I have not followed WWE for about 5 years now so a little out of touch with current events however I am a big wrestling fan. I decided to jump on board with this latest WWE game as the sheer amount of wrestlers on the roster is mind blowing and all my favourites from the 80's & /90's / 2000''s are present but unfortunately no Hogan.I consider No Mercy / Here comes the pain / Wrestlefest Arcade to be the best wrestling games.Graphics:-Good entrances and nicely realised wrestler model's for the most part although long hair looks kind of weird. There is nothing wow here and sometimes can look a bit last gen however the wrestling moves flow beautifully and have some real impact behind them.Finishers and signature look awesome and are a joy to pull off. BUT and a big one at that is the amount of glitches in the game I have seen some awful ones and some have caused the momentum to swing in the favour of my opponent which can be really annoying. I was even controlling a floating Mr Perfect at one point.Controls:-Fluid and fairly easy to grasp even tough I have not played a wrestling game for some time, I am not a big fan of either submission system but admit I probably need to practice and get used to it. All parts of the ring and back stage offer the ability to do typical wrestling moves and are easy to get used to.Gameplay:-Although there is a large amount of matches on offer and Universe mode for those who wish to create your own WWE universe I am sad to say career mode for me is the most boring time I have had with a wrestling game for sometime and It is way too simulation for my liking which just gets plain boring. TIP Don't create your wrestler before starting career mode as you will only be able to port the look and not the moves. I purchased the accelerator pack as I really was not enjoying the career and wanted to unlock the legends. TIP2 If you purchase go to the VC unlock screen and you will be prompted to push square to unlock all items.Overall I ma glad I purchased as I am having great fun with all the legends and the current roster however I am equally disappointed with so many bugs in the game which may or may not be fixed. For their time both No Mercy and HCTP were awesome games. WWE 2K 17 I feel could have been better especially with the inclusion of some story modes for some of the wrestlers. Imagine a legend story mode! That would have made me smile. It really will depend on what you want out of this game but I see missed opportunity but at the same time I am enjoying it enough to warrant a purchase price of £35.21/11/16 I have added another star due to my time with the game I am really getting to grips with the controls and the download community is great fun with some awesome alternative costumes to be found, if you are looking for someone not in the game I guarantee they are here and some are amazing. I have downloaded 6 alternative attires for Macho Man which must have taken sometime to create as they are fantastic. Simply allow as alternative attire and there you go.A lot of bugs have also been fixed so the enjoyment factor is now much better.Still only 4 due to lack of decent story mode.

Welcome to Suplex City!2K have done another great job this year of bringing their WWE game franchise as close to the real-life product that we all know and love. This year has seen a big overhaul, here are just some of the changes you can expect to see in this year's game:* Backstage Brawls - YES YES YES! finally we can re-live our Smackdown Game days where we were able to ram our opponents face into anything and everything we can find backstage* Fight in the crowd - Yep, you are reading this right, you can now whip your opponent over the barricade and start scrapping it out in front of the crowd (just like we often see in those big matches on WWE!).If that wasn't enough you also have the option to take the fight to an area sandwiched between a section of the crowd that conveniently has chairs, tables and all sorts of goodies for you to introduce your opponent to! :-)* New visuals and presentation - 2K has done a great job at updating entrances, attires and visual presentation this year, my favourite touch is the commentary still running over loading screens, so while you see Mr.Cena Vs AJ Styles in the main event as your loading screen, you will also hear the commentators briefly give their thoughts and expectations of the match, just like in a real WWE broadcast* Revamped Universe and Career modes - 2K have dropped the showcase mode this year and have put more effort into the career and universe modes in the game instead. Whilst I was in the group who didn't actually mind the showcase modes, I don't miss it either this year as 2K have loaded these two modes with lots of changes and improvements to make it feel fresh and add lots of replay value* Huge roster - They went all out last year with great additions to the existing stars of today, however, we have seen further additions and inclusions to this year's game aswell! you will see the likes of AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Enzo Amoire & Big Cass, Sasha Banks, The Dudley Boyz and the list goes on and on.There is still an 'unlockables' section this year, where you can add even more stars to your roster , such as Big Boss Man, Road Dogg etc. this is where you will also be able to unlock arenas, championships, logos and superstars for you to play with and integrate into your universe***Final thoughts***This really is the most realistic and 'true to the product' WWE game I have played in a very long time. It is also nice to see they are slowly bringing back the 'arcade feel' that casual gamers and veteran WWE fans enjoyed in the 'Shut your mouth', 'No Mercy' and 'Here comes the pain' days. It's great to see what 2K can do and accomplish with an annual franchise and this instalment is something WWE fans and casual gamers can get their teeth into. The presentation is great, the camera cuts and layout are all true to a WWE show. If that isn't enough then why not create your own show, roster and presentation? decide your champions, rivalries, teams and superstars. Yep you can do all this and much much more! did I mention there is a promo engine? yes it is as great as it sounds and adds to the experience of this awesome game. Get out there an join Suplex City!

