who is having any qualms or queeries as to whether or not they should buy this game, let me try to settle those thoughts for you. This game, the final chapter to the Batman: Arkham series, is a masterpiece, and if this is truly the last Arkham game, then I am more than okay with that. The combat is amazing, the addition of the batmobile is amazing, the story and writing behind it is fantastic and the overall experience from playing this game from the beginning cutscene right to the final credits, is, in a word, perfection...

There's not many series I can say this for, but I've played the arkham series from the start when arkham asylum came out and whereas some developers produce sequels which disappoints veterans, this does not. I see some reviews which talk about how there is too much batmobile, but it's just the same as how some of the other gadgets are, such as explosive gel. You do need it to complete sections, but it's not always in your face. The graphics, wow. These graphics for Xbox one look better than arkham origins on my PC (gtx970) with the exception of frame rate. I was slightly cautious as to whether I had been spoilt by PC graphics but this isn't the case (I'm sure arkham knight does look better on PC,but from arkham origins on pc this game looks really good). Not yet completed the story yet, but it's certainly building up quite nicely. New gadgets, enemies and moves work rather well and I would definitely recommend this game. GOTY.(Not tried the dlc yet, but hopefully or will work)

So if you're buying this you've most likely bought the other Batman Arkham games and you're wondering if this is any good or better than the others. Well I've got good news for you as this is currently the best Batman game to ever be created. Unlike Arkham City while it was open world you was only limited to a certain section of the city but this time around you get the full batman experience by being able to explore all of Gotham City. This game feature a never before seen villain called the Arkham Knight but if you listen to the story you should be able to figure out the Arkham Knight's identity before it's revealed. This game also has a bunch of super villains like Harley Quinn,The Riddler and Scarecrow just to name a few but they all play a major part in the game and there not just thrown at you like they kinda was in Arkham City. At the end of the day all the Batman Arkham Games are great but this just went over the top with Batman greatness.

Brilliant. Start to finish, brilliant. Having played only Arkham Asylum previously, the first installment in the series, part of me expected the same game but with a more open Gotham setting as the refresher. I bought the game for something new to play and thought, "oh this will keep me busy for a bit".How wrong I was; Rocksteady's scripting, dialogue and action sequences are worthy of a new blockbuster in the Knight series. You've got the nostalgia, the modern twist and feel as though you're actually playing a movie. It's actually pushed me to delve into Miller's graphic novels and understand how Nolan tried to make things work with his trilogy.Dark, unforgiving and true to the comic series,I urge anybody with even a snippet of interest in Batman lore to buy this game, it will not disappoint. Everything previously has been toughened up, as well as built upon, up until the game's brooding conclusion."I am fear...I AM the night, I AM Batman!"

This game is phenomenal! Even if you aren't much of a comic book/batman fan, you'll have so much fun playing this game. Its probably got one of the best looking Gotham cities to ever grace a screen, and has the best fighting mechanics in games today!! The storyline is fantastic and gripping, you actually feel for the characters and the moments. Some have said its very Batmobile heavy which it is but you can very easily to not need the Batmobile for missions which usual advice you too (as you progress through the story and get certain upgrades which will help with this playing type later in the game). This is my personal favourite Batman game out of the trilogy and Origins, its nails the character just like you expect from the comics and you can have some fun with the different skins available to change up peoples attire and Batmobile to look like your favourite Batman films.
