this is an updated review (december 2020) below are my original thoughts but my opinion has changed. The AP worked well at first with little to no complaints on my end. it was fast and perfect for my rooms connectivity. however it didn’t last long and for reasons unknown to me stopped working. it still lists an ssid when searching for wifi’s however doesn’t let me connect.i just received product to extend my WiFi range and have already noticed the speed of this thing the 5G band is almost as fast as a wired connection and doesn't fade in speed to greatly with distance, and the 2.4G band has a great range and is still amazingly fast! i am very pleased with this product and am considering buying another to replace my router's WiFi.One issue i had when setting the ap up was trying to log on to the ap page, the IP provided didn't work and had to check the ip manually on my routers connected devices list. However all is well so far and i recommend this product! Its as good as the more recognisable brands at a fraction of the cost!

I paid £27 for this on offer - and thats probably what its worth. To summarise:-The 2.4G and 5G ranges are average for a cheap wireless AP - certainly less than my Asus , Alcatel/Thomson/technicolor (or whatever theyre called this week) and Billion. The device crashes / drops the connection repeatedly when the area is crowded with other access points/routers.It only operates in the bottom section of the 5G band - which is becoming crowded. It frequently picks bizarre channels to use if left to Auto (eg 2 or 3) - meaning in crowded areas you get interference devices using the channel blocks centred on Ch1 and Ch6.The VLAN implementation is flawed - it cant handle tagged and untagged packets at the same time and has numerous other bugs.If you need a cheap router/AP with VLan capability try to find one of the cheap TP-link devices that support VLans - these do actually work.
