This is a gaming headset with microphone.Turtle Beach's Stealth range come in three colours, red for PC, green for Xbox One and blue for PS4 though either one will work with all of the gaming consoles (including Nintendo Switch) and a Windows 10 [gaming spec] PC. So if you don't mind not matching with your console, seek out the cheapest colour. There are 2 wired headsets in this PS4 range, 300, 350VR and 3 wireless, 520, 600 and 700, with more features the more you pay.Out of the box and you're presented with plain looking headphones, all matt black plastic with Playstation Blue for the headband, speaker cloth grills, the cable and the Turtle Beach logo on the ear cup.The ear pads are breathable fabric and have a good amount of memory foam padding that doesn't feel like get sweaty quickly. These closed backed cans and they fit over the ears, not on them, so you get less sound leakage even when you crank them up. The fit is very comfortable with no undue pressure on the top of the head or the ears. They are also designed to be glasses-friendly (thanks to Turtle Beach’s patented ProSpecs system) and do exactly that, there's no clamping of my glasses with these headphones which is great. These cans never felt too heavy even after an hours' wearing. This is a wired headset, there's a 3.5mm (1/8") plug at the end of the thin 1.8m / 6 foot cable, that should be long enough to plug into your PS4 controller. Despite having an analog connection cable, these headphones also have an amplifier built in. Strangely, you can't switch it off and have these work as passive headphones. The battery is 900mAH so should be good for up to 40 hours of power (they say) and there's a micro USB charging cable included in the box. Note, you can listen to these headphones while charging, so that should prevent everything going off mid-game.Attached to the left hand side ear piece is an all plastic microphone. To get it to work, pull it down, to mute it and you simply swivel it back up. Simple and clever. Also on the same side are two buttons, for power and four audio presets (balanced, bass boost, treble boost, bass and treble boost), though no faux surround sound. I didn't hear much difference switching between them. Also, also on the same side are two dials, for master volume and mic monitoring (hear yourself better against the overall sound) and if that wasn't enough, this is where the micro-USB port is as well. So, how's the sound? The 50mm drivers produce a strong and clear sound with a reasonable amount of bass to envelop you in the game you're playing. Obviously you don't want to be swamped in bass frequencies to the detriment of mids and highs, but these do feel a little lacking. What you do get is a crisp audio presentation and soundstage that matches the quality of the game you're playing. It's pretty immersive. For "normal" applications, listening to music is not bad as well, they'd easily do for a spare pair of headphones.

This is a nice step-up from the basics of gaming headsets by providing you with audio amplification the effect of doing so making a decent difference to your overall experience. There are a few thoughtful design touches to this model from Turtle Beach which some prospective purchasers would appreciate - notably the glasses-friendly design which has a section of the padding where the arms of spectacles would run being less dense so resulting in less inward pressure on the frame of your glasses. I also like the metal reinforced frame which is helps with a sense of durability. The foam top padding is nice and soft so helps with the comfort levels - particularly if you have less or zero hair up top.The boom microphone is effective and clear for people on the other end, I’ve had no complaints so far. It enables when you extend it to the outward position and there is a volume dial for the microphone on the left can. You hear 2 upper beeps to confirm the microphone is enabled. If you push the microphone to the upper position it mutes the microphone - and you hear 2 lower beeps to confirm that the microphone is muted. As mentioned, the amplification is the nice part for this set - and worth paying extra for in my opinion over a non-amplified set. You can get about 30 hours usage out of a full charge, so as long as you get into the habit of remembering to charge your headset as well as your controllers you should be ok. It uses micro-USB so at least it’s the same socket type as the controllers - which would otherwise have been an odd oversight. The amplification makes a decent difference to the audio quality and helps to improve the bass levels as well. It’s not top-draw audio quality by any means, but it’s a worthy upgrade from the basics. Pressing the Mode button appears to cycle through 3 levels of bass - and you can hear a slight 1x, 2x or 3x beeps to signify the level - but the change is relatively subtle each time.Ultimately, this is a relatively large headset, and so that instantly won’t appeal to some people. It might also be worth pointing out that the foam and fabric combination might lead to sweat or heat build-up during prolonged and frantic sessions - depending on your tendency to sweat although that could be viewed as a self-limiting aid to stop you overdoing it… I didn’t find any way of seeing how much charge was in the headset although there is a green LED on the base of the left can to at least show that you’ve turned it on.

