This right-handed mouse was purchased as an upgrade from my previous wired Microsoft Comfort mouse which had buttons that were starting to fail. I've never used an 'ergonomic' type mouse before and was somewhat concerned that I might have to re-adjust my hand movement to use such a design. This is not a problem at all! It fits the hand so well that within seconds of use I was upset I hadn't always had such a mouse! This is SUCH a good mouse. The "BlueTrack" technology tracks brilliantly on any surface (except for mirror finished glass & metal). It's reported to track more surfaces than a high-end laser mouse. It has a great weight to it, probably due to the two AA batteries that it runs off.It weighs in at around 5.47 oz (155 g). I really like the size and weight. I don't like 'mobile' sized mice for daily work. So this is really a pleasure to use.Holding this mouse keeps your hand tilted to the right, in a comfortable position. It feels much better to use than a regular mouse, where your hand lies flat over the top of the unit. With this, your right hand rests naturally on it's right side, as you would if you put your hand on a desk in a relaxed way. It's got 5 buttons (7 if you count all the wheel's movements) that are all mappable to whatever you want them to do using the Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Centre v2.8 software. I've made the inside thumb button a "Double Click" and it's great. You can change the blue Windows logo button to whatever you want, but by default it's set to open the Start Menu and I've found it really useful. The scroll wheel has 4-way scrolling that enables up, down, left, and right navigation and presses in as well. All these movements are mappable to whatever you want in the software.Connectivity is a breeze. Just plug the little 2.4 GHz dongle into a USB 2 port and it's instantly recognised in Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, Windows 10 Phone, Macintosh Mac OS X v10.7-10 and Android 3.2-5.0. I was surprised as to how easy it all was. The range for the transceiver is around 10' (3 meters) so that's plenty. It glides around on it's clever magnetically held base brilliantly, and is an instant hit with everyone that sees it. They all want one in the office! It comes with a limited 3 year warranty for peace of mind as well. I really can't recommend this highly enough for right-handed desktop or laptop use. I'm just sad it took me so long to get one!

Having begun to experience wrist pain after years of using a laptop track pad, I decided it was time to get a mouse. I normally don’t do very well with regular mice (I have large hands and always end up using the “fingertip grip” to manipulate normal mice, moving my hand and wrist around more than I should and straining both over time), so I decided to try an ergonomic mouse.I tried two less expensive variations of ergonomic mice before finally getting this Microsoft product, and I must conclude that I should have just done this from the start. This mouse is comfortable to use, not bothering my wrist at all once I got used to the hand positioning, and is obviously well made. The designers paid attention to all of the details: the sliding feet along the bottom form a complete oval, allowing the mouse to glide easily across a smooth surface in any direction; the slot for carrying the wireless dongle is located in the same compartment as the batteries (which were provided – two Duracell AAs), so there’s no danger of losing the dongle in transit; and it’s made from high-quality plastic. I at first thought it might be a little too heavy, as it weighs more than the other mice that I tried, but as it turns out, the weight is perfect: it feels solid, but doesn’t take a lot of effort to move. It worked instantly upon being plugged in (to a Windows 10 computer) and the movement of the cursor on the screen is nicely precise; the scroll wheel works excellently and the buttons are all fairly quiet. I found the back button a bit difficult to press at first but it didn’t take long to become used to it. Other reviewers have noted that the USB dongle is a little larger than most dongles and this is certainly true; however, I see this as a positive rather than a negative because I always remove dongles from my laptop before transporting it anywhere and find that the smaller dongles can sometimes be a little difficult to pry out; this larger one makes it easy. The downsides of this mouse include the fact that it doesn’t have a forward button and that it’s wireless instead of Bluetooth, therefore taking up a precious USB port on my computer. In the end, though, I’m very satisfied with all of the other aspects of this product. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good ergonomic mouse – it’s much better than the other, less expensive models that I tried out first.

I am a long-time user of ergonomic computer mice as I experience tendinitis around my elbow if I use a regular mouse for longer than a couple of minutes. I have used just about every type of ergonomic mouse on the market, but struggled to find a decent wireless one so jumped at the chance to give this one a go.I was surprised that this mouse was so comfortable and easy to use. Rather than being an 'upright' mouse (the handshake type of ergonomic mouse) you cup your hands around it and your hand sits at about a 45 degree angle, which is sufficient for the wrist to be in a more natural position, avoiding the twisting of the wrist and forearm tendons that happens with regular mice.My hands are quite small (glove size) and I find the mouse comfortable, so would imagine that folk with larger hands would also find this comfortable too. The device is designed to sit under the palm, arguable smaller hands would have more problems with this but I have not found that to be the case.I was so impressed with the mouse that I bought a second one for another computer in the house. In my case this has been a sound purchase, although it is quite expensive £30-35 when I purchased. It is quite new to the market so hard to judge how long it will last.If you do decide to buy then please do not make my mistake and buy an 'open box' version. As mentioned previously I was impressed when I purchased a full-price version of this mouse, so then went on to buy a £20 'open box' version from SweetBuzzards via Amazon. Unknown to me the mouse is actually faulty and gets through batteries in about 4-5 weeks (whereas my original purchase is still going strong on it's original batteries 4 months later!). It took two rounds of batteries for me to realise that this was a fault in the mouse. By that time it was too late and SweetBuzzards would not replace or refund the purchase as it was outside their 21 day return policy. My suggestion is that you buy this mouse at full-price from a reputable supplier.

