Having stupidly denied an operation to rid of my carpal tunnel a few years back, I am now finding it very difficult to make the time to go and get surgery, I also run a couple of businesses from home and the idea of not being able to use my right arm correctly gives me the heeby-jeebys!I am also a bit of a gamer and invest a lot of my time and money on computers, so I was not expecting this to perform like a pro gaming mouse.I have used this mouse for less than a week which is more than enough time for me to know of any obvious flaws in design and operation. The ergonomics simply work, it was getting to a point of frustration not being able to use a mouse because of the pain caused by my carpal tunnel and apart from other weird sensations carpal tunnel causes,I noticed it most whilst using a mouse. This mouse was bought on a whim and I honestly was not expecting much, but having used it now for this week, I have kind of fallen in love with it. Yes, this mouse is very strange when you first use it and there is a small mental adjustment you have to make compared to a normal mouse. But you will notice immediately that the ergonomics of this mouse allow your hand to rest in a position that does not bother carpal tunnel, I cant say this is a definite cure but it has most certainly reduced my pain by up to 80% and I have found myself staying up much longer than usual getting my work done. The quality of the mouse is good, there is a small issue that where for 1000 clicks or so it won't register a click along with the fact the DPI is much lower meaning it is much less accurate than my other mouse but these small niggles are noting and I would prefer them than the constant pain from my carpal tunnel. For less than a tenner, it's definitely worth a punt to see if you feel more comfortable. In fact, I would go as far to say that this is a much more natural position for your arm to sit and feel this should be the default shape of mouses. Also, 1 other annoying thing. If you are like me and you work from home and like to slide left to right on the desk, working on computer, picking something up to write and a bit of a fidget, you will find your self-moving your hand to the left of the mouse as if you are going over it and knocking it down as it is higher than your usual mouse, again another small thing you have to adjust to.I buy a lot of ANKER things, some of them have lasted a long time whilst others, not so much.Fingers crossed this stays alive for a good time.

Having been an excessive mouse user for over 20 years I am now suffering the effects of carpal tunnel, which causes mild to moderate pain during any actions involving the median nerve. I have tried wrist rests, gel pads and various supports over the years, but whilst they alleviate the symptoms to a lesser extent, they have never been a permanent solution to the problem.I came across the vertical mouse concept quite by chance, and having studied the theory behind it, decided to give it a try. I've now been using this particular model for a couple of weeks, and would report as follows:The first thing I noticed is that it's more 45 degrees than vertical.I thought the whole point of the vertical position was to eliminate the twisting of your forearm (as it is with a conventional mouse) but the 45 degree angle still results in a partial twist, which was something of a disappointment. Never the less, this still rotates your wrist just enough to remove pressure from the median nerve, so I could already see the benefit over my old mouse. The grip is comfortable and feels very natural to hold. The buttons and scroll wheel are nicely positioned, but the forward/back buttons under the thumb could have done with being a little further forward for my liking. The design took a little getting used to, but I was soon using Photoshop at my usual lightning speed. One thing I did notice after a while is that your hand can too easily slump back into the old position without really realising it, so your forearm is back to being fully twisted with only your fingers being repositioned to grip the different shape. This meant it was actually taking a conscious effort to maintain my grip as it should be, but I think this will get better over time.Functionality-wise it does exactly what a 5 button mouse is needed to do, and the DPI switch on the top is a handy extra. I just unplugged my old USB mouse and connected this one in its place, and it worked immediately.Overall I think this is a step in the right direction for the evolution of mouse design. Us middle-aged computer users have obviously been around for long enough to start experiencing the negative effects of it, so it's nice that manufacturers have identified this and are doing something about it. I will certainly be sticking with this mouse for now, and hope that newer models continue to evolve with a truer `vertical' position.

I've had a few different "Vertical" mice before, many are quite expensive but lack either sensitivity, back/forward buttons, require software or a plethora of other problems. Not so with the Anker mouse. Rather than being an entirely vertical 90 degrees, its more of a 45 degree grasp. This is fantastic if it's your first time using one of these types of mouse. The angle is just right, allowing you to move and adjust to it quite quickly. Within 2-3 days I was using it as quickly and efficiently as a plain old mouse.Additionally, if you suffer from RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury), as I occasionally do, this will have you right-as-rain in no time. After weeks of use I've had no pains.Hardware-wise,the mouse works on all sorts of OSes that I use, from older Windows 2000 machines to newer Windows 8 and even my server and laptop (Solaris & Ubuntu). All work just fine without any special drivers or other software. The sensor is surprisingly good, I bring the mouse with me to various locations with various working surfaces. Many optical sensors, even above the 1000DPI of the Anker mouse, have problems with some surfaces causing them to loose accuracy. However, that's not something I've experienced on the Anker mouse - fantastic. The only downside to the mouse that I could find were the main left/right buttons, which are quite loud and "clicky". The Back and forward buttons are also positioned on the lower side of the mouse under the thumb. This can be a bit tricky to reach - If I could redesign the mouse I'd have them just above the thumb. These are really tiny problems though and not something you're likely to be concerned about.Overall, for the price and comparison to other similar mice I've used in the past, I highly rate this mouse. It's certainly worth the money if it's your first foray into vertical-mouse-territory.

