I used these to make a point to point link between two locations about a mile apart. Setup was a bit complicated, but nothing too bad for somebody familiar with networking. I found a few YouTube videos to help with install. I even used a 3rd station and was able to connect another location to the main access point. Signal was very strong as expected since these are capable of much longer distances. My only complaint is that the POE adapter does not work for very long distances. I am not sure exactly how far my run was, but I am guessing it was between 150'-250'. I should probably measure it. Failure mode for this unit is a station that shows it is "On", but then fails to fully power up.Web page interface ends up being not responsive and the broadcasting does not work. This caused me much frustration since I could not understand what was causing all the problems. After about a day and a half of frustration I finally figured it must be the POE adapter causing my problems. I found a 24V, 1A POE adapter I had and replaced the 24V 0.5A POE adapter that came with the device. This fixed my problem and so far the link seems to be working as expected.

A friend of mine needed to extend WiFi coverage from his home office in a brick ranch house, to inside his automotive shop150 feet away at a slightly higher elevation. We initially tried one of those inexpensive range extenders, just to see if we could get by, but it was woefully inadequate, so it was time to "go big or go home".We used the NanoStation M2 and Ubiquiti's AirGateway-LR to form a repeater. For that distance, the NanoStation would normally be way overkill, and we maybe could have been ok with a NanoStation Loco. But we needed to get through a brick exterior wall covered by a large metal porch roof, a couple interior walls, and a large tree right in the line of sight. And,we wanted plenty of speed left over after taking a typical 50% speed reduction through any repeater configuration, for video streaming. Pretty straightforward - The Nano was mounted under an eave of the shop, aimed back toward the house, and the AirGateway/PoE supply was mounted on the ceiling inside the shop at the far end of a 50-ft run of shielded Cat7 cable. Works great, Roku menu navigation is quick, movies come through beautifully, no buffering.

I have a cabin that's located down a hill about 40ft below the rest of the property. The cabin has WiFi, but anything up the hill does not.I mounted the NanoStation M2 about 50ft up in a tree next to the cabin, and then hardwired it to the existing router in the cabin.I then configured the NanoStation to act as a simple wireless access point repeating the same network.I now have great 2.4 GHz WiFi at least 300ft away and up the hill in another cabin on the property.I even have WiFi at the very back of the property which is about 600ft away. Much of which has pretty dense wooded areas.Overall, I could not be more happy with this product. Definitely recommend to anyone in a similar situation.

The NanoStation M2 replaced a Ubiquiti Bullet that was having some hardware issues. Even though the Bullet failed, I still prefer Ubiquiti products because of their excellent software, AirOS. I have it mounted on a fiberglass telescoping pole and runt it to a Linksys router that has been flashed with DD-WRT. I am NOT a networking professional and have very limited experience in this department. But, there was enough documentation out there to get me connected after a few hours of configuration.I use the device to connect to WiFi signals while traveling in my RV. I bought this unit to pull in Weak Wifi signals at campgrounds. In particular, places that only have WiFi at the main office. It worked well the couple of times I have used it but unfortunately at one place they bandwidth limited so when multiple devices connected behind it and did simple browsing everyone got limited :/Overall, I had no trouble setting it up but I work in IT so.... YMMVThere are plenty of online videos on how to set this up and get it connected to a local wifi access point in your camper to redistribute the signal it is pulling in.

We got this so that we could go camping and bring a solid WiFi signal from the campgrounds into our trailer. With a little bit of searching I was able to set it up properly. I do have an IT background so it wasn't bad, but if you are not technically inclined you may want some help getting this setup initially. I was able to connect to the WiFi, keep a seemless connection with the campgrounds 2.4 Ghz channel, and had my own little firewalled wifi network inside our trailer. Of course we were at the mercy of the campgrounds WiFi, but it worked perfectly.

I bought this along with the Ubiquity Aircube to create a wireless network and repeater for my RV. I have been using Ubuquiti products for an exceptionally long time and have a lot of faith in their quality. This AP was no exception. While a bit challenging to setup, youtube was an exceptional resource and allowed me to get up an running very quickly. It’s small and powerful allowing me to pull in Walmart and Lowes wifi networks at the edge of the lots. Well worth the money for the traveler.

I use it in RV and what I can tell it is amazing it boost my signal very very strong. Four stars because if you are just an experienced user, like me, it toke me 2.5 hours to make it work. Instruction included incomplete you have to search on internet.....for "Beginner’s SETUP GUIDE for NANOSTATION-M2 as receiverer" to find out how to configure it. But once it is working it is fantastic, Also get the WIFI adaptor in same time to connecr via wifi phones, tablets and computers.

I probably could have used the M2 loco for my application but it does seem to work as advertised. I'm using as an access point to a metal building about 400 feet away that has no internet access. Figured I would need as much power as I could take, but in reality, ive adjusted it way down and it works fine. Finding updates was difficult and when checking would say nothing was found. Support did find an update and sent a link to it via email to me.

Set up a point to point wireless bridge with our guest house that is about 800 ft away through trees and the signal is strong and the network in guest house is almost as fast as in the main house. Used it with a Ubiquiti NanoStation locoM2 2.4GHzI have never set up something like this and it took a little figuring but once I got the right components and watched a couple videos it has been working great.

have bought over 200 of them from amazon! I love them as a basic radio in commercial deployments. Easy to use software with the ability to setup commnad line CRON scripts and push data...However it would blow my mind if it offered some way to preconfigure with the MAC address rather than needing 291.168.1.20 to set it up... I reverted to TFTP to speed the process up via redboot.

I setup a network in a forest with these. The longest path was through a mile of trees. Despite being a little on the technical side to configure, these devices out performed every reasonable expectation I had for WiFi. A pair of these can run reliably, father, further, and faster than I thought possible. Buy this now. You will not regret it.

This is best of the best. 10001% satisfied with this. So powerful and stable. Access points galore when this thing is up and running. I bought antennas before this and they are crap when compared to the Ubiquiti NanoStation M2. It takes some IT skills to setup though, but when it's up, it's a beast. Best product in it's class hands down.

Bought the Ubiquity to extend my wifi coverage and installed the unit on the radio tower. Coverage is a 1/4 mile at full power with a 60 degree beamwidth. The unit has done well in sub freezing, wet, snowy, and windy weather without degradation in the home. For the price I felt it has been a good buy.

I didn't expect these to work so good. Thru 2000 ft of field and pine trees. I didn't even aim them precisely, just generally pointed them at each other the best I could since I could see the other end. Ended up with full signal and throughput. Easy setup to bridge mode with two of these devices.