They finally got rid of 2K showcase and put in things that were much needed for years.Pros(1) GOLDBERG GOLDBERG GOLDBERG!(3) Paul Heyman & Brock Lensar (Obviously)(2) it's awesome to have backstage and crowd fights in WWE 2K17it's so good in fact i try my best not to overuse these features unless i'm in a heated rivalry!(3) All of the soundtracks are awesome except for P Diddys track.(4) Career Mode is much better this year giving us exceptional amounts of VC if you're promoting yourself out right! The highest i was paid in VC was around 68,000 for the one week itself using my shirt merchandise alone!(5) Finally, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks & Charlotte make there debut in this years game, and if you have the NXT Edition you will get Nia Jax as well.Cons(1) (My Career) i've had several crashes playing career mode with invasions turned on, i've had to delete that career and start fresh since it wasn't allowing me to progress any farther.(2) (My Career) Some rivalries wont even last one week without any dialogue or any reason what so ever.(3) (My Career) i noticed some rivalries ended up being longer than 4+ months on career mode which can be annoying if you're trying to promote yourself out.(4) (My Career) The injury system does not work in career mode so far, i've seen a couple times the referee stopping the match for around 5 seconds before he waves it off for me and my opponent to continue beating the hell out of each other. (i'm not sure if it works elsewhere i've only played career mode so far)(5) if you're a hardcore CAW creator the Body Morphing option does not exist in this game, you'll only have 8 optional body presets.(6) (My Career) Promos are useless if you're playing Face it's impossible for your meter to max out, if you're playing Heel it's impossible to even keep your meter low. it's alot easier to play Heel than it is Face. but playing Heel makes for a boring match in my opinion which is why i've had to restart my career.Advice(1) Crowd audio can be mono as if you were playing backstage but you and your opponent are actually squaring off in the ring. in order to fix this problem i would advise you all to either hop out of the left or right side of the ring and the crowd audio should be back to normal.(2) if you've had the same problem as Cons (1) i would suggest either (A) you start a new career and turn off invasions or (B) you disconnect your internet before playing career, usually two or more CAWs can cause problems for load times..Overall i would say let's hope 2K gives us some patches to fix some of the bugs in this game.

There were some real bad bugs at times but they managed to patch them up though there are still a few small issues especially with the mix of dlc and custom arena's in universe mode (sometimes it would get stuck at the celebration at the end and all I could do was close the game till I found the problem). It's interesting that they force you to grind the game for its in-game currency to buy the unlockables (it can also be used in MyCareer to upgrade your wrestler) this time round instead of having it all just there for you to easily get in the Showcase mode.Speaking of Showcase mode its not officially part of the game this time round unless you buy the "Hall of Fame Showcase" dlc which is abummer though there's not as much a history lesson compared to previous storylines.I wish that they'd allow more freedom with rivalries and let you actually choose how they go instead of the game deciding for you as most of the time you'd just get the same thing over and over which can just get boring (most of the time they'd either be friends or enemies only three times have I ever got a tag team formation out of it) especially if its a long rivalry.

The game makes for fantastic multiplayer action and me and my friends have spent hours having some great matches. The creative side is fantastic, giving you loads of options to make your own superstar or use the online logo tool to create yourself with the use of photos. Career mode has it's ups and downs - the pathway to winning things can create a pretty good story and you have to do more than just fight (cut promos, you can interrupt and attack people etc) but it can become a little repetitive and I'd say it's not something that could be played for a long time in one go.Gameplay is pretty fluid and realistic, I like the addition of rollouts to recover in tag matches.OMG moments make for good fun.A big drawback personally is that you can't upload your own music for your created characters - not a huge problem in the grand scheme of things but still pretty annoying. The submission minigame is pretty frustrating too.Lot's of positives and a great multiplayer game, more characters than ever including some great legends. Who wouldn't wanna be Vince?