The surface of the mouse is very sleek, so your fingers slip to the side. If you have a massive hand than this is not a problem. I think I've got M/L men size hand. My index finger ends up on or slightly below the scrolling wheel instead of resting slightly above the scrolling wheel. I believe this is a case of getting used to, but the mouse feels too big anyway. If you like smooth scrolling, often found in Logitech mice, then this mouse is not for you. However, I like the sound of clicks (Lower frequencies comparing to Logitech mice in general).I tried to use the mouse on the mouse pad to increase precision and I had to use much more force to move the mouse around comparing to desk only.I think the Microsoft should release at least two different sizes,so men with smaller hands and women can use the smaller version.UPDATE:I feel less stress on my wrist, so the big size of the mouse works I think (adding one star). In order to increase accuracy, I bought Perixx DX 2100XL Ultra Thin Gaming Mouse Pad (the non-rubbery version).

I actually purchased this from SCAN near Bolton, Lancashire. It is simply the best most comfortable mouse to use I have ever owned.I do have large hands and this mouse is perfect for them. Now the down side: It is not Bluetooth despite being wireless and the dongle has to be the worst possible design Microsoft could come up with. Mine has just broke. The dongle is paired with the mouse at the factory so it is game over, new mouse required which is how I came to write this review. If you indent to use it in a desk top, no problem, but a lap top beware of movement in the carry case. Mine has lasted around 2 years so I got a reasonable life out of it.Would I get another one, you bet I will. Why Microsoft can not provide a micro dongle, who knows, all the more irritating when I purchased a Bluetooth dongle to replace it only to find it is not actually Bluetooth. Such is life.

Love this mouse - this is the second I've bought (for a second PC). I've fallen into the trap of buying cheaper ones in the past, but they've all broken in no time or been inaccurate so I rodent buy another: I'd caerphilly reconsider buying a cheaper one. My first has lasted 2 years without any form of wear, breaks, squeaks or problems: i reckon I can eak out 3-4 more ears from it. It's got a very mice feel to the body and is solid, using it is a brieze. Batteries last a long time, particularly as I use my computers 18+ hours a day: I bought 100 at the time and have still ton of them left. Say what you like about Microsoft, but they make really gouda keyboards and mice.

Probably one of the best ergonomic mice around. This mouse is great if you suffer with wrist ache from using the mouse for long periods of time. The mouse fits your into it in a more natural way than a standard mouse. The mouse is good for general desktop use, I use it in an office environment for 8 hours a day and it's proved reliable. Colleagues have even gone out and bought some themselves and really rate it.The wireless works well, battery life is very good, a few months (I use rechargeable batteries in mine).Would I recommend it for gaming, no not unless you only play solitaire, hearts or minesweeper.

I didn't think the design would help much with my RSI, however given the good reviews i thought I would give it a shot.My wrist is at most 45-50 degree angle to the table. Not an upright mouse however I still found this failry comfortable. You can experiment and try and hold this mouse in different ways if a positon starts to feel tired. It's light and easy to push and being wireless I can hold it close to my body (in front of the keyboard) or out to my side (next to the keyboard).

Very very good. It's a strange pebble design, that is very responsive. It connects *instantly*, whereas we're all used to waiting ten seconds before the mouse actually works. It has very high precision.. so that makes it ideal for working on graphics, powerpoints and pictures.I like the idea of the blue button - which brings up the start menu and all the programs on the start menu.Like the arc mouse, this will become a cult classic.

Bought this to replace an old Intellimouse. Its a biggish mouse but incredibly comfy. The bottom is held on with magnets which is cool and it works on all surfaces I have tried it on including a glass desktop surface. The Windows button on it is a bit weird and I have not really used it yet but I am sure it would be useful to some.It does feel a bit cheaper compared to older Microsoft mice, time will tell if its as durable.

I have got used to this unusual mouse. However, I found that it has to be within a few inches of its transmitter. My desktop PC is only 70-80cm from my mouse mat but that was too far away. I have used a USB extension lead so the USB dongle for the mouse can be no more than 20cm from the mouse. That's OK for me as I am using the mouse in a desktop environment. Maybe I have too many other items on the same radio spectrum?

Previously had a much larger MS ergonomic mous. Not sure of the model number but was like holding a cricket ball, much fatter. Felt ok, but this one is much more comfortable, a more natural fit for my hand. The only downside is that it needs another button. I'm used to the back button supported in browsers, and this mouse doesn't seem to have an option for that. Am sure I could configure via the wheel, but not apparent.

I use for a long time the microsoft intellimouse explorer 2.0 with updated software for my desktop, and bought this one for a laptop. It has a learning curve and took me a couple of days to get completly used. But after that I must say that is an amazing product that worth every cent. I use it for work and gaming and always performs quite well. No pain at all in my wrist after hours at the computer.Highly recommended.

I now own 2 of these (one for work, one for home) after receiving my first with the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop set and loving it. The mouse is so comfortable in the hand and relieved all the wrist pain that came with using a regular mouse that positions the hand in a more unnatural way.Slightly pricier than most but still highly recommended.

Nice comfortable mouse that performs very well, nice smooth click action as well. Be careful with the USB receiver though. It's very long compared to an average one and sticks out quite a bit. I snapped mine off putting my laptop into its slip-case. I have had to buy another mouse and receiver as you cant get a replacement receiver on it's own.