This is a good headset. I like it a lot. I have quite a narrow head, and struggle with some headsets and headphones as even on the narrowest setting they can be prone to slipping. Not so with these. The narrowest setting, combined with the robust padding used in the band/cans means that this headset fits nicely. This isn't a sign that the band is narrow - I checked it on my Dad who has quite a wide, round head type, that restricts his options when it comes to choosing glasses as his head width splays the frames. The cans are large and comfortable, as is the padding at the top of the band. These are light feeling, but the padding still has some body and substance to it - it doesn't squash to nothing once I put the headset on.I find that really light padding not only doesn't offer any comfort, it doesn't give any kind of grip and combined with my narrow head leads to headsets slipping. These, by contrast, are great. The sound quality is good - both in the ear phones and on the mic, and the wired design means that there's no lag. The fact these are wired might not suit everyone, and there's only a tiny difference price-wise between these and the Stealth 600s.I was a little put off with these by the quantity of plastic that goes in to both the packaging and the headset. They're supplied in a rigid, blue plastic tray inside the outer box. The cans are protected in expanded foam. The micro USB charging cable is separately wrapped in plastic, as is the quick start guide. There's a plastic hanging hook at the top of the box (with a larger plastic anchor) on the inside of the lid. And then there's the headset itself - which is nice, but incorporates a lot of plastic. If there's going to be this much plastic in a headset, the packaging needs to be more sustainable.

These are good wired headphones but I am not convinced they are the best value in the Turtle Beach range. They are supplied in a branded box along with instructions and a USB to micro USB charging cable. They are wired headphones that plug into the PS4 controller but being amplified require charging before use although the battery life is good. They are well made and comfortable to wear if a bit bulky with a rigid drop-down microphone that folds flush when not needed and offers Variable Mic Monitoring that allows you to adjust the volume of your voice inside the headset so you never have to shout.A nice feature is that they are Glasses Friendly with the foam shaped to remove pressure on your glasses while you play. They are a bit bulky but comfortable to wear with Breathable fabric-wrapped memory foam ear cushions which sit nicely over the ear and an adjustable headband that is metal reinforced for durability. The speakers have 50mm drivers and offer a crisp and well-balanced sound suitable for gaming or listening to music and you can customise the way your game sounds with four audio presets, including a Bass Boost. The headphone and microphone volume can also be separately adjusted which is a good feature. However, for an extra £17, you can have the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless Surround Sound Gaming Headset for PS4 which dispenses with wires offers additional features such as Superhuman Hearing that lets you hear quiet footsteps sneaking-up from behind as well as virtual surround sound which can be used with games, movies and music on any platform. You pay your money and make your choice but this is a good pair of headphones if you want a wired set.

This fully adjustable Turtle Beach Stealth 300 Amplified Gaming Headset for the PS4 is very good looking and extremely comfortable, it is designed in blue and black and has plenty of padding on the ear cups and head band. We have purchased Turtle Beach Gaming Headsets in the past for the Xbox and have been really pleased with them. These ones for the PS4 are equally as good. They sit comfortably over the ears blocking outside noise extremely effectively. Used for online gaming they are just about perfect, with its high sensitivity microphone it is almost completely lag free and vocals sound like vocals should, you can actually tell who you are speaking to by voice alone! The microphone is well made and pretty sturdy and a feature that I really like is the ability to remove yourself from an in game chat immediately simply by flipping the mic up to mute. Another great feature of these headphones is that they are glasses friendly (with their ProSpecs comfort driven design) ... and a lot of people wear glasses.I have given these headphones to my sixteen year old son who is PS4 mad, he loves everything about these headphones particularly the four audio presets meaning he can save his audio settings for four of his games and access any of them with a click of a button. When playing first person shooter games (like call of duty and modern warfare) the lag free environment makes it easy to hear people creeping up on you ... a real bonus. The in game sound effects sound superb.Used for audio (music and the like) the quality of sound is like nothing you've heard before, base sounds just as base should. To sum up ... worth every penny.

