I cut a hole in my old storm door to make my own doggy door and just needed a flap to cover the opening. This worked out perfect because I could just screw the top of it to my door and cover the opening I cut myself. It was also easy to trim with a scissors (the hole I cut in my door was sized a little bit smaller). My only concern is that now that it is super cold outside here (below zero) the flaps do not seem as flexible as they are in warmer weather, which I think is to be expected, but I just hope the flap doesn't break. I guess we will see how it holds up.

I feel it would be rude to give this a less than five star since what I needed it for was home made, I tested out the doghouse I made incase my wife ever decided it would be a good idea I slept there, so this is my experience, the flaps worked good, the matterial is thick and sturdy, yet if you are making the dog house yourself don't get this cause it's really drafty, I was cold and wanted more insulation, so I built a dog hallway on the outside to break the wind and that seamed to help a lot, all in all it's decent but not the best by far.

Does exacly as it says, its a brilliant simple concept for keeping your dog dryer and away from the wind.My two dogs got used to going in and out of there kennel within minutes.This is ideal as they stay outside all day while we are at work, its cheap adaptable and can be wiped clean.Fixing it on you kennel takes about a minute, all you need is a phillips screw driver.Just make sure you get your dimensions correct when ordering it.Bravo to the designer x

Over a year ago I bought two (2) plastic door covers for each of our dogs that stay outside and they are still keeping our dogs dry when it rains and warm in the cold. My husband attached them on the front of their wooden dog houses and I have not had a problem with them. The strips of plastic are quality material and gives them good ventilation during a summer rain. I would definitely buy another one if we got a third, outside dog.

pretty sturdy arrived fast we built our own dog house because we have a cane corso and a lab and they both can fit in it comfortably and stay warm and dry. neither of them were sure of the door until we showed them but then they didn't have a problem going in and out of it not a good product if you have a dog that likes to chew up everything she's 11 months and still chewing. she has already chewed off half of one of the strips

I actually bought this to fit on my hen house. Basically I used this one for summer!I actually managed to install it myself, measured, used the drill and fitted it. It took my hens a day to figure out how to get back out, had no problem with going in. At no point did any of the flaps stay open, so I am pleased with my purchase.It will be going back on the hen house (a proper brick and cement construction) come summer!

I used these dog door inserts for my chicken coops to keep their nesting boxes warmer as I live in the moutains where temperatures are low this time of year. It took them a few days of me pushing them through the door at night and in the morning, but they seem to have finally gotten the hang of it themselves. It seems to be working because my hens are finally laying eggs, now that they are warm enough again.

Bought this for a different kennel (different brand, different design), built a wooden frame around it (the door on my dog's kennel was too big), and just screwed this in. It's good quality, thick material. I thought my dog would probably rip it to shreds within a day, but surprisingly, he hasn't. I think he must "get" it and like the shelter. Or it tastes disgusting to dogs. One of the two :D

I bought this, as part of a "package deal" with a dog kennel, and is a little short, but adequate. It is quite thick plastic, and supplied with 3 screws. It would, however, benefit from having 4 screws, but this is easily rectified. I did have to attach it to the outside of the kennel, with it being too short, and the design of kennel was a little restrictive, for attachment purposes.

We purchased this pet door to use on our screen porch. It definitely served the purpose however our dogs are large and they run full speed through the doggie door. Because of this the middle flap did not hold up and broke within a few weeks. That being said it is well made and would work for smaller or more docile dogs. However not for large dogs who "go hard".

There is not much spare plastic at the top to use for attaching. However you can put a screw with a washer any where through the screen to support it. It's quite thick, but thin enough to cut with some heavy duty scissors. It's a good idea to put anti-chew nail paint on the edges to deter the dog from chewing the edges when it gets board or just spiteful!

Fit perfectly over the front of my large Precision Pet Products dog house. Said it came with screws but I didn't find any in the box but I had some that worked. I put it over the front just to keep leaves out better. Looks great to me and is half the cost of Precision's offering. I have some chicken coops by Trixie and they seem to be a decent company.

My dog decided to chew up the last plastic door so decided to try this one. So far it has stayed intact & does seem to be pretty strong. The only problem with the thickness of the plastic it can get bent inwards which can lead to rain dripping in, however think this would also depend on your kennels design. Overall good product.

wish it came in smaller size even than the smallest size shown had to cut it down but still cheaper than buying the strips separately on a roll so worth it, I brought it to go over the front of my Tortoise house to keep out the draughts, so only needed half of it still worth it though works very well she can go in & out easily

Very satisfied with the plastic door I ordered from Amazon. It is really thick and I'm sure it will last a long time. Our Aussie, Mattie really likes it also because she can easily peek out to see what's going on because of the way it is made with the slits. Very satisfied with the quickness of the delivery time; really fast.
