I came across Turtle Beach about 2 years ago when I got the Stealth 350VR phones. They were a revelation to me. Up to that point I had been a Sennheiser user, but Turtle Beach opened my ears to sound that I didn't think was possible. So, how do these compare to the Stealth?Packaging is sufficient. Nothing really to wow you, phones are picked out in gloss, brown cardboard inner, very similar to most other boxes on the shelf. Perhaps they need to look into that, as these phones are definitely not like every thing else on the shelf.Very simple quick start guide, customer service sheet and a sticker. The ear cups look like a step up from the Stealth, with a nice coating over the memory foam (what a brilliant idea!),but it's very hard to tell which pair are the most comfortable, they are so nice to wear. The wired feature is different. The Stealth aren't and you can plug in any length cable you want, which is handy for film if your sitting a distance from the jack port. This means you'll need an extender though, rather than a longer male to male jack. The top of head protector I found was slightly less comfy than the Stealth, there's just a bit more padding on those. Not that that's too drastic as some phones don't even have this feature. The worst part of these phones though is the squareness. Don't get me wrong, I can live with that because of the comfort, but they are very square looking...think of the bar that goes over a Cyberman head and you'll get my drift.Oh...the sound! Well, as said at the start, the Stealth 350VR were astonishing when I first heard them. I was playing different tunes on the iPod and switching between them mid song to try and get a feel for any difference. What I came up with was these somehow give a slightly warmer sound. I much preferred this for music, whereas the Stealth are a much better pair for film, giving a less coloured feel.Summary: What a set of phones. £50 for something this good, with this quality and this sound is astonishing.

This is a multi-product page and so reviews are merged. This review is for the Turtle Beach Recon 500.The headphones are ear cups that can help block out external sounds, so you don’t need to crank the volume up to drown out the world. From a music perspective they produce good clear sound with no hiss or crackle and bass gives a nice thump without being dull.I have been using these on a Switch which is a bit laughable as the headphones are bigger than the console – well almost. Games play exceptionally well through these, and I am hearing sounds I can’t normally hear. The left and right are quite distinct and so now I am getting some directional help.Voice is clear and crisp and teammates have no problem hearing me.The mic plugs into the headphones and is on the left hand cup. The arm is in a fixed position, but the boom has some flexion to allow you to adjust placement, but it is limited. That being said, voice pick up is good wherever it is placed. The cups are a firm foam that are big enough to encompass my ears without touching them and likewise with the internal depth. I have worn these for several hours at a time and they have been good to wear. There is a little pressure soreness after a while, but a simple remove and replace eases the pressure and away to go again. The mic is easily muted by pressing a button on the left cup and a wheel allows for volume adjustment on the fly. The braided cable is approx 135cm which is more than enough for a handheld or where you plug into the controller. If plugging into a PC, you may need a splitter if you have separate mic and headphone sockets. I used these for a teams meeting on an HP Elitebook and the sound both ways was perfect. My only very minor negative is that I would have preferred a microphone that rotated out of the way , but that is just a personal preference.

I am an adult gamer, I am over 40 and no I don’t live in my mother’s spare room. I am a lawyer and I find gaming to be my release.I am fortunate enough to have the Series X, PS5, Xbox One X and PS4 pro. I have Steelseries Arctic 9x for the Series X and PS4 Gold headphones for PS5.What I needed was a little set for the older consoles upstairs, for when the Mrs or kids want the main TV. I have had numerous Turtle Beach sets in the past and I have always been impressed. The Recon 200 are an excellent set, I was lucky and picked up a warehouse special for £22, so price wise a real bargain; that said I would have happily paid £50 for these. The sound is good and clear, the spatial audio is as good as you will get on a sub £100 set without real 7.1 support. I was able to hear footsteps approach in COD, and the bass was satisfying for this range. For long term play, I did find the headband a little cheaper than other similar sets I have had in the past (Stealth X4). I found the cups a little sweaty and a bit tighter than I would have liked for longer sessions, but for me as a second set for a quick 30-60 minute play they are superb. If you are looking for a set for a teenager, they will be excellent; if you can get them as I did for under £30 you will not find a better headset anywhere. They work with all current consoles inc Switch, simply by plugging the 3.5mm audio Jack in.They are powered, inbuilt battery charged via micro USB. They have a good life but note they are not wireless - you will be looking at circa £100 for a half decent wireless set.Good value, good sound, good headphones, Turtle Beach you are Turtely Amazing.... I’ll get my coat...