♦ Introduction ♦The Stealth 300 are the lower spectrum out of the Stealth series Turtle Beach have to offer; they don't have any wireless features, instead they come with a fixed wire. Unlike some other wired headsets, these do require some charge to function, be it just listening to audio or using the microphone features etc... Though the good thing is these have roughly 30 hours use from each full charge, that's not bad at all.♦ Comfort ♦Coming from a glasses wearer, these have a very high comfort factor to me; there's not too much pinch around the ears and the cushions are very soft.♦ Audio / Mic Quality ♦When you have these plugged into your controller, ensure the settings is on 'All Audio'.The audio is decently balanced from the get-go, however pressing the mode button will go through some presets such as 'Bass Boost' & 'Bass & Treble Boost'; there are four audio presets available. The microphone which is activated by flipping down and muted when flipped up is very clear, however will pick up every sound going on in the background.♦ Other Features ♦There is a sidetone feature which delivers voice feedback back into the headphones which means that you will be more likely to talk to your friends rather than shouting at them. The sidetone feature is very good and can be adjusted by the dial on the left cup. There is also a dial to adjust overall volume.♦ Final Thoughts ♦Overall this is a brilliant wired headset for the PS4 and other devices that offer very good audio quality and other features for a price that isn't going to break the bank.Would definitely recommend these if they are within your budget.

Turtle Beach Stealth 300I wouldn't normal write a review. I'm not a hardcore gamer, probably game twice a week. I wanted a headset just for some basic chat and to hear the game through.Asking a question about which headset should I get seems to start arguements these days over brands and features. If you want a headset that's comfortable for improved chat over the basic included mic pieces, want to hear the game audio through so you're not disturbing your household, not worried about wireless, and don't want to spend an arm and a leg then I couldn't recommend the Stealth 300 more, it does everything you would want a headset to do. If you game a couple of times a week then this is brilliant,I was torn between this and better models but for my needs this is perfect. It plugs into the controller and you receive the audio via the headset after altering the settings on the PlayStation. It cuts out an odd time but that's an issue with the audio passing from the playstation to the controller to the headset. I've used it on my 3ds and it doesn't cut out so that's the only thing I can think of.Yes you have to charge a wired headset, it lasts around 35-40 hours, and this is to amp the speakers which you're hearing audio from, it's no issue for me.Ultimately, go for what you really want out a headset and within your budget. I'm so happy with this so it's a 5* for me =)

• The flip up mic is really good — it mutes automatically when you flip it up.• I'm not a massive fan of the blue, almost cyan colour.• They are very comfortable to wear for long periods.• Although this is specifically tuned for PS4, it will still work with XBoxOne, PC and Nintendo Switch.• It comes with a 3.5mm jack which plugs in directly to your controller.BATTERY=======• Unlike many other wired gaming headsets, this needs to be charged; it comes with a micro-USB to USB cable.• It needs to be charged because of the EQ presents — there's some sort of internal amplification going on. (Whatever power is coming from the controller is not sufficient.)• This is why it has an internal battery. It is a 900mAH battery. You can get roughly 30-40 hours of playtime on a single charge.• You can't use it once the charge has run out without recharging. This is somewhat inconvenient for obvious reasons.VOLUME======• I'm really glad this is on the left ear cup and not on the cable — I hate inline controls.• You get good punch bass while still retaining the ability to hear less subtle audio cues (important in gaming).