I suffer strained wrist, so bought this mouse as it's one of the cheapest vertical mouse. Have bought stuff from Anker before so I was expecting another good quality product. The first impression was good. The build quality is nice. The surface is matte and has a good texture. The sensitivity is very high compared to my old Logitech mouse, and has a button that switch between high and low sensitivities. The shape of the mouse gets a bit used to. It's a little too tall for my hands, but still much better than the old one.The only downside I noticed so far is the poor scroll wheel. When scrolling down, it sometimes scroll up instead. When scroll a click by click, it can go up and down all the time. This is really annoying and severely hampers the effort Anker has put into it. In contrast the old Logitech mouse never misses a click when scrolling.Overall, it's a keeper. But if a good scroll wheel is essential for you I'd recommend stay away from this mouse.[Update] After used it for a few days, the scrolling wheel problem is now becoming unbearable. I would NOT recommend this mouse until they fix the quality problem.[Update 2] Anker customer service team contacted me states the batch I bought had this scroll wheel problem and they recalled the whole batch. They offered a full refund AND a replacement, which I agreed. The new mouse arrived quickly after they said it became available. Now the scroll wheel works fine. The high DPI of the mouse is perfect for the shiny surface of my work table. My old Logitech mouse struggle to track on it. Switchable DPI is a plus too.Overall cannot complain. Kudos on Anker's customer service team to resolve the problem very quickly. I recommend both this mouse and Anker.

I am an self employed AutoCAD draughtsman & work 45 to 50 hours per week with constant mouse use. I had developed a problem with my wrist using a standard mouse and was in quiet a lot of pain. I looked at various options for changing my mouse and decided an ergonomic vertical mouse may help. There are lots of different styles and makes out there and to be honest I almost bought a mouse for around £100 but having used a standard mouse for 23 years I was not confident I would be able to use a vertical mouse with the speed and accuracy required for my work. With this in mind I decided to purchase a low priced Anker vertical mouse with the intention to replace it with an expensive (and presumed better)vertical mouse if it eased my wrist pain and if I could achieve the required speed & accuracy. I hated this mouse when I first stared using it but I stuck with it. I was in too much pain to do anything else. It has taken some time to get used to but I am now almost as fast and accurate with this Anker mouse as I was with my previous standard mouse. My wrist pain has massively reduced and seems to be improving all the time. If you are having wrist problems give it a go but be prepared for a learning curve when it comes to getting used to it. Stick with it and eventually you will improve.I'm going to stick with this mouse and don't see any reason to be changing it for a more expensive vertical mouse. For the price I don't think the quality is bad either. Decent plastics and the feel of the buttons / wheel etc. are all good. Just remember: Persevere with it and you will improve! Don't just try it for a few day because trust me it takes some getting used to but the benefits come in time

Blighted by forearm and shoulder pain, I had been using an Evoluent Vertical Mouse 3 (rev 2) for a couple of years. I often work on two or more computers at the same time and wanted another vertical mouse for my secondary machine. The Evoluent option was looking pretty expensive, so for £10 (though as I write my review I see the price has increased, as has the number of complimentary reviews) I thought I would give the Anker Vertical mouse a try.I'm really glad I did. I find the shape of the mouse makes for a much more natural grip than my old Evoluent. It's also lighter, which initially I thought might be a negative, potentially meaning the mouse would move as I clicked. This hasn't been the case at all and in fact the Evoluent now seems cumbersome to use in comparison. I had also feared that the finish might be cheap, harsh plastic but again, not at all; it has a slightly rubbery matte finish which is a pleasure to hold.So why wouldn't you buy it? I can think of five reasons:- you're left handed- you can't get used to vertical mice- you really hate glowing peripherals; the mouse has an illuminated blue strip visible on the picture- you want to reconfigure the extra buttons (back, forward and another); Anker don't supply their own driver software- you want to use the back and forward buttons but use a Mac; these buttons aren't recognised on Mac OS X.None of these were an issue for me. After the second day of use, I promoted the Anker to be my primary mouse and three weeks later still love it, so much so that I'm considering buying another for my second computer. A great product.