Online pinning system was a little off at first but the recent patches to the game have improved its overall function as a whole! Glad they have kept some of the wrestlers from the last game who have not featured in WWE for a very long time (ie Brian Pillman, The Natural Disasters, Curt Hennig etc) and I will be looking forward to the return of Eddie Guerrero and the opportunity to play as Sycho Sid in the DLC! Only thing I have to mention is the obviously missing Showcase mode which I feel was a major factor in the success of last years game as it was an interesting way to bring the younger generation fans back to the hype Stone Cold Steve Austin created! Was hoping a similar Lesnar Showcase would have been efficient but apparently that wasn't the case! Heres hoping the DLC showcase will bring some form of closure! Great Game! I am throughly enjoying the new features! Hopefully WWE2K18 can expand even further!

This game is an improvement from 2k16, there are now 3 save files for the universe mode, better tools in the career mode, and the controls and movement of the characters are very good. But I haven't been free from issues, like having my character and my opponent get stuck in the grapple stance (X on Ps4 and A on Xbox) having to do a game restart to get out and solve the issue, this was rare for me. I also saw no story mode like stone colds in 2k16. It now Paul Heyman to become one of your manages and get you some time to championship easier. I would recommend to those who haven't played 2k16, and to definitly fans of wrestling.

After the release of WWE 2K16 last year, much better than WWE 2K15, the game was great. This game however took it to a whole new level of awesomeness. It's pretty much been the game I've been waiting for from WWE in years. The roster is incredible with both superstars on the main roster who compete on RAW and SmackDown and also those on NXT. Even the women's roster is the biggest ever in any WWE game, which also includes legends Lita and Trish Stratus, plus the DLC additions of Ivory and Jacqueline. The gameplay is great and I love the new Universe mode. Hope 2K keep up the awesome work.

2k has gone from strength to strength since taking over the series. I'm a hardcore wrestling fan and have all the games since Smackdown 1 and others like WWF Attitude and No Mercy on N64.WWE2k17 is the first game since Here Comes The Pain where i've really thought 'this is a complete wrestling game'. It will probably have horrible bugs like the past few games bit 2k have come close to perfect with this one.2k18 and 19 should follow up even better.

29.10.2016

This is a very good WWE simulator. The roster is stacked with current and past superstars. The entrances look great, the arenas look better now with improved lighting. There's plenty of match modes including the all new back stage brawl which is lots of fun. The matches run well. The universe mode is fun, you can take control and be the "booker". My only complaints are there's no showcase mode and the career modes not brilliant in my opinion.

18.10.2016

Good game definitely better than the last 4 titles, but this game could still do with some improvements hear and there to game play. More macth types than the last one. More wrestlers created wrestlers and arena is better. It's not just game skill it's now depends on the wrestlers age and ability so that's something to take in example if you pute old triple h vs 1996 Kevin Nash and play on easy you may still find the game a bit hard.

9.11.2016

The game itself is very good with some of the graphical content dialed down to help your created superstars not stand out so much. For fans of the genre who haven't invested in a WWE game for some time then this might be a good time to return to the series. There are a couple of minor things that could be done better like more variety in the career modes and perhaps that could be improved upon for a future release.

My son who loves computer games has recently took up watching wrestling after playing on his WWE 2K16 . When he heard about this new addition to the collection being released he couldn't think of anything until he had it in his possession. My son is Autistic so could not refuse buying it for him, he has not been off it since and loves the new features and extra players this on has. I have one happy boy again.

As of August 2017: This game really improved after all updates and is now running mostly smoothly - there are still odd glitches and obviously the news about 2k18 suggests the developers are well aware of some of the limitations of the game. The community creations are what really makes this game worthwhile, as the community creates such amazing range and quality in arenas, superstars, championships etc.

16.10.2016

I've played all the smackdown games and all the svr.. But not a lot of the 2ks.i wasnt a fan of 2k16 but i totally love this game, 2k17. The graphics are an improvement, as well as gameplay. This is a step towards making the best Wrestling game ever. People who give this game a bad review are either noobs or trolls