Review for the stealth 300 PS4Comfort.Superb as always very nice fitting headset and I have a large head but these are perfect.Memory foam padding sits over larger ears with no problems. Very comfortable.Sound qualityGood bass good mediums and highs.Used on Xbox one and PS4 there louder on Xbox one to the point of really loud but never distort. On PS4 there not as deafening as when used on Xbox one but still crystal clear.Mic is excellent so I’m told, like I’m sitting next to the online player I’m talking to, plus if you have these turned right up you can mix in your own voice so you can hear yourself so your not sitting in a quiet room at night shouting :).Build quality is fine.Battery lifeis ages after charging. The mode button I find pointless as I press it and it doesn’t seem to make a bit of difference to the sound. Just beeps in my ear. Remember after use to turn them off to save battery :)Playing Forza horizon 4 the music was pumping:)9/10 for price to sound quality

I had the crackling on PS4, I think it's some kind of grounding issue in the controller but either way if it happens I unplug 3.5mm jack, touch it and plug back in, no more crackling. I have 3 controllers and it's worse on one of them. On the one I currently use this doesn't happen at all. The sound on these is good, I usually hear people before teammates in warzone when I'm spectating. The feature to pass through mic into your own earcups is essential. The fixed mic position is perfect for me, and the way you mute is handy. They're reasonably comfortable. After a lot of hard abuse the connection between the left earcup and headband broke but they still work. The battery lasts long enough so it doesn't bother me at all.Definitely worth the money. Thousands of sweaty nerds have been killed in Verdansk thanks to these.

These are really very good headphones they work well on my ps4 and also on the pc .The pivot to fit the head is half way down the ear cup and so helps them curve around your ears and face for a really close fit.The cord is about a meter so you would have to be sitting quite close if using your computer but as they attach directly to the controller on the ps4 /pro then I don't see any reason to pay extra for the wireless set.The sound itself is very good and seems multi directional , the microphone transmits clearly also .the fit was slightly tight to begin with but has eased to very comfortable after 10 minutes or so,The cups go up and down ,twist left to right and have a movable bend half wayup and alter to fit very well.

Comfortable set of headphones with good padding around the ear and headband. Fits my glasses comfortably without rubbing. The headphones don’t get too hot to wear. The mic is very good offering a clear sound, your voice volume can adjusted and an instant mute can be achieved by flipping the mic.The sound is very good offering a good bass response and overall very clear. The rechargeable battery is said to offer about 30 hours. So its pretty decent. The side of one of the ear pieces offers instant control for volume and for mic volume.Overall a great set if gaming headphones offering good sound and excellent features so you can concentrate on gaming.

I have had many headsets over the years gaming but always seem to come back to turtle beach. This is an upgrade from my current budget set. Instantly you can tell they are a much more premium set, chunkier but really light at the same time! the headband adjustment has an integrated metal reinforcement so there is zero chance that the ear cups will break away. Polymer plastic finished in mat black and extra padding alround. They feel really good. The sound is good, three modes for all different types of entertainment, gaming, movies or music. Havent used the integrated mic yet but im sure it will do the job.

21.8.2018

Very impressed with these gaming headphones. They are robustly made and the sound is excellent across all frequencies - the bass really booms and the higher frequencies clear and bright. The sound separation is also first class giving you a full 360° sound experience. They are light and comfortable to wear despite their size and the spectacles friendly design is most welcome. The microphone delivers hifi quality sound from you to your 'listeners'. In my view the 30 hrs playing time from a single charge is beyond decent. They are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

18.1.2020

I've held off reviewing these until I'd given them a thorough field test. Previous set was Turtle-beach XO Three - a great headset in it's own right. The amplifier help boost sound depth and power while retaining the detail. Positional audio feels a little more precise and the NC mic is great (according to team mates. Charge seems to last for ages (only charged twice since purchase) and they are comfortable, even on those 4 - 5 hour sessions.Definitely worth a look if you can't justify / afford a pro level headset
