I was recommended this by a friend whose brother worked in IT.Excellent product it has solved my long term internet frustrations.I had changed provider multiple times to try and solve but each different hub I still had the same issue. Whenever on portable devices I found they would lag a lot. Videos and comments would buffer for 20secs a go when on Facebook. Became so frustrating. When I clicked on website on my iPad and then on another link, quite often it would freeze and 10-20secs later the page would say no connection. I click refresh and it would load fine then.I plugged in this access point and it was really easy to setup after downloading the software. I put it next to my existing hub.

I'm no network tech but setting these up was fairly easy - we did need to consult ubiquiti forums and do a bit of youtubing but when we got it going it all became clear. Make sure you factory reset any ubiquiti kit when setting up for the first time - if any of the kit has been on a different network before this will cause issues for controller adoption. We changed ISP but had these APs on our old network first; they can still transmit old SSIDs if not completely reset at the AP locally.A bit ggeky, but going through all the metrics and stats in the controller is really interesting! I have a much better understanding of how a network actually works now and needless to say wifi is now excellent everywhere in the house,

amazing product, really helped my struggling virgin media router. i was originally getting 10 to 20 MB on speed tests once i plugged in the uap i was getting around 90 to 100 MB, even with over 35 devices accessing it the connection kept strong and wouldn't drop with multiple devices connecting to it. i might after two weeks get there USG router and see if that speeds up anything,for setup i just plugged all the cables from POE injector to the UAP to the virginmedia box. i used the android app from unity to setup the UAP and i used the same details of my virginmedia wireless SSID and password then turned off the virginmedia wireless off from the box and all devices just moved over to new AP,

Brilliant AP, with super features. You will need the controller software to setup but not a necessity to run on a day to day basis, although I do recommend as there are some really cool features available:- Excellent range. I have one of these in a central location in my house and it's able to reach WiFi cameras out in the both the rear of the garden and in my driveway.- Needs a PoE Injector or PoE Switch to operate- If you couple this with the Unifi Edge Router, or Unifi Secure Gateway it works out cheaper and with better results than purchasing a high end wifi router (I'm using these to replace my Netgear Nighthawk R8500)Highly recommend if you've never considered this approach.Point of

Ok so the product is good. Strong signal and solid speeds under multiple loads. But it was a bit tricky to set up because the machine I was using for that set up was running foxy proxy. I run several dhcp servers on the network and so getting the device an ip wasn't an issue but from there it got a bit fiddly. Entirely my fault but they could have made it a lot easier by giving these things a default ip, uname and pwd like all home wifi points. Also the failure to include a PoE adapter is annoying if you don't have one laying around (which I didn't).

I have cable broadband and had wifi blackspots at the back of the house. Relocated the router a few times without much success so thought I would give an AP ago. Ubiquiti products had good reviews so I thought I would try this one as I have 2 daughters constantly on the web. This is brilliant device, connected it to a POE switch and now I have wifi signal everywhere and so far no drop out. It's currently just 'placed' in a central location in the house but I intend to celling mount it on the landing.

Cannot fault it at all, decent connections and high speeds throughout the house now.Controller software can be annoying and can only be linked to one controller, made the mistake of putting android controller on phone thinking I'll put fully fledged one on a dedicated machine once up and running. Once you link with a controller you can't link to another without unbinding it first which resets it back to factory so just be sure of what controller you want to use from the start.

absolutely bang on gear, all the Ubiquity stuff is great,I'm not a fan boy of ubiquity but I have never had Wi-Fi this good,If you take the time to learn how to use this stuff and put it together with the rest of its range of switches and routers, then any Wi-Fi issues you were having will just go away.my kids used to always complain about not getting good enough bandwidth, this access point has shut them all up from moaning. worth every penny if you ask me.

this is the best access point i used with many features and controllable via the unifi app or software. you will need a poe injector or switch to power this unit. i have mine fitted upstairs in the middle of a 3 bedroom house and coverage / speed is perfect. yes its a lot of money but I've used so many different popular well known brands in the past that are no where near the coverage and performance of this. as they say you get what you pay for.

I got this AP due to having a very fast 1Gbps connection and wanted an extender. The Ubiquiti stuff are amazing, I ended up buying the cloud keys and gateway. They are professional grade equipment. The setup is actually not that difficult, but not a rookie job for sure. The internet is now stable and very fast. Note that you should really get a cloud key to be able to control it easily, unless you have a dedicated server/computer around.

Before its purchase i had one main router provided by virgin media to give the downstairs wifi and two upstairs; a tp link ap serving 2G connection. And an old virgin media v1 router serving 5g which was rarley used. Before purchasing this unfi ap, i was getting about 40mb to wireless devices but now im getting 219mb straight to my phone! Wow! I get one ap giving signal all over my house.

I used this to extend a 3 way Unifi AP setup. This one is meshed to the other wired Access points in the system. SImple enough to install, but if any problems then factory reset is your friend (on this unit)! There's a set of wirlesss extension instructions on the Unifi site. Remember the unit has to be Provisioned via the Unifi Controller software before it can be used.

I've got an earlier model of this myself. I bought this as a gift for my father-in-law who was having trouble with his WiFi. He's now got excellent coverage all through his house and can stream iPlayer wirelessly to his tellybox without buffering and watch hours of boring football. My mother-in-law thinks this is excellent, as it means she doesn't have to speak to him!

Brilliant piece of kit. I've paired mine with a USG and the controller software on a RasPIThe level of features and control I've never before seen at this point ice range before.My previous router was an Asus that I spent twice as much on and didn't even have half of the features!Please note: familiarity with networking and SSH required

Great bit of kit as it covers a far better house area without dropping signal than any of my previous routers or extenders could manage. Only thing I'd add is it's expensive once you add other ubiquiti items required. At the end of the day you get what you pay for here...