This fully adjustable Turtle Beach Recon 200 Amplified Gaming Headset for the Xbox One and PS4 is very good looking and particularly comfortable, it is designed in white and black and has plenty of padding on the ear cups and head band. We have purchased Turtle Beach Gaming Headsets in the past for the Xbox and have been really pleased with them. These ones for the PS4/Xbox One are equally as good. They sit comfortably over the ears blocking outside noise extremely effectively. Used for online gaming they are just about perfect, with its noise cancelling microphone it is almost completely lag free and vocals sound like vocals should, you can actually tell who you are speaking to by voice alone! The microphone is well made and pretty sturdy and a feature that I really like is the ability to remove yourself from an in game chat immediately simply by flipping the mic up.In the box ...Turtle Beach Recon 200 Gaming HeadsetMicro USB charging cableQuick start guideTurtle Beach stickerWhen playing first person shooter games (like call of duty and modern warfare) the lag free environment makes it easy to hear people creeping up on you ... a real bonus. The in game sound effects sound superb especially with the always on Bass Boost.Used for audio (music and the like) the quality of sound is like nothing you've heard before (in this price range), base sounds just as base should ... very, very loud. Also after a full charge this headset will last for up to twelve hours before needing to be recharged. To sum up ... worth every penny.

Gaming headsets are both a curse and a blessing from a parents point of view. Blessing as there’s no more game soundtrack or sound effects blaring out, curse because now my son just shouts at his mates while playing Fortnite. The first headset my son got was the Xbox branded one, it looked great and worked well until about 6 months in when the mic stopped working, 3 months of misery to Microsoft support and we managed to get a replacement headset sent under warranty, the mic failed on this after 3 months.Faced with spending his pocket money again he opted for Logitech G231 B01KT8D7KW, these look great, feel comfy and the sound quality is really good.So with this background to headsets he was really keen to try Turtle Beach Recon 200,we had heard of the brand before and to be honest they would have been his first choice but the price points put them out of reach. At £49.99 this set are at the mid to low end of Turtle Beach’s range. In use these feel sturdy, the square shape design is nice and the bright white looks great. They are comfortable to use for long periods and the cup padding is soft. The immersive sound quality is where these really come to life, by far better than others tried. The mic is also very clear hearing it from the other end. These are a good buy from a strong brand name in headset, the price seems fair in comparison as the quality is the best tried from a small selection. Hopefully they will last and should we ever need support I would hope they are better than Microsoft.

I am reviewing the Turtle Beach Recon 500 here which is currently £69.99 at the time of this review. It is a wired gaming headset that will work across several platforms. I have been testing it with my PS4 Pro, Nintendo Switch and PC for a couple of weeks now.I will start off with the good points:• I like the design of the Recon 500. It is an unpretentious design and good for gamers of all ages.• The build quality of the headset is great. The memory foam ear cushions are marvellous. With that and the flexibility of the headband, it is extremely comfortable.• The mic is excellent for this price point and is detachable. Now the not so good:• The sound quality is average. Although better than cheap entry headsets, the HyperX Cloud Alpha I have blown the Recon 500 out of the water.• I find having the volume control behind the left ear a bit awkward, but that could be because I’m used to having controls on the line. So, would I recommend the Recon 500? That depends on the price. At the current £69.99 I would rather have the HyperX Cloud Alpha which is currently £72.95. Sound quality is the most important factor to me. Plus, the Alpha has a detachable wire which can be replaced if the 3.5 audio jack is damaged, which kids tend to break. But if this were to drop to about £55-£60, I would not hesitate to get the Recon 500 as a good allrounder.Make sure to shop around, there are a few headsets in this price bracket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the fact that these Turtle Beach gaming headset for your Xbox or Playstation are very comfortable on the head and ears while you are wearing them .I like the fact that i was easily able to hook them up for the first time and use them within two minutes after opening the box to them .They were designed with a nice sleek design and the fact that the headset matches my Xbox one perfectly is another plus in my book .The sound quality is great and i didnt notice any distortion or crackling while the volume was all the way up . You can also use this for your playstation if you don't have a Xbox at the time .I do a lot of online gamingso having a headset that connects and works great is a must to me .I like that the Turtle beach headset fit all my needs plus some . It was a little big on my 8 year old daughter but this really wasn't meant for a child's head however my daughter said she loved them anyways and she can grow into them. Me and Hubby will be using them regularly during our gaming nights with friends and family

My partner uses his PC for gaming and for communicating with friends via the internet, sometimes at silly hours. For the past few years, the property next door has been empty, but a couple of weeks ago a family with a young baby moved in, they are very quiet, in fact we haven’t met them yet. We thought it would be more considerate not to have cars screeching and zombies groaning in the middle of the night from the PC games, so these are perfect. First off, they are very comfortable to wear, my partner finds them extremely comfortable to wear, they fit him perfectly and he says you wouldn’t know you were wearing them. I gave them a try too. Sound quality is amazing, the games sound better with them on,you’d think the footsteps were real in the room. A crossbow fired in the game even whooshed past me with direction. Internet calls are great quality too. 3d sound tests were amazing too, plenty on the internet to use.