I actually have a few of these mice now, and for good reason. The first one I bought was wireless and although it worked well I found I was burning through batteries rather quickly (3-4 weeks). Figuring that the cost of batteries might equal the cost of the mouse itself within a year or so, I decided to get a wired version for my main use, and leave the wireless for my laptop.Actually that worked out well. The wired mouse doesn't 'pull' the same way as regular mice because of the vertical construction of the mouse, so I found that what I used to severely dislike about regular wired mice wasn't a problem at all. The mouse itself is just slightly bigger - about 10% higher than the wireless mouse which curves a little more to compensate and has a more squat base.It feels about the same, though, and the only real visible difference is that the blue light stays on in the wired version.Anyway, the reason I gave this product 5 stars after seemingly have to buy two to get the performance I wanted, was the customer service. On a follow up email from Anker, I mentioned how quickly the wireless mouse was burning through batteries - to explain my reason for buying a wired one, and was promptly greeted by their offer to send me a new one, at no extra cost. So I now have a new wireless one to replace my other one, and it seems to be working well too.So, if you're thinking of buying this mouse and it doesn't work out, don't worry about replacements. I'm pretty sure Anker will either refund or replace your mouse pretty swiftly if there's any problems.

Had researched a lot before buying this mouse with a limited budget. I have a Surface Pro and was using a normal mouse with it which had very hard clicks and crated pain after day's use. This is when, I searched on Amazon to for a better alternative with soft clicks and proper ergonomics. I knew about these vertical mice but had never used it. But this time, I thought of giving this a try after reading more than 1000 reviews. Initially, I was sceptical about the performance of this mouse and about my efficiency in pointing precisely as I am not used to vertical mice. Coming to the brand, Anker had the best reviews as compared to all the other mice in the similar price range. Earlier,I was considering same Anker mouse but wireless with Nano Adapter but negative reviews about the low battery life turned me down. The package was received well in a day and properly packed (kudos to Amazon standards and the seller). Out of the box, the mouse has Matte Black finish and soft touch plastic which feels very comfortable to hold. The mouse is not a feather light product (by that I don't mean it's very heavy either) but it has been given a very proper weight (concentrated at the bottom) which keeps the mouse stable and allows for a very appropriate movement and pointing (which took me hardly 15 mins to get used to). I have been using the product for 2 weeks now and must say this was a perfect addition. Would have loved to have a wireless one but didn't want to take risk of low battery life.

I have RSI 'tennis elbow' in both arms caused by years of computer use (IT career and gaming). It's an ongoing thing. This mouse is brilliant at mitigating the irritation caused by using a normal mouse. The angle is perfect and completely natural. I had used an upright mouse before but it was completely vertical, and I hadn't noticed that being at 90 degrees isn't totally natural until I bought one of these Anker mice. The slight inclined angle feels a lot better. The way the mouse feels in your hand is very ergonomic. It fits in smoothly, almost as if you can relax your fingers around it. The two inner thumb buttons are easily reached and not likely to be accidentally pressed. The one on the top is out of the way, too. The main buttons are easily clicked with little pressure, which is good. And I like the way it lights up :)I have 4 of these mice for various devices at home and in the office and would highly recommend them for everyday use or for games that don't require high precision. I play Civilisation 6 and Football Manager with these mice, and that's perfectly fine. But I wouldn't really recommend them for high accuracy FPS games. Not that I think they wouldn't perform well, but simply because they just aren't the right kind of mouse for that. The position of the buttons and the angle of the hand doesn't lend itself to intense shooters, etc.

Purchased as a replacement for a cheap and very nasty conventional mouse supplied with a new Asus PC. This Anker mouse is the first vertical mouse I have used. It fits the hand neatly, with the buttons all falling naturally under fingers or thumb. All five buttons have a light, positive action except for the scroll wheel button, which requires a firmer press: the scroll wheel itself operates smoothly, with just enough of click to feel without impeding. The mouse has been given a matte treatment that mimics something of the feel of very smooth rubber - much more pleasant than the usual plastic, and grippy without being sticky. On my Windows 10 PC it was true plug-and-play,and the learning curve was almost non-existent: the only thing I had to remember was that the mouse is taller than a conventional mouse, and so you need to learn to lift your hand over it. It takes up no more space on the desktop. The ergonomic effects claimed seem to be real: my arm immediately felt more relaxed all the way up to the shoulder, and I've been using it ever since. If you find that you suffer from wrist or shoulder pain from protracted mouse use, this may be a better solution, and for little more than you would pay for a decent wrist rest.Only time will tell if it is reliable, but at this price I would be prepared to replace it annually. I'm a convert.

I have been using this mouse for only a few hours, but already the discomfort and numbness that had been creeping up on me over the last few days seems to have disappeared. It fits my hand well (medium/large hands) and never feels as though I might lose my grip on it.There is a slight disconnect subconciously between my hand movements and the movement of the pointer at the moment, but after 20+ years of 'normal' mouse use I expect that to fade rather quickly.Helpful tip: I found that I instinctively tried to keep the mouse pointing North (if looking down on it from above) while using it which caused the tracking to be off at a slight angle, it seems this mouse is designed to be pointing at about the North West point (or 10-11 on a clock face)when used, this realisation helped me to suddenly click with this mouse. It also happens to be a more natural angle for my wrist.Comfort: 10/10Ease of use: 10/10Build Quality 8/10Value for money: 10/10But the best accolade I can give this mouse is that after holding it (wasn't even plugged in at this point) for about 10 seconds my partner proceeded to purchase one for herself.***Update after a few days***The 'disconnect' I mentioned is gone, there is no longer any effort or thought required in using the mouse, it feels as natural and instinctive as my old one.

Anker has always had amazing products and this one is no different. I really love the feel of it and the overall design is quirky but in the best possible way.- First and foremost, it's VERY ergonomic! I've had issues with my hand and wrists almost all my life and this mouse is a great help for this alone.- It's durable from what I can tell.- Very nice build quality which is insane considering how cheap it is!- Nice cable length, if a tiny bit short but again, for the price I can't complain as an extension is rather cheap and...- There is a wireless option for hardly any increase in cost! I've not tried it but I've heard it's excellent.- The overall look and design, with it's red and blue lighting and lovely texture really make it feel premium which leads me onto my next point...- The feel of the product. It feels allot like my Logitech MX Ergo mouse which is a MUCH more expensive mouse. This is a good sign as if they were to share one thing, that would be top of the list!- It also tracks very nicely despite having an optical sensor and it's rather lovely to use, even in games like WoW and ESO.Overall, I recommend this mouse as it's a great device, offers an incredible amount of features for the price and will very likely help you if you suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome like myself.

I bought this mouse because I was putting a lot of pressure on my wrist whilst using mice at work and home. This mouse true to the title is ergonomic and natural to use:Like many other reviewers point out the mouse feels comfortable and you quickly adapt to the new position quickly. Personally it took me an hour to stop thinking about my hand position. The thumb buttons are placed so that they are easy to use but if you want to avoid them your thumb also naturally sits away from them. The mouse has a smooth feel and doesn't have the sticky shiny plastic feeling cheaper mice have. There was a couple of minor grips I noticed:- The sensor struggles in high (1600) DPI mode on a white worktop surface causing mouse jitter on screen. This isn't a problem for me as I use the lower DPI (1000) setting but may affect other users using this surface.- The middle mouse button can be difficult to press in because of how stiff it feels. This partially isn't the mouses fault as my middle finger ends up sitting on the mouse button instead of in plane with it. I'm hoping in the future with use the mouse button loosens up a bit.All in all a recommended purchase at this price point. At this price I'm sure you could find a friend or family member who enjoys it and donate it if you don't.

I had high hopes changing to an ergonomic vertical mouse , high hopes that it would help alleviate wrist pain but there are some big drawbacks with this mouse - , its quite hard to use mainly due to the slippery surface but also I think due to my having small hands , my hand just seems to slip down and my wrist ends up trying to turn back to the position it would be with a regular mouse. In terms of its functions they are all there but unfortunately it just doesn't seem very ergonomic and due to the surface not very vertical. Seems sturdy and well built just not so practical.**Update** Anker contacted me off the back of this review and offered me a replacement, which is smaller and much easier to use,I have changed my review to 4 stars as this this model would be fine if you have larger hands , but for me the replacement they sent which is model A7850 is much better and more comfortable to use, very happy with the replacement - it is well made and responsive - 5 stars. Anker has proved that as well as great products they have exceptional customer service!Link to replacement here:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Wireless-Vertical-Ergonomic-Connection/dp/B07CT9X48L/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1537778988&sr=1-4&keywords=anker+vertical+mouse

I admit, 'life changing' is a strong term. However, I compete in two sports, Powerlifting and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, that require your arms to be in great condition. I started working 9-5 in an office and began getting AWFUL pains in my mouse clicking arm. It would keep me awake at night, and more importantly, stopped me being able to compete.I looked for some solutions and saw a review for a vertical mouse. This particular mouse was expensive, so I decided to try a 'cheaper' one first. At just £11.99, the Anker fits into this category, but as a product it's anything but cheap. Beautifully designed, it looks like a piece of NASA technology sat on your desk. The rubberised texture is very pleasing to the touch, while the action on the buttons and jog wheel are near perfect. It also took no getting used to, which I was a little apprehensive about. Here is the biggest thing though, the mouse is extremely comfortable to use, and since buying it a month ago I've had NO ARM PAIN WHATSOEVER. I mean, how can something for less than £12 work that kind of wonders?Seriously, if you're suffering from RSI for any reason and spend a lot of time at the computer, you'd be crazy not to give this a try.Thank you Anker.