First thing i would like to say is, this headset is the comfiest I have tired, plus the sound quality is great and it looks very smart. My son was looking for a new headset for gaming. To be on the safe side i purchased 2 different one's in the hope I would pick at least one good headset that will be given the approval from my son. The feedback is, this headset is the comfiest and the sound quality is great. However, I was advised the only downside was the battery charge died after about 6 hours, which at the time interrupted a game. As this is a wired headset, I didn't think the battery would die. I am sure wireless headset need to charge, so probably no big issue and would just need to manage headset use.I am not going to knock a star off for the battery as the comfort of headset and sound quality makes up for this. Plus, I believe the headset is great value for the price.Kind regards,Paul S

These headphones work perfectly on my son’s Xbox One. He likes the fact that these are white, in colour, rather than the usual black (although these do come in black, if you prefer them). He finds these very comfortable to wear and says the sound is good, plus he can both hear his friends, when he is playing, and they can hear him clearly. The padded headphones are very good if you are wearing these for a long time – although, obviously, I try not to allow my son to play for too long! Still, for the serious gamer, these will be very comfortable. The bass is good – something both my sons often complain about with headphones – and you can flip up the microphone to mute it.Although this listed as working with Xbox One and PS4,it also works with other devices. I have tried these in my PC, for example, and they work on phones and tablets. Excellent quality and very comfortable to wear.

These headphones are designed for use with Xbox One or PS4; although I have both, I have currently just used these with the Xbox. The headphones need to be charged and then connect via the jack to the controller using a lead that is sufficiently long so as not to get in the way of gaming. The Mic cannot be removed from the headphones but doesn’t feel in the way and is reasonably unobtrusive.Sound and volume are both good for a low to medium-priced unit and I have no complaints there. They also feel comfortable to wear for a couple of hours gaming and will probably be fine for longer – I will update should that not be the case.Overall, these are a decent set of headphones that work well with Xbox One.No case or pouch is included, which is a slight pain, but I have a drawer in which I store controllers, and this fits inside, so it isn’t too much of a problem.

I have used this headset with my ps4 over the past week and found the followingSound: the overall sound quality delivered through these headphones has been excellent. the bass and trebles are all there to give a rich overall output.Microphone: the mic is removable if you just want to use the headphones which I think is a nice touch, according to my friends they can hear me perfectly well when chatting.Fitment: for me this is where I had an issue, the headband is a bit too tight and does put pressure on the sides of your head over a long period of time, I think this needs to be looked at.Ease of use: The headphones have a large mute switch on the side of the ear cup which is easy to find, the volume dial is also easy to locate while wearing the headphones.Overall a really decent set of headphones, I just hope the headband eases up a bit.

Headset is clear and crisp with awesome bass. The scroll wheels on the back make it very useful to adjust the volume of all ingame audio along with the wheel for mic monitoring. The mic is very high quality and sounds great, awesome noise isolation aswell and the flip to mute always comes in handy. My only issue would be the fact that once the headset runs out of battery they will not work as passive headphones and require around 3 hours to fully charge. However the battery life is pretty good. I have been caught out twice but you can use while charging so having a long cable negates this issue. And often whenever I think about it I just put them on charge and the next time I hop on they're fully charged.Overall a great headset with awesome audio quality, incredible mic quality and a decent battery life. I would reccomend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This headset is excellent for gaming. It is especially good for epic game scenes with lots of fighting and ambiance. There is a good amount of bass and great sound quality for listening to speaking or even perfect for music. The headset is super comfortable on my ears when wearing for any period of time and even blocks a lot of outside noise with how form fitting the cups are over my ears. The mic picks up my voice great and connected easily to chat. My only mildly negative thing I could find is that it needs to be charged in order to work on my pc, but I can have the headset and a USB cable plugged in at the same time, which can be a bit awkward but works. It does stay charged for quite a while and only takes a few hours to charge. All in all a solid gaming headset!
